Command to find out information of Boot/Root device

I installed ESX 4.0RC on a SAN disk. I would like to know how to find out if the ESX is started from the SAN drive or Local drive. I'm interested to know CLI command to find out the root device and the boot device. Can someone help me in this matter.

-Sabha

On ESXi: /bootbank is a symbolic link to the boot volume. esxcfg-info - b gives you

the only uuid. Map a device to vmkernel: partition using vmkfstools Pei

On ESX: If each source uses a different cos vmdk and fstab (which

part of the cos vmdk) cards/boot partition to start from a good source.

then you look at the output of the mount to get a dev COS and partition

for/Boot. Then cross vmk esxcfg-scsidevs - c device names.

• Three computers networked fine then suddenly the error message «...» Contact the administrator of this server to find out if you have access permissions. Not enough server storage is available to process this command. "

I had a network that worked very well with three 2 computers running Windows XP Professional and Windows XP Home Edition 1. Suddenly, the network has just stopped allowing certain communications giving the above error message (I have another thread address with XP to Vista computers). The main computer with XP Pro, I'll call A, the second computer with XP Pro, I'll call B and third with XP Home will be C. All computers can share files and printers then without any changes to the system that occurred the following:

A can access the documents and printers on B and C

B may NOT have access to documents or printers on one, but access to documents and printers on C

C cannot have access to the documents on one, but CAN access A printer and CAN access the documents and printers on B

When access is denied error message is displayed:
"\\A\My documents is not accessible. You might not have permission to use this network resource. Contact the administrator of this server to find out if you have access permissions. Not enough server storage is available to process this command. "(\\A\ being the computer that I am trying to access)

As I said access from all computers on this network was working fine a week ago and there has been absolutely no changes made to the network. I checked the following

1. workgroup name on all computers are the same
2. file and printer sharing are enabled for all computers.
3. all computers may been from each computers just denied in some cases.

The firewall that runs on all three machines is AVG and there were no changes to the one last week, but I checked that sharing is allowed.

I even tried to run the Configuration Wizard from the network on all computers to see if it works, but the same exact problems occur after doing this.

I met this problem now THREE times. I can't believe that I'm the only one who has this problem and I can't believe that there isn't a solution for it. None of the Microsoft documentation has even a hint of a solution for this specific problem.

I need a solution that closes completely the network at my church, and they cannot afford to buy printers and others for each of their computers.

Vista and Windows 7 updated drivers love then here's how update the most important.

This is my generic how updates of appropriate driver:

This utility, it is easy see which versions are loaded:

-Free - DriverView utility displays the list of all device drivers currently loaded on your system.
For each driver in the list, additional useful information is displayed: load address of the driver,
Description, version, product name, company that created the driver and more.
http://www.NirSoft.NET/utils/DriverView.html

For drivers, visit manufacturer of emergency system and of the manufacturer of the device that are the most common.
Control Panel - device - Graphics Manager - note the brand and complete model
your video card - double - tab of the driver - write version information. Now, click on update
Driver (this can do nothing as MS is far behind the certification of drivers) - then right-click.
Uninstall - REBOOT it will refresh the driver stack.

Repeat this for network - card (NIC), Wifi network, sound, mouse, and keyboard if 3rd party
with their own software and drivers and all other main drivers that you have.

Now in the system manufacturer (Dell, HP, Toshiba as examples) site (in a restaurant), peripheral
Site of the manufacturer (Realtek, Intel, Nvidia, ATI, for example) and get their latest versions. (Look for
BIOS, Chipset and software updates on the site of the manufacturer of the system here.)

Download - SAVE - go to where you put them - right click - RUN AD ADMIN - REBOOT after
each installation.

Always check in the Device Manager - drivers tab to be sure the version you actually install
presents itself. This is because some restore drivers before the most recent is installed (sound card drivers
in particular that) so to install a driver - reboot - check that it is installed and repeat as
necessary.

Repeat to the manufacturers - BTW in the DO NOT RUN THEIR SCANNER device - check
manually by model.

Look at the sites of the manufacturer for drivers - and the manufacturer of the device manually.

If you update the drivers manually, then it's a good idea to disable the facilities of driver under Windows

How can I find out what programs I should have started and what are the programs I can start myself to my computer to run correctly when starting?

Hello

I understand you want to learn about programs, you should start your Windows startup. I will certainly help you to question.

When you start Windows by using a normal startup startup, several applications and services automatically, and then run in the background. These programs include the base system, antivirus software, utility applications processes system and other software that was previously installed. These applications and services may cause interference when you install or run a program.

The system configuration is a tool that can help identify problems that might prevent Windows from starting correctly. You can start Windows with common services and startup programs turned off and then reactivate them, one at a time.

I suggest you to refer to the links below and check if this is useful:

Using the Configuration System (msconfig)

Perform a clean boot to determine if background programs interfere with your game or program

Hope this information helps.

• Did someone already bought a HP dv9700 Entertainment PC & find out more late it is a model of dv9810us?

Hello. Has anyone ever bought a HP dv9700 Entertainment PC to find out later that it is actually a model of dv9810us?

I bought my laptop as a HP dv9700 Entertainment PC. However, the properties of the system display incorrectly. The property system indicate that it is a HP dv9700 Entertainment PC like the box your laptop came in; however, sticker service tag on the bottom of sweep of website of the laptop AND my laptop for drivers of HP indicated the model is a dv9810us. A specialist of the HP Support told me that the models failed to height in the properties of the system due to an error in Imaging, but I'm not sure about this because I'm not familiar with the operation of the "imaging". I guess it probably has some kind of ini or another file (or something) that tells it what to display system properties.

Anyway, has everyone except I never bought a laptop to learn later that this is not the model you thought you bought? I really want to hear from you if this has happened to GOLD if you know why this happened to me. The only reason I found out that it of because I started having problems with the device and was looking for drivers to download from HP and the pattern does not match.

Thanks for your time and your answers!

Have a fantastic day,

Tammy :-)

Thanks for letting me know the system information is pulled from the BIOS. However, don't would not support HP on HP Web site scanning detected the correct when model it detected my model as a dv9810us as opposed to the dv9700 shown in my System Info? It seems that everything points to a dv9810us except the system information.

Earlier, I noticed that besides the service tag indicating it's a dv9810us, the sticker on the laptop near the keyboard said also that my laptop is a HP Pavilion dv9810us Entertainment PC (instead of HP Pavilion dv9700 Entertainment PC). It seems that the BIOS must have incorrect information as well. I've ALWAYS relied on my system information to be correct, but in this case, it is incorrect.

I still don't understand WHY this happened. The information system has been the same since I bought the laptop but I never had any issues so far, so it didn't matter. This error/mixup with the model numbers were able to settle the bad sound and drivers QTOSD before I decided to use the Restore Manager feature to try to get this back to factory driver settings.

Once again, thank you very much to tell me where the information system is shot, but I still don't know why it would be wrong, but it seems not be wrong.

Good day!

Tammy

Ohanna Hello,

Thank you for using the Microsoft answers Forums.

Determine the current Version of WUA:

Determine the version of Windows Update Agent (WUA) before using it. The current version of WUA is determined by the version of the c:\windows\system32\wuaueng.dll that runs in the current installation of Windows \System32 directory. If the c:\windows\system32\wuaueng.dll is version 5.4.3790.1000 or a later version, WUA is installed. A version earlier than 5.4.3790.1000 indicates that the Software Update Services (SUS) 1.0 is installed.

When a call is made for SUS 1.0 using the API INTERFACE, an HRESULT of WU_E_AU_LEGACYSERVER is returned.

You can also use the IWindowsUpdateAgentInfo::GetInfo method to retrieve the latest version of file of the c:\windows\system32\wuapi.dll that runs on a computer. The IWindowsUpdateAgentInfo interface is not supported in WUA 1.0.

For more information, see update the Windows Update Agent.

Thank you.

UDAY $012 please let me know that whether the solution worked or not, I thank you and appreciate your comments.

Original title: slow start

How can I find out what programs are essential in the implementation, we can stop?

Windows Home vista 32 premium

Hey Stella-50,

How slow is slow? For example, my machine (e-machine E4264 2.2 ghz with 2 GB RAM) boots in 95 seconds. For me, I call it, in the average. I am currently in the process of looking for a new machine because it is already 3 years old, so maybe that OEN will be slightly faster to start.

What you can 'turn off' will depend on which in fact initially launches upward and, unfortunately, you have not told us that at this moment. Is that you should not disable your anti software anti-virus (updater). nothing to do with your mouse and your keyboard etc.

Perhaps, if you made a list of what application are actually being run at startup (via the msconfig Startup tab) can someone take a look at them and see if, or what can be disabled.

Otherwise, you might take a glance at Startup Delayer http://www.r2.com.au/software.php?page=2&show=startdelay to see if you can delay the time different applications load to allow windows to start up more quickly. I haven't used so I can't say how good/bad it is. It's a freeware.
