  • Google indexing of xml files, how to prevent...

    Hello developers,

Maybe it's a weird question, but I have a small dilemma.

I have a few sites flash-xml and Google will index the xml files.
When a user is searching (Google) and the text can be found in the xml file, the result of the search sometimes will be http://domain.com/file.xml
For example, when the user click on it only the xml file is displayed in the Explorer.

    Question:
Is there a way to link or redirect the xml file automatically to the site index.html file?
Or y at - it another way to avoid this?

Thanks in advance for any help!

You can get help here, though it is not a question related to the AS1/AS2 and is probably better to take to a forum such as http://forums.adobe.com/community/design_development/webdesign web design

Or better yet, you could try Google itself.  They provide advice to deal with things that are not indexed.

  • Save the object as a xml file xml

    Hello

I loaded my .xml file into an XML object using URLLoader; and URLRequest. I transferred some data in a table and a data grid, it handled etc.

I now have this XML object with the updated records. So, how to save it to an .xml file so the system can read the documents/data in it if necessary?

    Thank you

Sounds like an ideal candidate for an AIR application!
( http://www.adobe.com/products/air/) AIR provides more features that
running Flash Player, including the ability to write files to the hard drive
drive. He works directly with Flash (and other technologies), so should be
feel quite familiar to what you have already seen in AS3. Indeed, search
the logo of AIR in the docs and you will see specific AIR APIs.

To trace output to the Panel of output in the IDE, use the global trace()
function. To save a file in AIR, see the File class.

  • Example XML file format

Can someone point me to an example of XML file that works with Spry? I would look at the layout page/data format to see what is different from what generates the Alpha.

Access the documentation for Spry here:

    http://labs.Adobe.com/technologies/Spry/docs.html

In the getting started with Spry section, you will find a XML primer.

  • Embed html tags in an xml file

    Hello!

Can someone tell me how to incorporate basic html tags into a legend in an xml file? IE hyperlinks etc. Thank you

    Stefan83 wrote:
    > I'm afraid that its still does not. I tried to copy and paste the code you
    > gave me, but the hyperlink is just displayed as text rather than as a real
    > link.

XML does not use tags as hyperlinks. It is simply a neutral platform
way to store and disseminate information. If you do not use a CDATA
section, XML treats the contents of the as separate items:

    * a text until the opening tag node
    * a child element called
    with an href attribute
    * a text inside the tag node

    * a text following the closing node
    tag

A CDATA section ensures that the content of the tag
treated as a single entity, but XML is not any idea of the way in which it
should be displayed. In regards to the XML document is, there
simply data characters (these are what represents CDATA). Normally, you use
XSLT or DOM manipulation (by Spry, for example) to determine how
    It is displayed.

If you are using Spry, you define the column type of legend
"html". This feature was not included in Spry 1.4, the default in version
Dreamweaver CS3, but it is supported in Spry 1.6. You need to upgrade to
Spry 1.6 and code manually the column type like this (assuming that the name of)
    your dataset is ds1):

    DS1.setColumnType ("caption", "html");

The previous line will immediately after the code in the head of your
a page that creates the data set.

If you're new to XML, all this probably sounds complicated, but it
is not really. XML deals with plain text and tags can be called almost
just what you want. In HTML, the browser knows how to display a

    tag. In XML, a
tag can contain anything. For example, it is
    Quite right XML:

    Chippendale

XML tags describe their content, but they don't say how the browser to
    view this content.

    Thank you for helping me

No, it won't, because the next line handles things (xml = new XML (str1);). Either by the way, it is strange to see AS3 with no variable typing. A line should say: var xml = new XML (str); No xml = new XML (str); Both will not work if you have a strict typing in the compiler settings, disabled but it's a good idea to have strictly implemented, it will help to identify some questions before starting the film.

But this problem is not due to variable typing, I think it's because your xml file is not complete the minimum requirements for well-formed XML documents. Read this:

    http://en.Wikipedia.org/wiki/well-formed_XML_document

If I read that correctly, you must have a root element, which would mean that it should work for you:

    str1 ="Is a test';
    XML = new XML (str1);

The 'texts' tag will act as the root element.

  • Writing in an XML file.

    Well boys and girls

    Please help me!

PS. the app is located here http://members.chello.nl/f.hoekstra01

No, sorry, it is not as simple as that. This example illustrates only manipulate xml. It does not have to access the files on the server.

In fact, source = 'test.xml' is a compile time operation. The XML is baked into the SWF, and there is no communication with the server at runtime at all.

You must have some features for this server-side.

Better sink in my example. It is almost as simple as that, especially if you ignore the xml manipulation on the client side.

  • What is an xml file and how to find a missing one?

What is an xml file? How to find one that is missing?

In short, an XML file is a file structured data - in other words, it stores the data in a way that is easy for a computer scan and read, but it is also easy(-ish) for a human to read, too.

Generally, XML can be used for configuration or preference data, or for the exchange of data between applications, but there are a multitude of possibilities.

This means that, with regard to the resolution of your problem is concerned, that was no help. The whole point of XML is that it is easy for any application store some data he needs, so you need to be more specific on what application you are using and what XML file it is looking for. Only then can someone (possibly) steer you in the right direction.

  • I created a new library of more new playlists but cannot find the Library.xml file

    Hello

I'm going to re - build my iTunes files from scratch, a kind of decennial event 'spring clean '. I have created a new library by using the command, click on application startup, and then began to rebuild new reading lists in the application. I can see the folder newly created the library that contains the new "iTunes Library.itl" file BUT I don't see that the iTunes Music Library.xml file. " There certainly must be one to save the data of the playlist, and probably "Get Info" should reflect today date' today... I don't see older versions.

Although everything seems to work perfectly I don't want to have to re - visit the construction of Playlists from scratch for the next ten years! Can anyone suggest what happened to the .xml file?

    Thanks and greetings

You can create an .xml on iTunes/file/library/Export library file and gives you the opportunity to put the Library.xml file in your iTunes Media folder - or anywhere you like.

If you need to rebuild your playlists, you can go to iTunes, file, library, import playlist and select the .xml file.

Normally, you do not see the .xml file in your iTunes folder.

  • How can I recover the index.xml file?

I can't open a document Pages I've recently worked on. I get this message: I can't open a document, I worked on. I get the message: the requested index.xml file is missing.  What should I do? Thank you, Miriam

You have two versions of Pages on your Mac and tried to open an incompatible v5 Pages document, while the Pages ' 09 still worked. You simply leave the Pages ' 09 (the purple ink bottle icon) and then double-click on the same document for it to open correctly in your version of Pages v5 (yellow paper with the pencil icon).
