  So I got this Compaq Presario CQ57-445EQ with Windows 7 and 4 GB of ram. Last night I tried to upgrade the BIOS of the first version (2008) to the last (2015) and he got bricks. • G505S overheating during the game

  I had the G505S for 2 days and have been using it to play Football Manager 2014. However twice during this period, he stopped because it has overheated. When I turn back the fan kicks in and a little heat serious out and dissipates after about 5 minutes.

  This is normal because the game is running and full GPU is used, if the temperature rises more than normal. I suggest to contact one of our authorized Service Center nearest you and make sure you use the laptop by placing it on a flat surface for proper ventilation.

  Please, try the following steps and check if Unit works very well.

  (1) the Bios, graphics & Chipset driver update from the HP website and check.

  (2) once the unit is on keep tapping F10 key and checked if the screen flashes If yes you may need to replace the screen by call HP technical support.

  Compaq presario cq57-339WM does not recognize the drive as a boot drive recovery, I'm sorry people, I searched and I entered the job in New York as a matter of research. Operating system is 7 Home premium. Hard drive went bad, so I rplaced with new. I have had I have windows image backup, but the wizard could not find the hard drive. I ordered the HP poped the first of the two recovery disks, but the machine does not recognize the drive as a bootable disk recovery. I did factory retrieve records a large number of times on computers with different operating systems and have never seen this. TNA

  I have Compaq Presario CQ57-425ER and you want to use Windows 8.1 GPT disk. I made a bootable USB key with Rufus (TPG-UEFI chosen option), but my laptop can not boot from the flash drive. There is a message - no boot device. I found 2 interesting points in this description: supports GPT disks and provides support for the installation of the UEFI System Partition.   This model of PC has limited support for Windows 8/8.1.  It does not support the GPT or UEFI 2.3.1 or later version.  It is the MBR only.

So I want to reset my laptop to factory settings so it will run a little better, because sometimes it just would be nice if he would go a little faster.   Please read this guide on how to reset the hard drive of your laptop to its original "out of the box" condition.

  Make sure that you back up the files that you do not want to lose on a portable storage device, as the performing a system recovery will erase all data on the hard drive before the start of the recovery.

  The recovery will reinstall Windows and all the software that originally came with your laptop.

  You shouldn't have the Windows product key for this procedure.

  I wanted to join you and help! I understand that you have a problem with an APPLICATION (501) BIOS ERROR on your Compaq Presario CQ57 laptop PC.

  Remove all USB devices. Disconnect all non-essential devices, because they can cause some problems.

  Try starting your laptop normally after having disconnected all. If that does not solve the problem, please continue with troubleshooting.

  The next step would be for you to try to restore the BIOS. You will see that the document says:

  If the BIOS of your laptop becomes corrupted, and a failure to upgrade the BIOS or damage caused by a virus, the computer can display all the following symptoms:

  • The computer displays the error message from the BIOS APPLICATION ERROR 501.

  After restoring the BIOS see if you can start the computer normally.
