Compare models privilege changes no DDL

I like the 'Models of comparison/merging of views' followed by "DOF Preview" tool to get a script that contains the necessary changes.  However if one of these changes is to revoke permissions, those who do not appear in the preview of DDL.

Simple example:

CREATE USER ALPHA IDENTIFIED BY ACCOUNT UNLOCK;

CREATE USER BETA IDENTIFIED BY ACCOUNT UNLOCK;

CREATE TABLE ALPHA. ALPHA_TABLE (alpha_id NUMBER ) REGISTRATION

GRANT SELECT ON ALPHA. ALPHA_TABLE BETA.

If I save this as a model, and then remove the permissions granted and save it with a different model, comparing the models do not give me a "REVOKE SELECT ON ALPHA. Declaration of ALPHA_TABLE FROM BETA"in DOF preview.  Not even when I specifically check the box "to fall" in the dialog box to compare.

I'm doing something wrong, or is this a bug or missing feature?  And if it is the latter, can it please be added to the list to get fixed/added?

(Database oracle 11g, version 4.1.1.888 Data Modeler)

This feature is not supported in the Data Modeler.  I added a request for improvement (21668256).

  • Data Modeler - compare models and DDL file

I was the generation of DDL files by importing data dictionary. In the window to compare the models, the orange triangles with exclamation points show tables that are somehow different in the database and my data model.

It would be a very useful feature, if she did not notice the type of information that never goes to the database. For example I used the Notes field and the table Types, and comparison feature shows that this information is missing in the database. In other words, it shows the exclamation points in each table, even if I had changed one table in my model.

Is there a reason to make it work like that? Or is it going to be fixed in the future?

Therefore the Data Modeler has not noticed that the sequence had changed

DDL for new sequences is generated only - no. ALTER statements. Yet changes in the database can be merged into a physical model.
I logged a bug for this.

  • Data Modeler - change the DDL table instructions

I am trying to add a new foreign key and a column to a table which already exists in the database. I generate the DDL Data Modeler but I can't change the declaration for the new column.

How we prevent data Modeler to generate the DDL that change of name of table in < table_name > _bcp / delete the table and then re-create the table?

I don't want to create a backup table and I don't want to delete and re-create the original table to add a column. In fact I can't even delete the table due to the other tables that refer to it.

So it is possible to change the declaration of DDL generation instead of the drop and create statements?

the reason for this is schema - uncheck ' property usage pattern in compare features "in" General Options > DDL.

  • HPCM error - definition model has changed since the last calculation

    Hello world

I have a bit of a problem on an application Coordinator.

    (1) message warning when I go to balancing-> "model has changed since the last calculation."
    (2) message when I select cube considered in balancing-> 'the database has not been updated with the latest results of calculation."

What has been done before I got to this point:

    (1) add a few lev 0 members in the current hierarchy for cost center
    (2) run a comparison to check if they are picked up (OK!)
    3) deploy EPMA (result: SUCCESSFUL message)
    4) go to HPCM and deploy the two cubes (OK-> at least is what the status of the job)
    (5) control of new members in OTL (OK! they are there)
    (6) the HPCM Calc launch, check the box to erase all data of calc prev, check the box to regenerate calcs, check the box to transfer data to the reporting cube.
    result: employment status: OK!

But in reality: never got transferred through to the reporting cube.

I repeated steps 1 through 6, a few times, I even changed something in the (alias) shared library to check if it went through.
In EPMA it says that the app is 'in sync with the deployment. And when I run a comparison with deployed application, it does not pick up anything.

    Any ideas?

    Thank you

    Hello world

Just realised I never came back with the answer to my question. I was developing the new application and starts the compilation of the Calc sequentially, so while I was developing Calc for step 2 or 3, rebuild only those scripts are calculate only the specific areas. This is the reason why I received this message. As soon as I transferred both apps and recalculated at the beginning, the error message disappeared.
    Just in case someone wondered.

    See you soon,.

  • Compare the gold - change of scale model?

    Hello

I have a prototype system of control works very well with the Template.vi or compare and find most of the defects in my DataSet.

However, currently I have position and scale information coming from the pattern match in compare it gold screw model (as in the example of OR). This works well when the samples have the same size, but if there are any changes to the scale but the comparison of the model begins to fight. (I tried the border thickness settings to ignore it, but it could be even better)

I would like to be able to use the pass information on the scale of the Pattern Match in the model compare gold, but when I just wire the value in front of the cluster of pattern match (as is done with the information of position and angle) the program and then not picking up not the other flaws he did before, even when the scale has not changed.

Has anyone encountered this problem before?
I have to somehow prepare the VI of model or compare to a size change?

(final application is a system of inspection of logo, very similar to the example of NOR provided)

Obtained this sort ultimately (via a call to support) so leave a note for all those who in the future which has this problem:

The scheme normal game VI does not scale ouput information.

You must use the GEOMETRIC pattern match to get the information across.

  • Order that SQL Developer Modeler generates objects in DDL download

Little annoying question... When I have an existing data model that includes all of my table definitions and ALSO my package definitions, I try to make a DDL download and load it into an instance of Oracle 11g and get an error on a procedure declaration does not have a column type.

What I see is when I open the prepared ddl script, the package is created until the table is under construction.  Is it possible I can tell SQL Developer Data Modeler to build like objects together (table, then sequences and then triggers and packages and procedures/functions?

SQL Developer Data model version 4.1.3 Oracle database 11g r2...

    Thank you

    Tony Miller
    Los Alamos, NM

    Hi Tony,.

Data Modeler generates at the beginning of the Package definitions in the DDL file, so that they appear before the objects such as Tables, views, and triggers that may refer to them.

And the Package body are generated at the end, so that they can refer to Tables and views.

Unfortunately there is no option to change the sequence of generation.

In general, the Data Modeler takes dependencies between objects into account to generate the DDL file objects in a proper order.

However, it does not detect the dependencies TYPE %.  I connected an enhancement request to add to its dependency checking (22581821).

  • Compare models invents differences

I create a difference script using the target swap model approach. Looking through the object hierarchy, I'm comparing the differences one by one. I notice that there is some Check constraints that vary only by name, but the tool indicates that they also vary by expression.

Even if one uncheck the 'Check constraint name' box in the filter properties, the expression of the constraint remains red.

We have a bug should be fixed in the next version:

21436619 different causes of forced formatting Check can be marked as being changed

  • Compare models does not take into account property "columns order.

    Hello

    This looks like a bug:

After doing some restructuring on a table the models compare- dialog box displays columns levels between the model and the database, which is correct. I'm not interested in the reorganization of the physical table, but I still want to keep the model table in a certain order of column.

Now in the 'options' - tab the options 'compare' and then I unchecked use 'Order of columns' property, press to refresh the trees. NO CHANGE!

If no action is displayed in the DOF-preview (which is a good point of ) tree still shows the differences in the order of the columns that are not relevant for me. What I want to achieve is: the tree is must signpost: there is nothing to do on the database, despite the different orders of columns.

    Thank you, Dieter

(it is for version 4.0.2 on Oracle 10 g

    Hi Dieter,

When 'Column Order' property to use option is not set, a difference in the order of the columns will always appear as a difference, but the Order property of columns is initially not selected on the Details tab (although the user can still select if he wishes).  This means that (unless she is then selected by the user), the difference will not affect the DOF preview and it will not be merged in a merger.

The order of the columns can be completely excluded in the comparison by going to the Options tab and then selecting the tab filter properties, then selecting Tables on the left side of the Panel and marking the Order of columns excluded property.

The button refresh trees can be used to refresh the tree, ignoring the Order of the columns property.

  • Notify the ListView data in the model have changed

    Hello!

I know this question has been asked several times, but I have yet to find anything satisfactory.

I have a ListView, filled with a QListDataModel.

After some time I update an element of the model. So far, the only way I found to the ListView so that this change is to delete the model and then reappend all elements. But the problem with this approach is that ListView Flash and scroll to the top of the page. Is there anything better to just say ListView that it should update the visible elements?

    Thank you

Well, I just signal myself in the WRITE method and it works.

  • Foreign key delete rule: no matching combination does not show a difference to compare models

    Hello

I've noticed that if there are in the relational model a foreign key with delete rule NO ACTION and in the database (Data Dictionary), the delete rule is RESTRICT, no difference appears in the dialog box to compare. The difference is displayed if the delete rule for example is CASCADE and RESTRICT.

    Kind regards

    Robert

    Hi Robert,.

Thanks for reporting this problem.  I connected a bug on this subject (21754221).

This situation does not normally flow when an Oracle database is imported, but may occur when importing other types of database.

  • Modeler cannot export the DDL for databases Oracle (only work for DB2 databases).

    Hello

First of all, I'm sorry for my English, I'm French.

I'm new with Oracle tools. I have my database with the DataModeler deisgned.

Before that I've got my schema versioning I could export the schema to DDL Server Oracle 12.

But since I have version control with Subversion I can only export to DB2 databases (screenshot follows):

    Exporting to Oracle databases?

    Thank you.

Well, unzip to the new directory doesn't mean a new facility because it is the same version and DM will use existing preferences - you must remove the directory with the preferences. For DM 4.0.2.840 this directory on my Win7 is:

    C:\Users\\AppData\Roaming\Oracle SQL Developer data Modeler\system4.0.2.840

After starting DM you must check "System Data Type Directory" "preferences > Data Modeler" - it should be empty or point to the directory with valid files - defaultRDBMSSites.xml and types.xml.

Posted the picture shows that these files are correct or not existing in the directory defined in your preferences

  • Turn off the storage warnings to compare models

    Hello!

Is there a way of turno off warnings for the differences in storage. I use SQL Developer Data Modeler 4.0.2.15.

The thing is I am importing TEST environment data dictionary and then compare the model of PRODUCTION data. But it is TEST and PROD on different machines with different storage properties. And when I compare them it shows me warnings on storage properties. I need to compare only the basic structure of the objects.

    Thanks in advance!

    Hello

You can configure the templates to compare using the 'Options' tab in the model window "compare." You will find several options for DOF staorage and compare options.

  • FWD entity engineering of relational model name changes?

I changed a name of entity in my logical model after generating a relational model. But I can't understand how having SDDM (3.0.0.665) to propagate this change to the relational model.

In the screen of the engineer to the relational model, if I select the entity changed tree, in the details pane, there is a checkbox next to the Name property (this line indicates the gap between relational and logical name) "Selected" but I can't check it out. Comparison/copy in this same dialog box Options tab, the checkbox next to name is enabled. But, when I send an engineer the name is not changed.

After changing the name of the entity, select the relational model engineer
Down at the bottom, select the tab General options.
Select apply the translation of names
    Engineer

Now the name will change in the relational model.

  • Applying the DW model to changes in coding pages

I turned the PHP files that were provided to me in models DW (CS5) because I need to test the conversion of an existing site that uses coherent models of DW to use these 'models' mandatory. PHP files that gave me are encoded in UTF - 8 (verified), HTML5, with the proper definition in the html code.  When I create a new file to test, HTML5 with UTF-8 encoding, files and templates also appear correctly in DW Live View and the browser. However, when I apply the model to the test page, the encoding gets changed to ANSI format (as identified by Notepad ++). Therefore, accented characters are broken.  It's not happen with other files. Configuration of PHP on the server is set to UTF-8 encoding by default.

PHP files contain a lot includes, as well as some jquery, and the server is IIS7 on a box of Win 2008 Server (with PHP installed, of course). Does anyone have an idea what I'm looking for?  I'm assuming that there may be something in the php or js files causing the hiccups. But I won't be surprised if I missed something simple and do not see the forest for the trees. Thanks for any help.

I seem to have accidentally stumbled upon a work-around - there is not much sense, but it does not tie in with the idea that this is a bug in Dreamweaver. (See the thread at http://forums.adobe.com/message/2272888#2272888 )

When I checked the properties of the page on all files, I also checked that the form of Unicode normalization (in the properties of the Page) has been set at C - which is the default - and he never thought much more.

Well, grasping at straws, I thought I'd try to put (the model) to KC instead, knowing that it was * not * what I wanted, and confirm with the files resulting after the model has been applied to a page that the behavior of the evolution of the characters to entities was certainly not what I wanted. I would like to move away from using character entities.

So I changed to C and re-registered model.

For some reason any - BINGO - once applied, encoding of this file has been changed is no longer in the ANSI format.

I and my colleague tried with many models - whenever a template file is left in the 'proper' Unicode normalization form it gets changed to ANSI format.  If break us by changing to KC, save it, then attach it to switch back on C and save it again, it works as it should in the first place.

Wobbly but get around pretty quick, so I'll breathe a sigh of relief!
