• Cannot connect ESX to HP MSA 1000 box

  I have 2 ESX servers. These two servers are connected to a HP MSA 1000 (that's our mini san)

  On the connection to one of the vi console box, I see the server and 3 comments below.

  On the creating a new virtual machine, I can connect to a data store. There is no connectivity between this box and the table.

  On the connection to the 2nd ESX Server via the VI Client, all guests show as unavailable.

  I can't restart or do something with these clients.

  In addition, trying to add a new virtual machine, I see nothing in the screen of data store. (then becomes invalid)

  Is this a problem with conectivity between the ESX Server (in which comments are unavailable) and the HP table?

  Can what commands I use to tets connectivity to an ESX Server data store and check if data warehouses are available?

  So, I assumed that the aircraft was down and had to be reset. The guys at HP have not upgraded the firmware of the device as they wanted to ensure that there are no compatibility issues with the firmware of the MSA 1000 box cards HBA and firmware.

  Interesting, that I never got to restart my unit to get connectivity. I would upgrade to firmware active/active.

  A strange thing is that this MSA 1000 has 2 controllers, but one of the controller was never connected to the box. Not bad, it is inserted into the MSA1000. It seems therefore, that there is no (active-passive, active) configuration of the array of redundancy. It's something I want to do moving forward.

  Just insert it. Make sure however that the main port HBAS on each host is connected to the primary controller within the MSA. If they are not get you flip flop unless you use Active/Active firmware.

  At this point you can connect via the Web, VI and the ILO in two boxes of ESX Server and Yes we had also a connected Windows box (it was never passed on to me), so now in the windows box, I started the utility of matrices of Compaq and I can see the raid configurations.

  This is how to configure the MSA. You can do not to ESX or the ILO, only a box separated from Windows with qlogic HBA or cable series. That in general, I have connected to my ESX host so I could control things without needing a separate windows box.

  Another question: I noticed that the version of ESX is 3.0 and VI client is 2.0. Also when I connect through the VI client, I see that the tab of the inventory and the administration, I don't see the options such as cluster options and also activate the plug-ins for VMotion and VMupdate Manager. When I connect through the VI client, I login as root.

  Should I be upgrading the infrastructure of the ESX 3.5 and the VI Client to 2.5 to activate all options?

  These options are available in 3.0 and 3.5. Not really sure what you're asking here. But I think it's a separate issue and should have its own thread.

• MSA 1000 SAN newby question

  I work for a small business with limited funds for the construction of a SAN infrastructure.  I currently have a HP DL380 G5 with 16 GB of RAM an HBA and 5 cards of network operating Foundation of ESX 3.5 update 3.  This server is connected to a Brocade Silkworm 200e which is connected to an MSA 1000 with a controller and a slot empy for a second controller with 14 72 GB drives possilble.  I backupexec, backup data and ESX Ranger backup of virtual machines.  I have an extra card to fiber to the server offline (I'm not worried about picking up the network to install a card failure) I have extra GBIC for the switch of fiber optics and additional optical fiber cables.  This server will host about 15 VMs - we are small and the e/s is not too.

  My question is what happens if the MSA 1000 controller module dies?  Do I have to files LUN from scratch and restore backups?  Can I put another module in the second span in an active/passive configuration?  Can I buy a second controller and the sill of LUNS will be there when replacing one defective?  Any information on the strategy here is appreciated.  We are small and need to look at the costs and are willing to give up high availability for a simple secure solution.  I hope I have ave givien enough informaltion.  Thank you.

  SPEX is absolutelly right, if you continue with a single controller and if it fails, you can just swap with a new and all information will be taken fron the disks, if you put another controller in your MSA, then I recommend Flash version 7 firmware controllers. XX which allows an Active/Active configuration

• Problem cartridge compatibility HP Deskjet 1000 ink

  Hi, I bought a printer Deskjet 1000 J110a here in Dubai, United Arab Emirates, Middle East. and replaced new cartridges number 61. the area of ink said deskjet 1000 on it. So I was confident that it would work!

  But it's not and incompatible ink cartridge error permanently. Please can you help me do some settings somewhere to make it work. I can't replace or refund the cartridges, as it had already opened and to install them in my printer. On google, I saw something about changing the locale? Help, please. Using Windows 7 64 bit.

  Hello Adeel.

  You will not be able to make such, HP will only reset the printer to the region that you located, and not for a different region.

  I just upgraded from a Canon 1000 d with a Canon 6 d, during shooting in raw and try to open it with photoshop, it says the camera raw is not compatible and it uses a different format, even if both devices have the CR2 file, I never had problems with my 1000 d. I have photoshop CS5 and have tried to update, but it still does not work. Someone knows how to fix this? I'm a photography student and my deadline is in 2 weeks, so I really need to get to this sorting asap! Advice or tips would be greatly appreciated.

  It uses a different format, even if both devices have the CR2 file

  CR2 is not a fixed file format. It varies with each camera model that make cannon. It is the same for all the camera manufacturers.

  New camera, new file Raw, same Raw file extension format model (CR2 = Canon, NAVE = Nikon, etc.).

  Camera Raw plugin and Adobe application compatibility

  The 1000 d is supported in Camera Raw 5.1 and later - compatible with CS4 and later. CS5 can open these Raw files.

  The 6 d is supported in Camera Raw 7.3 and later - compatible with CS6 and later. CS5 cannot open these Raw files.

  RAW support is never added retroactively to older versions of the Adobe software you will never be able to open files 6 d Raw in CS5.

  Options:

  1. Join the Cloud (Plan of photography) and get Photoshop CC 2015 + Lightroom CC 2015 for $10 / month (as long as your computer can run)
  2. Download the free Adobe DNG converter, convert all the 6 d to DNG Raw files, then change the DNG files in CS5. An extra step for you, but no extra costs.

  Sorry you're having problems with your printer driver. The link that gave you Vijay was the correct link by HP to download the Windows 7 drivers for the printer HP laserjet 1000. If these don't work no please let us know.

  In addition, please keep in mind due to the extreme number of devices that are made for Windows platforms, it is not possible for Microsoft create drivers or to put pressure on the companies for each hardware device that was created. If the driver does not work as shown on the HP site please contact HP and see if they have a newer driver for your pritner other than what was released on September of 2009.

  Sorry to be the bearer of bad news, but the problem you face is that Microsoft provides only pilots with the most basic features and what you really need for these features is the specialized drivers written for the specific in your HP PC hardware - and unfortunately, there is no driver HP Win10 for your PC. HP only guarantees the compatibility of Win10 for machines manufactured after August 2013. HP is not no matter what timetable indicating when, or IF, they will produce drivers for older machines.
  
  This means that your PC is probably NEVER going to be fully functional under Win10 because the drivers he needs for these features simply do not exist!
  
  To restore all the features, you will need to do a reset to factory using HP recovery media to its original operating system pre-installed.

  After the installation of HP cartridge 61XL get incompatble printer cartridges but in the box, it was claearly showing the J110A printer model.

  Thanks for tracking information. Seeing that the first set of cartridges was the 122 HP, those are used for printers zoned for Africa. 61 HP are zoned to North America, so the printer will have to be re zoned to use the HP 61.

  HP OEM graphics cards are made by different manufacturers to HP specifications.

  If you want to try the new graphics cards and then contact the manufacturer and ask about compatibility with your specific motherboard and if the graphic card has a hybrid BIOS. (two issues)

  Not all models of the NVIDIA GTX 750 will take place in every PC.  The NVIDIA GTX 750 is a highly rated graphics card. Others come with a switch to toggle between UEFI and legacy mode and then some might claim to have a hybrid of video BIOS and some claim compatibility to PCI-E 1.1.

  The reality is that there is no guarantee that any particular graphics card will work in any particular PC, even if the graphics card works in other PC or even the same or similar model PCs. Know what the return policy is before you buy.

  A little-known secret MSI is that if the box is "stickers" with a logo of Windows 8 then the graphics card was supposedly a BIOS hybrid.

  Because you have moved, you will not find the HP122 cartridge you used before.  In India, the cartridge of your printer takes is HP802.

  See this Document for ink cartridge compatibility to find these cartridge numbers.

  Please be aware that you'll also need to have the regionalization set your printer changed so that it accepts the cartridges sold in India.

  You will need to contact HP customer care to reset your printer in the region of the India to accept the HP802 cartridge.

  They should do it for you even if your printer is no longer under warranty - because the new cartridges are supported.

  You want to have a set of cartridges of the India on hand when you contact HP customer service.

  I just need a mental health check using an SCXI-1600 instead of a NOR-6251 module.

  I have a SCXI-1000 chassis with 3 cards: (w/1300) module SCXI-1100, SCXI-1104 (w/1300) and SCXI-1126 (w/1327)

  I'm sampling 62 channels of these cards to 1200 samples per second, using LabVIEW 2011 on Win 7 (32 bit).

  We previously had a PCI-6040E to connect to the chassis, but we must move on to a USB interface.  I tried the 6251, but we have serious space and mounting issues since that a portable Setup.  I would use one SCXI-1600 module instead, but I'm afraid of all the severe warnings recommending a 6251 instead.  Are there problems I'll meet?  This seems to be such a basic configuration.

  The 1600 allows me to save space the 6251, its power supply and cable 68 pin linking the two.

  Since you are using Win 7 (32 bit), I plan no compatibility problems. We strongly encourage our customers to use the 6251 because it is a new product with more features, but if you need the SCXI-1600, that should be good as well. I hope this helps!

  Pen Executive H4E45AA has worked with the ElitePad 900.  There's a new pen, #F3G73UT, which is compatible with the ElitePad 1000, but the older pen, the H4E45AA, will work with the new ElitePad 1000?

  No, the Executive pen for the 900 ElitePad will not work with the ElitePad 1000.  The digitizer in the 1000 ElitePad is designed to work with the new support of function stylus point Windows 8.1 and leaves behind for compatibility with the old design of stylus.  For example, here is the reference to the characteristics of the Executive pen for 1000 ElitePad description:

  "Support for the hover of the characteristic sensitivity levels and pressure up to 256".

  The Readme of NOR-IMAQdx V3.4 document states that:

  If you have a gigabit Intel Pro/1000 series NIC Ethernet (NIC), it is recommended to install the High Performance GigE Vision Driver. This will ensure optimized performance and minimal configuration.

  Are all the Intel Pro/1000 series supported (GT - PCI, PT-PCIe) cards? Other series Intel cards are also supported. Is the Council of (chip 82574L) CT Intel Giga (PCIe) supported? What is the difference in performance if this driver is not installed?

  To answer one of your questions, there are many benefits to using the driver of high performance when they are available:

  • Optimized for the data is copied as little as possible with the load low. Pure performance gains are difficult to quantify, because they depend on many conditions. In general, the more packets per second (throughput divided by the size of the packets) and several cameras used, the more the driver gains performance high performance.
  • Optimized for the use of GigE Vision (amount of allocations of memory buffer, frames, packets interrupt settings, etc.). You can change some of these settings in Intel (much more than other providers) drivers, but not all of them, and there is no additional configuration required when you use ours.
  • Works independently of firewall configuration
  • Return of lost or damaged data packets are processed at a level General much weaker with much less latency and fresh
  • Uses frames for GigE Vision only without affecting the rest of the network stack (which allows some jumbo frames on a systemic basis may cause some annoying problems of network)
  • In versions of Windows prior to Vista, several cameras connected to multiple network interfaces could not make good use of the automatic link-local-address. With our High-Performance driver that you can fill multiple ports into a single virtual device that allows you to increase your overall bandwidth as easily as a single port.

  Now, regarding the interfaces are supported, we support most of the Pro/1000 series that are and have been widely used. In general, the only we can guarantee are those which is integrated in the maps that NEITHER sells because we can make our own validation on them. Because if this, our driver INF files are confined to specific chipsets that we validated internally. The best way to ensure compatibility would be to get the cards of NOR.

  However, ff, you have a copy of IMAQdx installed, you can view the nigevk.inf file (typically in C:\Program Files (x 86) \National Instruments\NI - IMAQdx\Staging\NI GigE Vision) to see what PCI IDs are listed in the INF file. PCI IDs are the best I can advise because Intel labelling of products is not always clear what chipset and the revision, the card has on it.

  82574L is listed in the INF of our driver currently high performance as PCI ID 0x10D3, so if you have this one even it * must * be supported. I recommend the GT line because 32-bit / 33 Mhz PCI doesn't have the bandwidth to support traffic GigE Vision.
