Compatibility of tape PowerVault 124 t.?

It's maybe a stupid question, but I couldn't find any information about it on the internet. Tried to look for an array of media compatibility but it shows only turns out Dell strips with the types of bands (with a few broken links). HP media: the site also lists PowerVault 124 t. as supported.

Here's the question. The tape drive takes strips of different brand like HP, IBM, as long as the type (3 LTO, LTO 4, etc.) is supported by the PowerVault?

Yes, the media are standard across the range. He just brands and prices.

    Hello Stonewall40,

Regarding the PV124T power when a replacement is required under the warranty, we will replace the unit.  Now, I guess you're out of warranty on the group, in this case, I would say that you check online because there are some dealers who sell just the charger power supply 9V for the PV124T.

  • Compatibility of tape/carrier LTE-MKRY2LL/A

My wife and I currently have two iPhone 6s, we bought at Verizon. I find anywhere what model numbers matches to the top with these phones. The settings on the phone he lists as MKRY2LL/A, but I can't find that anywhere on the Apple site. Verizon has terrible service where we moved and I want to know if we could use these with ATT without any problems. I have no idea what LTE bands these phones to use nor do I know where to find information. Any help would be useful. Thank you!

  • PowerEdge 2950 & SAS card compatibility

We have a Poweredge Server 2950 W2K3 SP2 running. The server already has a PERC 5 / i controller as well as a card SCSI Ultra320 SCSI Adaptec 39320 a. is there a SAS card I could buy for this server and the ability to connect to a Powervault 124 t. with a SAS LTO-5 drive system?

    Hello Clamped_IT,

You can put in a SAS 6 gb card in the 2950 & get the PV 124 t LTO5 to run because this is a valid configuration.  What you need to do is to make sure you have a 8 X PCIe available free map of SAS6gb must go to the 8 x PCIe.  Now according to risers that are in your 2950, they come in 2 different options, see below:

Three connectors for expansion on two different mounting options:

    Two 64 bit/133 MHz PCI - X and 1 x 8 PCI Express full height, half length

    or

    2 x 8 PCI Express and a x 4 PCI Express

Here is a link to our compatibility matrix & if you look at page 8, it shows you which card is necessary for a PV t 124. FTP://FTP.Dell.com/manuals/common/PowerVault-124t_Reference%20Guide_en-us.PDF

  • Cleaning PV 124 t band

I have a Powervault 124 t. in a remote site, so all knowledge is word of mouth. The reader keeps asking a cleaning cassette - over and over again. The local technician did repeatedly, and even after the purchase of a new cleaning cassette, it repeatedly calls for cleaning even after several attempts. Is it possible that we overlook something, or is the car (since 2006) toast?

Wasn't there a problem for years with the help of DELL not brand cleaning cassettes?

    suggestions welcome...

Since the unit is nearly six years old, I think it is simply worn out. Let's try the firmware first

  • Cannot inventory Dell 124 t Autoloader

    Hi all

We organize ESX4i on a Dell R710, with a single Small Business Server 2003 VM.

Small Business SERVER 2003 is running ARCServe 11.1 and connects to an autoloader Dell Powervault 124 t. use SCSI passthrough on a Dell SAS 5/E adapter.

Everything works very well and more I can't get ARCServe to perform an inventory of the autoloader - returns with a message of ORDER ILLEGAL.

I can get around this by putting all the records back to the correct slots and then re - run the Add Device Wizard.

The system will then work fine until a Ribbon is added or removed from the autoloader, in which ARCServe is unable to say that the band has disappeared.

This configuration has worked perfectly until we P2Ved the server in VMware.

The ADF has a barcode reader and running the latest Firmware from Dell and SBS2003 has the latest driver of ADF.

    Any ideas?

    Abuscomp.

    Welcome to the communities.

PASSTHROUGH for bands and Autoloaders is not supported with SAS. Only parallel SCSI. It worked for some, but it is not any VMware support. Your software is up to date? I think he's old in some versions.

  • RAID works using MD1200 r.620 and 6 GB/s SAS HBA?

We have a r.620 with Dell SAS HBA already in which is attached to a tape of 124 t library.

Just got a MD1200 and I plugged in the other port on the SAS HBA.  I can see the drives in Windows Disk Manager.  I can also see Open Manage, but there is no option to use RAID functions or create virtual discs.  Should there be?

In fact, OpenManage said "Connector 0 (no RAID)" with regard to the SAS 6 GB/s HBA.   I searched online for drivers for this card that allow RAID and can not find.  Am, I watered?   How the RAID to work on the MD1200?

    Hello wardog25,

For the MD1200 you use a PERC card because it will allow that you create a raid array. The SAS 6hba that is used for your 124 t isn't a raid card, so you will not be able to create a raid on this map. For a MD1200, we recommend that you use a PERC H800. Here is a link to the Guide of interoperability for the MD1200 & if you look at page 2, it lists the supported raid controllers. FTP://FTP.Dell.com/manuals/all-products/esuprt_ser_stor_net/esuprt_powervault/PowerVault-md1200_Reference%20Guide_en-us.PDF

Here is a link to buy a PERC H800 if you need.

  • ESXi 3.5 on Dell Poweredge 2950 and Dell 6 GB/s card SAS HBA?

    Hello.

    I'm under ESXi 3.5 u4 on a Dell poweredge 2950 machine.

    I recently bought a Dell Powervault 124 t. autoloader with a HBA SAS 6 GB/s card.

I installed the card SAS in the PE 2950, but now I can't seem to see in ESXi.

Can someone help me with this?

    Thank you very much.

I'm afraid that the Dell technician is correct.

Someone at - it a link on ESX support not directly connected devices?

This isn't the issue. The question is: do you have a link that shows devices supported?

Reference Dell does support the autoloader Powervault 124 t. on ESXi 3.5?

Have you checked the VMware HCL already, if the SAS controller is included/supported for ESXi version, you are running?

There are a few articles which have tape readers running with Adaptec SCSI controllers, I don't see anything for ESXi 3.5 with a SAS controller still...

Maybe there's a better chance to make this work with ESX 4.x with VMDirectPath

  • How can I run extended Diagnostics?

    I have a PowerVault 124 t. (LTO-4-120-1)

LCD screen is throwing error 39 TAFlag. Document Reference Dell says run 'Extended Diagnostics'

What? How can I do? (I don't see anything on the screen LCD of the unit or RMU that mentions something like)

    Hello JustTryinToGetItToWork,

Extended diagnosis refers to all the tests running on the system to see if they success or fail.  Now, for technical support, error flag 39, it is best to remove all but 3 of the 124 t PV test media and then run the Random moves test about 30-50 cycles and see if the error happens again.  If the error occurs again then in most cases there is a problem with the drive and the drive will most likely be replaced because he has a mechanical problem.

  • Tape library PowerVault TL2000 & drive LT05 HH

    Hi all

I checked the firmware on my PowerVault TL2000 tape, 9t 30 which is updated. I'm looking to update the firmware of the player LT05 HH, which is obsolete and has the d2as version. I can't find the firmware for LT05 HH, I found LT05 but without HH.

I wonder if the two LT05 and HH LT05 would have the same firmware?

    Hello adeelarifbhatti,

The difference between the 2 files, is that this LTO5_E6Q3.fc.ro file is for fiber channel drives while the other file is for SAS drives.

  • In esxi 4.1 tape drive compatibility

This is probably a pretty basic question. I'm relatively new to vmware and trying to determine if our tape drive scsi 160/320 BHBBX-EY Quantum DLT - V4 model is supported in esxi 4.1 (using the free version). Looking at the hardware compatibility matrix, I see our offer of scsi cards but am not finding references for the readers themselves. This is a matter that if the scsi card is supported, then the tape drive should work, or I am simply not find the list of tape drives? It is a single disc, not an autoloader. Thanks in advance. -Bruce

Yes, no worries about the points.  Let us know how it worked.

  • PowerVault TL2000 library - tape drive that appears twice in Device Manager

Just installed a new TL2000 on a Dell R630 server. HBA SAS 6 GB/s using. Windows 2008 R2. In Device Manager I see two "unknown medium changer" and two tape drives (IBM ULT3580-HH4). But in reality there is a library and a player.

Windows has allocated an id different SCSI for each 'drive' and 'change '. Does anyone know why Windows detects two devices when there is only one?

(see the screenshot of the attachment)

    Hello Martin,

Cable how do you have coming from the back of the tape drive?  If you connected a SAS cable to the two ports at the rear of the car, then it's your problem because you need only the disk IDE oucederomsurlesecondport be wired at the time.
