Compatibility with Equium P200 RAM

Hello

Is PC2 - 6400 S-666-12-1E with Equium P200-1ED compatible?
I don't know that I asked before I bought it, but now it does not start. So I want to know if it is because they are defective or got bad advice.

Thank you

H Jacke

It is not easy to give you the right answer because Toshiba offers info on the RAM modules tested only.
What I found in the specification is information that your machine can be upgraded up to 2 GB of RAM and the compatible RAM modules are:
1 GB-DDR2-667-PA3512U-1M1G > Kinston KTT667D2 / 1 G
2 GB DDR2-667-PA3513U-1M2G
512 MB DDR2-667-PA3511U - 1 M 51

Unfortunately there is no information about the other brands. You can buy it and test it. If there is a compatibility issue just return it.

  • Two questions with Equium P200-178

    Hi all

I've owned my faithful * P200-178 * (PSPB2E-001002AV) for a few years now with no problems until recently. It has windows vista Home premium installed.

First of all the built-in wireless (PA3613U-1MPC) stopped working after that a "friend" he fell! The switch works ok, but the light no longer works. I reinstalled the driver and it did make a difference. A message appears saying that the wireless adapter was not installed during the installation of the software. I even tried a model from the same wireless adapter and it does not work. What is strange, it is when you use free configuration that he knows that the switch is either on or off, but can't find the adapter. The Device Manager also can not find.

Second, after that my children has uploaded an image to their homework the notebook had a nervous breakdown! I have all the latest antivirus software and check the system on a regular basis. The image has been printed and has now been removed. I used to put the laptop and turn it off with the power switch and not by windows, stop facilities. This no longer works. After lifting the lid, press the power button / nothing happens. However pressing the icon of music "in a box with 6 Sparks coming from it" (sorry for the pathetic description) the portable lights. Windows Vitsa appears and first seems to be ok. During boot a message saying:

    Checking file system on \\?volume {ef *-long serial number not shown in the case its unique-806 *}
The type of file system is NTFS.
    volume label is winRE.

One of the drives should be checked for consistency. You
may cancel the disk check, but it is strongly recommended
    that you continue
Windows will now check the disk.

CHKDSK checks the files (etc, etc, etc.)

File segment 24,25,26 and 27 are unreadable, are repaired (I think that the info is too fast to read) and possibly boots. The laptop restarts now, too.

WHAT CAN I DO IF ANYTHING TO SOLVE THESE PROBLEMS / QUESTIONS?

    Thanks in advance

    Hello

In my opinion in the first case, there must be some physical damage and I do not think there is something you can do to fix it. I guess that laptop must be disassembled and port/switch WLAN must be controlled by technicians.

About second question I can not say much, but in my opinion you should back up all your important data and reinstall the OS using recovery media delivered. With clean OS preinstalled, you can test the WLAN functionality again and the functionality of the power button.

I know that this is a more radical method, but do what you will be able to test the functionality of the laptop with the State factory and without some strange files or entries in OS preinstalled.

What do you think of all this?

  • Equium P200-1ED - Question on the possible 2nd HD and RAM

    Hello

I've got the Equium P200-1ED and in the manual (page with diagrams showing the characteristics of the laptop), it mentions a second hard drive.
I know my P200 does not have a second mounted drive so does that say space to eventually mount a second drive?

Also, is it true that the max supported ram is 2 GB?
It would be nice to upgrade the standard 2 GB Ram.

    Thank you

    Hello

Well, the second HDD depends on the single model.
The second HARD drive Bay must be placed close to the first HARD drive Bay.
You can remove the cover that secures the second HDD and can check if the necessary controller is available on your laptop.
Please note that the second HARD drive Bay could be available but without the HARD necessary interface disc.

    Regarding the upgrade of memory;
If your laptop was equipped with Intel 945 GM/PM Express chipset or higher, you can update the memory up to 4GB. If the laptop was equipped with an Intel 943GML Express chipset, you can upgrade the memory up to 2 GB.

But note; 32-bit Windows system will recognize only 3GB due to the 32-bit Microsoft Windows operating system limitation.

    Best regards

  • Re: Equium P200 close issue with Vista SP1

My Equium P200 seems to have developed a problem when stopping down.

If I select 'Shut Down' option in the Shut Down menu then all revenues, but while the laptop restarts itself and there will be a 'blue screen of death' teling me he does a memory dump physical.

When it is complete Notepad starts and there is a message saying that Windows (Vista SP1) has recovered from a serious problem.

Any ideas on how to fix?

    Thank you

AFAIK SP1 could create serious problems because of the problems of compatibility between some drivers and tools.

Have you noticed the same issue without SP1 installed?

I think you should check this!

  • Equium P200 with WXP, no ACPI

    Hello

I recently bought a new HARD drive to replace the Vista operating system.

I used nlite to make an iso of the drivers SATA, SP2, and XP Home.
I installed XP, SP3 and then all the drivers concerned from Toshiba. Especially the PC is fine, but I have a couple questions.

    They are:
1 button will turn PC on or off, but not shut down the OS before turning off.
    2. when I stop XP I get the message (Win98), "it is now turn off your computer"! (Both of these may be (?) related).
    3. in eating patterns Options\Power I have only the possibility of the turn the HARD drive and monitor and then in the Advanced tab at all no options!
    4. with the exception of point 1 I have no control of the any of the other easy access above the function keys buttons. Toshiba controls are configured but do nothing!

I studied these problems and it would seem that the APCI perhaps the corupt? I can't find any mention of ACPI in the BIOS (Phoenix V2.3). Also, I can't find any reference to ACPI in including hidden devices Device Manager! It was also suggested to upgrade the BIOS to ACPI compatible version?

The only clues I can give, is that even if the pilot pwrsav the pwrsav driver installed OK - in twice caused a fatal error (BSOD) on the PC. To restart, as Toshiba Power Saver icon in Control Panel, but the opening gave me a Fatal Exception error message. I then restored the system to remove the program.
In my opinion that ACPI and energy savings are related, please inform me if I am wrong. (Items 1 to 4 can all be linked)?

XP has apparently ACPI capabilities but I can't find anything on the PC in this regard.
With Vista that I had no problem with mentioned previously not mentioned and everything worked perfectly.
Your help would be much appreciated...

    Hello

It seems that the Toshiba UE driver page provide a special Win XP BIOS version 5.40 for Equium P200.
If you are using Win XP, its recommended to use this BIOS.

In addition, the page provides the pilot Power Saver Power Saver utility for Win XP.

  • Equium P200 does not recognize the wireless network with Win XP card

    Dear team

I recently installed windows XP on my Equium P200 (he had originally vista).
Now, I have a problem with the Atheros wireless card. The computer does not recognize the wireless card is installed. I tried uninstalling the drivers and reinstalling, but nothing works. In the hardware Manager, I get an error code 10 when you try to install the drivers. Can someone please help.

    Thank you

Are you sure that you have an Atheros WLan card installed on this laptop computer at 100%?
I recommend you to check the bottom of the unit. There are labels with information about the wireless network card! I think that there is a number. Then google for this number and you should get information on the wireless network card.

Eventually he s one card Intel. | In this case, you should try to install the driver from Intel.

  • Satellite A-C55-1JL - compatibility with the ram module

I want to upgrade the RAM in my Toshiba C55-A-1JL. Standard module is Hynix PC3L bitensión 4 GB. But on the slot, I saw the text "1.5V. I bought the 4 GB of Kingston module with identical parameters as Hynix module, only the voltage is different. Kingston module is only 1.5V voltage.

My question is: what voltage supports the mainboard that laptop? Can I use this add-on from Kingston with original Hynix ram module?

    Standard module's voltage Hynix PC3L

This means that the module supports 1.35v or 1.5V

Can I use this add-on from Kingston with original Hynix ram module?

  • Processor upgrade and Equium P200-1ED

    Hello

I installed an SSD of 64Go and installed Windows 7 with the user and the data folders program on a SD card installed as USB key into the Expresscard slot. I also put in 4 GB RAM

It is still slow to navigate the Web through wired Ethernet. So I plan to upgrade the processors as the neck of the bottle seems to be permanently on the processor which is a T2310 Dual Intel @1.46 GHz.

So the question is what is the next possible CPU upgrade?

    Thank you

Update CPU has no influence on the Internet.
    It's done.
If you have a slow internet connection, check the flow of data to your internet provider.

    Regarding the upgrade of CPU:

Upgrading the CPU is certainly not supported by the laptop manufacturers. But this does not mean that another CPU would not work. A lot of people here in the forum attempted to upgrade the processor and in some cases, it worked.
It will be important to know which chipset was built in this Equium P200-1ED.

I m not very well, but I guess that its Intel GL960 Express Chipset. Please correct me if I m wrong the chipset must support the new CPU, otherwise the new processor cannot be used.

Page Intel ARK provide information on supported processors
    http://Ark.Intel.com/products/29830

In addition the new processor must be supported by the BIOS. If the BIOS would not support new CPU, the laptop would not start even if the chipset would be compatible with the new processor.

As you can see, the CPU upgrade isn't easy because of pending issues concerning the compatibility issues between different parts for laptop.

By the way: I am wondering about the upgrade to 4 GB RAM because this device should support max 2 GB of RAM

  • Equium P200 - recently the webcam has stopped working

I have an Equium P200 under Vista 32 bit-
Recently the web cam stopped working so I tried to reinstall the driver.
I downloaded the driver from Toshiba but it wouldn't install properly, it appears as an unknown device in Device Manager.

I have done some research and there may be a compatibility problem with Vista.

Someone eles has the same problem or can help you?

    Hello

    What webcam do you mean?
Do you mean the webcam Chicony internal or 3rd party external webcam?

The internal Chicony webcam is fully compatible with the Vista operating system and the software/driver should install correctly!

Try to clean the OS using CCLeaner after you remove the software for the webcam of the system.
After the new reboot, download Chicony webcam software again from the page of European driver of Toshiba and try to install it again.

  • Equium P200-11R and integrated Wlan

    Hello
I recently bought an Equium P200-11R. However, I have a problem with the wireless connection. The laptop does not connect to my wireless network no matter where I place it! When I enable it and try to connect it tells me that there are no networks. When I look for the networks, sometimes I can see my neighbours networks. Sometimes I see my network but if I try to connect, it still tells me that not available networks or diagnoses a problem which cannot repair Windows. After spending several hours looking for a solution, I plugged an old Belkin 54 g USB adapter in and presto, I am connected! I always use the Belkin after 8 days because the Wlan on Board will not connect me, (he did briefly to connect to the network once, for about 15 minutes).
I've been connected wireless for about 6 years with different desktop computers and laptops. For the past 3 years, I was on a wireless router. I configured several PC to work on this network and have also implemented several wireless networks to friends and families, so I hope that now I know about what I'm doing!
The Wlan switch is active and the orange light comes on. FN + F8 gives me the assurance that the Wlan is on. Device Manager tells me that the card is active and functional.
The Wlan on board is an Atheros AR5007EG and the wireless router is a BT Voyager 2110.
As I can connect all the time with the Belkin, I guess the problem is A) a problem of compatibility between the WiFi and the router, or B) the Wlan is defective. I looked in the compartment slot to try to establish if the antenna is connected, but the map is not visible, but it can look different to what I'm used to (does anyone know where is the wireless network card)? (It has Vista installed incidentally).

I really don't want to take the pc that I now put in up to my needs and it is a very good machine.

    Can anyone help please?

    Best regards

So it's good that your issue has been resolved. According to me, other people with the same problem could use information to heal their own "disease". :)

  • Equium P200-1ED is capable of powering connected on USB devices?

    (1) possibly associated with my previous question - what is someone able to confirm if the Toshiba Equium P200-1ED is able to power external devices connected via its USB ports?

    (2) all 6 USB ports can supply simultaneously 6 external USB devices?

    What's wrong?

    Please notify.

I assume you ask again for advice related to this issue:
    http://forums.computers.Toshiba-Europe.com/forums/message.jspa?MessageID=115026#115026

To my knowledge, all USB ports supports the USB standard and provides 500mA.
But sometimes a USB device requires more than 500 my and then you will have to use an external power supply for the USB device.

Sometimes it s advisable to use a USB hub that supports clean power.

    (2) can all be used 6 USB ports to power simultaneously 6 external USB devices?
As I said, the external USB devices possibly some 3rd would need more like 500mA and in this case, you must use an external power supply to USB devices.

    Good bye

I have a new Equium P200-1ED and it drove me crazy how he could hang with Vista then I reformatted and had to create a cd with nlite xp and I installed SP37005 after installation of xp pro that I don't see anywhere wireless connection.

Intel wireless lan identification utility: says no wireless LAN hardware is installed or the utility could detect it not so installed. ?

    Hello

I guess that you´ve has installed all the drivers on the Drivers Toshiba download site. A suggestion on my part:

Go to www.intel.com, and download the latest LAN driver wirelessly from their site. Try it with this driver and give some feedback if it worked or not.
Usually, the card should work with the drivers intel authentic.

  • Equium P200 - several identical directories (void) & inappropriate content

Vista Home overcharging was preinstalled on my computer Equium P200.

I found that multiples with the same name (sub-) directories are created over time without any input (obvious) myself.

Different, although files may contain these directories with the same name (void) identical (subsubdirectories).

I tried to remove the (seemingly) redundant directories (void), but over time, they reappear.

Also, I noticed that the shortcuts/files to move or disappear from directories (void))

For example, until a couple of days, that I had a set of favorites in a subdirectory under (my) user directory - the subdirectory "disappeared" as well as shortcuts.

As a secondary issue, I tried different ways to test my system - system restore; Memory; Hard drive; SFC system, but nothing seems abnormal, except that-
the System File Checker, said that she could not solve a few flaws and that he had put the details in a log file. Unfortunately, no matter what I do I can't open logfile - the system of the forbidden even if I am registered as an administrator.

The only thing I did is to use the sine of ease of startup repair I don't know what are the implications of this option.

All the suggestions and help would be appreciated

    concerning

    Hello

According to your message you absolutely don't know what directories (void) this is and what software has created this directories.

I think an application or software that is installed on your laptop can create these files/directories as a windows update does things

In individual cases, these files/folders are only for temporal use. In this case, you can remove this
I m using a free tool called CCLeaner. It cleans the registry of BONE and temporal files stored on the HARD disk.
    Maybe you should test it
