compilation albums

Why my compilation albums are placed in a section that is unique? I'd rather they were in alphabetical order like the rest of my albums. Anyone know how I can expose my music as I want.

The people at Apple will continue to spoil the iTunes format or go back to the way it was before, when you could find what you want in the place where it is supposed to be?

I use an older version of iTunes, so I do not experience this problem. What happens if you remove the indicator compilation and instead assign the album a common album like Various Artists artist?

  • How can I make the individual work for each song on a compilation album of show when I browse my playlists?

I get a lot of my music from Soundcloud where individual songs are released by artists often with none of the albums.

So, when you add these songs on iTunes I the name of the album for each of them SoundCloud despite the fact that each of them have different names track/artists/works of art.  When I select the option to indicate that the song is part of a compilation album, even if the individual work remains in each song and shows when I play the song, looking at my playlists, songs from my compilation album of SoundCloud will only show album art compilation rather than the individual works for each song.  How can I my iTunes will show that each individual work?

You can't while retaining spacing as part of this same album. If you want each art individual to show then tracks them to a unique combination of the album title and album artist. If the tracks are underway on an older iPod then the tracks on the album must be unique.

  • Suddenly absent compilation albums

For some unexplained reason, all my compilation albums are suddenly missing in my opinion main albums. In addition, all the songs of these compilations are not viewable in the main display of albums.

You can only see the clicking on artists-> Compilations.

    Why.

    Explain.

iTunes 12.4 has changed how compilations are managed and has at least one bug:

    • When the flag of "the Album is a compilation...". "is defined and the value of the artist of the Album is empty, these albums are listed at the end of any view album sorting by artist, under a separate"Compilations"section
    • However, albums that match this pattern will disappear from the view Albums sorted by something other than artist - we must assume that it is certainly a bug
    • iTunes grouping/sorting algorithm now seems to be to assess the values of the pieces of a compilation album of the artist :
      • an album that isn't really a compilation (i.e., all the tracks are attributed to the same artist) will be sorted by artist name in the flag of "the Album is a compilation...". "is defined
      • the same is true for the albums where most of the tracks is attributed to an artist
    • There seems to be some variations in the results when the indicator "the Album is a compilation...". "is defined and a value is entered in the Album artist field

    Possible remedies:

    • roll back to 12.3.3
    • wait for the next update will fix (hopefully) bug 12.4
    • change your library such as the compilations are grouped together by defining a common value of the artist of the Album (for example, "Various Artists") and by disabling the flag "Album is a compilation...". "(although this will not work for users of the iPod Classic and other models more older iPod that do not support label of the Album artist ).
  • In the media player in Windows 7, how can you re - tag compilation albums titles so that they appear under different albums?

I pulled a few mix and CD compilation; Windows Media Player automatically tag songs as belonging to those mix/compilation albums.  I would rather sort tracks in their original albums from (source).  For example, Fleetwood Mac, 'The Chain' should be track 7 "rumor," not the runway 18 of "The very best of Fleetwood Mac".  I used to be able to do so through "Advanced Tag Editor", but this option is not available in Windows 7 Media Player.  When I try to change the news of the album to a particular song (whether through "Find Album Info" or by manually changing), Windows Media Player changes songs of the compilation album of this new title of the album.  Drag / move does not work either - I do not have the album that I want to transfer the securities to the compilation.

How to separate tracks to a compilation CD and sort them in new albums?

    Thank you!

  • compilation albums no longer appear in the window of the albums

I have several CD compilations which, so I checked box to compilations.  Just recently, they stopped to appear when I show the music library of the album.  I thought they disappeared, but I found them by chance.  Why do they have to separate them?

Nobody here can answer why Apple chose to make this change, or even why 12.4.0 came out with a very obvious bug in the revised feature (where albums that were "part of a compilation" defined indicator disappear from the Albums view when sorted by anything other than the artist.)

However, its interesting to note that the results of these changes can be completely avoided by updating your library so that the flag of "the Album is a compilation...". ' is not used, grouping these albums instead by setting a common value of the artist of the Album (for example, "Various Artists").  Only users for whom this isn't a viable solution are those who have iPod Classics or other iPod models more alumni who do not support the Album artist tag.

  • 1 album cover compilation album, but every song on this album has its own cover?

    Hello

This problem may seem arbitrary (and I guess it is), but id love to sort out if possible.

The short version, it is a singer called The Weeknd comes to present a just a few songs at random, not attached in an album. I all in my iTunes, in an album appropriately titled them "Random The Weeknd songs". Until recently, ive just had the album cover for songs like this (at some point I would like to delete the ' text of Apple's Music Festival):

But then a few days ago another song out and I really liked the album art. I thought it would be a shame to not have this package and have to replace it with the one above. But if I added this new song, on the album for Weeknd Random songs, iTunes sometimes displays 2 works different album (or however many different works of art are in the album; Ive had this problem before).

Basically, I want to have over album art as the 'face' of the album, then that is what shows in the main browser on my iPhone and iTunes, but if I play a song in this album, he then shows the album art of this individual song (for example on the iPhone, it shows the specific work of some song).

Would be another way to think about it, when you buy the DVD of Star Wars box set, they come in a sleeve with a generic cover of star wars, but then inside, it's every film in a box with individual coverage of each film.

Ive tried to tinker with it and Googling but cant seems to Word which is good enough to find all the results. Any help would be greatly appreciated

    Thank you very much.

You can give each track in an album of his own work, but the album is displayed normally under the art of the first track. An individual work can display during playback. Command-shift when you click on the thumbnail of small work to get a fully resizable window.

  • Missing albums for the album post upgrade

Since iTunes updated itself to 12.4, Miss me a lot of albums for the Album. As far as I know, these are all compilation albums. They show to songs and artists view (where they are grouped under 'Compilations'). I have the settings set to "Title" overview, so I don't understand why iTunes is unable to recognize them. Thanks for any help...

This seems to be a bug in the current building with the compilations are not if you use: View > as > Albums and view > sort by > title. Changing options should reveal hidden items.

  • iTunes not to display all the photos in the grid view

Latest version of iTunes, just download 12.4.0.119. A gap and more 1 600 of my albums appear any more in the grid view.  They are still there on the HARD disk, and they appear in the artist's view.  Everyone has noticed this bug.  Perhaps no Apple software engineering testing with as many tracks as I have in my collection?  All displayed correctly in earlier versions of iTunes, so the last update broke something. I reported the bug to Apple, but I guess they get thousands of suggestions every day...

This happens to me also, and in my case it seems that marked as 'Compilation' albums are not displayed in the grid view. Is this the case for you also? Music is still there and, as you say, can be accessed via the menu "artist". Probably just a bug that I do not see why it would make sense to hide the compilations in the album view.

  • ! Difficult problem!  Move iTunes songs to the empty folder to automatiquementala

    Hello everyone.

It's my frist time write a discussion here, desperately looking for your help

I checked the other similar discussions and I can find none, that has the same problem as mine.

Anyway... my iTunes is updated and therefore my iPhone 5 s.

I've always used automatically add them to the iTunes folder to add music from my iTunes library.

(after that music has been transferred to the ' automatiquementala file it IMMEDIATELY disappeared, but the song was in the iTunes library)

One day, as I noticed a few circles on the left side of my songs in the iLibrary. These songs were not playable, and whenever I

sync my phone I got (100errors) that the songs could not be transferred to my phone. (Song couldnot be used because the original file cannot be found. You want to locate)

Even if I wanted to move each song, I would choose the automatically add to iTunes folder (BUT ITS EMPTY). I can't find the music anywhere on my hard drive.

I gave up those songs and decided to download again them once I find the time.

Recently, I backed up and restored my iPhone 5 s. After I restore, I noticed that a lot of my songs did not appear on her

(those who did not appear in the iLabrary too).

Today I decided to download all these "missing songs" and it took me at least 3 hours. All happy I've put them in the damned automatically add to iTunes folder, plugged my iphone with itunes and sync. After syncing I started testing in my iphone and I noticed that only 20 of 70 + songs were on my phone (most of them was gray and unplayable, so I resynced, that did the trick). But other songs were not there! I checked my doomed automatiquementala file once its empty and I don't know what to do with my life haha

Please guys, help. And if you can do it step by step, because im not really a pro with computers

and other things (btw im using a Windows 7 or 8 I think haha)

The folder add automatically to iTunes acts as an area of "file" for users (and other software).  When the files are placed in add it automatically to iTunes they will be handled by iTunes (immediately if it is currently running, otherwise next time that he istarted) and added to the iTunes library.  The files placed in add automatically to iTunes will be moved to the standard locations within the structure of library iTunes, determined by:

    • the iTunes Media folder location setting in Edit > Preferences > advanced, and
    • the values of metadata in media files are added.

If you use the default location of folder media (C:\Users\username\Music\iTunes\iTunes Media) then your files will be moved to folders named according to this model:

    • C:\Users\ username \Music\iTunes\iTunes Media\Music\ artist \ album

The only exception to this is the case where the indicator 'Part of a compilation' is defined in the media files - the names of standard folders will then be:

    • C:\Users\ username \Music\iTunes\iTunes Media\Music\Compilations\ album

If you have selected the option "organize files...". "in Edit > Preferences > advanced files, if necessary, is renamed to use the disc number, track number and the name of the song as a basis for file names.  Very long folder/file names will be truncated to 36 characters (which can have strange side effects if you have two albums whose names only differ after that limit exceeded - you end up with a folder containing two album titles).

After the addition of new media in your library, the add automatically to iTunes folder must be empty: the only exception is when the media files are in a format that iTunes cannot handle or the files are corrupt: in this case, you will see a subfolder "not added".

In your case, it seems more likely that the files have been added to your iTunes library you or another piece of software has moved or renamed multimedia files, or that the disk on which the files were placed is no longer available on iTunes.  If you can post (using screenshots of preference):

    • Your settings in Edition > Preferences > advanced
    • The location held by iTunes for one of the tracks that cannot be located (for this, right click on one of the songs display next to his name, select Get Info, when you see this message (of course with the name of your song "disappeared")):

Click on no, then click on the file tab - the location information that is held in the iTunes database will appear at the end of the list in the window, starting with "file://localhost", like this:

Then it should be possible to diagnose your problem and propose a resolution itself.

  • Cannot change the metadata

    iTunes 12.3.2.35

MacBook Pro 13 inch Mid 2014 retina

    V OS X El Capitan 10.11.2

I recently moved my iTunes library to a new NAS drive.

I can see all of my music library, however I can not change the metadata all the more lost all my album art and also a few compilation albums are more contained in the same album.

I tried to find answers on the internet, but have had no luck yet.

    And help greatly appreciated!

    Thank you

    Chris.

I'll add this to my list 'embarrassing problems that there are good reasons not to use a NAS with iTunes.  There are many other positions with the SIN issues that are all also inexplicable.

Lose the work suggests to me that you did not move correctly from the library. How did you do?  Moving a library: quick response if you use preferences by default iTunes settings: copy the folder integer iTunes (and to ensure that all of its subfolders and files) intact at the other disk, hold down the option/ALT key to start iTunes and on request to select a library select iTunes Library.itl file in the copied folder.

  • Why some songs are not grayed out on the tab for you on my iPhone 6?

Today, I opened the Apple music application. On the tab for YOU, I did a search for Anthology: through the year, by Tom Petty. Eight of the 34 songs are gray and will not play. How can I fix it?

Background - you can not. This happens with a lot of albums. Sometimes it's because the artist is their label doesn't want certain songs/albums (Yes, even part of the albums) transmitted continuously. Sometimes, it's because these titles are on other albums that are not allowed to be steamed (although this usually happens with compilation albums).

I just did a quick check and Yes, 8 songs are grayed out. But these same songs are also grayed out on his greatest hits albums. So I guess they are albums that either, he does not want to be listened to or perhaps a different wording.

  • The song repeats

Received my Fuze Chrustmas fo and worked flawlessly until this afternoon. Now for some reason any during playback of the artist he randomly play the same song twice in a row. I asked that she could play and random play is disabled. I used it the same in the past to listen to a whole album of artists or albums. Don't know why repeat it today. Any ideas?

Make sure that the song is not on the aircraft in two places - as on the internal memory and microSD card. Or you don't have a copy on a compilation album and album of the artist. Or if the group is called the group in one place and just group in another... things like that.

Remember, the "rocket" is the reading of the tags, so if you 01-artist-Firstsong and 01-artist-Album-Firstsong, you'd still see the same information in tags, but the "rocket" think it was two different files.

  • 'Album' back field for compilations

Hello, there is no way that I can view compilations in order to launch album year as the year of production of each track can be different decades of the release date of the compilation CD.  I recently asked Apple via iTunes comments they add a new field to ALBUM YEAR that can be filled manually.  If left blank, the default would be also present, the year on the latest track in the album.  In this way, all the individual songs can be sorted in the year they were recorded, and at the same time, all photos can be sorted in the year they were released.

I have a large collection of over 32 000 titles for this level of sophistication of sorting is important to me. I went to the effort to have the correct year assigned to every single track in my collection, but this means compilations especially appear anywhere near their for grid album release date, when displayed in chronological order...

If you accept this additional field is a good idea, please also submit a request for improvement of your comments to Apple via the iTunes application. Please copy and paste this content if you do not want to write your own presentation.

I agree that it would be a useful improvement although I prefer to see an original release (a, m, j) date and edition release date.  However, all the iTunes data model metadata is unlikely to support this because it is not able to recognize 'album' as a primary concept - stands at the level of individual tracks, and it is these metadata that are used for the band's songs in albums in the presentation layer.

As a solution, I use a somewhat esoteric pattern that fills the field of Sorting Album with a concatenation of (the most important artist of Sort Album Artist, artist, Genre artist and Album artist) with the date of album release in the format YYYYMMDD .  The result of this (if it is applied uniformly throughout a library) is that sort albums by artist and title really give a correct chronological list by artist and then by release date.

  • iTunes - compilations, absent from the list of Albums

I have several compilations in iTunes (12.4.0.119) on my MacBook Pro.  These appeared in the list of albums of the library until now, but suddenly they no longer appear in the list of Albums.  They always appear under Gianni and recently added, but only with the single artist Albums appear in the list of Albums.

Also has anyone seen this problem? I think that this only started happening after the last automatic update of the software a few days ago.

In the version 12.4 iTunes compilations are hidden in the Album > grid side if the field sort by is set to something other than an artist.
