• Cross-references in the output PDF from Framemaker: how to center the Pages?

  I think I understand quite well the functioning of cross-references in Framemaker, but one thing that bothers me, it's how, when you generate a PDF from Framemaker file and clicking on a reference, the resulting page view locates the cross at the top of a page reference marker.

  It's very annoying and confusing when, say, referring to a figure of legend that appears at the bottom of a page. Page display that results when such a reference in a PDF document after Center the text of the _following_ page, with the text of the legend of the barely visible figure at the top of the page.

  My question: is it possible to build cross references that show the page, when you click in a PDF document, is centered on the page that displays the cross-reference material?

  Not AFAIK in FrameMaker.

  But in Acrobat, set the initial view one Page instead of continuous.

  File > properties > Initial View.

  

  Two upward (direction) and two up (cover Page) would also work.

• Reports developer reference guide?

  We have a lot of reports that have been (over the years) migrated from 6 to 11.  Most of the time, we have no problem with them, but from time to time I really regret not having any kind of developers reference guide. For example, the "Oracle9i Forms Developer' 'référence Guide' for forms.

  The reason why I'm looking for one, it is that we had a problem with a report, and it is implemented in a Code39 barcode.  The original developer used an ampersand (&) in a block of text to indicate that the Postfix reference should be used, with ' *' is fine for the field delimiter.  I completely missed it and I'd love to see the additional documentation on this feature.  If it's forms, I could look in this reference of old (but still relevant) and understand it.

  Was there ever such a guide for reports, and if so, could I get a document of reference so I can dig it up with the support of the Oracle.

  There is a whole section of bar codes in this manual.

  I don't think that your problem with bar code has nothing to do with the reports, but with how works this barcode fonts. In accordance with the Code39 Manual:

  "Don't forget to add an asterisk * character before and after your text. '. "Example * VOTRE_TEXTE."

• Windows for handheld PC 2000 - reference Guide?

  I just bought (from e - bay) a Jornada handheld computer model 720. This device is a mini-notebook PC made by HP. The operating system is Windows for handheld PC 2000.

  The manual shipped with it is perfectly awful--incomplete and innacurate. I think I need a reference guide for the operating system. Can someone point me to a source for such a guide?

  HP is the manufacturer and would be the only source.  Visit their site http://www.hp.com web and see what they have.  Nobody else is likely to know how to put HP up.  You posted this in a forum of 'Other/unknown' of Windows.  We could be more helpful if we knew WHICH version of Windows you have.  All versions currently supported Windows have a help and support section which you can reach by clicking on the Start button.  If you have not tried, there is a lot of good info.  And as I tell my students, it won't give you the leprosy if use you it either!  :-)

• Cannot create a PDF from Framemaker 11 using Adobe DC. Does not pass compliance audits

  Given that we have upgraded to Adobe Acrobat DC, I'm not able to create a PDF from Framemaker 11. Message says that the document is not PDF / x-3: 2002 compliance checks. Notepad displays a list showing annotations were found inside bleedbox, cropping area or artbox and lists on the pages. Don't know what are these annotations.

• How to move a symbol + reference guide

  I am sorry to be a noob.  I installed Animate a week ago and have a prototype in 3 days, so I'll just ask:

  (1) how to move/transform/translate a code symbol?  The editing, the symbol itself, or another symbol would work.  Leave in the symbol, I thought I could do something like:

  SYM. CSS('left',100);

  but it does not work.

  (2) is there a reference guide listing everything you can do in a symbol?  I see examples such as:

  SYM. Play();

  SYM. Hide();

  SYM. Animate ({opacity: 0}, 500);

  but I can't find a list of all my options.

  Or is it something I can do with javascript or jQuery?

  And Sherry to move the symbol to say click on symbol, you can use code like:

  sym.getSymbol("Symbol_1").getSymbolElement (true) .stop () .animate ({"left": "= 30px"});

  Add this to say the action of Symbol_1 click.

  The table of contents in RoboHelp are just a file. Basically, you open the editor table of contents as the first step. Usually, he came within a folder for the table of contents icon in your project manager. It is enough to click plus the sign or double-click with the record of the Table of contents.   In addition to the analytic workspace, I'm learning to build cubes by using just the OLAP DML / DDL language.
  
  Oracle and others have published many documents of reference on the language of the OLAP DML / DDL but I can't find a real tutorials that logically guide me through the process of creating cubes and everything that goes with it (definition of the dimensions, hierarchies, measures, calculations etc...) All the reference material is divided into pieces and difficult to learn effectively. Does anyone have a good OLAP DML / DDL tutorial links they could recommend? Thank you.

  It is a very difficult task. The OLAP DML/DDL only supports relationships, dimensions (very primitive) and multidimensional basic variables. Dimensions and the visible cubes from the outside are a building a lot of components objects (a dimension has several primitive dimensions and relationships organized to create the DIMENSION of upper level that goes hand in hand with a cube, a cube a variable multiple and other pieces that get together) in the AW, more a bunch of objects of metadata in the dictionary of the Oracle.

  You really want to try to create your own and not expect to interact with OLAPI interfaces. It is possible to build your own version of things, but you also have to make your own view generation, etc. There are applications that are created from scratch, but they are completely from scratch (including whatever interactions they have through SQL). Everything you create will not work with all interfaces provided by Oracle, or the recently announced package of Simba MDX.

• Could not find a reference guide in order for the Visual Studio plug-n

  I've worked with this for about 3 days.  I have a web application I'm trying to put at the disposal with a widget with the latest beta of Visual Studio plug-ins.

  I don't know what functions/objects and syntax that is available for me in this plug-in.

  I worked the samples... I have this installed in a 32-bit windows 7.  I know that windows 7 is not yet supported, but it seems to work.  I was able to get the sample applications for work.  I can run pages of my .net website with browser Simulator 9700 very well.

  IntelliSense does not work for me in JavaScript... So I can't choose right around with an object browser to see what blackberry objects/functions are available within Visual Studio 8.  I tried to reinstall, and that he will show me that there is a syntax error there is no ability to search or auto complete objects as in c#.

  I looked and looked and I can't find a reference to command or something like that.  For example.  I created the menu items in my widget by using the 'new blackberry.ui.menu.MenuItem' variables and can call a function actions.js to print an alert, but it's only because I could find for this syntax in the examples.  I would call the pages of my web site from the menu items, but I can't understand this.  I have a simple link which can make a web page for me, but I don't know the syntax to make HTML calls of in the plugin since the black berry for example menu items.

  In our first review of the plug-in, we do not support Intellisense.  It's on the right track, but it won't in version 2.0.  It will be a version of follow-up.

• Footers that disappears into the PDF generated from FrameMaker 9

  Three other writers and I are having a problem with feet disappearing into FrameMaker.  Here's the problem: in FrameMaker, footers appears correctly.  When convert us a book in PDF format, many of footers disappear.  We find that a footer (or a part of the footer) appears on the first page of the chapter, but then footers disappear in the rest of the chapter.

  Here is some info:

  We use the frame 9.  My version is 9.0p250.  I also use Adobe Acrobat 9 Pro Extended, Version 9.3.2 and Adobe Distiller: Professional Version 8.1.3

  · We have been able to reproduce this problem by using several guides.

  · Oddly, footers appear correctly when I print a single chapter.

  · I tried to restart my machine and then only FrameMaker loaded (if memory problems).

  · I optimized the book file and associated chapters.

  · I experimented with different settings distill.

  Does anyone else have this problem?

  It is probably a symptom of the MS Hotfix that corrects a problem with the text in PDF documents endangered generated from several Windows applications (not just FM).
