You have Word? Office 2004 won't work with El Capitan.
You can save the attachment and then try to open it to see what happens. If it still does not open, try to open Word or Pages or TextEdit and use the command open.

If I understand correctly your new printer (brand and model, please) is properly installed on your computer (version of Windows and the service pack, please), but does not print Quicken (version, please) reconciliation report.
Without more information (such as an error message or description of what happens when you try to print), it sounds like all you need to do is to set up Quicken to use the new printer. The following is for 2011 Quicken, but should be the same or similar for all recent versions of Quicken:
Click file > printer setup > for reports/charts
In the window that opens, select your new printer using the drop-down list. You should keep the default margins and fonts. Click OK and you should be good to go. -

Once you open a Word attachment in an email, you must save it to your HARD drive until you make changes. If you do not, the changes are lost, but the original attachment is still with the e-mail.

Point 1. Addresses go into your address book. There is no where else to put them. Don't want thenm in your personal address book. Add another.
Point 2. You need to format addresses to a CSV file and save them in word as such. Excel or any spreadsheet will do a better job of that than Word.
Point 3. The CSV file must be safed UTF-8 text. Excel, I know that is not an additional step to open the file in Notepad and select explicitly UFT-8 in the dialogue being required to Excel.
Point 4. The CSV file should be im in the Thunderbird AddressBook using the import menu item.
Point 5 you must align the headers in the CSV file explicitly with the Thunderbird ones uses, otherwise the address that you import will not be in the e-mail address field.
You can also create a single line with the addresses of electronic mail in Word. Separated by a comma and the copy and place your cursor in the BCC field use the hotkey Ctrl + V to paste them into the message header. Note that this is not technically supported and if you're wrong spaces and commas by things like Returns or tabs all you will get is an email that does not send.

2. were you able to open the hyperlinks before with Windows Mail?
3. who is your provider of mail service?
4. are you able to do work when you copy and paste the web address?
the problem can be caused if the incorrect file association on your computer. I suggest that you set Windows Mail as the default program on your computer and check if you are able to open the hyperlinks.
1. open Set Program Access and Computer Defaults by clicking the Start button, click default programs, and then clicking set program access and computer by default.
2. in the absence of programs, you can select Internet Explorer as default for http and https files and set by default.
