• vCAC 6 - error installing components of IaaS

  I was struggling trying to get the IaaS components installed throughout the day. I tried with Windows 2012 R2 (I know it is not supported, but I get an error .NET 4.5, saying: it is not installed, but it is). I tried on Windows 2012 and I got errors during the installation process. I do not remember what it said in the paper, but I said screw so I tried with Windows 2008 R2. I'm also using SQL 2012.

  So now I try with windows 2008 R2. In each of these tests, I was running this script from pre - Req script to automate VMware vCloud Automation Center (vCAC) 6 setting up pre - req | VMware vSphere Blog - VMware Blogs

  Once executed, I reboot. Then I right click to run the installer as admin. All the pre - req checkout fine. SQL is on a remote virtual machine with active TCP/IP. I enter all my data and begin the installation.

• vRA 6.2.3 Commons component catalog uninstall before upgrading to vRA 7

  a sine qua non for the upgrade to vRA 7 is uninstalling the catalogue of common components. In the documentation is written:

  "information on how to uninstall, install, and update the catalogue of common components, see the documentation for common components catalog."

  I could not find that the documentation when I searched on the web at - it someone now where? When I searched for common components catalogue I found only a few explanations which belongs in the foundations and the manual concept but nothing that explains how to uninstall them. I actually tried to upgrade without uninstalling then because I couldn't find any hint how do - in vain the upgrade then of course when it came to such amenities that AFAIK are part of common components catalog. That's when you run Setup of IaaS.

  Catalogue of common components belongs and is used by VMware Professional Services, so if you have not deployed your current environment by a commitment of PSO you have probably not installed the CCC.  If you have installed and takes advantage of components in your current deployment, you must contact PSO directly or through your TAM and request a copy of the CCC that corresponds to the version of vRA that you migrate as each version of vRA has a matching version of CCC.

  If you have installed the CCC today, it appears in Add/Remove programs on the servers that host specific components of IaaS (assuming that you have a distributed deployment):

  • Model Manager
  • Each host providing the web service and that contains the data of the model Manager
  • Server Manager

  You simply run the uninstall after stopping all services of vRA.

  I'm new to the automation Vrealize part. I just did the full setup of vRA 7 successfully and asked that the content original all works very well. But when I design, I don't see the IAAS ASAX tab. I have VMware vRealize Suite 7 Enterprise key and its accepted also in vRA 7.

  Can someone tell me why I can't see the tab of IAAS. Second, even the software components are empty, I can't import the ISO images that I have in them.

• IaaS Installation fails

  Hi guys,.

  I'm trying to laboratory vRA setup and deployed unit of the identity and the vcac device successfully. Now, I try IaaS installation, but it is a failure. I followed the pre-requisites for the IaaS and here are the details. "

  1: DNS: forward, reverse search query works fine

  2: Java installed and java_home value

  3: installation of SQL Server (no database created still hoping IaaS to installation configures the database. SQL server 2008 R2 Enterprise is installed on the same machine where I'm out of installation IaaS

  4: IIS and related components installed and configured.

  5: IaaS running configuration gives no error then check the prerequisites are performed by the installer. Everything comes in green

  Looks like you are using Java 1.8 and you must uninstall and install version 1.7. Check your newspaper:

  I tried to upgrade our vRA 6.2.1 to 6.2.2 but the dbupgrade.exe script fails to upgrade the version of database.

• IAAS distributed Installation

  Hello people,

  Our loose in a production environment and rwe are considering HA is an important aspect here. I have read through the docs of reference etc. architecture and has been able to put a bet in bulk, bulk DB and vRO. When it comes to IAAS components, I'm a bit confused.

  Here's what I predicted right now...

  1 VIP for the entire stack of IAAS component

  2 knots with all IAAS components installed in each of them

  1 remote SQL DB that gets contacted 2 nodes above.

  Is this a good approach or should I separate with 2 VIP and 4 nodes, a set for service Web IAAS and other together for service IAAS Bishop?

  Simply put, we are looking for 1 VIP and 2 knots with all IAAS components in each of these 2 nodes. Please suggest how I can achieve this. Appreciate your answers.

  The distributed installation is more availability for scale. As Steve noted, the Manager is active/passive and requires a failover of the interactive.

  Availability is an interesting topic... which I spend a lot of time discussing rather vigorously with lots of people. Availability is all about moving your congestion point somewhere else. In this case, it's going to be your SQL Server (that you indicated that there is only one of). Similarly, are your highly available books? You did not mention the vRA device, which, if clustered needs an instance external postgres. Of course, you want both of them as well...

  Once you have passed the vRA management components, we start getting into the availability of endpoint.

  You see where I'm going here right?

  TLDR version: identify your availability requirements and if you can hit with VMware HA then not to complicate your environment.

  I have a question about the possible configurations of a system of vCAC under a "distribured facility", as shown in this part of the "Installation and Configuration" document .

  
  

  My question is if there would always be a case where an instance of vCO would have more than one end point "vCAC Infrastructure Administration"?  I'm trying to understand the architecture of this distributed installation and whether or not it has implications for this issue.  At this point, it seems to me he's still only going to be a unique IaaS associated with an instance given vCAC.   Yes that's correct.  When you add an endpoint IaaS to vCO as long as you use the name of the load balancer to have it then just that.  Yes same also distributed all IaaS components (MGR or Web) would be grouped together behind that load balanced name, so even if you had the IaaS web component installed on 5 VM they would all be behind that load balanced name.

• 2nd Server IaaS - SSL connection refused.

  I installed a Distributed vCAC pile behind a load balancer.  I've successfully installed the environment but I'm having a problem with the

  2nd Server IaaS.  It's the server without Model Manager and only the Web site component.  With the 1 Server IaaS upward, I am able to

  access the portal.  When I bring the 2nd IaaS I make an SSL connection refused, thia is only happens on the 2nd IaaS.

  Has anyone seen this problem?

• Error During Installation of 6.0 VCAC to #InstallRepoModel install model repository under IAAS component installation step

  I try to install the VCAC 6.0 and can spend the first 2 steps "Laying the device identity" and "ask the VCAC device." Able to communicate between IAAS machine with the device.

  The installer works fine until registration solution GOES but does not step '' Dynamicops loading Assembly '' giving the officer the error in the log file. It shows a complete HTML page that explains the 401.1 Unathourized,, error server in Application "DEFAULT WEB SITE/REPOSITORY.  I do the installation with the local administrator who has all rights on the machine. The machine is part of a domain, I also tried to install with the user admin from the field but the same error occurs. For more details, please see the log file. During the complete installation the installation program ask user/pwd twice.

  1: device VCAC user/pwd

  2: administrator user/pwd, where the IAAS need to installed components.

  Note: SQL server for the database is on the same computer on which I am trying to install IAAS components. The Windows Firewall is turned off completely.

  I can remember my own problems with the installation of the iaas and had the same problem as you.

  You can find the solution in the details of the error provided (it took a long time, until what I found it myself)). It's a problem with NTLM authentication using the domain name COMPLETE for a local connection to the IIS application.

• IaaS Service could start after update vCAC 6.0.1

  Hello

  I've updated our Infrastructure 6.0 to 6.0.1 vCAC.

  Device update IDM worked well and also vCAC device update completed without error.

  After the restart of the IaaS Service could start.

  I think that the newspaper seems ok (errors are more like warnings that some notifications are not received until the services are started). According to the newspaper, it looks like that at least part of the IaaS is configured (integration of SSO works and so on). Thus, the IaaS service shows as being down because of DEMS (as you pointed out in the original post). You can also check this by going to: https://vcacVA-ip/component-registry/services/status/current and find the part "iaas-service" of the xml. It will be an error message. So, it might be that the DEM is not started. I don't remember the exact windows service name of the service DEM, but if you go to the list of windows services, you might find some vCAC services that are not started it. If this is the case, begins just services will change the status (after 2-4 minutes).

• Web components plugin keeps crashing

  I have a few sites with security cameras installed that I access through a browser to control. It has always worked fine until about 2 weeks ago. All of a sudden the Web Components guard delay plugin and crashing and no matter what I do, I can't view the cameras more.

  It may be a windows update, or an update of Firefox, so I wonder if you have any suggestions.
