Components required for Oracle Access Manager

To replace our current SSO solution, we were asked to migrate to Oracle Access Manager.

In order to install Oracle Access Manager, there are some dependencies from a point of view RCU.

I'm trying to find out if Oracle Identity Manager must be installed with Oracle Access Manager - so that the OAM correctly configured?

Thank you

That's true when Oracle Identity Manager is a required precondition for Oracle Access Manager and, therefore, the need for the Oracle Identity Manager schema must be installed both in time of creating repository?

Yes.

Thank you
Hussein

    Does anyone have experience with the Adaptive Access Manager product, specifically using the Tomcat 5.5 application server +? Just trying to make it work with Tomcat and having not much of chance. I get an error message:

  • Prerequisites for Oracle Identity Management

    Hello

    I intend to learn and get the basics of the identity management.

    Could you be it someone please let me know, how to start it and what are the software needed for this.

    Thank you

    1. first of all you must decide will use you separate server or single server architecture. In my case the size of the Server DB is about 35 GB, IOM (WLS + SOA + IdM) server about 30 GB.

    2. also take into account the fact that DB and IOM are intensive systems of record.

    3. you should have 2-3 GB of RAM to DB, approximately 1 GB for AdminServer, 1 to 1.5 GB for SOA and 1.5 to 2 GB for IOM. Configure your appropriate servers.

    4. as for me, virtual servers are very useful especially for learning. I've used VirtualBox and VMware.

    As for me OS + DB + JDK (or JRockit) + WLS + SOA + IdM are sufficient. And remote control to create patterns of IOM. The other depends on your goal.

    SQLDeveloper simplifies the study of the structure of database. But you can use sqlplus to the same uses.

    AD is necessary if you plan to make the integration of ads. But in this case, you also need:

    • Connector server
    • AD connector
    • JDeveloper to develop plugins, adapters

    To access LDAP, you can use Apache Directory Studio which is free. Or just use the ad itself.

  • Debugging in Oracle Access Manager policy

    So, I've got OAM 11 GR 2 installed and I have configured an authorization policy that doesn't seem to work.  I'm trying to understand how to enable debugging for the policy logs so that when I try to access the resource, I can troubleshoot using logs.

    So far, I have done this:

    CD $MW_HOME/Oracle_IDM1/common/bin

    ./WLST.sh

    Connect ("weblogic', ' password ',' t3: / / localhost:7001'");

    listLoggers(pattern='oracle.oam.*',target='oam_server1');

    setLogLevel(logger='oracle.oam',level='TRACE:32',persist='0',target='oam_server1');

    I know that the log is enabled because of the following:

    ------------------------------------------+-----------------

    Logger                                    | Level

    ------------------------------------------+-----------------

    Oracle.OAM | TRACK: 32

    Oracle.OAM.admin.Foundation.Configuration | < inherited >

    I restarted the oam_sever1 of my Weblogic console.  I'm settling the journal of oam_server1.out, but when I try to access the protected resource, nothing appears in the journal of oam_server1.out.  Issues related to the:

    Have I set up the connection properly?

    I'm looking at the correct journal?

    How to debug policy?

    Thank you

    Found!

    oam_server1 - diagnostic.log will display all debug information.

    So, to answer my own questions:

    Have I set up the connection properly?

    Yes, and to turn off logging, run the following command:

    listLoggers(pattern='oracle.oam.*',target='oam_server1');

    You can verify that the logging level is back to normal with this command:

    listLoggers(pattern='oracle.oam.*',target='oam_server1');

    ------------------------------------------+-----------------

    Logger                                    | Level

    ------------------------------------------+-----------------

    Oracle.OAM | NOTIFICATION: 1

    Oracle.OAM.admin.Foundation.Configuration |

    Oracle.OAM.admin.service.config |

    I'm looking at the correct journal?

    Yes, oam_server1 - diagnostic.log display of debugging information

    How to debug policy?

    Set the debug level to an appropriate value, the newspaper of the tail and perform an action such access a web resource.  The newspaper will then display debug information that should allow you to see how OAM is implement your strategy.

  • components required for APEX 4_0

    Hello

    I have used Apex 3.x in my past. In this new position, I need APEX again. Can't wait to use them again.

    I'm in an all-Windows environment. I want to give a proof of concept for Apex 4.0, but the installation guide says of many other components. 4.0 seems to be more complex than 3.0, so I thought I would check my approach and components.

    If I want to install a new database and the application environment on a new Windows PC, components that I need for a complete solution?

    That's what I have so far for the list of components:
    Oracle XE 10g R2
    Oracle Application Express listener 1.0
    Containers for J2EE (OC4J) Oracle
    Oracle APEX 4.0

    Do I need all these components? Do I need more?

    Thanks for your help.

    If the development of the basic concept is APEX 4.0 - then you can install XE on a machine under 32-bit windows (can be a Virtual Machine - should be sufficient for the proof of concept) and then update the APEX (2.1) on XE to 4.0. It is perhaps the fastest way to begin to develop/test with APEX 4.0

  • Global Logout in Oracle Access Manager

    Hi all

    I have a requiremnet whre I must apply SSO for 2 applications using OAM
    the scenario is similar to:
    Protected URL: landing page, url, url app2, app1, (each with Logout button)

    Once the user tries to access the destination page, it will be asked for forms based authentication. Once successful, it is shown that launch with app1 and app2 URLS listed page.
    So now once the user clicks on any of these 2 URLS, should not ask a new authentication.

    The situation is that these 2 URLs must open in a new browser window, (the child window). What is happening properly. want to achieve overall logout as well, so the question is:
    Once the user clicks on the child window on logout button, will it be disconnected from parent window so or vice versa, if it disconnects from the parent window, if it is disconnected from the child window as well?

    According to my understanding, OAM only deletes the cookies at the level of bowser, then how the global logoff works with several browser windows. O use OAM 10.1.4.3 and browsers IE 6, 7, 8.

    Any suggestions would be helpful.
    Thank you

    Hello

    With IE, when different browser sessions are open with parent/child behavior (the equivalent to file/new window in the browser) then the sessions share cookies. In this case logging to OAM into a browser will give you a valid cookie for all sessions (parent/child), and a disconnection in a single session journalisera you on the other sessions too (the ObSSOCookie will expire in all sessions).

    On the other hand, if IE sessions are open separate processes (equivalent to double click on the IE icon for each session) then the sessions do not share cookies, the OAM authentication will be required in each session and logout in one session does not affect the other.

    Above is the behavior by default for Internet Explorer - you can see that when the Windows system is stressed, behavioural changes, and I have not tested with very recent versions of IE/Windows (for example 2008) although according to me, that he has not changed in this respect. In older versions of IE (4?) it's configurable behavior.

    Kind regards

  • Steps required for guest access / self-supply accounts

    I'm a little overwhelmed with the information concerning the establishment of users invited on the wireless network and have a few questions I was hoping that the community would respond.

    I use a WISN on the 4.2 version of the software, as well as a WC on the same version.

    1. is it possible to have accounts created by users themselves, once they join the wireless network? If so, what will do to put in place?

    2. a VLAN especially should be created for customers to use?

    For the first question, if you want more that putting an email address for tracking needs, users Fella5 is right.

    To answer the second question, it is unnecessary on the plan technique one VLAN special for guest users. In most cases, however, you should have one to better apply the security settings of your network clients. In our office, with 10 people, we use the same subnet for guests, voice and internal data. However, we use 3 different SSIDS with different policies and security strategies QoS applied to them. And the guest SSID has an ACL applied to limit traffic to the Internet only. When you are given a 27 subnet to use, do you :)
