compose the query without using the query designer

New on this BEEP 10.1.3.4.1 product,

questions

1. is there a way to compose a query without using query builder but still has a way to see the result of the query under the PIF?

2. How is - a to compose a query prompt? I know that I can create parm after you create the data set, but at the stage of all data already call you query prompt as where employee id =? E_ID? or just not where clause

Sorry if these questions are too rudimentary, but I did not see that what we have answered according to the user's guide.

Thank you.

  • How to specify an outer join in the query designer

    I quickly built a large query with the query designer, and it works very well, but does not produce 9 disks on 2200 - so I need to change to an outer join.

    My problem is that I can't find a way to specify an outer join. I tried to change the query, query builder formed, but it won't let me.

    I know that I can capture the query, edit and run it in sql developer and that works fine, but I want to use the Query Builder as it is the fastest way I know to quickly add and remove items - my users don't know exactly what that it to include.

    I know it's kind of a trivial question, but I searched the forum, manual, the web and no luck

    Thanks for any help you can give

    Glenn

    Hi Glenn,.

    When you use the query designer to create the sql statement, you must click on the empty box to the right of the fields in each table to create the join. When you are finished, you should see a line drawn between the two tables. Click on this line, and a small window appears allowing you to select inner outer or right outer joins, left.

    When the report was created, however, you must change the statement. For example, if you use the query designer to join DEPT at EMP based on the DEPTNO field on the two tables, you get:

    select      "DEPT"."DEPTNO" as "DEPTNO",
          "DEPT"."DNAME" as "DNAME",
          "DEPT"."LOC" as "LOC",
          "EMP"."EMPNO" as "EMPNO",
          "EMP"."ENAME" as "ENAME",
          "EMP"."JOB" as "JOB",
          "EMP"."MGR" as "MGR",
          "EMP"."HIREDATE" as "HIREDATE"
     from      "EMP" "EMP",
          "DEPT" "DEPT"
     where   "DEPT"."DEPTNO"="EMP"."DEPTNO"

    This is to change:

    select      "DEPT"."DEPTNO" as "DEPTNO",
          "DEPT"."DNAME" as "DNAME",
          "DEPT"."LOC" as "LOC",
          "EMP"."EMPNO" as "EMPNO",
          "EMP"."ENAME" as "ENAME",
          "EMP"."JOB" as "JOB",
          "EMP"."MGR" as "MGR",
          "EMP"."HIREDATE" as "HIREDATE"
     from      "EMP" "EMP"
          LEFT OUTER JOIN "DEPT" "DEPT" ON "DEPT"."DEPTNO"="EMP"."DEPTNO"

  • SDO_NN cannot be assessed without using the index when put inside subquery

    Hi all

    I met a problem when you use the function sdo_nn to find the nearest neighbor. Here is my scenario:

    _ I have 2 customer and store tables.

    Customer table _ a client_ID and a 2D sdo_geom point

    _ Store table has store_ID and a 2D polygon sdo_geom.

    In the beginning, I have this query to find the nearest store to each customer as below:

    Select s.STORE_ID, c.CLIENT_ID

    store customer, s c

    where sdo_nn (s.MYPOLYGON, c.MYPOINT, 'sdo_num_res = 1', 1) = "TRUE";

    _It works as expected when it returns a table showing the nearest store each customer.

    _Now I want to count the number of customers who have the same nearest store:

    Select / * + INDEX (store store_spatial_idx, client_spatial_idx client) * / count (nearest_store. CLIENT_ID)
    from (select s.STORE_ID, c.CLIENT_ID
    store customer, s c
    where sdo_nn (s.MYPOLYGON, c.MYPOINT, 'sdo_num_res = 1', 1) = "TRUE") nearest_store
    Group of nearest_store. STORE_ID;

    This query generates the following error:

    Hello Pinball,

    Oracle space tends to be a quite complex with many variables and moving parts.  We chatted about the group to a sort of FAQ or guidelines to help people like you submit questions that actually answers.  First of all, you really have to tell us the version of Oracle you are using.  Particularly the problems involving the optimizer, version down to the exact defined patch number is a good idea.  Secondly, you took the time to submit the question so I guess you want a response.  If you really want to see the answer and then providing an example is one of the most important things that you can do.  I'm going to do here for you, but in general people on this forum come and go and are often pushed into lurkitude, so if you want the coax to provide you with an example of work is the key.

    So I wrote this about 12 c (12.1.0.2.0) and everything works fine for me.  Then I moved back from 11 GR 2 (11.2.0.4.0) and of course, there are questions.  So I guess that you don't use flavor of 11g.  So at this point we can look at the docs and see for 11g, have you often need to specify which table is the head and that is the one that has the spatial index to use.
    http://docs.Oracle.com/CD/E11882_01/AppDev.112/e11830/sdo_operat.htm#SPATL1032

    Its rather interesting that the optimizer of 12 c knows what you want, when I had to squint myself at your request and to play a little with the refining.  Note that SDO_NN is sensitive, because the geometry of the main table should come second in the operator.  I did not know that on the top of my head.

    SELECT
    /*+ LEADING(c) INDEX(s store1_spx)  */
     s.store_id
    ,c.client_id
    ,MDSYS.SDO_NN_DISTANCE(1)
    FROM
     store1 s
    ,client2 c
    WHERE
    MDSYS.SDO_NN(
        s.shape
       ,c.shape
       ,'sdo_num_res=1'
       ,1
    ) = 'TRUE';

    SELECT
     ns.store_id
    ,COUNT(ns.client_id)
    FROM (
       SELECT
       /*+ LEADING(c) INDEX(s store1_spx)  */
        s.store_id
       ,c.client_id
       ,MDSYS.SDO_NN_DISTANCE(1)
       FROM
        store1 s
       ,client2 c
       WHERE
       MDSYS.SDO_NN(
           s.shape
          ,c.shape
          ,'sdo_num_res=1'
          ,1
       ) = 'TRUE'
    ) ns
    GROUP BY
    ns.store_id
    ORDER BY
    ns.store_id;

    So I think that is your answer.  Give it a shot and see if this fits the Bill.  Of course, moving to 12 c would be useful for such things.  It would be interesting to collect more examples of this kind of space thing where 12 c is the answer. Also, would be nice if we could mark somehow this discussion as applying only to 11g and earlier versions.

    See you soon,.

  • How to identify the siebel custom index created from DB without using siebel tools

    Dear Experts,

    Please let us know how to identify siebel custom indexes that are created directly through DB. We don't are not sure on the customer tables had created indexes.

    Thank you

    Carine Ch

    Hello carine,.

    Thank you for using Oracle communities.

    Custom indexes created without using Siebel tools are not included in the schema definition in the Siebel Repository.

    Just for your information, these indexes are deleted during the upgrade of database. In order to preserve these indexes, add them to the repository Siebel using Siebel Tools.

    Now come to your query you have utility DBCHCK.

    DBCHCK is that Siebel provided utility to compare the logical schema in the Siebel Repository against objects in the physical Oracle database.

    DBCHCK must be run regularly to check the status of the Siebel business, especially after a release.

    DBCHCK can be useful to identify custom index added by the development team, but not added to the repository using Siebel tools.

    You can run it from a server in the environment. A performance by connection to the base. This should be run from the folder siebsrvr

    You can get more information from document following knowledge.

    How the Dictutl and the dbchck to run? (Doc ID 475677.1)

    I hope it helps.

    Best regards

    Chetan

    P.S. If one of the answers was correct or useful, it would be great if you can mark as appropriate help the other identified correctly updated.

    Well, it could probably be considered a, but [url http://docs.oracle.com/cd/E11882_01/appdev.112/e11830/sdo_operat.htm#i78067] documentation on SDO_NN warns you:

    Documentation says:
    However, if the column in the WHERE clause predicate specifies a non-space column in the table for geometry1 with an associated index, make sure that this index is not used by specifying the NO_INDEX indicator for this index.

    I need the query for this pblm without using the command... Please advice... can someone send immed... Thanks in advance...

    If you still don't bother to write in proper understandable English or probably your keyboard is broken.

    Anyway you can do this

    SQL> WITH t AS (
      2  SELECT 1 col_uid, 101 billno, 100 amount FROM DUAL UNION ALL
      3  SELECT 2, 102, 200 FROM DUAL UNION ALL
      4  SELECT 3, 103, 300 FROM DUAL)
      5  -- end test data
      6  select col_uid, billno, amount, decode(amount, amount_cum, null, amount_cum) amount_cum
      7    from (
      8  select t.*, (select sum(amount) from t t1 where t1.col_uid <= t.col_uid) amount_cum
      9    from t)
     10  /

       COL_UID     BILLNO     AMOUNT AMOUNT_CUM
    ---------- ---------- ---------- ----------------------------------------
             1        101        100

  • Re: How to get Corel WinDVD without using the recovery disk?

    The update for Corel WinDVD was rather messy and because of this some owners laptop uninstalled to try to install the new software. Now, we ended up with the only possibility of an image recovery, which, in practice, means losing the software.

    Updates for the Bluetooth and wifi are also pretty messy.
    Is isn´t possible to get this software back without using the recovery disk?

    As you probably know recovery image installed on Toshiba laptops is a kind of software that includes the operating system, drivers, tools specific to Toshiba and utilities but also some additional software like antivirus or DVD player application.

    All drivers and Toshiba tools and utilities are available on the Toshiba download page, and if you want to install the version of the OS, you can download each of them.
    This additional software is not available for download. It's a kind of gift on the owner of the laptop because as the new owner, your machine must be ready to employment with full protection and opportunities to use multimedia content.

    If you don't like it, you can remove the system and use your own applications.

    Summary: this software cannot be downloaded separately and if you want to have it again, you must install original image of recovery designed for your machine.

    If you have any other questions do not hesitate to ask.

  • Run the VO in Bean managed without using any method (written in AM)

    JDEV Version 11.1.1.7.0

    Is there ay way to run VO in managed Bean

    (1) the Execuet VO with parameters dynamically

    (2) as OAF in controller we can directly set the parameters and can run the VO.

    In the same way sort there here in ADF to run VO passing dynamic parameters without using the method (Written in AM)

    Thank you

    Maybe not ideal for designing this, but you can use something like this:

            BindingContext bindingctx = BindingContext.getCurrent();
            BindingContainer bindings = bindingctx.getCurrentBindingsEntry();
            DCBindingContainer bindingsImpl = (DCBindingContainer) bindings;
            DCIteratorBinding dciter = bindingsImpl.findIteratorBinding("DepartmentsView1Iterator");
            ViewObject vo =dciter.getViewObject();
            vo.setNamedWhereClauseParam("myDepId",AnyValue);//enter your value
            vo.executeQuery();

    as mentioned there are several adobe programs that could be used to create your website from the front-end. There is none that would be used to create the back-end.

    all front-end creative programs are able to add the features needed to communicate with your Web site main.

    WordPress is a content management system, but also the design Web site handles so I'm not sure it makes sense to invest in programs oriented primarily as adobe design and use wordpress.

  • How to run the form directly without having to open the form designer

    Hello Expert:

    Normally I run Oracle Form designer and print button.

    is there anyway that I can run it directly from IE without going into the Forms Designer.

    or I fom.fmx and compile the form already, is anyway to make it work directly without having to open the form designer.

    or even when to call form.fmx or compile the form from asp.net

    I use the Oracle 10 g Forms Designer.

    Thanks in advance.

    You can run a form directly from a browser, assuming that the HTTP listener is running. In the case of Developer Suite, this would be OC4J. So, follow these steps:

    1 locate and open this file: ORACLE_HOME\install\portlist.ini

    2. take note of the value for ' * Oracle Developer Suite HTTP port. " It will probably be something like 8888 and 8889 or 8890 or something similar.

    3. start OC4J using the shortcut created during installation. It will be labeled something like "Start an OC4J Instance". This will open a DOS window. Do not close IT. Leave this session BACK will end the listener.

    4 once OC4J has initialized (you will see "... initialized" in the DOS window) open a browser and enter the following (replace you with host name and port requested in step 2 and form):

    http://YourHostname:port/forms/frmservlet?form=C:\myForms\helloworld.FMX

    If you are not able to get OC4J to initialize and remain running, attempts to run a form will fail. Also, if your machine is not registered DNS you can have problems using the host name in the URL. Instead use 'localhost' or '127.0.0.1 '. For example:

    http://127.0.0.1:8889/forms/frmservlet?form=test.FMX
