Computer hangs after installing windows updates...

computer hangs after the installation of update.  Full system restore and the computer worked fine for a week. Has started having problems still... verified and automatic updates for windows have been downloaded and installed today. Confused about where to go from here. Help, please. Thank you!

To be clear, the issue is not appeared since the updates have been installed one at a time, correct?

KB2447568 is A compatibility view list update is available for Windows Internet Explorer 8:23 November 2010
The KB updates a file in Internet Explorer.
There is a small chance that Trend Micro has a conflict with the update. If this is the issue, then there would be more posts on this topic.
This looks like a temporary glitch occurred.

The only suggestion I would make is that when there are a bunch of updates, as there was in December, then it would be better to install the most complex by themselves.
This would mean that changing setting Windows updates for "download updates for me, but let me choose whether to install them.
For example, the cumulative update for Internet Explorer, KB2416400, would be installed last, and by himself.

And, since you pick a time to install updates that have been previously downloaded, then you can install them in groups of 4 and If it is another problem caused by them or their installation, you will be able to refine specific update was the cause.

My system is connected to the network with 3 PCs and all are licensed copy.

    Hello

Welcome to the Forums Community Microsoft and thanks for posting the question.

According to the description, you get an error message "FAILED CONNECTION USER INIT" after installing Windows updates.

From my research, this problem occurs if the Userinit key in the Windows registry has been changed. For example, this problem may occur if the Userinit key has a value, but no binary data.

I suggest you follow the steps mentioned below.

    Method 1:

Step 1: Start the computer in safe mode

    http://Windows.Microsoft.com/en-us/Windows7/start-your-computer-in-safe-mode

Step 2: Check the value and binary Userinit registry data

Important: The following instructions contain the steps that tell you how to modify the registry. However, serious problems can occur if you modify the registry incorrectly. Therefore, make sure that you proceed with caution. For added protection, back up the registry before you edit it. Then you can restore the registry if a problem occurs. For more information, view the article in the Microsoft Knowledge Base:

    Back up the registry
    http://Windows.Microsoft.com/en-us/Windows7/back-up-the-registry

    a. start Registry Editor. To do this, click Start, type regedit in the search box and press ENTER.

    b. click continue.

    c. Locate and then click the following registry key: HKEY_LOCAL_MACHINE\SOFTWARE\Microsoft\Windows NT\CurrentVersion\Winlogon

    d. in the right pane, right-click Userinit, and then click change.

    e. in the value data box, type hard disk:\Windows\System32\userinit.exe, and then click OK.

Note: The placeholder of the hard drive refers to the drive on which Windows Vista is installed.

    f. close the registry editor.

    g. restart the computer.

    Method 2:

Restore the system to an earlier point before installing this application.

System Restore can return your files system to a point in time before you noticed a problem, without affecting documents, photos, or other personal files. If the system restore does not resolve the problem, you can undo the restore operation and choose a different restore point.

    Hi Craig,.

Thanks for posting your question in the Microsoft Community forums.

I'm sorry to know that you are facing problems after installing Windows updates.

Any Windows specific update which is the origin of the problem or you face the problem after installing updates? This is to check if the updates you receive are associated with hard devices.

To view your history of update, follow these steps:
    a. open Windows Update by sliding into the right edge of the screen (or, if you are using a mouse, pointing to the corner bottom right of the screen, move the mouse upward), tapping or clicking on settings, tapping or clicking change PC settingsand then by typing or clicking on update and recovery.

    b. press or click view update history.

I wish that you install the Dell Web site touchpad drivers.

You can refer to this article for the procedure: http://www.dell.com/support/home/us/en/19/Drivers/DriversDetails?driverId=1JW07

In addition, if all of the updates are at the origin of the problems with the hardware on the PC, then I suggest you also update the drivers from the Dell Web site chipset.

Has anyone else been having sound problems with the new batch of updates? I tried to download the drivers, but that didn't work and now I had to restore my system from the 18th daily. Any ideas on how to identify the update is the cause or what driver I may have missed? My computer is a Dell Latitude E5420, running 64-bit Windows 7 Prof. Any other information needed let me know. Thank you!

According to the description, I understand that you are facing the problem in your computer after Windows installation updated May 18, 2016.

Yes, you can view the installed update so that you can identify the updates that are installed in May 18, 2016.

Please follow the steps to see updates history in Windows 7:

    2. Then select Control Panel > programs.

    3. And then, under programs and features.

Method 1: perform a Clean boot and install Windows Update.

If its a major update, I recommend you put the computer in a clean boot state and install it again in order to minimize interference that could cause this noise problem.

Put your system to the clean boot state helps determine if third-party applications or startup items are causing the problem. You must follow the steps in the article mentioned below to perform a clean boot.

How to perform a clean boot in Windows

Note: see 'How do I reset the computer to start normally after a boot minimum troubleshooting' to reset the computer starts normally after troubleshooting.

    2. Type devmgmt.msc (to open Device Manager)

Windows automatically installs the generic driver, otherwise I recommend you download & install audio driver on the website of the manufacturer to check if it helps.

  • The computer hangs after installing the latest updates

I installed the latest windows updates.  Restarting my computer later, since hanging / freezing for half a second every 2-3 seconds.  I notice it more while trying to move the mouse or by watching a video (someone who speaks seems to stutter on about every 5th Word).  The computer clock has also been slowing.  He gets about 10-12 minutes behind before he catches upward.  When I look at the Task Manager, I do not take a lot of cpu.  Restarting the computer didn't help.  I've never had this problem before.  Any suggestions?

Often by rebooting the computer solves an immediate problem.

Take a look in the system and Application logs in the errors and warnings event viewer and post here the copies. Do not post on that more than 48 hours ago.

You can access event viewer by selecting Start, Control Panel, administrative tools, and Event Viewer. When searching for the meaning of the error, information about the event ID, Source and Description are important.

A tip for posting copies of error reports! Run Event Viewer and double-click the error you want to copy. You will see a button resembling two pages. Click on the button and close Event Viewer. This places a copy of the report to your Clipboard. Paste it into the body of your message. Make sure that it is the first dough right out of the event viewer.

    Hope this helps, Gerry Cornell

  • Pogo games won't load after installing windows updates

Windows updates were installed last night. I was on the computer at the same time play games on pogo.com. I closed IE and authorized updates run. After installation and restarting, my pogo games will not load. Everything else on the site seems to work fine. Since thiese updates, I had the IE window pop up without be clicked to open, my voip for a short period, does not open. When I discovered the problem with the games, do not load, I tried to clear my NET temporary files, erased the java cache, which usually fixes this kind of problem. It made no difference. I ran disk cleanup, no change. I ran ccleaner, no change. I tried 2 restore points, failed on both. I have Vista OS. There were several updates installed, all but 1 were recommended, most of the rest were for components of microsoft office. I have all the modules of the tool bar disabled except for java, sun microsys, Adobe shockwave, components of Skype and norton/symantic components. I did a norton scan and nothing detected, my software is up to date. I have enough disk hard vacuum to play games online in pogo. pop ups are allowed for ea and pogo games. Should I tryu uninstall update 1 by 1 or what?
Please answer as soon as possible. I tried to call support (@ 5:30 p.m. CST), but there was no answer. I am disabled and spend a lot of time playing games and "intermittent with friends" on pogo. Hi Lana57D,

Thank you for using answers Forum.

What happens when you try to load the game?
You receive an error message that you can post on this forum?

First thing I suggest is to reset the internet settings for Internet Explorer:
Method 1: Reset the Internet Explorer settings if you have Internet Explorer 7 or Internet Explorer 8 is installed, you can repair damaged files or missing registration information in Internet Explorer 7 or Internet Explorer 8. To do this, follow these steps:

    1. Start Internet Explorer.
    2. On the Tools menu, click Internet Options .
    3. On the Advanced tab, click reset .
    4. In the Reset Internet Explorer settings dialog, click reset to confirm.

Then the next thing that I propose would be to re - install your Java installation.
Here is a link to the Pogo site that explains this operation.

Hi, I use windows vista and for the last two days every time I shut down my computer, load 16 updates. Then when I restart my computer, it will start up repair and system restore. It would seem that these updates are causing a problem launching. 4 are the updates for office 2007, so I don't think it's one of those at the origin of the problem, but the other 12 are related to questions of security and authentication with vista and I suspect this is one of them. I had a similar problem. The update worked for me was KB2360131, I had to hide and the rest updates went well. This is what I did:

    (1) turn off the automatic updates

    (2) set up the Windows Update service manual init

    (3) restart

    (4) delete C:\Windows\SoftwareDistribution directory of the Windows folder

    5) go to the Windows Update site and search for updates

    (6) once he finds all the updates, go to the list and hide KB2360131

    (7) install the rest

    It will be useful.
