Computer HP laptop starts up but screen goes gray

I have a laptop Windows 8 Hp its two months. I closed the screen last night (not close) and this morning it will not work. The portable sounds as if its marketing, but the screen is grey. If I press F11, it will say F11... Recovery systems, but can not do anything else. I tried to take out the battery and press and hold the button in a minute, but nothing happened. As a student this lappy is my life.

History > the computer originally had XP and has been replaced with VISTA memory was 2 * 512MB, but it was a bit slow and I was advised to upgrade. I bought 2 * 1 GB memory and put it in my PC a few months there may be 5 + had no problem so far.

    I tried the following:

Remove the memory and replace it. Remove the 2 * 1 GB of memory and its replacement by the Moose 2 * 512MB to check if the memory is at fault.

Windows 7 on a computer hp laptop, start menu never ceases to appear and disappear if often I can't type on the command line. I can open Google Chrome and click here to read the games. If I need to type anything it either in the menu popping up any program does not allow me to do. I have it in safe mode to try to run a full scan check but not able to do. Any suggestions?

    Help, please

You have another keyboard, say a connected USB, try? If this occurs only when you try to type, I was wondering if the keyboard is faulty and its operation to sort of the windows key?

If this is likely, you can try https://support.microsoft.com/en-us/kb/216893 if you click on the toggle bits.

If not that, perhaps of possible malware? Can you go as far as to update your antivirus software and then run a full scan to see if it finds problems? When you say "able to do" whats happening?

  • Screen goes gray with lines

My Dell Inspiron 3520 screen goes gray with horizontal lines during use. This reminds me of an old television set, except the lines do not scroll. Everything started after I upgraded from 8 to 8.1. I was wondering if anyone had any ideas on how to solve this problem? Thank you

I agree with the upgrade to windows 8.1 as the origin of the problem. If you check the video card, you will see that it is a 3000 graphics card intel. You will see that the upgrade has changed the driver to one for January 2014. I did a back roll of this driver. On my machine, she restored a driver with date of September 2013. After that the computer was OK all night so I think it solved the problem. Appears there is something wrong with the driver that is loaded with 8.1.

  • Computer does not start after the screen of the bios, Compaq Presario SR1023WM

Ok. Trying to fix a friend's computer and seem to have met a strange barrier.

Problem: The computer does not start after the bios screen.

Details: When you turn on the computer, the compaq logo with intel inside is and has the < F1 Setup > and < F10 System Recovery > options listed as well.  And that's it as far as the computer becomes.  After that the computer just locked up, no work of buttons on the keyboard lights keyboard ect ect.  I tried the puree on the F1 key, as soon as I turn on the computer and I can handle so he can say * entering setup * but it freezes again after this point.  I already tried to eliminate the possible sources of the problem, removed all expansion cards, HDD and Dvd Rom module only disconnected, only memory (256 MB ddr 2700), power, vga and keyboard connected.  Ive also used the jumper on the motherboard to clear the cmos, hoping that would solve the problem without success.  I tried using a different memory stick and different memory as well...  Tried to use both a ps2 and a usb keyboard... Ive even tried pulling the rider for the protection of the bios password (even if she did not have a password on it, just try everything I can think of).

The installed bios version is 3.1, and that's all that I know on the computer at this point, except that the website tells me to him.

  • Computer won't start and the screen is weird looking

After the maid left today, I noticed my computer screen on my DELL PC running Windows XP HOME Edition (service pack 2 or 3 - I don't know) seemed strange. The pixels have been weird in several areas of the screen and the cursor froze.  I tried to turn off the computer, but it will turn off, then I disconnected and finally had to hold the power switch on the CPU for a few seconds to turn it off.  When I tried to turn it back on again, it showed Windows startup to the top of page - but the screen still seemed weird - kind of out of touch.  The computer does not start.  It's just a black screen with a cursor in the middle of the screen is frozen and the mouse does not move.  I tried to push the F-8 when starting Windows screen came. He took me to a different boot options menu, but always with the print-screen out of phase. I tried a few startup options, but it just brought me back to the Windows boot screen with the logo being shifted - sort of split and strange looking.  Is it possible that my maid has done something to the computer, wiping down? Is it possible to fix this? It's never happened before. Can someone PLEASE?  Thank you

    Hi Goldie309,

I suggest that you reset the default monitor settings using the buttons available on the computer screen and check if that helps.

You can also connect another monitor to the computer to check if the monitor is defective.

Try this link and if that does not work then you will probably want to contact the manufacturer of your computer. I will also include links to contact information for support of the brand from the other computer. By the way you are welcome. One last thing, if you don't have a security software on your computer, I recommend you put it on there. I'll also include a link to download Microsoft Security Essentials if you don't have a Security Center on your computer.

Hope that all these information are useful and good luck... If you happen to still have trouble, I'll try to help you...

  • How to clean a laptop HP DV8 fans, screen goes black with overheating?

Black goes screen occur when heat from the CPU reaches 100 degrees, which is 20 to 50% overall CPU activity, for example to watch video on a brower, whatever safe or normal mode you start. . Since blackscreen started 4 months after I bought the dv8, I prefer not not the material had failed and would rather follow the instructions and clean the fans finally dusty.

But I could not open the laptop, even after the removal of every screw, does anyone know how to open these laptops?

    # A once that the user disappointed had finally, after 157 overheating closures
    # DV8 1050es W7x64 HP I7 Q720 Let's believe computers are simple

It seems that the solution is about to decommission the flashplayer from adobe in order to avoid an overheating so blackscreen.

    The numbers go like this:

current version of flash is 10.1.85.3, use 15% + _50% non-stop CPU reaches temperatures 100 degrees, which is bad

old version 10.0.12.36 uses 7% 15th % nonstop CPU 95 degrees, what is the best

Remember triggers of 100 degrees blackscreen, the screen is off, it is always possible to turn off the computer with the appropriate key combination. If you do not maintain the temperature rise then shut down the system, the protection feature of blocking screen is unnecessary because CPU continues to operate at the same speed in this case, the same occurs also in mode without GPU.

That's pretty good work, but I m sure low enough the downgrade, the temperature is low.

  • Computer HP laptop starts first time

    Hello

    HP Pavilion DV6-3113sa 64-bit Windows

My laptop does not start until the first time most of the time and freezes on the Windows Logo screen. When I restart the laptop it most of the time starts but does come with a prompt that says "Windows has not started upward normally" and then offers me two guests 'start normally' or 'launch Startup Repair (recommended). By clicking on 'start normally' works most of the time, but when I click on the "Startup Repair" prompt "checks the system for problems" on the laptop and then said would you like to reset the laptop from a previous restore point. I chose most of the points, and then he tells me that he was unable to reset all the time. The laptop took a long to load until recently as well. I think we can do with the BIOS of internet research. My BIOS version is up-to-date (F.28) I checked and it should be on F.28.

    Please can someone help?

    Thank you

    Hello again,

If you have already backed up your computer, you don't need to make a current backup. It would probably be a faulty backup. This analysis of Windows system can only correct the mistakes of your laptop; I never heard talk of an analysis of Windows system to hurt a computer. OK? Then click on and open your icon Workstation ',then right-click theOS) Ico and fall down to and click on clickProperties and open theTools your and clickerror checkingwithout checking, then checkautomatically fix file system errors andScan for and attempt recovery of bad sectors , click Start. After a few seconds, the computer will indicate that she cela at the next restart, click Yes and then close and leave everything by clicking on OK and restart your laptop and let the whole Windows system analysis. This indispensable analysis of Windows system can easily take more than two hours and can not - repeat - cannot be tampered with, whatever it may be for a few reasons, good? Once the scan is complete, your laptop restarts itself.

Then, after the deep scan, I would like to install the following program. It's free, and it has Disk Doctor and active Boost. And it will clean your system and also speed it up. After downloading, searching for viruses and install this program, Please get back to me before run you so that I can guide you to the appropriate security settings. I use the Pro version for about seven different years on four laptops and never had problems:

  • Computer Dell laptop connects wireless but not online

I have a Dell laptop that I bought about five months ago. We just bought a router wireless about two weeks ago and it was working fine until a few days ago, when the internet connection is slow all day until we have reset the internet modem itself. That day, my computer wouldn't connect to the internet after a few hours of surfing on slow internet. After that reset us it, he started to work very well. Then, the next day it was working fine until it just stopped to let us browse the internet. My desktop computer that uses a USB connection wireless and the Xbox 360 with WiFi, both work. Now, I pressed my button wireless countless times, and I am connected to my network with almost full bars. Some of the software on my computer can connect to the internet, as the update of windows, but I can't use any internet browser - I use Safari, but I tried as well IE. When I look at the plan of the connection, there is a line dashed to the router from my computer, but he always says that I have full internet access. Has connectivity IPv4 and IPv6 is not. I tried to uninstall my card, but it did not reinstall rebooted once and I undid the system restore I had tried a few days earlier to pick up my internet. We also tried to connect with an ethernet cable - says there is connection, but also will not let me do anything. Also, I ran diagnostics on my cards and Windows said reset, but I still have the problem and it "resets" whenever the diagnostics are executed. IP address of my router starts with 192. I've searched and searched for answers, but nothing works.

    The new answers?

    Hello

    Try the following steps:

    Step 1
: first of all, temporarily disable the firewall settings and security software and check if it makes a difference.

    NOTE
: Please check you to re - activate the anti virus program after reviewing the issue.

    Step 2
: make sure you have the latest updates and service packs for Windows Vista.

    Reference: http://windows.microsoft.com/en-US/windows-vista/Install-Windows-updates

    Step 3
    : battery Reset TCP/IP.

To reset the stack TCP/IP go to this article and click on "Fix it for me" or follow the instructions to fix it yourself: http://support.microsoft.com/kb/299357
