computer starts, said of updated configuration and restarts

So I restored factory recently my HP Pavilion. Wanted to free up space, never had a real problem. Now whenever I start the laptop, it goes through the typical in boot process, displays messages from the BIOS, then the windows splash screen, and finally, a screen that says 'Configuration updated 3 on 3:99% '. The moment where she reached this screen, it restarts. He did all night last night, more than 8 hours of an infinite loop. Help, please? I am running Vista.

I saw your post about the update loop, you are currently stuck in. Try to see if you can boot in Safe Mode to see if you can reach Windows like that. Try to run the System File Checker tool to see if there is any corruption in the operating system. What is the product number for your Pavilion?

If you have not saved the document before the reboot - and Windows always give a lot of warning before restarting automatically - while the file disappeared.  There is no way to recover; System Restore does apply to system files, not data.

    Hello

You shouldn't have a system restore to fix this.

You can use the solutions in this KB - 3 methods and I listed a little help for them below

You can also do a safe mode startup repair to access the Recovery Options If you have them available
or use the DVD as described above.

  • Keep automatic updates installation and restart request, cycling.

After a clean install of Windows XP Edition family, I was unable to install the automatic updates.  Installed service pack 3 manually as suggested in this forum.  But now he repeats to me there are updates to install, it downloads and installs, then said done and it needs to restart.  But when it gets to the top of the Update icon is still there and you have to do it again

    .

    Hello

    1) that updates are you referring?

    (2) are these same updates that are repeat?

Method 1: You can manually download by going to the Microsoft site and enter the KB with the number that is installed on several occasions.

    Microsoft Download Center

    http://www.Microsoft.com/en-us/download/default.aspx

Method 2: Windows Update or Microsoft Update offers several times the same update

    http://support.Microsoft.com/kb/910339

Note: The data files that are infected must be cleaned only by removing the file completely, which means that there is a risk of data loss.
