  • Y450 screen turns off after 5 minutes, set to never power settings

The display on my Y450 turns off after 5 minutes if it is connected or not. I changed the power settings on all levels of the power to never turn off the display, but he keeps doing. I thought that maybe it had something to do with windows is not fully updated so I did it earlier today, but it has not changed. It doesn't matter whether the system is energy saving, balanced or a custom.

I don't know what to do to stop it, but it's annoying when I play videos and turn the screen on every 5 minutes. Is there another program I'm missing that somehow overrides the power settings?

You may also need to change the power settings for the windows power management and lenovo power management.

We also know, that the problem persists only watch movies?

  • After the upgrade from Office 2007 to Ofice 2010 on my Vista, then my computer turns off after being idle for a while.

After upgrade Office 2007 to Office 2010 on my Vista, then my computer turns off after being idle for a while. When I turn on my computer, I get the splash screen indicating that Windows has finished unexpectedly and I would like to start in safe mode or normally (pluss a couple more choice...).

Appears not to occur if there is activity going on--as if do me some work or have itunes playing music or I'm just surfing the internet. Curiously, it seems not to happen if I close Internet Explorer and Outlook.

I shot all automatic updates for Windows Vista (32 bit) and Microsoft Office.

    Hi B Odd Andersen,

I want to clarify if your computer seems to be sleeping or it completely closed after being idle for a while.

Method 1: If the computer is in power saving mode, check if you can wake the computer from this State by moving the mouse or pressing any key on the keyboard.

Method 2: Change the power to another and check to see if the problem persists
Change, create, or delete a power plan (scheme)

Method 3: check the logs in event viewer for more information on auto-off down

    Open event viewer

What are the information in event logs? (Event Viewer)

Note: For your safety and security, it is not recommended to disable Windows Update.
Activate the update or disable automatic

  • When listening to the music of Grooveshark, the sound turns off after a minute.

When listening to the music of Grooveshark, the sound turns off after a minute.  Must press the key or the mouse to re-activate.  I turned off the screen saver.  Cut off.  Grooveshark said that they have no control over that, but the operating system.  Can someone help me with this?

    Hello

    Try the following steps.

    Method 1:

Sometimes a Web site you visit doesn't look like you expect it. Images may not appear, menus may be out of place, and text boxes may be blurred together. This can be caused by a compatibility problem between Internet Explorer and the site that you are. When a site is not compatible with Internet Explorer, you'll see the compatibility view button in the address bar. You can activate only display Internet Explorer compatibility for the office.

Use compatibility mode in Internet Explorer:

    http://Windows.Microsoft.com/en-in/Internet-Explorer/use-compatibility-view#IE=IE-10

    Method 2:

I would say to change the mode of Internet Explorer 9 browser.

    Steps to follow:

    a. open Internet Explorer, press the F12 function key.

    (b) in the part of developers, click browser mode and click on Internet Explorer 9.

If the Web site uses flash player, try to uninstall and reinstall and check if it helps.

    It will be useful.

  • Belkin F6D4050 v2 USB Wireless Adapter turns off after 5 minutes using Windows 7 Home Premium 64 bit

I recently bought a wireless adapter Belkin for use in my Media Center PC in the living room. The router I use is also a Belkin N + Router. The wireless adapter will connect to my WPA encrypted network, but it will stop working after about 5 minutes or more. The State of the connection is going to say "No network detected." The icon shows a strong signal with a yellow bang next to it. It takes a hard reboot to get it working again. Take out the USB port and put again does nothing. The icon remains the same, but he won't let me not make a right-click or left-click on the icon. When you try to stop, the computer turns off completely; It gets stuck on the "Shutting Down" screen.

I disabled the option in the settings to get to power adapter down to save power. I thought that this would fix it, but still the adapter is not connected.  My Dell laptop gets a signal stronger than this card, and there is also no problem to stay connected to the router.

Any help would be appreciated on figure out how to get the card working properly.

    Hi brutus09,

Welcome to the Microsoft Answers site!

That the connection is lost intermittently, the issue seems to be with the drivers.

As for now I suggest to uninstall the drivers for the wireless adapter and download the updated drivers from the manufacturers website and see if it can solve your problem.

Access the link below to download the driver for the Belkin Wireless card.

    http://en-us-support.Belkin.com/

    1. go to the control panel and, under "Programs", select "uninstall a program".

    2. Select, then uninstall "Belkin Wireless card driver" from the list.

    3. disconnect the adapter.

    4. using another PC or via an temporary Ethernet, download the latest driver from the link above.

    5. run the executable downloaded on the computer, connect the adapter when prompted target.

    6. connect to your wireless as usual. If you have an encryption key, you will need to enter again by reinstalling the driver should solve the problem

  • Equiium series A - maintains turns off after 20 minutes

My laptop turns off after about 20 minutes of use. I checked for dust and clean battery etc. Any other suggestions? It has been suggested that I have to find and fix bugs in C drive but I don't know how - as any help much appreciated.

Dust in the heat sink is often the cause.
It can also be caused by a dry heat pipe (liquid escaped), or dried up CPU thermal grease or a failed fan.

Or its possible that the power adapter is faulty, or she cannot provide enough amps, or a power adapter non - Toshiba is used.

    Hello JDG_SF, welcome.

These options are very likely controlled by your GP (Group Policy) settings on your domain. Due to the nature of the work of rights how administrative, there is no way to work around this problem, unless you have access to change group policy settings that affect all the machines on your network.

You would need to access or to change the settings of GP or find someone who already has access.

I've noticed lately that overheats faster than usual. When I use it I have to pile on the pounds, but make sure that the left side of the laptop is pushed sideways so that the book is not located underneath.

    I tried the following:
Taking the battery off and waited.

For now, I changed the power settings and it has not extinguished yet, but is there something more I need to do?

Also I was wondering how to remove dust that may be trapped inside, as well as to try to understand the problem of heating, I can never have the left side of the base covered even if its on a table such that it will turn off.
