Computer workstation to PTC Creo 3.0

Hello

I want to upgrade my workstation for work recently. My current computer is workstation Dell Precision T7600. Here are the specs below;

  • CPU - Intel Xeon E5-2687W x 2
  • RAM - 16G
  • VGA - NVIDIA Quadro 40000
  • SSD - 256

I'm looking for the faster dual processor (motherboard) and CAD (latest version) video card, faster memory, and SSD on an empty stomach. The CAD software we use is TPC Core 3.0 and would need a certified partner of video card. You are able to indicate an overall increase in the percentage of performance? Current speed percentage (3.1 GHz) processor increase in performance.

Thank you

Hi Yslum830,

Thanks for your post.

I'm sure others will be happy to give their opinion here, but your business must have a designated representative.  They would be the best source for the answers you seek, then have you consulted with your representative yet?

Kind regards
Robert

I have a Dell OptiPlex 960 and was quite impressed by its quiet fan and variability built for the fan and temperature detection, as well in the power supply and chassis / cpu fan.  This device is a number of years.

I wonder, that OptiPlex or workstation now went further to the use of power when needed and stop it is not.  Things like fan, the PSU efficiency, ability to sleep and wake up when "asked", but have the most important still extra cpu and ram if necessary power.  Some functions just cpu burn not so Watts, and the system must adapt.  I therefore intend on SSD, spin-down is not a problem, and it would be a player, this graph is not necessary, but if that were the case, what do you think?

    Thank you

    Hi EJOHNJ,

The Optiplex 9010 would be good for you to watch. On the page, you will see the mini and small size. The last of them is the full-sized Office.

  • Can you teach VMware WorkStation to attach NOT some devices to a virtual computer?

What I find more tedious with VMware workstation (I use v9) is, it still attaches automatically * all * USB devices being plugged in while that VM Workstation automatically runs in a virtual computer.

On my laptop work/computer workstation I frequently have a VM open for long periods while developing and testing programs. In the meantime, devices all USB (USB, security tokens, my cell phone keys, etc.) I plug are automatically attached to the VM without asking. However, I want to be attached to the host, which is the main system. Only when they show up there for more than half a minute or so after plugging the, I usually realize that they * new * have been connected to the virtual machine, then I neeed to detach and their connection to the host instead manually.

I find it ANNOYING! Can't you teach WorkStation to memorize these settings and automatically connect devices, which were previously attached to some VM or at least ask me?

This may not indicate all the scenarios, but it of a place to start, have a look on: disable the AutoConnect USB devices

  • How to transfer pictures from a phone to a computer

    original title: motorola tracphone

I have a tracphone manufactured by motorola and you want to download pictures of her

    Hi paulmoore7355,

If your phone comes with a USB cable, connect the camera to the computer. The computer should recognize the camera and allow you to browse the storage on the camera device, usually a SD card. The storage device would be located by clicking on Start > Computer (Workstation, depending on the version of Windows you have installed) > right click on the device and select Open. You can select and copy / paste the photos to the computer.

Let us know if that helps.

  • My WD external HARD disk usb device does not appear in the computer on XP and Win7, but appears in the system tray?

I have 2 GB external usb external hard drive that appears in the XP and Win7 system tray, but not in my computer/workstation?

When I go to the management of computer disk/storage/management - is not there in XP but it is for Win7.

How to work various PC and diferent OS?

If you view the contents of the external drive, I think that the first folder contains a USB driver that you need to install to run properly, if you cannot view the contents of drive I'm sure you can download the driver for Western Digital. I think that the work of readers well on Windows 7 installs with 3 USB ports, but drivers are needed for USB 2.

  • Access computer from the LAN on internet

My work computer is on the local network and has local ip address , and is connected to the internet through a common gateway. If I want to connect to my workplace PC my PC at home using ssh or other remote access methods, how can we do this? Assuming that ssh is allowed and no firewall will cease.

    Hello

I understand its requirement, but as also mentioned that, he needs permission to host VPN server on his machine, which for the most part it will not receive limited (in general) only people get company VPN access.

And what I said, it's possible, maybe you have not, and I said that because I do this summer with success.

Let me clear what I'm doing:

What I do is, I have my VPN server on my laptop at home, while that from office, I'm starting to connect to this server VPN configuration I could keep it at infinity tent in dynamic hostname service allows static IP to purchase.

So when I get home and start my server VPN, desktop machines connected to my VPN server (as it keep trying to connect my machine at home), and then I can access all my machine.

If I can access my computer workstation at home or remotely take of this.

I use OpenVPN server and Client for that.

For any type of access to his work machine requires the port to be open in its network of offices, the only way out is to send the request from inside the outside network. Because no default ports are open to outside within the network, but from the inside of a few ports are open to the outside (public) network such as HTTP (80), HTTPS (443) or FTP may be. Therefore, his application can go on these port numbers and then tunnel will be formed within this port number between which data travel are whole. But if he send any request from outside at his workstation machine, this package will be dropped on the router of the company, because the NAT is used and the firewall is there.

    Please contact for more details.

  • Got a new computer and can not copy the catalog on my USB key.

I have a new Dell laptop and have downloaded Lightroom to my new computer. I tried my backup from my old computer catalog and he said: "the process cannot access the file because another process has locked a portion of the file. I already tried to delete the lrcat.lock file as Adobe said to do and it did not work. I have no idea what to do! Help, please!

Close LR. Open Windows Explorer (Windows File Manager), or on the link for computer workstation work, Documents, or any other link that will open the Windows File Manager.

Copy the LR catalog file which is normally located in a subfolder of your user account on the USB drive. Then copy it to your new computer, place it in the same WAY as it comes. You must also copy all your image files or if they are all on a disk external drive connect this external drive to your new computer. If all your images are on your internal drive and then when you copy them on they must also reside in the same WAY that they were on your old computer.

  • Is it possible to open a VMWare Workstation virtual machine, VMWare Fusion?

    Hi all

I recently moved to a MacBook Pro and have installed VMWare Fusion.

I searched the forums but cannot find an answer to the question (or maybe I did not only hit the right keywords).

My question is this...  Is it possible to open a virtual machine that I created in VMWare Workstation, VMWare Fusion?

    Thank you

    Dan.

Do not.  Just copy the folder FULL of computer workstation computer merger.  In Fusion, select "Open an existing Virtual Machine" and find the folder that you copied and select the .vmx file.  No stupid masking the content of the file making it appear to the user unaware that the entire virtual machine is a big don't file this way.

  • Windows 7 on Mac Pro of 2013?

I know you're not supposed to, but someone out there has done this?

The reason I ask is that the graph seems to be very unreliable Windows 10, looking at the many websites selling workstations all offer downgrade to win 10 or 8 back to 7 because it is the most stable.

My MacBook Pro seemed to work PTC creo very well under 7, so when I got a Mac Pro to 2013 and that it could not install anything older than Windows 8.1, I decided to "upgrade" bith to 8.1.  Bad, bad decision, MacBook Pro became unable to drive the 27 "Apple display correctly even as the only display (i.e. built in screen off), super slow refresh etc.

Upgrade to 10 and always the same questions. so I wonder about going back to 7 if I can...

    Thank you

    Stephen

Your MP 2013 should support W7.

Please see install Windows 7 and previous versions on your Mac with Boot Camp - Apple Support . If you have problems with the installation of W7, thanks for posting the details of the error messages.

  • X230T settings 8 button of a stylus and Driver Webcam

Hi all! Thanks for reading my post.

I've been the proud owner of a X230T almost half a year now and am very happy with my decision with this product.

I did the upgrade to Windows 8 (I mean, come on, this machine has been practically begging for this) a few moments ago and were surprised that Microsoft could make such a product of service.

But to get to the point, there are two important things that I had a hard time finding our what to do.

    (1) one of my favorite features of this laptop was the ability to use Elements of PTC Creo tablet with the stylus mode. However, this program depends strongly on the use of a middle - click on the button. I barely used the button on the pen for something else, and it only seemed natural that he has established to move an object in the program with her. Long story short, I can't find the setting to change the function of this button on the pen for Windows 8. It is not in the settings of the Windows pen or Lenovo Tablet Shortcut Menu. Does anyone have experience with this? You know perhaps offhand that download is the website of support/driver which provided the settings for this button in Windows 7?

    (2) I know that there is probably little we can do about it beyond expectation, but the section on the download site for Windows 8 Webcam driver is literally empty, and the driver of Windows 7 does not. The owner of Microsoft driver leaves me with bad audio (a person, with that I was talking to thought there is a vacuum in the background) and the video below that I am running Windows 7. Has anyone else encountered this problem?

    Thank you!

    Michael

Found what I was looking for... Well, most of the time.

I broke down and installed Solutions Lenovo Center and its Update Manager, and installed a driver audio webcam that I seem to have missed on the Lenovo site, or simply was not there. People at the other end of my calls say things have improved.

Regarding the pen button, I found people talking about drivers Wacom, but I didn't know where they came from, since there is no page to download everything on this computer driver. Then... Did some googling and found that Wacom did a generic driver for tablet PC, which was exactly what I was looking for. Here's what I found. However, now I have problems with the finger touch droppying intermittently. But I found this postand it seems that this is not something new. I will try the suggestions on this page.

    Hope this helps someone. Bye!

  • The GC760AV/GC459AV w / HP L1710 Monday has an internal mike? No technical reliable assistance here.

I have a computer workstation which consists of a GC760AV/GC459AV w / a HP L1710 monitor. I teach the language and I need to be able to record my students. My other older computers have a microphone built into the monitor. I can't save, so I started to look for the microphone. I find no evidence that there is a built in.

    Can someone tell me?

    Thank you.

Laughing out loud. That's ok. I'll just get an external mic. There are a lot out there. One will be a good value for my class thank you.

  • Z1 HP - upgrade graphics card! Help, please!

    Hello world.

First of all I would like to say my knowledge of graphics cards is very limited so if you would be kind enough to explain things to me step by step. Thank you

So I bought a Z1 - model WM427EA #ABU - and have already updated the RAM, I want to update the graphics card because AFAIK that comes with my model is completely s * the graphics on borderlands (game) look terrible on my Z1 and shiny on my new classmates Vaio all-in-one. I played with the graphics settings in the game without success.

I looked inside the Z1 and couldn't find something that looks like a graphics card. I looked at other models - one with the quadro 4000 - and they seem to have a black box, one on the left side while mine was just an empty space: s. According to most of the sites I have a card/controller "Intel HD Graphics 2000 Dynamic Video Memory Technology."

It would be possible for me to say buy a NVIDIA GeForce GTX 680 (http://www.videocardbenchmark.net/gpu.php?gpu=GeForce+GTX+680 & id = 41) and paste it into my machine? I noticed that there a housing as if she had to go in a tower. I should locate and remove the controller/original graphics card before I could install it?

I really hope HP havnt done so its only compatible with some cards. Which would defeat the purpose of the machine being easily expandable...

Any help appreciated, thanks a lot

    Chris

PS you can get the specifications to

    http://www.equanet.co.UK/catalogue/item/it-equipment/computers/computer-workstations/HP-workstation-...

Make sure it is the Xeon E3-1245v2 if you intend to do this (noting the "v2" at the end)

It's a new architecture than the E3-1245 ("v1" If you want) and the v2 has a major upgrade to the graphics capabilities on the former model, will perform a little better for the CPU to destination as well tasks. It should work more fresh and quieter too, as an added bonus. It should not cost more than either a v1.

You can buy units in a sales package retail or OEM (just naked CPU). You get a heat sink with the retail package, but you don't use it. There is not generally a big cost difference between the two, however, perhaps only a few £/ $ extra for the retail box. I tend to hesitate to ebay, unless I can't avoid it (as with the MXM cards). You have problems to find a 1245v2 to stock from several reputable providers and potentially get a better deal on ebay also.

Replace the CPU isn't too difficult, but I recommend checking out a few guides before you try it yourself - I don't dive in details here on a generic CPU swap because there is nothing I can say that google or youtube will not tell you 10 times more.

There is nothing particularly unique about the replacement of the CPU in the Z. The cooler is set by a few screws and simply lifts off once they are free (and the fans are disconnected from the motherboard).

Once it is off, clean the bottom with something that won't leave a residue (e.g., not something as a solvent for nail polish with perfumes etc.. I use TIM Akasa cleaner and it works very well). Decliper and open setting around the CPU, pop in the new processor carefully, noting the location indicated by the arrow in the corner of the CPU lines until the arrow on the socket. Re-engage the strain relief and apply little thermal grease directly on the CPU (there are many on the market, I use Arctic Silver 5). Make sure not to apply too much grease, you're going to a very thin layer, better youtube it for technique.

Then all that remains is to replace the cooler (making sure not to forget to plug back in), close the PC and fire.

EDIT: One more thing-update your BIOS to the latest version before swap you the processors, it could not start with the E3-1245v2 with a BIOS earlier, which gives you a nice 'Uh Oh' moment, before realizing you have to UN-swap and then re - Exchange processors again.

  • Integrated vs. discrete graphics-> processors

    Hello world

I am looking to buy a new computer workstation E30, and I am a little uncertain on which I should choose between integrated and discrete graphics. I understand it, in effect, what the differences are and I would go with discrete graphics, but I'm confused by why each option comes with a different set of processors to choose. For example, if I choose an E30 with integrated graphics card, I can choose a range of Intel Core Xeon processors, but if I choose to go with discrete graphics, I can only select one among a range of different Xeon processors.

Originally, I had planned to go with the Intel Core i7-2600 with the graphics card NVIDIA Quadro 600 processor, but this combination is available only if I select the integrated graphics card, I read is generally worse than discrete graphics. I am happy to go with discrete graphics, but I'm not sure how the Xeon processors compare with the Core i7-2600.

If I intend to use my computer for CAD programs running, but also of the games, should which way I go?

The new Integrated GPU exists on the same chipset as the CPU. The new i3, i5 and i7 processor all have an integrated onboard gpu. Some of the Xeon processors used in the E30 does not have an integrated gpu, that's why only some Xeon processors are the choice when you choose the option only discrete.

The integrated gpu + discreet graphics card option is really a direct influence on performance, since only the discreet graphics card will be used.

Xeon processors are processors designed for servers, workstations, etc., that are held permanently the large memory and cpu intensive operations. The supply of RAM ECC on the Xeon also reduces the error rate when used with these processes.

If you try to run games, Quadro 600 isn't really all that good, you're better with a game cards, who may have some compatibility issues in the E30. In addition, 280 watt on the E30 power will not support a lot of graphics card. Also according to CAD programs, then you can get away with using a standard of play rather class graphics card workstation cards. that is, many Autodesk products can work with playing cards.

I think you should probably look to build your own office rather than buying an E30, if you also want to play games. If you have the money, then you can get S20, D20, C20x, which are better suited to the range of uses you have in mind.

PS ThinkStation S20 does not have provision for Integrated GPU, therefore, it cannot be bought with the discreet graphics card and it does not support the i3, i5, i7 cpu of the class.
