Conditional compilation tags: what is the difference between FAKE and subject to the terms of CBT content? Best practices?

Hello. I'm new to HR and we try to TCC allows to identify which groups of users will have access to some online help. I understand the purpose of the application of the TCC to the subject or the level of the content, but when you try to apply a TCC to the level of the Topic, it also gave me the option to add it to the table of contents.  Can someone explain why I would apply them to these two levels level TOC and topic?  Are there GOOD resources in there that better explain the CBT? What I find just says 'apply CBT' which is frustrating!

Hello

When you apply a CBT, do you more often in order to "leave out" information that does not apply to some version of the output. Your message seems to suggest you have this knowledge base. And at the level of the heading, marking words or images cause them to delete when you apply and exclude a tag later.

As you said, a tag can also be applied to the subject itself. And if you do this, the entire topic is deleted when you generate using the expression of the generation that excludes it. If this topic is in the table of contents, since it is excluded, it is also deleted from the table of contents and will not appear in the table of contents generation.

And finally, you also have the option of marking of individual elements of OCD. And, just like other things, if a page or a book TOC has been labeled, it is removed from the table of contents at the time where that you generate your output.

For me, I tend to avoid marking of the table of contents. I tag in general regardless of the subject, it is as the table of contents of the links page. Because I know not if the subject is not there, the crux of the TOC disappears. The marking if the table of contents is exaggerated.

It helps to give a sense better?

See you soon... Rick

  • Is there a limit to the conditional compilation tags?

I have difficulties in WebHelp edition (which is our preferred choice). The project is huge anyway, with subjects from 1580, so it's a bear to manage. To add to the workload, I have three conditional compilation tags created. For now, each topic (minus five) assigned to one and only one of the conditional tags I build. So there's a lot of conditional in the equation.

When I publish the complete help on my office file, it works fine (although I think more slowly as before, I've added the tags). When I assign a SSL so that only two tags conditional build is included, the publication fails. RoboHelp gets hung up, and I have to close it by the Task Manager. The output is never completed.

In any case, I can't publish the help file on a server. Even if I publish the SSL without conditions applied, RoboHelp is hindering again. I can always publish to desktop and upload it to my server.

So, is there an upper limit for the number of subjects who may have applied conditional construction? I couldn't find a limit in the documentation.

    Kevin

No limit that I definitely know the numbers you're talking about are not a problem.

If you can publish to a local drive, then the conditions aren't the issue.

Are you clear on the difference between the production and publication?

Also in your second paragraph you say that you can publish on your desktop. In your third paragraph, you say that you can not publish for SSL. Which should also be on your local disk, so at odds with the two things.

    Where is your project stored?

  • Conditional compilation tags or phrases in the table of contents

    Hi all

I meet another problem with my conversion, this time with the tags and conditional compilation expressions.
Everything seems to go well in my subjects, but not in my table of contents.

Some of my topic titles have words with conditional text applied in the source FrameMaker document.

These subject titles also appear in the table of contents that are automatically generated when I connect my framework book in Robohelp.

I put the conditional compilation expression in the Webhelp settings dialog box and then save and build.

These topic titles appear to pick up the correct conditional compilation expression in the subjects themselves, but the title of the table of contents displays several conditions (including the condition that I set myself to 'Exclude').

Thus, for example, if the title of my topic is

    "Conventions in this documentonline help."

    WHERE
    -----
document > should appear in PDF format only
    and
online help > must only appear in Webhelp

I can get the Webhelp topic to use the title "Conventions in this online help.

but the corresponding TOC header looks like this:
    "Conventions in this documentonline help.

    Any ideas?

    Thank you.
    What

Conditional compilation tags are not imported to the table of contents of the FrameMaker content. However, you can follow another approach to achieve this. We can manage the conditional compilation expression in FrameMaker itself and import the content of filterted in RoboHelp. In order to achieve this, set the conditional compilation expression in FrameMaker. Enable the setting in RoboHelp to 'apply FrameMaker text building conditional Expression '. [File->-> import-> Edit (FrameMaker settings)-> other settings of project settings]

This way of RoboHelp will import only the content filtered with conditional tags build resolved according to the expression applied in FrameMaker.

  • What is the difference between extensions and Plugins and Add-ons?

I'm sorry if here is not the right place for this post.

What is the difference between extensions and Plugins and Add-ons? Apparantely, they differ in some sense or aspect, but I do not know how. Please, if it is not too complicated, explain in detail and simple language. Thanks in advance to 1 million.

    Kind regards

    Hi Danesh,

You should take a look at this article for an explanation. Plugins and extensions are essentially types of Add-ons as well as of the characters and themes.

    Hope this helps!

  • What is the difference between AXIEM and EMSIght? What are the benefits of AXIEM by EMSight if any?

I wonder what are the differences between AXIEM and EMSight. Are associated with application? One is better than the other? Please explain.

AWR estimated AXIEM most powerful plan EM Simulator around.   AXIEM is at the center of continuous research and improvement, while EMSight is only worked on if revealed serious flaws.  Here is a summary of the differences:

    Mesh

    • EMSight must mesh the nearest grid drivers using rectangles.  This causes the mesh to have more elements mesh when there are small and large geometries.  The grid should be small enough to capture the small geometry but then causes large geometries to mesh more.   In addition, angled or curved structures causes inefficiencies mesh.

    • AXIEM STS forms, rather than a grid.  In addition, the mesh can be rectangle or triangle.   This allows a much more efficient mesh.   AXIEM generally have a much more efficient

    • AXIEM contains the ability to process forms to clean geometries that cause inefficiencies of the mesh.  EMSight does not have this feature.

    • AXIEM can forms thick metal mesh, EMSight can not, and user must make approximations when thick metal will change coupling (loss is recorded properly with the thickness of the metal)

    Ports

    • The ports are for the most part similar, but parasites due on AXIEM ports are less.  In addition, the AXIEM has a side wall, thus the effects of not move of the terms of reference of the edge of the line are a lot less AXIEM in.

    • Ports can be added to most any place in geometry with AXIEM.  For EMSight, the ports are usually only added outside the geometry and have limitations to the aircraft on either side of the reference speaker.

    Problem solvers

    • EMSight does not have a low frequency Solver.  Stop low-frequency and then extrapolate to DC.  This usually works well, but you must take into account if the extrapolation is accurate.  AXIEM presents both a low and high frequency Solver so will do better in a low frequencies generally much better in DC.

    • Solver of EMSight scales O (n) ^ 2 for memory and O (n) ^ 3 for the moment.   It has a special algorithm to break the question of memory, but the question of time is the killer.  AXIEM has a direct Solver which scales in the same way and an iterative Solver which will scale O (nlogn).   In other words, AXIEM can solve a lot of bigger problems than EMSight.

    • Several AXIEM processes are multithreaded as EMSight.

    Speaker

    • EMSight is inside a perfect driver side wall.   This works well if you the circuit is in the same cavity.  If not, you must know the rules of them on to the forms of space of the flanks and how that much to extend the port could reference planes.   AXIEM is not here.   AXIEM does not currently have to simulate a perfect driver side wall.

I don't know that I missed a few aspects of the tools.   From the point of view of the AWR that AXIEM is the tool of choice, except in a few cases have been EMSight may be required.

  • What is the difference between space and unused space?

    difference between freespace and unused

    Hello jilosaul,

Because I didn't exactly know how to state the differenc, look at the link of WikiAnswers:http://wiki.answers.com/Q/What_is_the_difference_between_unallocated_and_free_space_in_Windows_Vista
Unallocated space is a space not partitioned on a disc. According to the number of partitions on the disk, you can create a primary or extended partition with unallocated space.

Free space is available in an extended partition space. This can be used to create a local drive in the extended partition.
