Config DCB

Hello

I have install a pair of MXLs and hoped that someone could check on the attached config. Specifically the DCB article where I have not done this before.

I have attached the config of one of the MXLs.

  • A PS4110x is connected to Te0/41 on the two MXLs and has been configured to use DCB on vlan 3000. There is no error on the EQL DCB
  • VLT connects to the MXLs (po100, fo0/33, fo0/37)
  • A hyperV blade is configured on Te0/20 (am still to set up other HyperV blades)

One issue I've had is that vlan 3000 (vlan DCB/iSCSI) must be applied to all ports? The paper I read here suggests it should, but I don't really understand why.

Thanks for the tips!

Huw-

That is right.

  • How can I get rid of persistent Imgur prefs in topic: config?

Over the past months, I have had the Imgur.com site host a few images (uploaded from my hard drive) for me so that I could put links to them in some messages I posted to usenet.

    Please note two things:
    1. I have never had the Imgur Uploader (https://addons.mozilla.org/en-US/firefox/addon/imgur-uploader/) extension installed, ever.
    2. I always clean my cookies when I quit Firefox.

This morning, looking around: config, I noticed the following two preferences:

    devtools.gcli.imgurUploadURL (the value https://api.imgur.com/3/image)
devtools.gcli.imgurClientID (the value to a unique identifier that I post here)

    WHAT. THE. DEVIL?

I closed Firefox, waited a while and then opens the my profile folder prefs.js in a text editor. I then manually deleted the two parameters of this file and saved it. When I started Firefox upward and checked if the two parameters were right where they had been in all: config and with the original values. I went up to try twice, with the same result both times.

Then, with Firefox running, I deleted the values of these two prefs in topic: config, then stop and restart Firefox. Values have remained deleted, but the prefs are always listed in everything: config. So I tried right click on preferences and selecting "Reset" on two of them. Only, which restores the values and does not delete the preferences.

Does anyone know how these two prefs put in my file prefs.js in the first place and why they keep coming back?

Mozilla has some sort of arrangement with this Web site or am I infected with some kind of malware that I picked up on the site Web of Imgur?

It is possible for a Web site change my prefs.js file and store information in this location, then cookies are the least of my worries!

    After reading this bug:

    https://Bugzilla.Mozilla.org/show_bug.cgi?id=992386

    I found this:

    https://groups.Google.com/Forum/?fromgroups#! Imgur/AJcTXtiOMPk/topic

In the second link, Christian Heilmann described how two preferences are used in the devtools:
    _______________________________________________________________________
The story is this: Firefox development tools have a great feature when you press SHIFT + F2 you get a command line to do all sorts of things with the browser. One of them is 'screenshot', which takes a screenshot of the page. "screenshot - fullpage" scroll the entire page for you and takes a picture of him. Now I was proposing to offer a flag - imgur to automatically download the screenshot on imgur using the API but with 400 million users, we will hit the limits quickly enough.
    _______________________________________________________________________

So if you have a page to scroll through to display everything, you can use this tool to make an image of it without having to take screenshots of portions and then photomerge all together. Then a developer can store the image on Imgur and have a link to the image is displayed with other developers.

Now I understand what is happening and I think I'll just let the prefs only. OTOH, since I'm not a developer, removing their values have no effect on anything.

Please consider this topic resolved and thanks anyway.

    New tab override (browser.newtab.url replacement)
    https://addons.Mozilla.org/en-us/Firefox/addon/new-tab-override/

With Firefox 41 (and later versions), it is no longer possible to customize the
page displayed in a new tab by the evolution of the browser.newtab.url preference
in the about.config. Due to the fact that the hijackers abused the
preference in the past, Mozilla has decided to remove (see bug 1118285).
Fortunately, by removing it, Mozilla has also introduced a new API to bring
This feature to life as an add-on. This module allows the user

I tried the user - set the page to a new tab in everything: changing browser.newtab.url config

41 of Firefox is no longer uses the browser.newtab.url setting in about: config because he was constantly attacked by malware. From 41 of Firefox, you need an add-on to change the new tab page.

    • If you are already using the "Restorer of classic theme" or "Tab Mix Plus" extension: There is an option somewhere (!) in his dialogues of the parameters to select another page in the new tab.

Depending on the size of your screen, you may need to scroll down to enter the address in the form. (See second screenshot attached). For example:

    • (Default) page thumbnails = > subject: newtab
    • Blank tab = > subject: empty
    • Built-in Firefox homepage = > topic: welcome
    • Any other page = > full URL of the page

Then tab or click this form field and you can test using Ctrl + t.

  • When I click on the + to open a new window I don't like the images that arise. I tried to change that in all: config; Browser.newtab.URL, but it will not

When I click on the + to open a new window I don't like the images that arise. I tried several times to change that through words: config; Browser.newtab.URL. I put in the site I want and it won't change. I tried to put in: blank and it don't work. I'm obviously something wrong - can you help please?

    Thank you

If Firefox is ignorant preference browser.newtab.url, the usual culprit is an extension.

You can open the page in Firefox Add-ons using either:

    • CTRL + SHIFT + a
    • "3-bar" menu button (or tools) > Add-ons
    • in the Windows "Run" dialog box, type or paste
      firefox.exe "about:addons"

In the left column, click Extensions. Then, in case of doubt, disable (or delete, if possible) not recognized and unwanted extensions. Do not forget that all extensions are optional, none come with Firefox, and you can learn more about them by checking their reviews on the site of the Add - ons.

Often, a link will appear above at least an extension disabled to restart Firefox. You can complete your work on the tab and click one of the links in the last step.

    Any improvement?

  • How to remove all occurrences of Yahoo from my "subject: config ' file?"

Thanks in advance for any help you can offer.

Somehow, I hijacked by Yahoo yesterday and ends as my default search provider. And, after that, the small magnifying glass where search engines are listed have disappeared. Firefox doesn't have to feel very safe!

I restored the search "magnifying glass" through "Customize", but I don't want any more 'surprises' Yahoo

The next four lines are copied from my "subject: config ' file." Are they necessary?

    browser.search.order.US.1;data:text/plain,browser.search.order.US.1=Yahoo
    Browser.Search.Order.2; Yahoo
    browser.contentHandlers.types.0.uri; https://Add.my.Yahoo.com/RSS?URL=%s
    browser.contentHandlers.types.0.title; My Yahoo!

    In addition, these two:

    gecko.handlerService.schemes.mailto.0.uriTemplate; https://compose.mail.Yahoo.com/?to=%s
    gecko.handlerService.schemes.mailto.0.name; Yahoo! Mail

browser.search.order.US.1;data:text/plain,browser.search.order.US.1=Yahoo > default search engine. This line is necessary, but you can define a different value to replace Yahoo, Google or Bing for example

Browser.Search.Order.2; Yahoo > if you use the American version of Firefox, this line is not used

browser.contentHandlers.types.0.title; My Yahoo! > corresponding to the 1st app/site used when you subscribe to a feed

gecko.handlerService.schemes.mailto.0.uriTemplate; https://compose.mail.Yahoo.com/?to=%s and gecko.handlerService.schemes.mailto.0.name; Yahoo! Mail > these lines define the 1st element in the list that appears when you open a link mailto: Protocol (i.e. an email address)

To conclude, except the 1st line, Yahoo does not work on your computer, unless you specifically choose to use when a context menu is displayed.
