  You can use a custom validation script, something like:

  Event.Target.Display = event.value = "choose"? display.noPrint: display.visible;

  To put this into effect, you will need to make a different choice and place it back to "choose." Another option would be to place as a custom Format script.

  If you wish, you can also stop Outlook of suggesting e-mail addresses as you type.

  Tools > Options.
  Tab "Preferences".
  Click e-mail Options.
  Click Advanced e-mail Options.
  Do not forget to uncheck "suggest names while completing to, Cc, and BCC fields."
  And OK your way out.

  This is a general question of ExtendScript, but since I work with FM, I'll ask here first. I have a bit of a paradox here and I'm not sure of the best way to manage it.

  I have a dialog box with a drop-down list, where I want to refresh some controls when the user changes the selection in the list (dropdownList.onChange). This includes them refresh the content of the list itself. However, the problem is, whenever I try to update the content of the list, onChange triggers again. So, if I put the call to update box in the onChange handler, it will result an infinite loop, because my upgrade function fires onChange when it refreshes the list.

  Does anyone know a better methodology, where I can safely triggers a refresh of a drop-down list in the list's onChange event handler? I really wish that onChange was reserved for an action of the user only, or at least there is a property for this purpose.

  Hi Fabio,.

  You can't "Refresh" a menu drop-down.

  But you can rebuild.

  You must do it "manually".

  As I do:

  1. I have a picture I want to show in the dropdownlist control.

  2. I have delete all children: myList.removeAll ();

  3 I have rebuild the list via mylist.add ("item", "myArray [index] in a for - loop.

  But if you know the exact position of the elements to remove or add, you can do so via splice()

  When the field has focus and the user types, the field then gets the first value that starts with the last letter typed.

  Is it possible to configure this feature for more respect then the first letter? While the user type "ab" and AR would have filled the "abx" value?

  There is no work around for it?

• How to prevent the drop-down menu when you click in the URL field?

  For some time there is Safari displays a short title in the URL field when you view a web page (for example, at the moment it says "Apple Inc").  Quite often I want to drage the actual URL in a note or on the desktop for later use.  Whenever I click in the URL field to do this, Safari down a bunch of icons corresponding to the bookmarks in the bookmarks bar, which is useless as my favorite bar is always visible.

  What I would do is to disable this action so that when I click on all I get is the URL so I can drag it somewhere.  Quite often when I drag the URL and domain of Favorites icons is visible, Safari think I want to lodge in this area and therefore mixes the existing icons around according to what path taking when you drag.  It's really very annoying behavior and there must be a way to disable.

  Probably a lot of ways to do this, but I would just give the combo a hidden CSS class.

  Put this in your page inline CSS:

  . Hidden {}

  visibility: hidden;

  }

  and then on your issue in the HTML drop-down list box form element classes simply add this: hidden

  Then, create a dynamic action on click of a button using JavaScript to remove this class:

  $("#P10_YOUR_ITEM").removeClass ("hidden");

• Help adding textfield with drop-down list selects

  I have a PDF with a drop-down list field called "SoftwareList" with a default value of "Select the software" and a text field called 'SelectedSoftware '. You can freely type in the text field to communicate your needs, or choose the menu drop-down. I want to add in the text field, which is selected in the drop-down list each time.   I would like to use the script validation custom from the drop-down list. You can use something like this:

  I've read about the binding of the two drop-down lists when you select something in the first box and then it adjusts the options in the second drop-down list box.  I love those who can use in the future.  I have a question a little.

  Can I have two lists that both selections control what fields appear below drop-down list?  For the examples list 1 to A, B and C list 2 has red, Orange and yellow.  I'll choose different combinations of the two and have different things to be displayed.  At Red and has fields 1, 2 and 3 show.  B and yellow display 1 and 3 and so on.

  Is this even possible or do I need to create different combinations all in one field and script the different responses that, I think I know how to do?

  Hello

  The problem is that you are hiding the subform, BUT you try to assign to the presence of individual boxes in the subform visible. It won't work, because the subform itself is set to hidden.

  Look at the boxes to check and see if you can group them in series that are always hidden or visible. Then script against subforms and NOT the boxes. If you can not group the boxes then you will just have to refer to them individually.

  The textfield object was just a typo.

  Disable search suggestions by right clicking the text field in the search bar and remove the mark in front of "Show Suggestions".
  
  Click the search engine button and open "manage search engines".
  
  At the bottom of this window, there is a box of [X] "see search suggestions."

  Before that I've upgraded to Firefox 4, the back button (as it is in all other browsers under the Sun,) had a drop-down list so you could spend a layer of back up and fall back on several levels. This is particularly important when there is a site you redirecting and you cannot go back only to back single click. However, FF4 is not-at least not by default - and I do not see anywhere in the options to add. Is he hiding somewhere I didn't, or that has been deleted?

  You need to click on and hold the back button or do a right click to access the menu drop down.
