Configuration of the database for the deployment of Hyperion Planning 9.3.1

Hello

I'm deployment Hyperion Planning 9.3.1. I read in many places that I need to configure a separate database for each component rather than use a single. Nobody knows the ideal of data distribution if I install the following components:

-Hyperion Shared Services
-Essbase Server
-Essbase Administration services
-Essbase service provider
-Oracle Hyperion Enterprise Performance Management architect
-Planning
-Hyperion reports & analysis

Can I configure EPMA and planning on separate databases as well? As for the configuration of data source?

Any help would be appreciated.

Thanks in advance

Shehzad

Hello

Best practices during the installation would be to create the DB sql distinct for each of your products as follows (you don't have to follow the naming conventions)

-SSP Hyperion 9 (hypHSS)
-Essbase Server (without SQL repository Req'd)
-Essbase Services Administration (hypEAS)
-Essbase provider Services (without SQL repository Req'd)
-Oracle Hyperion Enterprise Performance Management architect (hypEPMA)
-Planning (hypPlanSys)
-Hyperion Reporting & analysis (hyper)

Remember, if you are creating applications to planning you will also need to create a db SQL distinct for the application, as well as planning SQL db.

DataSource configurations can then raise the relevant DB.

Hope this helps

  • Documentation for the configuration and the deployment of SSO in WCI 10 g R3

I searched the Forum and the oracle documentation, but found no specific documentation on configuring and deploying single-sign - on (SSO) in WCI 10 g R3. I found the documentation for ALUI 6.1 but not for 10g R3. Grateful if someone can provide the same.

    Thank you

In addition to Ms. WIA, we support the integration of Netegrity Siteminder and Oblix (now Oracle Identity management solutions) against WCI. 10GR 3 administration guide includes a section on "Single Sign-On deployment" and "Common Questions SSO" that might be a good starting point:
    http://download.Oracle.com/docs/CD/E13158_01/AluI/WCI/docs103/map_WCI_adminguide_10-3/

However, it seems there is no information in the deployment (a mistake I think), to verify the portal 6.1 admin guide here:
    http://download.Oracle.com/docs/CD/E13174_01/AluI/Ali/docs61/Admin/SSO.html

Down from the link above, you will see information on the use of BasicSSO and CustomSSO to connect to other third-party SSO providers not supported. And I think that this KB below may still be relavent although old.

  • Question related to the deployment of Hyperion

    Hi all

I want to install Hyperion 11.1.2. Is there a difference between automatic and manual deployment services Web of Hyperion on Weblogic deployment. Is there an advantage if we do manual deployment on the deployment of the car.

    Thank you
    Prashanth

It's about what he says is: -.
manual deployment, you must deploy the web application yourself and configure everything manually.
Auto will deploy the web application and configure automatically.

Go with automatic deployment, unless you have a reason not to.

  • Creation of account balance for the end of the year in Hyperion Planning

We use the 11.1.2.1.0.83 Hyperion planning version. What is the best way to set up a return to the balance sheet account? Wouldn't be store or dynamic calc? A member formula should be used, or should we do it via a calc script? What member formula would look like?

Hmm, I give you the answer, you mark as answer but don't give me all the points, and now you ask another question? I do it only for points.

I am always curious to know if this can be accomplished by incorporating a formula of Member in the offset account and, if so, what the formula embeded script might look like.

^ ^ ^ The formulas I have illustrated and implemented could be put on a dynamically calculated member. As long as the weight is the first (I think the calculation order) the dynamic calc should be fine. I used this approach in planning applications in the past.

I created 2 models in my designer:

HYPERION_MODEL_TEST and ORACLE_SQL_SOURCE, the first has the reverse engineering dimensions ranging from planning and the other is to get the table that contains the members of my size. For the staging area, the synopsis in memory DB is used.

LKM SQL for SQL and SQL IKM in Hyperion Planning is used.

In the interface, I take the source table and the dimension of planning as a target I map the Parent, Alias account: by default, the data storage and ownership of aggregation (Plan1) of the target of the GBA in my dimension table.

All be saved well and when I run it I get the error, clues?

    Cheers, Sandi

First of all there is no interest in using the memory storage engine as the staging area if Oracle is your source, you can also use Oracle as the transit area, the staging area probably will not be used as usual a straight SQL query will be generated.
In your target mappings have also tried setting "run on the staging.

  • Unable to open the data on hyperion planning form

When I open the data form this message appears:
"Your data request refers to a member who does not know planning or Essbase. Make sure that all members are defined in the planning and Essbase'

First do you have confirmed all the elements you reference on your form exist in Essbase using EAS - if perform a refresh of the planning database solves this problem is the problem.

Then, confirm that if you use substitution variables, as they are indeed correct values.

  • Smart list and the text of the cell in Hyperion Planning

    Hi gurus,

is it possible that I can show text and smart list en cell

If so, someone can guide me to appropriate documentation.

    Thanks in advance

Use a planning instead of Essbase connection connection. You can use TxtCase

There are a few problems with the connection of planning, you cannot use DTS, attributes are not available with connection of planning.

  • Select the Member not level 0 in the form of Hyperion Planning

    Hello

    I have the next dimension:

    Total product (Lev 3)-> product-> product-> product (Lev 0) (Lev 1) (Lev 2)

In the form of selecting members, I need to dynamically select ALL AND ONLY members of level 1 (range). How can I do this?

I can't use a filter on an attribute, because the product range is not level 0 and the member functions (ancestors, children, Parents,...) do not seem to apply in my case.

    I thank you,

    Federico

I don't think that there is a simple approach. If your rating is sparse, then you can assign attributes to the level 1 members and use the form.

  • Brews a new dimension in the Application of Hyperion Planning

    Hello

I want to add a new dimension in the planning application. I have already some data in the ESSBASE cube.

Is it possible to add a new dimension, without losing the existing data. Please guide me.

    I use version Hyperion 11.1.2.1.

    Thank you
    Sunil.

To be sure why don't export you all the data in the format of the column, then you can create a rule from load to load again against a member in your new dimension.

  • Problems to change my url endpoint data control for Web Service design time vs deploy times. Where is the url of time to deploy the "deployment configuration" stored?

    https://blogs.Oracle.com/ADF/entry/changing_endpoint_url_for_a_web_service_data_control

Using this link as a reference, I created a data control Web Service, and when I deploy via JDeveloper for different environments I can change my point of endpoint accordingly on this screen:

    Capture.PNG

However when I change my point of termination at the design time, the changes do not appear in the screen "Configuration of the deployment. This would not normally be a problem, but our automated deployment (maven/ant) seems to keep picking up the url "Deployment Configuration" instead of what we change in the DataControl.dcx. So I have a few questions:

    1. Why is there a difference between what we have in the source code and what is shown on this ""Deployment Configuration "screen for manual deployment of JDeveloper? "

    2. where is this "Deployment Configuration" end point url located? I can change it during an automated deployment as I can on a manual deployment?

    3. What is the best practice to change a url endpoint to the Web Service data control with during an automated deployment?

It turns out that the connections.xml had the url of the endpoint that the profile of the deployment and jdeveloper was referencing at deployment time.

In order to get our automated generation work, we use a search and replace of Ant utility to change endpoint in this connections.xml before construction/deployment of the application.

  • Adapter ODI for Hyperion planning

    Hi gurus,

I have problem with definition for Hyperion planning server data connection. What database server, I need to use for the connection of Hyperion Planning. Planning of the app is on separate servers that the cube. Cube is on Essbase server. This means that I need to two different connections, one for the data (essbase cube) for metadata (server when considering app). Is this really?

I made only one connection on essbase server and try reverse engineering to cube essbase, which I made with the planning, of model, but it gives me an error:

[com.hyperion.odi.planning.ODIPlanningException: com.hyperion.odi.planning.ODIPlanningException: could not connect to the instance of planning on host hostname], [port] port, check if connect you are correct.

    Thank you

I put port 11333 on the server where is installed my workspace for planning, and finally I managed model of reverse engineering for Hyperion planning.

  • ODI for Hyperion Planning upgrade upgrade

    Dear all,

I really need your advice. Now we are in the process of Hyperion Planning upgrade 11.1.1.3 11.1.2.2

We must also modernize ODI. Hyperion Planning and ODI now run on the same machine. And after upgrade HP, it will be even...

So now we have 2 servers - current HP more ODI and new HP.

Could you please how to make the process of upgrading of ODI?

PS: I don't want to touch existing ODI. And I don't want to install the previous version on the new server.

I'd be happy if it was the way with the new installation of version ODI with migration of repositories for new machine...

Install a newer version of ODI in the new server. Then take the saving deposits of the ODI and restore them to new db.

Using the upgrade process, upgrade the ODI, then connect them with newly installed ODI.

With the help of ODIhome/bin/us.bat, we can improve the ODI version.

    Thank you

    Mady
