    Hi people,

I want to increase the RAM on my Tecra A8 (PTA83L - 02 k 014) to 2 GB. Currently she is 512 MB. But I don't know what configuration of RAM (DDR/DDR2, speed in MHz etc.) should I buy?

Please give me some advice. Also suggest me which are the best & reliable brands available in the market?

    See you soon!

Tecra RAM DDR2 support. Supoprted speeds: 400, 533, 667 MHz.
I suggest you to buy 2 x 1 GB (memory equivalent 2 modul necessary to have dual channel mode) RAM DDR2-667. I currently using Venus Kingmax 2 x 1 GB (PC2-5400, model name: KSCD48F-A8KB5) without problem and the dual channel mode.

  • This configuration of the RAM is good?

My laptop was originally 4 GB of RAM running Windows 8 Pro x 64 (processor i3).

This RAM is only a single stick of DDR3, but the motherboard supports 2 slots. Me is ever had a 2 GB DDR3 stick nine gave me.

I wonder if this combination of good Rams - a 4 GB and 2 GB on two slots? Is it compatible?

I plugged the 2 GB key to another location and Windows detected. My RAM was now 5.80 GB usable compared to 3.80.

I have read a few forums that RAM sticks must be equal in size to be consistent like having a 8 GB of RAM with two 4 GB sticks.

Is the RAM Installer good since I have 6 GB RAM for a 4GB and 2GB key?

    Thank you!

If it works - it's probably fine.

Many recommend - for most systems - be stored in "pairs" for best results. through this board - you do not follow these best practices.

If you begin to notice an instability of the system, take note of the questions and try to recreate them, then remove the additional memory (2 GB in this case) and see if the symptoms disappear.  (I'm not saying this will be the case - but if this is the case - it would be wise to focus on the memory do not match as a possible cause - just in case.)

I am the need for India to upgrade my system to 12 GB total RAM. Since I'm totally new to this sort of thing I need help regarding this.

As I said, I want to improve my total RAM to 12 concerts, but I'm quite confused which one I should go for.

I currently have with these options (I posted links for convenience):

These are referred to as shown on the Web sites.

    Can you please help me?

Are the specifications above correct IE compatible with my system? Or if you find these misfits, it will be better if you could suggest some product according to the configuration of my system? 4 GB works perfectly as well.

    Thanks in advance.

    Hi oceane

It will take time for me to look at the image it must be approved my moderators.

The Samsung RAM that you now would be this I guess:
    http://www.Amazon.com/GP/AW/d/B00CV5GWHC/ref=redir_mdp_mobile/177-5507417-4516704

No problem going in for 12 GB if you want to. But as I mentioned two identical RAMs have its own advantages.

Both the RAM you mentioned in the previous post seems consistent. Check if there are 8 schools of black memory on the RAM (physically) - chip look at their pictures. Some have 4 banks of memory even if the configuration of the RAM you need may be the same - they work sometimes in some HP laptops (from various feedback in this forum).

  • The RAM and HARD drive upgrade

    Hello

I put my laptop, at level

    8.1 Windows 64-bit, Intel Core i7-4700MP @ 2.40 GHz

    Currently 12 GB of Ram - 8 GB & 4 GB Kingston DDR3

    Currently 1 TB Toshiba HDD
    http://storage.Toshiba.EU/CMS/en/HDD/computing/product_detail.jsp?ProductID=409

I'm looking to upgrade the 4 GB of RAM to a 8 GB, I just don't know how many pins each room has. Any guidance where to find this without disassembling the machine would be very handy! -I think it's a 204pin?

Also looking to add a second hard drive on my machine, what is the maximum size that can take this laptop? Ideally I'd like an another 1 TB HDD (same brand) than my current. Is this possible? Then the hard drives of 1 TB overprinting two system?

EDIT: Is it possible to have the other as an SSD? Although that can't really benefits to have as a slave instead of a master drive.

    Thank you very much

    Dan

    Hello

    Manual - Page 2

    Plug

RAM: Yes, 204pin SODIMM SDRAM desired. You can buy the memory stick to the exact configuration & preference even brand that is already installed on your computer laptop & listed in the service manual, so that it works correctly.

Configuration of the RAM: 8 GB DDR3L 1600 MHz PC3L-12800 1.35v SODIMM SDRAM

Run this tool to know the configuration & Details of RAM already installed.

Page 51 details the procedure of replacement, fairly simple.

HDD: According to the manual, it has double drive HARD support. You can put another 1 TB 2.5 inch 9.5 mm SATA HDD. You can buy additonal material of hard drive Kit (HP PRTs number: 720237-001) to install on secondary Bay for data storage.

I would have preferred a faster 7200 RPM HARD drive with the cache higher like this , if you want more storage.

Alternatively, you can replace the current HDD with SSD of similar form factor (2.5 inches SATA 7 mm or 9.5 mm thick) and make as boot drive by moving the drive toward SSD HARD integer before replacement & put old HDD to secondary storage Bay. SSD would defintely thrust upward performance drastically, but they are expensive - I would say worth the cost.

Page 48-50 details the replacement procedure. Its relatively simple to do.

  • M420 blades - how to maximize the RAM?

I have 6 of them in production now and have undergone a DIMM failure so far.  I am looking to buy 4 more with maximum RAM (192G).

Using the online Configurator which tells me:

M420 blade supports a maximum of 3 DIMMS with a processor or six 6 DIMMS with two processors.

In order to get the 192 GB using the simple option provided by the website (16 GB DIMMS) I need 12, but the M420 contains only 6 DIMM slots.  What magic to cram 12sticks 6 slots?

Or is the maximum of 196G just a lie?

I test on the DELL CHAT to see if I can get a response.

Treona tells me that there is a DIMM 32 GB option that does not appear in the configurator.   Why?  Are not the DIMM 32 G bars in stock?

Treona says she doesn't know why the part does not appear, but she could quote it.  OK, so this is.  I use an active agent to get this maximum configuration of the RAM.

  • D10 BIOS AND O/S SHOWING ONLY HALF THE RAM INSTALLED

Computor was purchased with 8 1gig chips installed. The bios and the operating system report 4 GB.

When I remove the ram in slot 2, 4, 6 and 8, the bios and the o/s report 2 gig.

I have cleared the cmos memory and reinstall the RAM chips.

Although the seller insists on the memory chips live are all good, I think that my next step would be to draw all and reinstall them one by one. What is the best way to do this, start with slot 1 and 3 and then add one piece at a time and restart?

The problem has been resolved. It turns out that the RAM chips come from different manufacturers. 6 microns and 2 Samsung. All the chips worked well within the brand but do not work well together, I guess with some timing differences. I got all installed Samsung and all 8 concerts now appear.

    Hello

19 code means there is a driver conflict such as two devices attempt to use the same resources.

Step 1: Please do all the same underneath if you did some before as is often total
a process that solves the problem.

Try this - Panel - Device Manager - CD/DVD - double click on the device - driver tab.
Click on update drivers (this will probably do nothing) - RIGHT click ON the drive - uninstall.
RESTART this will refresh the default driver stack. Even if the reader does not appear to continue
    below.

Then, work your way through these - don't forget the drive might be bad, could be a coward
cable or slight corrosion on the contacts (usually for a laptop) and other issues.

Another possibility is that the cables are loose. Remove ALL power, then make sure that the cables in both
ends. Remove and replace, do not just tight. For laptops, you can often clean power and
contacts data with a pencil eraser.

Some DVD players do not use the Windows default drivers so check with the manufacturer of system and
manufacturer of device to see if there is a firmware or drivers for your drive if necessary.

    ===============================

Step 2: You have disc problems as the CD/DVD is actually 4 discs in 1 case (CD & DVD

    do it right.

  • What can I put the RAM and the hard drive of a Macbook Pro 13 "2014 in a Macbook Pro 13" 2016?

The main logic of my Macbook Pro 13 "2014 card is broken, and it turns out that it will be much easier and just slightly more expensive, buying a new Macbook Pro that, in order to replace. I would like to set up my new Macbook Pro 13 "online in a way such that it is as cheap as possible, while always respecting the level of my former. So, if I could order one with the minimum of RAM and disk space hard and then put these pieces of my old in the new, this would be ideal. As far as I know, hardware upgrade on W100 is very limited and I didn t find any info on the upgrade of RAM. Specifications W100 should have 2 GB of RAM and with the right configuration of the OS, it should be quite enough.

Please note: W100 is not classic notebook and upgrade is very limited on this little toy.

  • Cannot increase the RAM in end-15 27 "iMac, retina

    This question drove me crazy.

End of last year, I bought an iMac 27 "new retina (17.1 model) with 16 GB of RAM of factory. I have since decided to upgrade to 32 GB myself - but apparently not.

I tried both levels of separate module of Crucial (both sticks 2x8GB, configured by using memory widget Crucial own the latter, so I think it was the 'right' RAM). Both times, after the installation, my iMac would not start. I get the kernel panic, then reboot after reboot goes no further than the Apple logo.

Conjecturing that it must be a problem with Crucial RAM, I ordered two modules from OWC. This time, I realized an online chat with a Counsellor OWC just to make sure that the triple, I was getting the right modules.

Result: same kernel panics, same inability to start. After you have uninstalled the aftermarket RAM my iMac works fine.

And, Yes, I want to install RAM correctly (I did several times with previous computers that are much more difficult to upgrade). I also tried the papillotes in different slots (lots of combinations), switch reset PRAM, etc. etc. Nothing works.

I wonder... all the stories of 'success' on Amazon and Crucial and OWC come people who completely REPLACE their factory in RAM with spare sticks? Seriously, I think that the issue is an incompatibility with the aftermarket RAM and the factory stuff. On the other hand, I am reluctant to throw 16 GB of perfectly good 'Apple' RAM just to open the four slots for 32 GB OWC.

I know that Crucial has been (or is still) a provider of RAM to Apple, so this is really surprising.

It is interesting to try to pick up sticks 'factory' (which will be costly, of course)? I believe that my 'Apple' RAM made by Samsung. Is there a reliable source for this?

Or I'm doing something completely wrong? (Can't imagine what it would be. I've even been through a chat tech with OWC has nothing to help).

In fact, I wonder if I now won't be able to max out my RAM (assuming I decide to eBay my Apple sticks and just go all new).

Difficult for me to believe that the iMac is that picky about RAM...

    Thanks for the ideas.

I do not have a 2015 end iMac, so I don't know if the problem which arose with iMac 2010 might be similar; before connecting a couple of these very long old threads, most of the problems was: the iMac 27 "would go happily with factory all the RAM, or with less of a mix of OEM and third party RAM (12 GB) max, but would have problems with 16 GB of third party RAM maxed out. I used to have a such 2010 and stayed with a total of 12 GB of RAM (OEM 4 GB and 8 GB of RAM from OWC) worked well.

    Problem with 16 GB on 2010 iMac 27 "i5 & i7.

    I7 memory issues new iMac 27 "2010

Other than the usual suspects such as faulty RAM, RAM slot, or not seated correctly, if you have time, you might want to try to install unless the maximum - it is a shot in the dark, but...

  • Satellite M200 does not start after the RAM 4 GB upgrade

    Hello

I recently updated my RAM just to speed things up a bit as RAM is so cheap these days.
    I have a MEAC M200 T2130 Vista with 1 GB sticks (2 * 512).

The new sticks are 2 * 2 GB Dane - elec DDR2 pc2-5300, when I put the two and restarted the hard drive light came briefly and then it is just options BIOS of Idol, no POST.

I tried to use a single stick of 512 MB with two new sticks and they both work in a 2.5 GB configuration just not together that also this only works when the stick of 512 is in internal housing and not vice versa.

So if someone has had a similar prob or can give me some advice that would be great, I'm not sure if the motherboard can support 4 GB?
    Thank you, Dave.

    Hello

There are two possibilities why your M200 doesn't not start after upgrading RAM.
First the RAM installed may be not compatible or could be faulty or the computer laptop doesn't support 4 GB of RAM.

I put t know what M200 do you have exactly, but you can check the installed chipset and could check on the Intel page if this chipset would support 4 GB of RAM.
