The icons in the notification area of the bar (on the side of the lower right of the desktop) tasks are not all there. The speaker/volume icon is over now and the arrow next to the notification (to show and hide icons) area has also disappeared. I have not changed anything on the computer. I tried to restart but it did not help. No idea why this would suddenly disappear and how to get it back?
Have you tried right clicking on an empty area of the taskbar, properties tab and taskbar by selecting it and then pressing the button customize section Notification area? Icon 'Remove hardware safely' is missing from the notification area
I just reinstalled Win7 X 64 business but found that the icon 'Remove hardware safely' is missing from the notification area when I plug a USB key or external HARD drive (they don't work either by the way, I can view files in them no problem), I tried the solution of workaround suggested in http://answers.microsoft.com/en-us/windows/forum/windows_7-desktop/safely-remove-hardware-icon-missing-and-cant-eject/e9fda0a2-c308-4853-bf1d-a3926ff0fcd1?page=1&tm=1299855382970#footer , but it does not resolve the issue, I don't see the USB stick or external HARD disk in the dialog 'remove hardware safely '. The only way I can eject a USB device is click on the drive in windows Explorer and select "eject" while even "eject" is not available for an external HARD drive
Does anyone know how to troubleshoot it?Hello

My 'home' icon is missing from the toolbar. How can I get that back?
The little black House (the House icon) is missing from my toolbar. I always used to use to quickly go back
to start a new search. Why he disappeared, and how do I get it back? Thanks for your help. You can open the Customize and set the toolbar to display items.
- Firefox '3-bar' menu button > customize
- If the missing elements are in the palette to customize then drag them back into the window to customize the toolbar
- If you don't see an article on a toolbar and in the palette to customize, then click on the reset default button to restore the default toolbar configuration
If you right click on an item to toolbar in normal mode (non-personnaliser) mode, then you can remove this item from the toolbar.
- "Remove from toolbar" will remove this element of the Navigation toolbar and moves it to the palette to customize (Firefox '3-bar' menu button > customize)
- "Go to the Menu" will move this point '3' dropdown menu Firefox button bar
- "Move to the toolbar" in the "3-bar" Firefox dropdown menu button will move that point to the toolbar
