"Configure IMAQdx Grab" vs "IMAQdx set up Acquisition" on 1394 wrt buffers.

What is the real difference between these two functions with respect to the internal image buffers and the effectiveness of enforcement? I guess IMAQdx configure Grab have two buffers (space for two executives) by definition (I think I read somewhere...)

I do continuous acquisition and treatment at 60 fps and I'm done long before the entry of the next section. Even if somehow I lose frame (ie. do not have time to deal with), it is not a problem for me. Considering this, it is interesting to use IMAQdx configure Acquisition and defining as 3 buffers instead of using the standard IMAQdx configure enter?  I guess the real question is the existence of any gain in performance/execution when going form high level functions on the palette Image at the lowest level acquisition, assuming that I do so once a few hundred images I jump one?

The manual IMAQdx strongly suggests he'S functions for continuous use, but the only reason why he gives, is the possibility of losing a framework. Someone, please specify? Thank you

LV 2009 SP1 RT. 1394 with Basler A601F

Hi Andy,.

If you open the block diagram of the configure IMAQdx Grab, he calls the IMAQdx configure Acquisition VI. The entries to the Acquisition to configure assign acquisition continues with the number of buffers the value 5. That's what you were wondering on regarding the high-level Grab and its number of buffers, or I have simplified question you?

  • HP x20LED monitor is blurry. Auto configuration flashes to adjust, but setting does not

    Hello

I am running Windows 7 Home Premium on my Toshiba Satellite L665D.   HP x20LED second monitor is connected to the laptop.  It's blurred.  In the past, I was able to set the monitor, but it seems every time that I disconnect it and connect the monitor to another device, when I get back to connect to the Toshiba, the screen is a little blurry.

I decided it's not the monitor, but I could be wrong.  I have a Thinkpad T530 Lenova that I use for work and the monitor is clear when I connect it to this laptop.  However, when I connect the monitor to my Toshiba and I press the Auto button on the monitor, it flashes to make adjustment and it looks good for about 2 seconds, then when the flash setting is completed, the display returns to the screen blurred.  you s not terribly blurred, but after seeing how the AutoFix appears, I don't know why this setting won't stay adjusted better on-screen.

How can I get fit to stay?  I've updated the driver on Toshiba (Control Panel-> Device Manager-> maps-> ATI Mobility Radeon HD 4200 Series-> Driver-> Driver Update), but it does not solve the issue.  I don't know if it is the video card that I don't know where to find that on this laptop.

    Thank you!

    I thought about it.

In the customization --> wallpaper --> the position of the image --> 'Center'. I clicked on the 'Auto' button on the monitor and the blur has been repaired. Background theme images are now fill the entire screen instead of not completely fill.

Maybe it's a bug. I usually select "Fill" for the position of the image, but the sets were not filling the entire screen. It can depend on the theme of background selected - even if it's a pack of Microsoft. I don't know, but this fix worked in my case and maybe it will work for anyone with this problem.

The demo of DMM unmodified waveform produces the same error.  Other screws I have who use configured Waveform Acquisition.vi niDMM work.  I tried to restart Labview.  I've added the main VI for a project and check that dependencies are where they should be.  Any suggestions to solve this problem would be appreciated.  Thank you.

    Hello

I found documentation indicating that when this error occurs in what concerns a 407 x DMM, the problem could be that the F1 fuse connected to the 12V of the isolated side power has blown. You can verify that this is the case by using a DMM to hand to check the continuity across the fuse.

As this seems to have been an isolated problem, I doubt that is the case. I don't know why this happens only once. Perhaps there was a power failure or other variables that ignore us. If however, it is a problem, you may call OR and ask to do an RMA number (Return Merchandise Authorization). I hope this helps!

  • Cannot create an installer containing IMAQdx in 2014 of LabVIEW

I have a strange question in the generation of installers with a function IMAQdx in LV Application Builder 2014.

When I was building an installer for an executable file using IMAQdx in 2013 LV, Application Builder automatically selected additional installers needed and IMAQdx drivers (Vision Acquisition) were one of them. Now I'm trying to build the project even in 2014, but in the additional installers, I see only NOR-IMAQdx DURATION 14.0. When I build the installer in 2014 LV, the size of the file is about 300MB opposed to 900MB of the installer which has been built in 2013 of LV.

When I run the installation program from 2014 on a 'clean' Windows, install and run any application that uses IMAQdx, I do not see the cameras connected. This problem is fixed after manual installation Vision Acquisition software of DVD drivers for the device OR. After that, I can see all the cameras in the application and in MAX.

I tried to manually add additional installers in 2014 LV, but nothing helped. It seems to me that there is no way drivers IMAQdx bundle in LV Application Builder.

I found a post related to this and I wonder if someone can reproduce this behavior before dropping off a CAR. I have attached a simple project with a simple VI and installers of the sample in for testing. The VI allows you to select a camera (e.g. a webcam) and video image.

    Hi martin.zmrhal,

What you see with only the Vision Acquisition Software runtimes (VAS) available in the list of installers extra is expected with the latest behavior.

Before Vision Acquisition Software (VAS) August 2014, programs additional installation to after-sales Service, namely OR-IMAQ, e/s NOR-IMAQ and NOR-IMAQdx not only includes the runtime components but also for LabVIEW application development support. GO August 2014 and later, now only allow us the deployment of runtime components. This gives the advantage of a substantially reduced Installer size, but you can include more support development (ADE) LabVIEW applications is in the installation program.

This change aligns Vision with LabVIEW behavior and most of the other products OR you cannot deploy generally support the complete development of a product, but rather only the runtime components. If you need to install GO with ADE on your deployment machine, you will need to distribute the complete Installer GOING on this machine in addition to LabVIEW (to make use of the SAV ADE support). To do this automatically, you will need to write a batch file to run the installer for LabVIEW, then IMAQdx.

With respect to the second issue of not being able to see the camera, I think that what you are experiencing is that the drop of the control Session is dimmed and you cannot click on it to see a list of the cameras on the system. It is also the expected behavior for the runtimes are going TO. This does not mean that the driver is not well that discovery of cameras, and you can test this by typing the name of the camera in the Session control (for example "cam0" for the first discovery of camera on the system).

What we are looking for with this behavior, is for vision applications deployed to abstract the end-users camera selection process. Ideally, your code must list programmatically cameras with IMAQdx list Cameras.VI and then determine what device (based on the type of bus, serial number, model number, etc.) to the target. We are working on an application note paper that clearly explain with some examples, but the idea is similar to this example of community for NI-DAQmx devices: https://decibel.ni.com/content/docs/DOC-10014.

I'm sorry for the current lack of documentation on these features, but without a doubt, we are working to provide examples useful and other items in the knowledge base at this address. I'll post a link to the content as soon as it is available.

In addition, Vision Acquisition Software August 2014 f1 went live yesterday: http://www.ni.com/download/ni-vision-acquisition-software-august-2014-f1/4974/en/. The patch is also available through the Update Service, and it is strongly recommended that you upgrade if you still use drivers of August 2014.

    Kind regards

  • Problem with setting window of acquisition on 1429 PCIe capture card

    Hi all

Recently, I am using the Basler A504k camera with card PCIe-1429 of goodwill for the acquisition of images at high speed. I found problems with setting the acquisition window in the capture card using Measurement & Automation Explorer.

    1. for example, if the size of the original image is 1280 * 500, if I put the window of acquisition with left 0 and width 1280, everything is OK, but if I set the width to 1279, there will be an error (error 0xBFF6002C FIFO overflow caused the acquisition of stop), if I set the width multiple of 8, there was no error. Could someone tell me why in this case, is it because the packet data transfer for acquisition card rule?

    2. the window of acquisition is set according to the camera image, right? If the camera has also a function of area of interest, the acquisition window setting is always the image coming from the camera.

Attachment is my setting a MAX software.

    Thank you very much

    Hi xiaochunfly,

My bet is 1280 pixels image size is aligned on 32 bytes, and the material may actually go from line to line without breaking the transfers. With the width of the non-aligned countries, he needs to start a new transfer on each line, and this has an additional load on the PCIe bus and the system memory bus. Currently infrastructure IMAQ trying to adjust to any size of border/size possible image regardless of efficiency, it take the material and changes in recent processor Intel chipsets have reduced effectiveness with system memory bus performs under these conditions. So, you can get much better performance if you use line widths. You can also get the latest IMAQ driver because there was changes in the latest few transfer more effective under some of these conditions.

AOI is usually under the framegrabber. If you reduce the AOI who sends the camera, it seems often identical to the framegrabber as if you just had a camera with a smaller sensor. Thus, your AOI in IMAQ must be set to the size of that the camera is sending, unless for some reason you want to capture less of what the camera is able to set up on its own.

  • acquisition of bluetooth grab polar heart rate

    Hello!

I am trying to build a VI who receive the heart rate of the polar grab bluetooth device for the acquisition of the heart rate. I have create a vi, but data from it are just gibberish to me. So I don't know how to turn it into something useful. I'm using labview in 2011. So far, this VI looks like:

Data that fate of data looks like:

    Any help would be appreciated!

A wild guess, it is what has something to do with the size of the message and the fact that wire you a 12 for the "bytes read" entry:

bytes to read is the number of bytes to read. Use one of the following techniques to process messages whose size can vary:

    • Send messages that are preceded by a fixed-size header that describes the message. For example, it may contain a command integer that identifies what message follows and is a length integer that identifies how much more data in the message. The server and the client receive messages by issuing a function of reading eight bytes (assuming that each is a four-byte integer), converting them in the two integers and using the integer of length to determine the number of bytes to move to a second reading works for the rest of the message. Once this second reading is completed, each side loops to playback of the eight byte header. This technique is the most flexible, but it requires two readings for each message displayed. In practice, the second reading full usually immediately if the message is written with a single write function.
    • Make each message of fixed size. When the content of a message is less than the fixed size that you specify, touch the message to fixed size. This technique is slightly more efficient because only a single reading is required to receive a message at the expense of sending unnecessary data sometimes.
    • Send messages that are strictly ASCII content, where each message ends with a pair of return / newline of transport of characters. The playback function has a mode of entry which, when past CRLF, causes the read until you see a jump of line and carriage return sequence. This technique becomes more complicated when the message data may contain CRLF sequences, but it is quite common in many protocols of the internet, including POP3, FTP and HTTP.

I work in an environment were we have a lot of users VI. I develop the VI and technical personnel using the GUI (cover Page) to collect the data. In order to control the input parameters used on multiple hardware platforms, I'd like to develop a generic VI which will import or read a text file I created, and configures the DAQmx tasks to perform data acquisition. In fact, I have the generic VI full and need to understand how to make configurations DAQmx more transparent for the end user as long as the end user has the text file to import. For example, to generate the wizard DAQ DAQmx tasks based on information from text file?

I don't have time to do more than just a small example. The VI below contains a table with table fixed index functions. This would have changed to get automatically the correct rows and columns, but I hope that you have an idea. I does not have any code to define the type of temperature measurement or to set the correct configuration of Terminal. All of this plus all other possible options will be treated similarly to the definition of the type of channel and min/max which is located in the example.
