• Question about USB DAQ 6363

  Hi all,

  I'm new with LabView, currently, we plan to purchase NI DAQ USB 6363 to use the entry to read the value of the resistor, capacitor and a diode and use digital i/o to check the functionality of the analog shift register. I want to check if it is possible that NI DAQ USB 6363 to acquire communication RS232 function because I want to drive barcode interface on it. I'll use LabView to log the reading result of database (SQL, Access) to do some data analyzation. IM also confused on test bench OR what is the relationship between she and NI LabView? is this another software to install except for LabView?

  No, you do not connect an RS-232 device to the DAQ card. The RS-232 is connected to the pc. If your pc lacks a built-in port you can use a USB-> RS232 converter.

  TestStand is a test of the direction which runs tests written in several languages, including LabVIEW. He plans the tests determine the success/failure, record results, create reports, etc.

• Disabled Internet access after you apply the updates of Windows

  After you have installed the latest Windows updates, I lose all connection to the Internet. I can still see my network, but not do anything on the internet.

  I spent an hour yesterday on the phone with my ISP check it was their system, not a hardware problem with my modem or router.  I spend another 1/2 hour on the phone with Dell technical support.

  It turns out the issue was my DNS has been altered, and the only way to recover was to perform a restore of the system for 8/16.  Everything was going well after that... until Windows Update automatically ran last night, install the last two so-called critical updates. I don't know what is causing the problem, but my DNS was wiped out again, and I had again back 8/16 recovery point.

  I disabled Windows Update for the moment because I don't know how else to solve the problem; in the absence of any change to my system, I suspect it's updates are something to my DNS. Does anyone else have this problem? Is there a better solution or another way to solve the issue that doesn't require me avoid all Windows updates in the foreseeable future? Is there a way to know if/when a later critical update solves the problem created by these?

  The cause has now been identified as McAfee updates and no Windows updates - they were both released at the same time.  If one of your PCs have McAfee so that they might be confusing your test results.

  I have McAfee, but the connection has started working again on its own so I thought I was clear of problems. However, when I checked it says he was doing routine checks the updates in vain when I told it to do a manually.   If you do not have McAfee then Windows update that kb2705219 could be another cause that uninstalling that appeared to solve the problem for some users.  But, personally, I think they could only reached a temporary fix [I thought my PC was OK at the time, but it turns out does not do the trick, as explained above] to uninstall an update - panel, programs & features, [left side of the window] see installed updates. Wait until the system has finished the research for the list of updates. Select update required, then right click and Uninstall.

• Payment SDK deployment and testing Confusion

  I'm having a difficult time deployment and testing my application that uses the SDK to payment.

  I followed the documentation: I have app was transferred to App World then created a BlackBerry ID and registered under andbox BlackBerry ID e-mail account. I then conclusive to download the go to App World in opening and typing ALT + STST and then entered the code my application SKU. This resulted in the correct version being downloaded.

  However, when my application starts now give the error message 'Module 'paymentapi' ' could not be found even on devices with App World installed 3.1. I thought the whole point of payment SDK help is that he can count on being present?

  Advice or recommendations would be greatly appreciated.

  I found the answer to my question, shortly after that I posted, so let me share the answer with anyone interested.

  I'll try to keep this simple, honest.

  I downloaded the demo of Designer Web, beloved. Then I downloaded the demo of cloud CS6, on the same drive, I thought. Everything worked well. Then I subscribed to the cloud and it gave me some problems, so I contacted your Technical Support, that solved my problem perfectly (4 stars to technology!). EXCEPT, looking at my files, I see that they are on two discs and about four different folders. Some applications have even different names, such as "Flash" and "Flash Professional". Some of the shortcuts work, some hassle to me with "error 1". It's all on my Win 7 Ultimate 64 bit desktop. What I'm wondering is this: can I blow all my Adobe stuff, uninstall, deleating the rest directly from records that they are in and start over with a clean slate? All my work is saved elsewhere, so this isn't a problem but, having four different copies of Photoshop 64 is a little strange, not to mention disturbing. The subscription of cloud will allow me to recharge the same places (maybe) another drive just. I had changed the place of "save in" in the MAO, so I don't understand really, and at this point, all I want is a nice, clean copy of the CS6 cloud I know where is with icons that work. I'm sure most of this is my fault, but can you help me. And if I just delete the files that have no uninstallation program connected to them, that will mess with anything? One of the facilities is on my boot drive, I'd rather not have. I try to keep it clean of the apps and the cloud is large enough to be sitting on my poor little boot drive.

  Things that come to mind for me when reading about the issues - and your description you can reinstall permanently, which should not hurt anything. I could uninstall it first and see what is left behind. What ever is left after that uninstall should not need to be saved unless its files you have created and wanted to save. Possible explanations of these additional files, installation files potentially surplus of trial Web design, trial will often create an Adobe folder on the desktop that contains the installation files. You should not have the program themselves on the desktop only race in function shortcuts where they are really installed as C:\Program Files and C\Program Files x 86. So you might be able to simply delete everything that is on your desktop that you don't need or give you the error 1. Another explanation of duplicates may be some backup software that is making copies of your primary drive to a secondary drive. Its normal for Photoshop on Windows 7 64-bit to have two version, a version 32 and 64 bit.

• Boom P10 304 AC adapter 4.7 has enough? confused

  Hi, I am the owner of a Satellite SP10 304 and recently a problem with the AC adapter cable and needed to replace it... at the same time (as I did buying online), I decided to get a replacement fast using a FPS NB 90 19v but only 4. 7A instead of 6 has required and noticed yesterday that the portable lights up no problems, but the battery went funny and not billed at all to unload until the end and I could only run the laptop without battery, I know it's a problem old as I am confused about the whole debate of "should the pc powered by the AC adapter all online and not using the power of the battery"... so I left the computer laptop but incharge all night and this morning the battery was completely filled to the top and test it this way... let the laptop with the battery only to carry out of up to 80% and turn the machine on starting load as it should do... should so it will be ok? It is seems to behave ok now, sorry this larbi but I was tip in the rechanging of power due to the low Amper is true? is 4. 7A on the replacement device enough to charge the battery?

  Hi Marco,.

  If I understand correctly your laptop POWER supply works by drawing current from the power supply (if connected), or battery when AC power is missing. In addition, current surplus will come from the power adapter to recharge the battery when necessary.

  Your problem will be a lack of power available when the laptop uses applications heavy drain and there is not enough current available from the new AC adapter to meet demand. I suspect that in these circumstances that the PSU will go to battery power, even if the adapter is connected and drain the battery.

  When you run the lighter applications on your laptop, then there will be enough current to charge the battery normally.

  I think it would be better to get a power adapter with the capacity recommended for your laptop if you are running heavy applications of drain.

• How would you do that? 2 case of a test station

  I have a sequecne that works great stand alone, that now we want to add another test power to the system. It is not as easy as it may seem, here are the conditions and what we intend to do. I need to have either 2 instances of the running program or configure the sequence in batch or in parallel, but I'm a little confused on how to do it properly.

  Features of the system:

  • 2 - test fixtures with 24 pieces in each. The sequence works fine now with only one test. I decided not to do a batch with these 24 pieces because I have a single DAQ mx read for all of the object to be measured and there is no need to follow every 24 parts. they're all to fail.
  • The two test devices will use the same DAQmx device for measurements. Compaq DAQ with USB (device 1 is for the test set-up 1 and 2 is for the test set-up 2)
  • They share a DIO Board for some discreet signals.

  My questions:

  1. Socket 1 or 2 Socket may have parts on them separately. A my load 1 operator and not the other and start the test. During the test, they can load up to 2 and start it too. Both must run exercise but share the Compaq DAQ device
  2. How do you run the shared resource (lock during the measurement, semifore?)
  3. Is this possible at all?
  4. Can I run two instances of the same UI? It would be the ulimate. With 2 points of entry and 2 displays for the recall of the UI to write to.

  You can have several instances of TestStand running almost any version.

  Here are a few options:

  1. run two user interfaces and usage and asterisk to prefix your lock names (for example "* DAQmxDevice").  This lock will then share in all of engines.  In fact all steps of synchronization may use the * to precede the name of share it across engines.

  2. create a custom with 2 managers running user interface and then 2 sets of views of implementation on the front panel.  When they execute you can somehow indicate the file in sequence (with a UIMessage) whose execution were fired off the coast.  Then, he will know which set of DUT it is testing.  Use of the * tip for your locks.

  3. what you should be making use of the parallel model.  It takes care of everything in your needs right out of the gate.  In other words, the user can run what socket they want from the parallel dialog box.  Use the normal locking mechanisms.  I've attached an example.

  You will get the best performance and control of option 3.  Suffice to say.

• Test procedure general flow

  Can anyone recommend a general test procedure to determine the throughput of a data acquisition system.  I use a PCI-6052E on a PC with Windows XP Pro 2.8 GHz P4 2 GB of RAM.  My idea is to use a pulse generator and see when I start to lose samples, but being new to LabVIEW I am confused on how to anlyze the data and to know when this happens effectively.  Also, did the complexity of VI affect flow or is the buffer for LabVIEW big enough that this isn't a matter of concern?  To sum up, I am trying to determine the minimum and maximum of my system flow.  Any help would be greatly appreciated.  Thank you.

  You are right that the flow rate depends on the system.  Is the PCI bus bandwidth 132 MB/s theoretical, 110 MB/s typical.  It's a shared bandwidth, all other your system PCI cards will share this 110 MB/s.  With this in mind, you can determine your flow by running all your analog inputs at maximum sampling frequency.  The 6052E has a 16-bit ADC, so each sample take you is 2 bytes (16 bits X (1 byte / 8 bits)).  The maximum sampling rate is 333 Kech. / s, and there are 8 differential channels (asymmetric 16). For example, (2 bytes per sample), X (333000 samples/s) X 16 channels = 10.7 Mbps.  This should be well within the capabilities of your system (I say that without knowing your system completely).  I'm not sure how your computer might behave if it was beyond her capabilities, but I guess you would see irregular behavior.  If you are able to run this rate for a long time (several minutes) without any weird behavior of the computer, then your card cannot max on the speed of your computer.

  It is also a good preparation for the CLAD.

  When you take the CLAD, double check your answers. Don't let things like A = True and B = False travel you upwards. In addition, where more than one answer can apply can be tricky. Read them carefully.

  I think I can be confused by your question so can you answer the following.

  When you say 'judge' do you mean that you want the step to determine if the outcome falls within the limits set by the user?  The result is digital?  String? Boolean?  How the user enters the limits?

  Most of the time people use the numerical limit Test step to determine the limits of the measures.  This determination is made by the Expression of the State of the step, combined with the limits defined for this step.  How is the installation program sets whether step passes or fails.  If you let me know how the user enters the limits I can help you dynamically set the limits.  Which is most likely what you will have to do.

  Out of nowhere when I woke up my laptop mode 'sleep', I haven't had a black screen and the message "no boot device - insert boot disk...". »

  vents cleaned with canned air

  removed hard drive and reinstall

  removed and reinstall the memory

  a power reset

  the AC light is lit. I do not use the battery. It has been bad for awhile and I don't need so I only use the power supply.

• NEW HARD DRIVE DOESN'T HAVE A SEATOOLS TEST

  I posted the 3/22 on having missing NTLDR. Joel suggested the Seatools and it turned out to be a bad hard drive. Replaces and I tried recovery with a set of newly purchased recovery disks. Recovery did not work, I was told I needed work for drives cd-rom drive to work. Just put in the new rom but the recovery still does not work. It says it's from recovery, but does nothing. Very quiet PC and no action on the drive light. I tried the Seatools and it failed the short test. I don't know if it's software/driver error or pilot error.

  Sorry for the confusion. Re-reading the post looks that I speak in square circles. I was on my way to the door when I decided to make the post, just got back. The disk set is new. I got it computer surgeons, a third-party provider, exclusively for HP/Compaq recovery kits. I got for them through HP. HP initially sent me the wrong set, when I contacted them on this matter, they said that they no longer have the number build for my pc.  The guy at computer surgeons is one that says that I need a cd rom to work to perform a recovery, the multi media player would not work. It always seems strange to me. I did the Seatools test you advised on the first HARD disk, I had and he failed. The place where I had sent me another. He said that he would go several tests on her before shipment to make sure it was ok, and if I still had a problem it was probably the discs. I got this drive yesterday and it included the results of Seatools test with it. After installing it I ran again the Seatools. I wanted to make sure it was ok before I did anything. If something went wrong, I knew that I could not blame the HARD drive. Hope this clears it a bit for you.

  UPDATE: HANG THE FLAG! Issued either solved!  I tried the recovery discs again but this time I hit retry on two mistakes, that I continue to do - cannot recover, recover Windows 32 and couldnot, creator of tools. I gave up after several retrys who kept popping up but has not left the installation. I am in the process now of to update and delete.
