conime says manufacturer UNKNOWN - it is a Trojan horse?

In MSCONFIG I conime coming back without even when I turn it off.

I removed all instances of this registry, including LOADCONIME. When I rebooted everything seemed to have disappeared. But when I rebooted again conime in msconfig.

Startup item: Conime

Manufacturer: unknown

Command: %windir%\system32\conime.exe

Location: HKLM\SOFTWARE\Wow6432Node\Microsoft\Windows\CurrentVersion\Run

I can't locate a conime.exe file.

Since the manufacturer is unknown I am afraid that it is a Trojan horse. How can I erase this?

Here's what I've done...

Removed all instances of the registry in safe mode - BUT they come back!

I already ran McAfee scan, McaFee Stinger, Malwarebytes scan, MRT and ODILE.

Clean up outside CANDY pulled up an old version of JAVA - feat: Java / CVE-2012-0507 and it has been deleted.

Have also run SFC. This happens only with the following:

Can someone tell me why this is not signed if it is a real process of Microsoft? What is a Trojan horse, and if so how can I get rid of him?

Thank you

Simon

Hi Simon,.

To help you to propose measures to solve the problem, I would appreciate if you could answer the following questions:

1. you receive an error message or error code?

2 did you do changes on the computer before the show?

Follow the suggestions below for a possible solution:

Method 1: There could be a possibility that your computer is infected virus or Trojan. I suggest you scan your computer with the Microsoft Security Scanner, which would help us to get rid of viruses, spyware and other malicious software.

The Microsoft Security Scanner is a downloadable security tool for free which allows analysis at the application and helps remove viruses, spyware and other malware. It works with your current antivirus software.

http://www.Microsoft.com/security/scanner/en-us/default.aspx

Note: The Microsoft Safety Scanner ends 10 days after being downloaded. To restart a scan with the latest definitions of anti-malware, download and run the Microsoft Safety Scanner again.

Important: During the scan of the hard drive if bad sectors are found, the scanner tries to repair this sector, all available on which data may be lost.

Method 2: I recommend you to perform the restoration of the system to the point before the problem occurred.

System restore

http://Windows.Microsoft.com/en-us/Windows7/products/features/system-restore

System Restore: frequently asked questions

http://Windows.Microsoft.com/en-us/Windows7/system-restore-frequently-asked-questions

NOTE: When you use system restore to restore the computer to a previous state, the programs and updates that you have installed are removed.

Hope this information helps. Please come back for any clarification on this or any issue of Windows. We will be happy to help you.

  • Someone called me from the "World Wide Web" informing me that I had "a Trojan horse".

Someone said that they were in the 'World Wide Web', recently called saying me that I have a Trojan horse installed on my Windows 7 laptop and they will be "blocks my ip address" to stop the Trojan horse to spread. He said they have my 'saved' details and he says randomly a license number, but it could not determine which edition, I had (I have home premium and professional). So immediately, I knew it was a scam and hung up.

He then called again. There, with a strong Indian accent told me to go to MSCONFIG and said that services will slowly turn into a "stopped" if I continue. Then he told me to go to Task Manager and find CSRSS.exe (I knew it was a critical program) and I asked him more about "World Wide Web". He said that I could not re - install windows in 3 months and it could 'block my ip address' in 24 hours. So, I'm hung up once more.

I do not give away details.

I have Kaspersky Internet Security installed 2013 and it runs scans daily, but no malicious objects (such as virus or trojan programs) were detected.

I would like to know if some services must be under 'arrested' on MSCONFIG and more info on "CSRSS.exe".
    Thank you

Look out! It's a scam, those rotten bastards you to give them control of your PC, then try to sell you anti-virus software for your bank or credit card, they'll even install it without uninstalling your existing anti virus, not a good thing. They persist and if you fall for it and compensation they will ring in a few months and say you've scammed we will reply your money for a fee, give us your credit card details.

They scammed a few pension I know who have had to cancel credit cards after losing money.

When they ring back their request for a number to call them back on and see if you get a report that he's cheating if you have it, most places have a Government regulator.

  • My mails don't fade, computer message says an unknown error has occurred

As I said above, won't erase email, message says an unknown error and I can't move anywhere else.

It seems that if you have a set anti-virus to scan mail and emails have been deleted, so the database for OE is now corrupt, because he thinks, there are emails it which do not exist.  You can try my DBXpress program (www.oehelp.com/DBXpress/) to see if you can extract the messages from files (which I doubt), or from the hard drive itself.

In the meantime, see www.oehelp.com/OETips.aspx#3 and make sure that you do not have antivirus interference.  Then go to file | Identities and set up a new identity and add your email account and see if everything works very well.  If Yes, then you can use the file | Import | Messages to bring them from the old identity.

  • Is conime.exe Trojan horse?

Is conime.exe Trojan horse?  or what it shows in the process because I have connected to my Vista PC from a Mac via smb?  I have connected to my Vista PC thanks to the Finder of my Mac 'Connect to server' option on my wireless LAN.  I did some research on the web and some claim that conime.exe is a Trojan and others that it is a Windows system file. If it is a Windows system file, which windows uses it to?

Hello terbow181, try the following steps after reinstalling firefox:

    1. Reset firefox (this will keep your bookmarks and passwords)
    2. then go to firefox > addons > extensions and where there are still extensions listed there, disable them.
    3. Finally, run a full scan of your system with security tools like the free version of malwarebytes and adwcleaner to ensure that adware is not present in other parts of your system as well.

  • I received an email to update Firefox and trying to download my McAfee security it was a Trojan horse and stopped downloading

I received an email saying to use the link to update Firefox, on this operation my McAfee security said it was a Trojan horse and stopped the download. I deleted the email, but I just got a second one on. Is it an email address, I can send it to so you can check.

Mozilla do not send email about updated Firefox from a link in the email. Someone is trying to trick you into installing Malware or a virus on your PC under the guise of an update of Firefox.

  • Do I have a Trojan horse virus?

    Mac G5 10.6.8 Snow leopard

A year ago, I was on youtube and I clicked on a link and then I got a pop up warning for a Trojan horse.

I left Safari, stop my computer and Safari uninstalled and reinstalled.

Months later I began to purge all the file names I wasn't sure of as a flash drive and crossed to launch Daemon and Agents and many other things of type of extension and terminal used as well, I found the guardian of Mac and two things geniio, but I think it was here when I got the computer as a hand - me down.

I read as much as I could about malicious software and check the names of files to know, I even download ClamXAV and Avast and checked but found nothing.

My computer works quickly and I'm no sure sign, many cookies (about.  Starts in the middle of the night but the console says it's just my RST.

I doubt, with a real virus, I would get a warning, much less that he would still have install.

  • After an automatic update of the El Capitan, initialize to send diagnostic request. Is this real or a Trojan horse?

Auto-installé update for El Cap 10.11.2 12/17 unattended via usual application store auto-updated. When I opened to the top of the standby mode the MacBook was initially white Virgin, then spinning dot gray then the screen asking permission to send diagnostics to Apple and the developers. All looked for real, but it could be a kind of Trojan horse?

Whether it's a major OS update, such as 10.11.1 to 10.11.2, it is legitimate.

It will look as if you set partially up the computer again. Should ask you to allow the diagnosis must be sent, and then show a computer small logo that says: "Setting your Mac upward" with a few small "data bars" on the screen. I don't know why Apple did allow you to send diagnostics and set up your mac after each update. I guess they have to ask anytime you install new software to avoid any legal problems.

Get your installation media, product keys, backup, etc. all together.

Low level formatting (writing zero or zeros) the hard drive.

Your installation media to restore the system to factory settings.  (Clean install).

Continue to use your computer - but get best antivirus (eSet NOD32 AntiVirus - I suggest you not the sequel) and an anti-malware application (I suggest MalwareBytes AntiMalware).

Why this extreme?  In the end - it's what's going to happen anyway if you ever want to be fully confident in this machine again.

  • I tried to post a coupon on xianet and my computer has been taken over by a Trojan horse.

I tried to post a coupon on xianet and my computer has been taken over by a Trojan horse. My report says: Win32/fakeSysDef. He directs me to a data recovery site that charges $75 to solve the problem. No idea how to do to remove the Trojan horse?

Microsoft support addressed my problem and Javier took control of it and solved the problem.

It has been pretty smooth how I got the Trojan horse. When I tried to display a coupon, a dialog box came asking if I wanted to download a software. I clicked 'Cancel' and this is meant to 'run '. That's when all this started.
