Connect to a Terminal Server

I have three computers at home.  Windows XP, Windows Vista Home Premium and a netbook, that I just bought a Windows 7 starter.  All are on Norton 360.  One with Windows Vista cannot connect to my desk at work, a VPN server terminal.  I can connect fine with XP and 7 Starter.  I took the computer to my COMPUTER service and that they could not understand it.  I have configured my security at the lowest and still unable to connect.

Remote control cannot connect to this Terminal Server session. It is a known problem with Windows 2000 and XP and can occur under certain, rare conditions. To remady this situation, ask the local user switch to another session (connecting, on or off), or restart the computer.

  • X 220-problem of server terminal server / 3 G / VPN

    Hi all

I have two X 220 with identical problems. The procedure to connect to our server terminal server (Windows 7, server = v2008) is:

    -connect to the internet

-connect to the VPN (using the Version of Cisco VPN Client 5.0.07.0290)

-connect to the server terminal server

Everything works well when it connects via WIFI - and everything works well when it connects via the modem to broadband integrated into the X 220 until trying to connect to the terminal server. Then he said: Remote Desktop cannot find the computer XX.

That is, everything works fine up to this point. This includes plenty of internet work in 3G and VPN connection succesfull.

Since I have two identical machines - this should exclude material errors. It must be software.

    Ideas? Anyone?

My colleague has managed to find a solution. Install this update did the trick:

  • We have a new RDS terminal server

We have a new RDS Server terminal server running Windows Server 2008 R2 that we installed several of our applications on.  We have ten settings users (WinXP SP3) to connect to the terminal server through RDS to test applications with. The first time they have logged on the server RDS also connects to the domain when they start the first application on RDS, but only the first time. We have two users on the ten once they launched the first application after connection to RDS and the first journal in the field, they can disconnect from RDS and back in without having to log into the field to launch an application until they do one of the following values.  Go to a Web site in Internet Explorer, once they have come to any Web site unless the site of RDS, they must log on to the new area to launch an application or if they stop or restart their computer, they must log on to the new area to launch an application.   I tried to uninstall IE 8 and the same is true for IE 6. Not go to IE 9 again. I have re-installed IE 8 and applied all the updates window and the same results... None of the other users must connect to the domain again to launch an application after the first time. Any ideas on that?

  • x576dw - driver Fax Send or similar for Terminal Server environment

    Nice day

We use a MFP x576dw connected to a workstation. We would like to use this printer multifunction fax machine for users connected to a Terminal Server on the same network.

Is there a PC Send Fax driver or something similar that allows this? Drivers Fax Send I found do not support the OfficeJet Pro machines. I don't like to install more software supplied with the printer HP, a light Send Fax PC driver would be preferable.

The TS is running on Windows Server 2008 R2 x 64.

Thanks in advance for any advice.

    Hello

The Send Fax driver is part of the software full of HP and not available separately, however you can customize the software to include only the components of the customization of the installation software using the MSIEXEC command.

You can follow the installation of the administrators COMPUTER Guide below include information on customizing the software to your needs:

  • Services Terminal Server lack how can I add?

Services Terminal Server is absent and an external Seagate replica can prevent from functioning correctly. I have 7 and everything works fine.  To correct an error with the drive, I found this missing according to their help.  How can I add?

That seems odd... but anyway: Terminal Server Services is actually a full version of Windows Sever (or a Windows Server service), is not a feature that can be added to a client OS.

The forces of the Terminal Services are now called "Remote Desktop connection", which can be run by typing the command following in the "Run" box of Windows 2000, XP, Vista and 7: mstsc

Cool fact: Although the program is now called Remote Desktop, the command is always mstsc , because means micrometric Msoft Terminal SServer Cbinding, because it is used to connect to a Terminal Server.
So, in summary, Terminal Server Services cannot be installed in the OS.

  • Windows Server 2003 (64-bit), Terminal Server has 2 mouse pointers when you connect via RDP

I recently reinstalled one of our Terminal Server Windows Server 2003 (64-bit) servers.
When you connect via RDP, I get 2 mouse pointers. One seems to be the pointer to the session that changes of hourglass, etc... and the pointer remains under the arrow.

I have all the updates that are installed.
There is no options on the RDP settings like what I use on other RDP to the other Terminal server sessions and is not on any other I RDP server on my client.

I connected as other RDP clients and get with the same problem, is not a customer number
Is there a setting on the server to disable this option?

How can I remove the pointer that does not change in the session?

    Hello

I used the Terminal Server service to connect to a remote Windows XP/Win 7 XP machine machines. At the beginning of this, it was beautiful, but after some time, say 1/2 hours, this remote XP computer has become inaccessible and even I couldn't use Teamviewer is there to connect! But when I went to this remote computer to XP, I noticed his connection was fine and I could ping www.google.com on it!

    Hello

Temporarily disable the security software on both computers and check if it makes a difference.

    http://Windows.Microsoft.com/en-us/Windows-Vista/disable-antivirus-software

Note: Antivirus software can help protect your computer against viruses and other security threats.  In most cases, you should not disable your antivirus software. If you need to disable temporarily to install other software, you must reactivate as soon as you are finished. If you are connected to the Internet or a network, while your antivirus software is disabled, your computer is vulnerable to attacks.

I suggest that you raise a pension for this case, we can then allow some indicators of debugging on the connection and see exactly what is happening.

  • HP Terminal Server M602 list offline

Since Windows applied defender update KB915597 Friday June 6, model HP printer to the main office 600 does not print.

There are three same printers at the office here and none of them have been working for this patch was released.

    The driver used is - HP LaserJet 600 M601 M602 M603 PCL6 - both the 32 and 64-bit drivers are installed.

Have you tried the latest version downloaded from HP and the version of Windows, internal and downloaded from Windows update.

The driver is installed on a Windows Server 2008 R2 64-bit running as a server terminal server and each HP M600 is affected.

The VPN network tunnel is managed by routers to SonicWALL.

Web consoles are available to connect to and manage.

Have deleted and recreated the queues of the printer, but they show as offline.

If I disable the SNMP printer shows online, but, when you print to the printer, the job goes to the queue and it is sitting there.

Printers work when it is used as a local installed IP printer using the driver provided by Microsoft, but only on the local subnet. The copy redirected to this printer on the Terminal Server session fails and that the documents sent there so not go anywhere, they do not appear in the print queue.

It looks like a firewall/network issue and I hope that you have an idea of what must be the subject of an investigation, the port must be opened in order to get this corrected.

Applied the printer driver updated to Microsoft as part of the regular correction.

Restarted the SonicWall router and the system has been able to see the queues printing and printing for devices with standard drivers.

The solution was a restart of SonicWALL-

  • Terminal Server RDP is very slow!

    Hello!

I have a small network with a domain controller Active Directory (Windows 2003) - including the Exchange, I had a Windows 2003 Terminal Server initially, but have replaced the Windows 2003 Terminal Server with a Terminal Windows 2008 Enterprise Server (not R2). Windows 2008 is a completely new system, not an upgrade.

The problem is that the new Terminal Server ('08) is running very very slow one time the old 2003 Terminal Server is not present on the network. Although I use is no longer the old server, he seems to have an impact on the performance of the network.

For example, if I should shut down the old server, the new server becomes very slow. It takes about 5 + minutes to services/applications load after you try to connect to the server using RDP. You get a white screen for a long time before the icons are loaded and everything works really slow, including Outlook. On the contrary, once the old server is started in Windows, the new server works very well.

All servers are physical boxes and I'm not going to finally get rid of the old Terminal Windows 2003 server.

When you configure the 2008 Terminal Server, I did transfer the IP address of the Terminal Server, the Terminal Server 2008 Server, 2003 server and give the old server a new IP address. I don't know if it has something to do with the behavior, but the old server is not used. It is initialized only to try to keep the stable network.
