  It is certainly possible, in fact, it should be fairly simple how experienced you are with computers. Hand, you have a few options I can think. Was of course since I am not aware of what kind of hard drive in your old computer, you will probably need to buy an additional cable\cord\connector to connect to the motherboard, and if it is an old IDE drive, you can buy an IDE to SATA as one of them.

  This is all assuming you want to keep the hard drive installed on the PC. And although it may sound intimidating or difficult to do, it's really not! If you can put some screws with a screwdriver, you will be able to install the old drive if your new PC. Simply enter the model number of your PC to the HP drivers & support web page or click on the following link: upgrade and repair, (this is for the model number you provided) read the first couple pages & then proceed to PDF page #17. Read & review the instructions once in a relationship, print out the instructions if necessary, collect tools (flat head screwdriver & anti-static bracelet), then just follow instructions & take your time paying attention to the illustrations. It is frankly less work & easier than typing all of this out.

  Either way, you can easily connect to your computer must use one of these: existingUSB-adapters IDE that allows you to directly access a device of ATA/ATAPI IDE interface.   If your original WD Raptor drive is in good health, have you considered cloning it to the new drive and so keeping everything as it is without the need to reinstall and backup and restore your data to the e-mail and other applications?   I would first of all check if the drive is healthy, as the procedure could transfer some potential errors from the old drive to the new.
