Connected to Wifi?

I guess you could call a familiar URL which refers to 'something'. Just to see if the connection is open, probably will not work because there is a gateway authentication Web page that will load and return a value valid. What you are trying to check, is that the road is available...

I wish a 'ping' would work, who would be the less intensive...

  • iPhone will not connect to WiFi

I have an iPhone running iOS 10 6. Since I have updated to iOS 10, I had problems connecting to WiFi. It happened the first time I've updated and I read that it could be some issues with the latest iOS, therefore, some recommendations to restore the iPhone, I did and it set for a few days, but once again, the issue is back.

When I go into WiFi mid settings it does not recognize my WiFi network, but as he said 'safety recommendation' when I hit I got a message that says "low security, WEP is not considered as safe. Configure your router to use WPA2-Personal (AES) security type for this network"

This message never came until it again once I have updated to iOS.

    Any thoughts?

    Thanks in advance!

  • Still play songs from my iPhone when connected to wifi

Had this problem before, but it stopped happening a while ago only to re - emerge with the iOS 10 update.

I'm running on an iPhone 6 and used to play my music library on shuffle.

Over the years, I've deleted some songs from my library of songs, but they remain available for re - download in iCloud.

However, from time to time, if I play songs on shuffle when connected to wifi, one of these songs removed will be available on my phone and play.  It does not download to my phone and still only available for download on iCloud.

Is it possible to stop these removed songs to play on quite my phone when connected to wifi?

I'll add that I'm not on all subscriptions either except to increase my storage iCloud.

I believe that you open the music application, select "download music", then make your choices from there.  If you do not select the "download music" it will first play all the songs that you have purchased.

  • Does not connect to wifi

I just updated mi iPhone 5 to 10 of the IOS, but now I'm not able to use my wifi, I can connect to the network, but I am not able to connect to the internet. Help please

You must first check your Wi - Fi router: check if other devices can be connected. This will let you know if there is a problem with your Wi - Fi router. You can restart your router and restart the connection to WiFi.

Make sure that Wi - Fi and you can see your network

Go to settings on your iPhone > Wi - Fi and check if it is enabled. And if there is a blue check mark next to a network name means that your iPhone or iPad was connected to this network.

Restart your iPhone/iPad, router, cable/DSL mode

If this does not help, reset your network

On your iPhone, iPad, got to settings > general > reset > reset network settings. This will reset Wi - Fi networks and passwords, cell parameters and VPN, and APN settings you used before.

    These measures should help.

    Hello

I'm sorry to hear that you are not able to use your cell phone... Well well... like a cell phone.

I suspect the 'texts' you send and receive through iMessage, not your cellular service provider network. When you look at the top left of the screen, it does not say 'search' or does it see the connect to your provider's network?

  • Somes devices cannot connect to WiFi TimeCapsule more

Hi everyone, I am facing a weird situation.

Current configuration: the home Wifi is provided by a TimeCapsule, which has its firmware updated. A couple of device (10) are regularly connected (printers, iMac, MacBook Air, iPhone, iPad, iPod, etc.). Nothing very complicated.

    The situation:

This morning, I had 2 friends at home with their personal devices (one tablet of Nexus and an iPad 1st generation). I tried to connect to my Wifi and it never worked. On the iPad, the wheel turned in the parameter space WiFi and no internet connection was possible. No Wifi setting has been provided by the TimeCapsule (no IP, etc.). On the tablet of the Nexus, I got more details: he was blocked at the stage of IP address get.

Obviously, my first thought was to restart my TimeCapsule. Unfortunately, nothing has changed: these new devices have been blocked at the same stage and... my daughter iPod also got stuck. Exactly like the iPod from my friend. But has been connecting iPod to my daughter to my wife for the last 3 years!

My friends finally left, so the problem is "over", with the exception of the iPod of my daughter. Until this morning, he was perfectly able to connect as usual, but now no.: the wheel keeps turing in the Wifi configuration. I have obviously reset network settings: nothing has changed.

On the TimeCapsule, I see that the iPod gets an IP address. Also, when I change the name of the iPod in the control area, I can launch a sync to iTunes on the iMac and the iPod name is updated! So, this means that the iPod IS connected via Wifi, but it is not possible to browse the Internet or connect to what. The WiFi icon does not even appear in the top bar.

All other devices (iPad, iMac, etc) works perfectly.

    Any ideas?

    M.

... except for the iPod from my daughter. Until this morning, he was perfectly able to connect as usual, but now no.: the wheel keeps turing in the Wifi configuration. I have obviously reset network settings: nothing has changed.

As you probably already know, reset the network settings deletes saved passwords and network configuration details. It also exports the residual caches and preferences. Most of the time, it should be fixed.

As it didn't, the only other suggestions I could give are:

    • Go to the option "forget network Wi - Fi" in iOS settings and then manually try to join the wireless network yet.
    • If this does not resolve the problem, then possibly one or more of your Wi - Fi connection settings for your wireless network may have to be changed:
      • Make sure that the network name does not include spaces or special characters.
      • Don't 'hide' your Wi - Fi network.
      • Try temporarily disabling Wi - Fi security to see if the iPad will connect now.

Here's a tip for the user on the problems of Wi - Fi. Suggest from the top and bottom. Maybe one of them will help you.

    (1) perform a forced reboot: hold the Home and Sleep/Wake buttons simultaneously for about 15-20 seconds, until the Apple logo appears. Leave the device to reboot.

    (2) resetting the network settings: settings > general > reset > reset network settings. Join the network again.

    (3) reboot router/Modem: unplug power for 2 minutes and reconnect. Update the Firmware on the router (support Web site of the manufacturer for a new FW check). Also try different bands (2.4 GHz and 5 GHz) and different bandwidths (recommended for 2.4 to 20 MHz bandwidth).

    (4) change of Google DNS: settings > Wi - Fi > click the network, delete all the numbers under DNS and enter 8.8.8.8 or otherwise 8.8.4.4

    (5) disable the prioritization of device on the router if this feature is available. Also turn off all apps to VPN and retest the Wi - Fi.

    (6) determine if other wireless network devices work well (other iOS devices, Mac, PC).

    (7) try the device on another network, i.e., neighbors, the public coffee house, etc.

    (8) backup and restore the device using iTunes (ask for more details if you wish).

  • MacBook pro running on IOS 10.11.5 does not connect to wifi on its own.

My macbook pro does not connect to wifi instantly and sometimes not at all.

While he looks for the networks, if I click the wifi icon, it shows my network wifi under 3 bars in the list of wifi, but even if I click on my wifi, it continues to search without connecting to it. After that it seeks for a while, it connects sometimes, but most of the time, a new screen will be pop up saying please choose a network and it will show my network on the list. If I click on my network and tap on connect, it will connect instantly.

to connect faster, give less to think about:

then ruthlessly prune this list select everything except your home network and use the [---] button to remove tham all except one that is important for you at this time.

  • Why do I connect to wifi to download from iTunes?

I bought a TV series on iTunes to watch on my phone, and then purchase said I need to be connected to wifi. Why am I not able to use my package (unlimited) phone to download/stream data? I don't have wifi access!

There is a cell 100 meg download limit, and TV programs (regardless of size) cannot be downloaded on mobile - Apple used to have a help page that included, but it doesn't seem to exist anymore (I guess that the restrictions still apply):

For all types of content available, the iTunes Store for iPhone, iPad and iPod touch works over Wi - Fi. If you own an iPhone, iPad Wi - Fi + 3 G or iPad (3rd generation) Wi - Fi + cell, you can also use a cellular data network. Cellular downloads are limited to apps, music, videos, books, audio books, podcasts and iTunes files U with a file size of 100 MB or less, depending on the mobile phone service provider. You can not download movies or TV shows with the help of a cellular data network, regardless of the size of the file. Fees may be associated with the download via cellular networks; For more information, contact your mobile phone service provider .

Please do the following and after each test to see if the problem is resolved - if yes, then you can omit the following steps - I tried to list them in ascending order of the effort at least on a Mac and / or an iDevice

    1. Check if the problem is related to a single device and if other devices connect normally-
    2. If the answer 1 is 'yes' - try to connect the device assigned to somewhere else if possible - coffee or the University
    3. Please see recommended settings of WiFi routers and Apple access points
    4. Perform a forced - restart cela do not delete or purge all data and allows to solve many problems - here is how - press and hold the Off / On Home button and at the same time for about 15-20 seconds, until the Apple logo appears. Allow normal startup upward.
    5. Settings - WiFi - < network name > - Click on forget network - do a restart forced 4 and then again add the network
    6. If home - reboot the router by unplugging it for 60 seconds (power) and the plug and reconnect - obviously, this step can be done in a public place like a cafe or airport or University. While you're there - make sure your router is working on the latest firmware (check manufacturer's website)
    7. Settings - general - reset - Reset network settings - remember to have very practical WiFi passwords because it erases the WiFi passwords
    8. If it is a new specific net device in your home - make sure that the router gives enough DNS for all numbers which must / wants a connection - stuff like the printer, Chromecast get overlooked - ask for more details on this so not sure option
    9. Backup the device to iTunes - restore as NEW (no backup) using iTunes - see if solves problem - if yes - restore backup
    10. An appointment of 'Genius' to an Apple Store, or select another authorized service provider.

  • My iPad 3 does not connect to WiFi

I had some problems on my iPad with IOS 9.3 update 3.  The 9.3.1 fixed them (link between Mail and Safari did not work).

Last night the WiFi doesn't work on the iPad 3.  I use an Airport Extreme sitting three feet from the iPad 3 and it connects is my private or to my private 5 GHz WiFi WiFi.  My iMac 27 "5K connects.  My iPhone 6s connects.

I see some tips for others on other Forums for Apple users affected by this problem, but not a word here on Apple's Support communities.  I find it strange because I'm not the only one to see this problem since the 9.3.1 update.

I tried all the suggestions on other forums: reset Forget iPad3, restore Services network, the network and then re - link to it. Nothing seems to work.  I have reset the Airport Extreme (shutting off the power and then restored).  He sees all my other WiFi devices.

I can connect to cell phone (Verizon) and that works very well.  Just can't see WiFi.

Others on other forums have seen their judgment of WiFi after update to 9.3.1.  Maybe this isn't a widespread problem?

Any suggestions?  Anyone else having problems connecting to WiFi?
