  in our company we have 11.1.1.7.140715 OBIEE and we test Oracle Smart View 11.1.2.5.400 (Build 376) on Excel 2007 32-bit and Excel 2013 64 bits to allow our end users work easier.

  Unfortunately, almost all of our reports contains guests and when you try to insert an object in the Excel worksheet, we see the 'object' error reference not set to an instance of an object and Excel crashes.

  Our users report recently that Excel freezes when trying to copy and paste the value of the cell with enable Smart View, the steps they do are the following:

  Is the issue with this model/file?  What happens if the user is using a white sheet excel and did the same steps?

  If its this sheet only, check the display options smart for anything that seems unusual. You can also clear the metadata in the workbook, it could clear up what ever is causing the problem.  to do this, open the template, click Smart View-> Info-> Delete Sheet-> remove all metadata

  Dan is correct.  It is expected when connecting to Essbase of Smartview behavior.  The work around what he suggests is also one I have my team to use.  It has additional benefits.  You can do your work on a single sheet and then copy - paste special values only to the Essbase submission page.  In this way, you can use the formula to create your presentation, but not the formula on your shipment page.  Then, you can create a page of validation to make sure that the data matches between the two.

  quick, followed to my previous note, with a slight variation on the solution of JM, I've been able to resolve these two issues of users on a system of users that the key was not in HKEY_Local_Machine but in HKEY_CURRENT_USER.

  so, to quote with slight modification...

  Open regedit and locate the entry

  HKEY_CURRENT_USER\Software\Microsoft\Office\Excel\Addins\Hyperion.CommonAddin\

  and make sure that the LoadBehavior key is set to 3.

  My guess is that the difference was caused by the way in which it has been installed and the local user rights.

  You change the formatting:

  right click on the value, and then selecting Toggle field codes

  It should be in a format something like that {= HsGetvalue ("", "#POV SIZE") |} SmartView12343242342 | {General |}

  in this code, "Général" is the applied formatting, change it to your desired format by the thousands formatting {= HsGetvalue ("", "#POV SIZE") |} SmartView12343242342 | 0, 0. {00 |} for example will give you thousands, commas, with 2 decimal places.

  It's the same syntax of formatting that Excel uses.

  When I connect Analytics using a different language (Croatian) the same report appears in the form:

  This is as expected because in Croatia point is used as the thousands separator and the comma as separator decimal (European system).

  But when I export the report using Smart view to Excel, the data is exported in the first way (having first formatting)

  Since my excel is set to recognize the comma as decimal separator and a period as separator of thousands, the data I export Analytics is unusable. (Keep in mind, that I have even other data excel already formatted in "European way")

  Is there a solution for this problem?

  Do I have to make some corrections in analytics in Excel or in the parameters of SmartView?

  When you refresh this worksheet for the first time, connecting to Essbase, going to go ahead and automatically retrieve the data of the cube - it is a normal behavior.

  I have a spreadsheet that I recovered using Smart View 11.1.1.3 against Essbase 11.1.1.3.

  When I update this spreadsheet against using Smart View 11.1.2.5.215 11.1.2.3.500 Essbase spreadsheet seems to be remove the cells whose content is not a member in the database.

• Unable to access the Smart View 11.1.2.5.216 in Outlook 2007

  All,

  I uninstalled Smart View 11.1.1.3.x of my MS Windows 7 (x 32) Professional SP1 machine and installed Smart View 11.1.2.5.216 during the same session (that is to say, without having to reboot).

  While SmartView arrives perfectly fine when I access Excel, Word and PowerPoint and I can connect to the 11.1.2.3.00 EMP data sources, I don't see the Ribbon of Smart View under MS Outlook. This is in spite of:

  -After changing my MS Office 2007 installation to run Visual Basic Scripting Support on my PC for MS Outlook 2007 only (i.e., via Control Panel > programs and features > MS Office Standard 2007 > change > add or remove components);

  -remove the key HKEY_CURRENT_USER\Software\Hyperion Solutions and that underlie the subkeys, after uninstalling 11.1.1.3 and before installing 11.1.2.5.216

  There is no disabled COM add-ins displayed in MS Outlook 2007 and there is no other entries related to Hyperion (IE, HKEY_CURRENT_USER\Software\Microsoft\Office\Outlook\Addins\Hyperion.CommonAddin) to amend\delete under HKEY_CURRENT_USER\Software\Microsoft\Office\Outlook\AddIns. Also, I searched but could not find the Smart View PST file on my machine.

  Has anyone any suggestions as to where else I could be looking or what else I could do to activate the smart display in MS Outlook 2007?
