Connecting two servers vCenter for a server for SSO in basic mode

Can you connect two vCenter servers to a single server for authentication, if authentication single server configured in the basic Mode?

For example, I have two vCenter servers in one site. I have install Single Sign on server on a separate virtual computer.    Two vCenter servers use only one SSO server for authentication.  Does it work?

  • Newbie question: you have to have 2 servers vCenter for MRS?

We did turn ESX in recent years and have just started the process of implementation of the SRM.

I have a vCenter (virtual) server that manages the production and DR data centers. He usually works on my cluster of Production but can work on my DR cluster. It can manage all ESX hosts and see all iSCSI storage (IE production san and DR san)

Can I have a second server vCenter to implement SRM?

The documentation seems to require it

    Thank you

Yes, you don't have to have 2 vCenter servers.

  • Two servers vCenter and shared storage

    Hi all

Is it possible to have two vCenter environment, vCenter 5.1 and 5.5 vCenter and each vcenter has two esxi hosts to vCenter 5.1 a 5.1 host esxi and vCenter 5.5 has esxi hosts.

All four hosts to access the same shared storage (SAN).

VCenter hosts different access to the shared storage will damage the virtual machines on storage?

    Thank you...

Essentially access a data store from multiple hosts that are running different versions. However, in the case of these hosts are not managed by the same server vCenter Server, it is your responsibility to ensure that guests will not access the same VMs (records) system and maximum supported are not outdated storage vMotion tasks, for example simultaneous for a data store...

Also don't forget that functions like the control of storage i/o may not work as expected.

  • vMotion between two servers vCenter

From what I've read so far, it seems that this is not possible, but I just wanted to ask to make sure.

Is it possible to live migrate a virtual machine on a host managed by 'a vCenter server' to another host managed by "vCenter Server B? All subnets and storage is exactly the same (we have our own hosts and storage, but it's just all managed under a vCenter Server now). We're just trying to completely separate our hosts and virtual machines to a subcontractor who took over the virtual environment (with the exception of what runs my team)

I have the feeling that this requires time, which is unfortunate, because it means that it will take an extremely long time to coordinate and plan for all this work. Thought it was worth asking if...

    Thank you.

I did something similar week last during the upgrade a 4.0 environment. I installed vCenter 5.1, then disconnected and removed the hosts the old vcenter (without first disconnecting that will prompt you to place the host in maintenance mode) and finally added to the new vCenter Server without downtime for virtual machines.

  • Client AnyConnect and connections without client hang for two users

    ASA 5525, v.19 9.1 (5)

    AnyConnect client 3.1.02026

I have two users who are unable to connect through the AC client or no client via the web portal. The use of the client, it will get stuck in a loop of "check updates". On the portal, the connection will proceed to point "Cisco Secure Desktop validated successfully... Success... Reloading... Please wait. "Then it crashes here.

This problem occurs for the user, no matter which company laptop it connects to. A help desk technician can use his laptop computer and connect properly, but she could not connect on his own laptop computer or on another laptop. (Same for the other user.) So the question does not appear to be linked to his laptop or the installation of the CA. (Helpdesk reimage her machine early in the process of solving problems before they realized that the question seems to follow the user.)

I've updated the hostscan - no change in the results file.  Client and clientless connections seem to work for all users. We are puzzled.  Suggestions, anyone?  Thank you!

The LDAP protocol must be people - Active Directory server.  Chances are the one who manages the SAA should have access at least to look at Active Directory to look that up.  If they are not they need.

Of course, I don't know a lot about what you use the devices, but if you use ISE, there should be a type of device MNT (monitoring and troubleshooting) - collecting newspapers and, hopefully, they are sent to a certain type of overall collection of syslog (splunk?) tool.

Otherwise, there should be a device called a CAM (Clean Access Manager) who collects newspapers - which can also be spread to a global tool for syslog - but with cam, you can pull reports from the output in a file delimited by commas (.csv) and pass through them that way.

-The thing that annoys me, is he gets to two users any computer, they try to connect to any network to which they connect, and other users can authenticate and access network on these same devices.

-That is why it is rather confused.  Pretty much saying, there must be something with:

-the pool of intellectual property that they get an IP of

    -their powers AD

    -user name

-something in this sense, if the information provided is accurate.

  • Cannot connect two computers for games.

I am trying to connect two computers for games (Age of Empires 3) purposes, but when is connected the two with a cable ethernet (using a filter at one end adapter) nothing happens, I can't see not his computer on my laptop and it can't see my computer on his. In the game, I see his match but he can't see mine, and when I try to connect to the sound he says impossible to reach. Tried to make it work for days now and I'm at the end of my rope PLEASE HELP!

As a quick test to go Control Panel - firewall Windows and disabling the firewall to see if it works. If you have a 3rd party software AV Firewall control may be in this control panel software.

As the two PC is connected back to back without access to a DHCP server, they should award an APIPA IP address that should work. To eliminate the problems addressing assign a static IP on both.

Properties of the Control Panel - Network and sharing Center - change adapter settings - Rt click on Local Area connection-

In TCP/IP V4 each assign a static IP 192.168.0.X where x is between 1 and 254 and the 2 PC's are different so for example10 and 20, 100 or 1. The value of 255.255.255.0 subnet mask, save the changes and test the connection.

If disabling the firewall resolves you can add an exception to the firewall program to allow the age3.exe through the firewall. More information here, as you ar accommodation only play locally just look at the top.

  • vCenter vCenter for desktops vs. servers

I quote a customer 12 ent + licenses vSphere, VMware View Prime Minister bundle of 10, vCenter Operations manager and Director vCloud for 25. VMs by specifications, for operations and vCloud director you need to have a vCenter license in order to purchase these licenses. When I look in the specs for VMware View Prime Minister, there is a vCenter for included desktop computers. I don't know if I should quote a std regular vCenter for servers license or license notice will focus on what I need. Any help will be appreciated. Thank you.

The license of vCenter in vSphere for desktops can only be used with Office workloads.  So to answer your question Yes licecnse included vCenter is identical to vCenter Server standard, it can be used only with Office workloads.  If you use server workloads, you can buy a vCenter license.

  • Is it possible to have two servers for testing in 2014 CC Dreamweaver?

    Hello

Is it possible to configure Dreamweaver CC 2014 so that there are two remote servers and a test server? I know how to put up with 1 each but I have two servers that are running the same site (for business reasons) live.

    Thanks in advance

    Ben

Of course - you can add tests and remote servers in a site definition until you are blue in the face. But you can select everyone to be active at a given time.

To do this, edit your site definition and add the servers under the SERVERS category.

  • Separate the Server vCenter for VDI environment?

Should I install a separate to a new environment of view 4.5 VDI vCenter Server?

See 4.5 can potentially reach about 3,000 users, although he will start with a pilot and after that start to add users probably a hundred at a time.

Is our current environment vmware vCenter 4.0 Update 2, although I am considering upgrading to 4.1

We currently have a small VMware environment with around 30 guests and about 400 virtual machines

I was thinkng it would be good to have vCenter for our VDI environment running in a cluster in our existing vCenter environment.

It would be wise to tie our vCenters if we do not have two?

    Any ideas on that?

Has anyone has expereince with this size VDI environment?

    Thank you!!

    Tom

I prefer to run a separate instance of vCenter. Our deployment is much smaller than yours, and we run it separate because it isolates environments, allows to plan maintenance and does not affect the two environments, because VMware has fallen behind manufacturing discovers completely compatible with the latest versions of vSphere in the past (e.g. vSphere 4.1 requires 64-bit Windows when composer would not run under 64-bit.)

Especially in an environment as large as yours, I it would run separately.

  • Failed to get vCenter to keep in touch with the two servers virtual virtual ESXi 4.0.

I have a laboratory setup where I have two servers virtual windows (Domian controller and vCenter) and two virtual servers ESXi 4.0, on a Dell sitting bare metal Server ESXi 4.0.  So basically four virtual servers on a server phyiscal.  I can't get the vCenter server to stay connected to the ESXi 4.0 servers.  We'll always stay connected, and the other will be disconnected.  When I try to reconnect to the disconnected from vCenter Server I get a connection failure.  If I go directly to the ESXi box (the one that I can't connect to vCenter well) I can connect correctly by using the identification information same accurate I use however vCenter.  I'm running while mode track except metal nu ESXi installation that has the free license installed on it.  This is a limitation of the performance of the software in trial mode.  I hope not that would be nice to do for study purposes and to show the customers in a sort of demo of the installation.  Can anyone help plese here?  It is a laboratory configuration I do to perform vMotion, so I practice for my VCP.  Thanks in advance.

  • MD3420 SAS connection to two servers R720 (2008 R2)

    Hello

I was looking for some suggestions to my two servers for both see a table of MD3420 in the shared storage.  The idea of the preview is here: http://i.imgur.com/UeWyLvg.jpg

Initial Setup was very easy.  I installed the Dell MD storage software.  MPIO is installed, as is the Manager of SAN storage.  I have been able to put an IP address for management on the Bay, you connect and create a disk group.    After that, I could see the numbers of identifier for the host two and made port mapping that seemed correct host.  Once I did, I expected the partition not formatted in disk management in Windows.  I don't know where to go from here.   I have updated firmware on the table, which went well.  I looked in the Storage Manager for the without and he sees the LUN (even if it says uknown number.)  Any help is appreciated.

    Additional information:

    OS: Windows 2008 R2 Standard

    Bus adapter: www.lsi.com/products/host-bus-adapters/pages/lsi-sas-9300-8e.aspx

PowerVault: MD3420 with a single SAS module card

    Thank you!

I just spoke with Tech Support.  It seems that the problem is that there is no grouping installed between servers.  Unfortunately 2008R2 Standard does not support this, so it seems that we have to upgrade to the enterprise.

    Thanks for your time.

  • A regional VCenter for easy monument.

    Hi all

I'm trying to understand the best practices of using VCenter. Currently, my employer has several HA Clusters on ESXi 5.5. Each group has its own VC.  All clusters are distributed in many countries.

In the past I worked for most companies have had a VC by region (Group of many counties) that VC has been used for the management of all hosts.

I guess there is no problem with the route of a regional VC? Also HA work always locally between each paired host?

    Hello

If your WAN between your locations is bad and you have a lot of power outages, a VC by site may be a good idea.

As you can not do management tasks, deploy virtual machines, take snapshots, etc. when the connection to the vCenter server is lost.

If your network is stable server vCenter by region can work very well.

Also note that HA does not vCenter to work. It is just used to define the parameters of HA. Once set up, HA works locally on ESXi hosts.
