Connection connection to the port series of comments on the application, the host

I'm working on a project using Workstation 7.1.3 build-324285.  The application is a system running Windows XP as a guest.  The application has a CLI (Command Line Interface) hardcoded to use COM1.  I can reach COM1 by attaching a USB to adapter series and connection to the host and using a form of closure and an another USB adapter to series return to the homepage or another machine, where a terminal like PuTTY program is used to configure the embedded system.  However, I would use something like a named pipe to connect directly from Putty to Com 1 in the prompt without leaving a real interface series.  Is this possible?

I created a serial port in the settings menu of the virtual machine and which mapped to a channel named (//./pipe/com_1) and which can reach in Putty, but of course this works if the guest OS is in debugging and is not my app on COM1.

Thank you for your ideas and experiences!

Thank you

James

First, you must remove the prompt thinprint - it uses COM1 if it is active.

  • Comments network connects to the host

I try to install a Windows Server 2003, standard edition as a guest on Windows XP 64-bit. I'm trying to install a bridged network. The device driver for the NETWORK card in the guest system signals that it does not work because of the inability to connect to a resource. There are no events in the log of the host or guest system events.

While I don't have a single NETWORK card on the host, I tried the often suggested work around affecting the network bridge device to a specific NETWORK card on the host, that I want it to connect. This had no effect.

I tried to change the network to a NAT device ' ed and had the same problem - the unit on the guest doesn't seem to be able to connect to the host device. I also tried a single LAN and had the same problem.

    Little help?

    Hello

    Resolution

    Cause

This problem can occur if an ESX host's IP address is changed while being managed by vCenter Server.

    Check the cause

To check the cause of the problem:

    1. Log in as root to the ESX host using a SSH client.
    1. In the file etc/opt/vmware/vpxa/vpxa.cfg, find the IP address of the host. The entry looks like:

      10.21.48.121

Note: for more information about editing the files, see installation in VMware ESX configuration files (1017022).

    Troubleshooting

If the IP address is incorrect, perform the following steps in order. If the operation does not resolve the problem, continue to the next step. Don't skip a step.

    1. Disconnect and then reconnect the host:
    1. Right click on the ESX host in vCenter Server and click Disconnect.
    1. Reconnect the ESX host in vCenter Server.
    1. Restart the VirtualCenter agent on the ESX host:
    1. Stop the service of vpxa with the command:

      # service vmware-vpxa stop

    1. Open the /etc/opt/vmware/vpxa/vpxa.cfg file in a text editor and correct the IP address of the ESX host.
    1. Start the service of vpxa with the command:

      # service vmware-vpxa start

Note: for VMware ESXi, you may have to restart all the management agents. For more information, see restart the agents on an ESX or ESXi Server (1003490) management .

    1. Rebuild the VirtualCenter agent on the ESX host configuration file:

Attention: this step removes all the Statistics counters historical host and the virtual machine. If VMware ESX host is running in virtual machines that starts in a permitted CVS environment, you maybe won't be able to add the host without stopping the virtual machines first.

    1. Right click on the ESX host in vCenter Server and click Disconnect.
    1. Remove the ESX host disconnected from vCenter Server.
    1. Backup the file vpxa.cfg with the command:

      # mv /etc/opt/vmware/vpxa/vpxa.cfg /etc/opt/vmware/vpxa/vpxa.oldcfg

    1. Add the ESX host disconnected to the server vCenter inventory.
    1. Run the following command to view the contents of /etc/opt/vmware/vpxa/vpxa.cfg and confirm that the host IP address is correct:

      # cat /etc/opt/vmware/vpxa/vpxa.cfg

  • Interruption of the connection to the host ESXi 5.1

I did some tests on one of our hosts in preparation for the essential moving to Essentials more when I noticed that most of the vmnic reported only 100 MB Full Duplex connection speeds.  We have a Dell R515 with 2 cards Broadcom NetXtreme II BCM 5709, all set to auto negotiate, so I thought I'd try and force one vmnic to communicate to 1000Mb Full Duplex.  This had quite disastrous consequences resulting in a lack of connectivity to the host.  VCentre host is reported as Disconncted and if I try to connect directly to the host I get a type error "unable to connect".

Fortunately the virtual machine is still ongoing so I just need to get that host online.  SSH is turned off so I can't chew on the host, if I don't have physical access to it if necessary.

The management network is running on vmnic8, which is embedded Broadcom BCM5716, while I just changed vmnic6 on one of the Broadcom BCM5709 map, then why I lose o management network connection, I'm a little confused, any help appreciated.

    See you soon

    Dean

Just follow the steps described in the section "setting the speed and duplex of the NIC in ESX/ESXi host at the service console. In step 1, you will find links to find out how to enable Shell access. Basically you log in to the DCUI to allow Shell access in the "Troubleshooting Options" menu and press ALT - F1 to switch to the console. After the connection, use esxcli nic network list for an overview of installed vmnic network nic esxcli get vmnic8-n to display the settings vmnic8 and esxcli network nic address-n vmnic8-a to set the speed and duplex automatic. For more information about the command, see http://pubs.vmware.com/vsphere-50/index.jsp#com.vmware.vcli.ref.doc_50/esxcli_network.html

  • ' Could not connect: unable to connect to the host localhost: connection refused "on variuos orders

"/ hostsvc/maintenance_mode_exit" all returned the same error message ' could not connect: unable to connect to the host localhost: connection refused.

I checked the checked the file /etc/resolv.conf Bed & Breakfast.

I am able to ssh on the server as well as the use of WinSCP without any problem.

I can connect with the VI Client also without problem.

    Any ideas?

    The problem has been resolved.

    The fix:

    =====

    # vimsh-e - n/hostsvc/hostsummary | grep inMaintenanceMode

    Using the libcrypto, version 90809F

    inMaintenanceMode = false,

    # vim-cmd/hostsvc/hostsummary | grep inMaintenanceMode

    inMaintenanceMode = false,

Rationality for the problem is these commands (vim - FCM or vimsh) were unable to communicate due to lack of xinetd process.

    # ps - ef | grep-i xinet

    root 11527 25978 0 04:30 pts/0 00:00:00 grep-i xinet

/ * Further consideration on the problem of starting XINETD * /.

Further examination shows that the xinetd is unable to start because he believed NETWORK unavailable.

Starting xinetd uses the contents of the sysconfig file where there was an entry incorrect "NETWORKINcesv = yes". We have corrected this entry and restarted xinetd process.

After this correction, xinetd is restarted, the system seems to be normal.

  • An FTP error occurred - cannot establish a connection to the host. Internal data error. Unable to send data from network.

Recently, I started out of the blue to get this message when I try to connect to an FTP of Dreamweaver. I have CC was last updated. I have like 50 sites, more on different servers and none of them will connect. So I don't know, it can't be a server problem. Yesterday, everything was fine. I made no change what so ever. I uninstalled Dreamweaver and reinstalled him and I get the same thing. It is not the site for 30 seconds and then exhale. As soon as I hit the button to connect as 1 second later, I get this error. I have reset all modems and routers, etc. I can't find anything online about this specific problem. I'm at my wits end. I have projects due, but cannot connect. It's Thanksgiving and trying to solve this problem instead of spending time with the family. Any help would be much appreciated.

"An FTP error occurred - cannot establish a connection to the host." Internal data error. Unable to send data from network. »

Nope, that is not the case, I have disabled this service and now it works fine!

  • C# examples fail with "Failed to recognize the type of server or the version when connecting to the host"

I am currently submitting work for P2V conversion from a c# application. I tried to run the application remotely and on-site, but I get this error message (here is the full error):

    "< detail > < InvalidArgumentFault xmlns =" urn: Converter ' xsi: type = "vim25:InvalidArgument" xmlns:vim25 = "urn: vim25" xmlns: xsi = "http://www.w3.org/2001/XMLSchema-instance" > < vim25:faultCause > < vim25:fault xsi: type = "ConverterNotSupportedConnection" > < hostName > RSMITH < / hostName > < / vim25:fault > < vim25:localizedMessage > impossible to recognize the type of server or the version when connecting to the host "RSMITH". " < / vim25: localizedMessage > < / vim25:faultCause > < / InvalidArgumentFault > < / details >

RSMITH is the name of the machine with the VCenter Converter Standalone (5.0) and where I wan the VM to go. It's a Windows 7 SP1. I'm under .net 4.0 winform.

Any suggestions? I'm pretty much run the sample out of the box, except for wrapping a winform around it instead of an application console.

Cannot you telnet from your Converter machine on the source IDE oucederomsurlesecondport 9089 machine?

  • One of my sites always connects, but the other becomes had an ftp error cannot connect to the host.

My problem is in "connect to remote server". I manage two sites in Dreamweaver CS6, and they are hosted by the same guy.  A site still connects fine, but it stopped connecting. With the second site when I click the button I get a delay then "an ftp error occurred - cannot establish a connection to the host".

However, I can still access the second server in the remote site through an FTP program and support host confirms that my connection works very well from his computer.

I tried to do with the old stuff (1) Site > Manage Sites > export to create an .ste file (2) completely, restart the management of Sites (3) > import the .ste file (4) click on connect to the remote server - But that made no difference

The two sites are hosted by the same company does not mean that they are on the same physical server.  Your connection problem may be due to many things.

    • Username and password may have changed or been reset.
    • Server permissions problems (GoDaddy is known for this).
    • IP blocking.
    • Server is down.
    • etc...

Are you able to connect with an FTP 3rd party like FileZilla client?  If this isn't the case, I guess it's a server problem & you will need to contact your host.

    Mac OS 10.8.5

    DW6 error code.png
None of these issues are causing the error in DW CS6. We double-checked all of them and we did everything right. Also I have exactly the same SiteSetup in DW CS4 and that works perfectly well. Might need to factor 6 which did not exist in the 4? Something that is not in the SiteSetup but in a hidden dialog box?

I can also download my host using Fetch, a third party FTP. And like I said that DW CS4 works very well. So the problem is not with my host, sound with DW CS6 in particular.

You are most likely missing something fairly simple (some goofy box cache you in some menus random). The best way to solve this problem, without playing 20 questions...

1 open the site in DWCS4 and go to Site > Manage Sites > export to create a your site settings .ste file.

    2. close DWCS4 and open DWCS6

    3. go to the Site > Manage Sites > Import to import the .ste file to create a new site at DWCS6

This will create an exact copy of your CS4 settings in CS6. If it still does not work, let know us and someone should have another idea for you.

After creating an another Service Console unable to connect to the host by vSphere vCenter. How can I remove the now Service Console or make the old one further work well?

    Thank you.

This KB will show you the steps to re-create the Service Console, but you'll need to console or ILO access to the ESX host.

Unable to connect to the host.

Error: The specified version is not found

Any ideas why it does not work?  It is run on a Windows XP workstation.  The target server is on the local network and running ESXi 4.1.  The vmRun version is 7.1.2 and is installed with Workstation 7.1.2.

I also tried Ubuntu 10.04 with vmRun from a Workstation 7.1.2 installation.  There, he also fails with the same error.

Note that ESXi 4.1 is used to test installation is not allowed and is running in demo mode.  Management of the vSphere client works without any problem the same Windows XP workstation.

Any help would be appreciated.  Thank you.

You must install the full package of VIX by http://communities.vmware.com/community/developer/downloads. It contains only components to manage the workstation. Please note that I had to install in the VIX 1.10.1 order then Workstation 7.1.2 to get both to work on my Windows 7 computer.
