Connection network Center: implementation questions

Hello, I have three questions of beginners and hope that someone could help me.

My PC is connected directly to a cable modem and there is no other PC is connected.  So I guess that I don't have a network.  But when I opened my network connection Center, I see this information

Access: Local and Internet

Connection: Connection to the Local network

When I click on "View state" on the Local network connection, I see connectivity.  Given that I have not a network how can I have a LAKE?

When I click on 'Customize' on my connection, I choose 'Private', 'Work' or 'Public', which relates to whether other computers on the network can see me.  As I have other computers and I don't have a network, it is true that all the options are the same for my case?

From time to time, I would get the connection center network popped up when I restart my computer, is there a reason why it would come by itself?

I have Vista SP2, Toshiba Satellite.  Thank you very much.

You are connected to the cable modem - in some cases which can register as a connection to the local network (the internet connection through the modem being a separate connection).  You have more connections than just that one area and all the others show as active?  I do not play with a network that works very well and has no problem of security because it is directly wired with no wireless connections, but we can try to deal with these other connections if you want to (personally, I would leave enough alone).

In your case, the options will have the same effect (no one can get that way), but you should leave it as it is defined, since the system works very well now and there is no reason to laugh with the settiings and eventually cause a problem.

There is no reason for that network connection Center to appear at startup, if it is configured to do this (and then it should always appear and not only sometimes).  I can't explain it, except that it is possible that one of the connections is having problems to connect at this time including and the application opens in an attempt to help solve the problem (I didn't know it would do that - and it's never happened to me - but it's possible, but just a guess).  If this happens often enough to become a problem, come back and we will try to identify the cause (for the moment I have no idea).

I hope this helps.

Good luck!

    Hello

'Local Area Connection network cable Unplugged' is a message that applies only if you use an Ethernet cable to connect to the router.

See the documentation for your wireless adapter to find out how to connect wireless. Or number of the brand and the model this adpater for additional help.

  • No connection network in Windows XP

Have a laptop HP Pavilion dv6000 which was working fine one day and then the next - absolutely no network connection - either wireless or ethernet (local); even if the two network adapters are installed and have more up-to-date drivers.  In network connections there is nothing - all empty.   If I choose "New connection", going to be the Type of connection network and none of the boxes work.  Not going past this dialog box by clicking next.  Network Connection Wizard does not at all.  Some of the services that have air required to operate the wireless / ethernet - seem not to be installed and running.  Cannot find much googling that helps.

Anyone have any suggestions on how to get my network without reinstalling XP.

    Hi Tlswift,

Thanks for the information. Have you tested your relocation still. On a note side please remember that your key would be a good thing for this type of media that has been installed on your system. Which means that if you had retail XP you would need a key of the retail, OEM media you would need an OEM key. Alternatively, you can try to order replacement from Microsoft discs.  Please see the link below on how to filter of replacement order for yourself.

  • Notification area; disappearance of the connected network icon

Connected network icon has recently stopped appearing in the notification area, I can't see now, except by pressing the button Network Explorer, if I'm online or not. How can I restore this useful indicator of the network connection in the notification area?

Try to delete the two registry keys, but create a system restore point before you delete them, just in case something goes wrong.

Here's how, click the Windows Orb (start), type regedit and press enter in the left pane, navigate to Settings\Software\Microsoft\Windows\CurrentVersion\TrayNotify of HKEY_CURRENT_USER. In the right pane, there are two entries: IconStreams and PastIconsStream, right click and delete them, and then restart the computer.

You will have to perhaps with the right button of the taskbar > properties > Notification area (bottom right of the screen) and put a tick in those who are missing.

  • Why ASA in transparent mode require same subnet ip to that of the connected network

ASA transparent mode, why it is necessary to keep the management ip on the same subnet to the connected network?

What happens if I keep managing ip in a different subnet as the network connected?

If I only did traffic to move through to the asa and why?

    thanxs.

    Hello Vijay,

As you say you can use another, that is right, but the thing is that the IP address of management is not only used to draw management.

Who was you are missing the point.

That the IP address assigned to the ASA as a whole also will be used for ARP requests when the ASA does not know where the destination hosts lies and is not on the same subnet as the ASA.

It will serve as a source for packages destined to a syslog server, server AAA, Netflow server, SNMP server, and any package that ASA will have to create so in that spirit the routing of the network will have to be modified to work with that.

If you come to realize that the routing of the network works with a different management on the transparent address IP address then you can do it. I can assure you that I have seen this scenario before working with no problems at all BUD.

  • Problem of not seeing list drop-down connection to the wireless network when checking connections network - pc windows 7.

Problem of not seeing list drop-down connection to the wireless network when checking connections network - pc windows 7.

I just installed a Belkin modem-router - which went well. Can I connect WiFi gadgets etc. I can also connect to the internet via a network cable to my pc. I also installed a belkin usb wireless adapter and in Device Manager, says it is enabled and works.

My problem is, I have no way of choice get a WiFi PC to display in the list (from the notification area) and cannot get the pc to give me options to create a wi - fi connection. The more I get to try to do that is "unexpected error"!

If someone could help on this - I would be very grateful

Good news - update of my ongoing saga with this Belkin modem/router.

Got the pc to see wi - fi now. It turned out to be the Zone Alarm! As the router has a firewall, I uninstalled Zone Alarm completely. Also, I went into the properties of belkin usb and checked it was the most recent drivers, it does not so I installed them.

    So far so good

    Thanks for the help

  • Check if a virtual machine has connected network and connect if it isn't?

Thus, creating a big deployment VM automation workflow, I need a way to check and make sure that the deployed virtual computer has its connected network. However, I can't seem to find a way to generate scripts which correctly. Any ideas?

    Hello

There are different strategies. Look at the 'vim3waitDNSNameInTools' action, it waits until the virtual machine arrives with a given host name. Which ensures that this customization is done completely.

Alternatively you can ping the virtual computer by using the System.isHostReachable () method, find an example here: Ping on the workflow server

(I remember there were some problems with this method in previous versions, be sure to properly test ;-))

Another strategy might be to use the operations of comments and call a ping of in the guest operating system (with which you shall vro network connection to the virtual machine itself, you can for example leave the guest operating system ping the address of the gateway or so)

    Hello

Assuming that wireless router is configured correctly, it is a signal and the wireless card on the computer is physically in.

    Maybe this can help.

These steps and tell us where is the breaking point.

Check the Device Manager for the wireless card valid entry.

    http://www.ezlan.NET/Win7/net_dm.jpg

If there is no valid entry, remove any entry from fake and re - install the drivers for the wireless card.

Check network connections to make sure that you have a network icon/entry wireless connection, and that the properties of the icon (right-click on the icon) are correctly configured with the TCP/IPv4 protocol in the properties of network connections.

    http://www.ezlan.NET/Win7/net_connection_tcp.jpg

    ------------------

The wireless card drivers much also install utility wireless of the seller.

To ensure that if there is Wireless Utility a seller is not running with the native Windows wireless utility (Service WLAN).

    ----------------

Make sure you firewall No. preventing / blocks wireless components to join the network.

Some 3rd AV/Firewall/security software part, s costume keep blocking aspects of Local traffic even it they are off (disabled).

If possible set up the firewall correctly, /Security costume otherwise totally uninstall and get rid of its remaining processes that permit the own local network traffic flow.

If the 3rd party software is uninstalled, or disables, make sure Windows native firewall is active .

party like Hello and NetMagic 3rd network managers can block local traffic too.

    ---------------------------

Stack TCP/IP work should look like.

Right-click on the wireless network connection card, select status, details and see if she got an IP address and the rest of the settings.

    http://www.ezlan.NET/Win7/status-NIC.jpg

Description is the data of the card making.

The physical address is MAC of the card number.

The xx must be a number between 0 and 255 (all xx even number).

YY should be between 0 and 255

ZZ should be between 0 and 255 (zz all the same number.)

The date of the lease must be valid at the present time.

    * Note 1. IP that starts with 169.xxx.xxx.xxx isn't valid functional IP.

    * Note 2. There could be an IPv6 entries too. However, they are not functional for Internet or LAN traffic. They are necessary for Win 7 homegroup special configuration.

    ---------------------------------------------------

A message in the small window that says connected wireless doesn't means that you are really a valid functional connection.

Above everything is OK, you must be able to connect to the router.

Connection to the router means that you can enter the IP of the router base in an address bar in one go, being able to connect and configure the router menus see.

If it doesn't connect to the router, journal newspaper from any computer that can connect to the router wirelessly with a wire, disable wireless security, make sure that the wireless SSID broadcast is enabled and try to connect with no. wireless security.

Enable security wireless after you eat to make a functional connection.

  • Configuring the private network or disable questions for the network discovery in network and sharing Center.

I just got my laptop all cleaned and had everything updated. When I got it back I was mainly concerned how my network and discovery sharing would work, because we never had a home computer and a laptop computer at a time. Our PC at home has always defined for a private network. Today, they are both defined for the private sector, the laptop will probably always be at home too, but I was curious to see how the printer share everything would work on my laptop. It would not print and I checked just the settings that the guy I of any program for me usually had the top settings. On my laptop that I was first checking out and the network discovery has been to custom on both, one on my PC was on, laptop has never been verified we or off, file sharing has been enabled on both. public folder sharing off on both, printer sharing turned off the PC at home, but on laptop, so much time, I guess me to turn on the PC I don't know yet. Printer password sharing is on the PC and laptop. I try essentially whether it is what you would call a custom setting make for a firewall setting, or could someone please just kinda tell me if the sharing of network discovery should be turned on on the laptop and the PC, or was it not suppose to be turned on to the laptop, but on the PC only? Which should be lit and which should not be enabled in the configuration of the private network? I just want to be able to print my laptop if I want to. Thank you

            }

            return httpConn;
        }

I tried to use method 3, hoping at least a connection would work (note. I'm not a BB alliance partner, so BIS - B is out of the question):

    1. using WAP 2, using the UID from the smart phone

    2. with the help of Connector.open (url) (StreamConnection)

    3. with the help of (HttpConnection) Connector.open (url)

in the Simulator, the 2nd method works (using the connection of flow)

But in the smartphone, it doesn't, the response returns only the strange characters, for example, is the console log if I execute the Utils.getConnection method and attach the debugger to the smartphone (blackberry 9630 tour):

    My question is:

    1. I'm doing something wrong? I mean, I tried some connection methods, like using WAP2 by extracting first UIDS or using any transport available, but I still can't get the connection works in the BB smartphone (in the Simulator, it's OK, and I connect to the address is valid)

2 - is there anyway to simulate many different type of transport in the Simulator (BIS-B, WAP1, WAP2, WIFI, etc...)?

    Thank you very much

    Yusuf

  • Satellite Pro M70 - connection network wireless & query Update Driver problem

I have a portable Satellite Pro M70 under Win XP SP3 and would be very happy of little help and answers to the following problems:

1 Wireles Internet connection problem: my laptop Satellite Pro M70-220 (part number: PSM75E-00D008G3) is an adapter Intel(r) PRO/Wireless 2200BG Network Connection, with driver version 9.0.2.25, according to Device Manager

I am staying with someone, and I'm trying to use his internet connection through its network (WPA2) secure wireless home.
I could connect my laptop to the wireless network, but I can not get Internet Explorer and Outlook Express to work on it.
I tried the Intel Wireless driver update to the latest version of the driver 9.0.4.39, but got the same result, and I'm back to Driver version 9.0.2.25.

If you'd be grateful if someone could advise me on what could cause this problem and how to solve it.

    2. wireless driver update: site Web de Toshiba advised me for the two years that there is a driver update available (Atheros Wireless Driver v 7.7.0.406.2) for my laptop, but I have NOT installed, because the wireless network adapter Intel(r) PRO/Wireless 2200BG, NOT of Atheros.

    Ques:am I correct?

Question: Why the Web from Toshiba site recommends the Atheros wireless driver update?

    Thank you

    AlanCB

    Hi Alan

    1.
Can you use IE and other applications if the WIFI network is not secure with WPA2?
    You can test using WEP?
Just to be safe because of securing WLAN.

    2.
You are right. Your model has Intel WLAN card and if you need a new driver just visit Portal Toshiba WLAn under http://aps2.toshiba-tro.de/wlan/

I really don't know what service or upgrade of system you are using, but if everything works well you don't need any update to date.

  • LaserJet 2100 direct connect network assistance

Hello techies.  I need help please.

I have a HP Laserjet 2100 printer with a Jetdirect 600n (J3110A) card I am using with my plug for laptop Compaq V2615US as a direct connection.  It is without a server between the computer and the printer.

Has been fighting for more than a week. Time for me to reach and ask for help.

    It is not recognized.

Print a page of Cofiguration Jetdirect info I get the following information:

    LAN HW address: 001083F3A247

External Loopback 03 error is NOT READY i/o card

    TCP/IP STATUS: 55 CURRENT BOOTP/DHCP

    HOST NAME: NPIF3A247

    IP address: 0.0.0.0

IPX/SPX STAUUS: impossible to 29 net number of senses

    NAME OF THE NŒUD: NPIF3A247

I was able to CLEAR the error of closure by doing a loopback plug.

Using the network printer wizard I tried individually enter either the host name, IP address, LAN HW or name of the node above the address in the appropriate box.  NONE of them worked.

Somewhere, I saw a reference to a supposed "default" IP address of the 192.0.0.192.  Tried it as an IP address, nothing helps. Received a message on the screen indicating that it was a 'default' address and suggesting that it was not fair.

My computer's network card is a Realtek 8139/810 x Family card that is declared as working correctly by my computer and has already been used in the past in this way with a different printer.

    Key questions are:

1 what I'm missing or doing wrong?

    2 - is a dead Jetdirect card?

I can access a Jetdirect 620n card, but the application list I've seen doesn't have the list of the 2100 as a printer there.

It would be worth to try myself to a substitution of the 620n for my 600n card?

Thanks in advance for your help.

Without any kind of switch between the printer and the computer, you absolutely have a cable modem Simulator for your connection "ethernet".  You will NOT be able to use a standard ethernet cable.

Once you find this crossover cable and that you ran a test on the printer print to the default IP address (read the printer or jet direct instructions on the card to print or otherwise find the Jetdirect card settings) then you can create a new "printer port" using the IP address of the card direct jet to join the two.    192.0.0.192 isn't usually an IP address by any device (I've never seen anywhere.)  It would more likely be something like 192.168.1.xxx.

Also, you should be able to buy a switch 4 ports and do the same thing with standard ethernet cables.  Plug the computer and jet direct card printer on the switch.
