Notification area; disappearance of the connected network icon

Connected network icon has recently stopped appearing in the notification area, I can't see now, except by pressing the button Network Explorer, if I'm online or not. How can I restore this useful indicator of the network connection in the notification area?

Try to delete the two registry keys, but create a system restore point before you delete them, just in case something goes wrong.

Here's how, click the Windows Orb (start), type regedit and press enter in the left pane, navigate to Settings\Software\Microsoft\Windows\CurrentVersion\TrayNotify of HKEY_CURRENT_USER. In the right pane, there are two entries: IconStreams and PastIconsStream, right click and delete them, and then restart the computer.

You will have to perhaps with the right button of the taskbar > properties > Notification area (bottom right of the screen) and put a tick in those who are missing.

the wireless network icon is suddenly changed and I do not now see my signal strength... What do I do to fix this... ?

    Hello

Have you made changes on the computer before this problem?

I suggest you try these methods and check the status of the issue.

    Method 1:

Wi - Fi and in Windows network connection issues.

    http://Windows.Microsoft.com/en-us/Windows/help/wired-and-wireless-network-connection-problems-in-Windows

    Method 2:

You can also try temporarily disabling computer security software and check.

    Disable the antivirus software

    http://Windows.Microsoft.com/en-us/Windows7/disable-antivirus-software

Note: Antivirus software can help protect your computer against viruses and other security threats. In most cases, you should not disable your antivirus software. If you do not disable temporarily to install other software, you must reactivate as soon as you are finished. If you are connected to the Internet or a network during the time that your antivirus software is disabled, your computer is vulnerable to attacks.

  • Why ASA in transparent mode require same subnet ip to that of the connected network

ASA transparent mode, why it is necessary to keep the management ip on the same subnet to the connected network?

What happens if I keep managing ip in a different subnet as the network connected?

If I only did traffic to move through to the asa and why?

    thanxs.

    Hello Vijay,

As you say you can use another, that is right, but the thing is that the IP address of management is not only used to draw management.

Who was you are missing the point.

That the IP address assigned to the ASA as a whole also will be used for ARP requests when the ASA does not know where the destination hosts lies and is not on the same subnet as the ASA.

It will serve as a source for packages destined to a syslog server, server AAA, Netflow server, SNMP server, and any package that ASA will have to create so in that spirit the routing of the network will have to be modified to work with that.

If you come to realize that the routing of the network works with a different management on the transparent address IP address then you can do it. I can assure you that I have seen this scenario before working with no problems at all BUD.

  • Notification area disappears!

I'm running a Windows 7 Ultimate x 64 freshly installed (installed yesterday according to all the canons of the installation and all the jazz ), and sometimes disappears in my notification area of the taskbar ("syatem tray"). I can provide by clicking right on the spot usually and then modify some preferences; However this is getting boring! Note that I have no installed third-party screen savers and I have the latest video card drivers installed, everything is first rate, clean as a whistle. Also, I have almost no third-party program installed.

You can read this thread: How to recover lost / lack of system icon? . You will find suggestions such as this:

    1. backup the registry by creating a restore point.
    2. go to start > run (or Windows key + R), type regedit and click OK.
    3. navigate to the key HKEY_CURRENT_USER\Software\Cla sses\Local Settings\Software\Microsoft\Wi ndows\CurrentVersion \TrayNotify.
4 delete the IconStreams and PastIconsStream values.
    5. open upwards (Ctrl + Shift + Esc) Task Manager, go to the process tab, select explorer.exe and click on end process.
    6. open the Applications tab, and then click New task at the bottom right of the window.
    7. in the message box that appears type explorer.exe and press OK.
    8. Explorer.exe recharges, and the missing icons should now be in the system tray to which they belong.
    9. then if the volume bar is not there, go to the properties of taskbar (where the volume was gray) and just check the box.

Probably the problem was caused by some of these applications you already have installed. In the thread above someone spoke of nero 8, of course it can also be another application.

  • option 4-digit PIN code disappeared in the connection of Windows 8 options

    Hello

I hope someone can help with the above?

I have mistakenly entered the identification number that has been set up on my laptop in the password field when you connect on my new laptop and now I see more PIN option when he said options sign of change.  Clearly my fault because I wasn't really paying attention!

Now, I read somewhere that with W8 when you enter incorrectly the password 3 times now, which is clearly what I have done, that the option to connect using a 4 digit PIN, disappears!  If this is the case, how the hell do I now the connection option if there is no code pin to connect you to the help?  Please help and advise.  Thank you.

    Hello

Welcome to the Microsoft community forums.
Sorry to know that you are facing this problem with the connection to the computer with the Pin number.

Please help me with the following information:

    1. did you remove the old PIN until you have tried to create a new?
    2. is your computer connected to a domain network?

Windows 8 has a feature where you can use a PIN digit 4 to connect to your Windows account. If you are a domain user, this feature is disabled by default.

We will try the following methods and check if it helps.

Method 1: Try the following steps to remove your old PIN:

    1. Press 'Windows Logo' + 'C' keys on the keyboard to show the charms.
    2. click on "Settings" and then click on "Change PC settings" at the bottom
    3. Select 'Users' on the left of 'PC settings' Panel
    4. click on "Remove the PIN" under "sign in options.
    5. once the old PIN code is removed, try to create the new PIN and check to see if that solves the problem.

Method 2: If the problem persists, refer to the suggestions for arnavsharma

  • E1505 with Vista operating system repeatedly lose the connection network through a router WRT54G

    Model: Dell E1505

    OS: Vista Edition Home Premium

Processor: Intel Core 2 Duo CPU T5300, 1.73 GHz

Device of wireless network: Dell Wireless 1390 WLAN Mini Card

    Wireless router: Linksys WRT54G

My E1505 has a problem with the Wi - Fi being dropped at least twice a day / every day with an average of seven hours of use per day.  Almost identical to several offers from others, as I'm surfing the web and try to access another site, the connection just drops and I get the white screen indicating a network connection cannot be made.  Meanwhile, my utility for wireless LAN card reflects that I have a connection 'very strong' or even 'excellent '.  The only way to connect is to restart the computer.  I did a lot of research on the Internet and tried all the suggested actions to solve the problem (changing the settings of the power of the highest performance, by changing the channel of the router, updated drivers, etc.), but none of them have cured the problem.  I also spent more than 12 hours to talk or have a Dell technician remotely access my laptop to try and fix the problem, but nothing helped.  In the end, the so-called expert technician said they did everything possible and suggested I reload Vista on my computer again, or wait for the Vista Service Pack comes out with the hope that the problem is solved.

Can someone please! It seems that I left without other alternatives, but to spend the next eight hours, reload all my programs that are inexcusable.

Thanks in advance for your help.

I have a strange problem with a windows XP on my network system.

    Hello

Well, I use routers and I need to know my internet connection, notification of networking in my taskbar has disappeared!

I went to the "Properties" of my taskbar and I see the 'system' icon and it let me just check clock, not network.

    How can I fix it?

    Ryan

And my problem was gone the next day when I turned on my computer. I didn't do anything I know, always interested in an answer, but...
