Connection of Internet Time Capsule airport

Before buying, I asked the store if this would replace my sky router, they said yes. However, all connections are WAN/LAN, and there is no reference to a direct connection to my BT socket (via a broadband filter). Should I still my Sky router).

Unfortunately, the store bad informed you. The Apple base station, including your new Time Capsule do NOT have a built-in modem. You will still need a modem to access the Internet with it... then Yes, you can be forced to keep your sky existing for this hub or get a dedicated modem (no router).

  • Time Capsule airport 10057 error: computer recognizes airport exists but cannot connect

Hello everyone. I am currently unable to access the NAC on my Time Capsule Airport (not HQ one), as my password seems incorrect. However, this issue of mix, I am unable to connect using AirPort Utility at the Time Capsule airport in order to use a "soft reset". I can't push the button, but after that, it is impossible to actually access the settings from the airport using the utility.

I'm on Windows 8, using the AirPort Utility for Windows 8.

    I tried the following:

    • every possible permutation of IPv4/6
    • a_l'_aide_de CTRL + SHIFT + O, and then perform one) I don't have the password and b) if I type in gibberish it gives me another error (-6753)
    • disconnect, reconnect, reboot, etc, etc.

    Just to be clear:

    • I know that the WIFI password
    • I know the old password to the NAC
    • I do not know how to change the password of the NAC
    • My shift caps lock is not on

After a soft reset of the password is public... What have you tried?

There is no password on the wireless for 5 minutes during the soft reset.

In any case to fix... doing a factory reset full. No files are lost in the process.

Start from a factory reset. No files are lost on the drive hard in doing so.

    Universal factory reset

Turning off the TC... That is, remove the power supply cord or the power at the wall outlet, wait 10 seconds... Hold the reset button... be nice... Turn on always even now in reset... and keep holding in for another 10 seconds. You may need assistance because it is difficult to hold in reset and power on. It will show the success quickly flashing led front. Release reset... and wait a few minutes for the TC to reset and return with the factory settings. If the front LED flashes quickly you missed and simply try again. The reset is quite fragile in these... Press the key while it is just click away and not more... I've seen people bend lever or even break. I use a toothpick as a tool.

NB. None of your files on the hard drive of the TC are removed... This simply clears the settings of the router of the TC.

Make sure you use ethernet to connect to the TC, not wireless. It tends to work better that windows wireless Gets a bit NARKY...

If you don't know what that means NARKY... and I don't know what means NAC.

  • time capsule airport cannot be opened because the original item cannot be found

I just purchased a Time capsule airport and can't install. It flashes orange, and although that Time Machine backs up on it, and I can access the internet, I don't remember upward the back-up because I got the following error message:

"'Airport Time Capsule' could not open the original item cannot be found".

The printer is connected to the Capsule by USB works.

    I'm installing via an iMac.

    Help, please!

    Thank you

You first need to determine what is at stake that indicates the LED "blinking orange.

    To make your iMac:

    • Run the AirPort Utility.
    • Select the Time Capsule
    • In the pop-up window, all questions will appear in the status section.

    Please post back your findings.

  • Using Time Capsule airport on 2 devices

for some reason, I have a PET of brain here and do not understand this.

My wife has a laptop computer macpro she does his grad school stuff on.   I have an iMac.   I also have the time capsules from the airport.  the woman is set up with time machine, it sends data via wifi to the time capsule. It is very good.  The mine records at the same Time capsule airport wireless.

ME, I would use one different wifi router other than the airport on another network device I have, however, the question is: is it possible that I can keep the wifi for the operation of the Apple device and connect my computer via ethernet to the device for the back upward only, using the capsule on the imac.

I think I can, but I don't want to screw up the wireless network.

You can use both ethernet and wireless at the same time... but it becomes complicated with the gateway router and DNS values.

Secondary wireless router should use another address LAN IP for the TC, so you can separate the two networks.

This could lead to further questions about the network although because you must plug a router into the other I presume... unless you are completely isolate the TC from the internet or if you have in fact two internet connections.

    Give me the real details.

What is the second router and IP is running?

How is the installation of TC and what IP is running?

    Screenshots that make it easier.

I did a write up with screenshots here, which will give you the basics.

  • Time Capsule airport problems

I have several questions, setting up a home network, but I want to start with the problems I have with the time Capsule.

Until 2 days ago, the time Capsule was working fine.  My setup is the ISP router connected to the Capsule of time and the Time Capsule hard connections on a USB for extra storage and ethernet to an iMac.  Also several peripherals wifi like the pads and phones.  No problems.

This past weekend, I started to set up a home network by adding an ethernet (TP Link TL SG108E) switch to one of the ports ethernet on the Time Capsule.  Of the switch, I have then several ports around the House (recently redone to include an Ethernet cat. 5) connected now to two Apple TV and a security system at home.  No other device is currently connected to the ports and all connected devices work without any problem.

The time capsule.  In the past 24 hours, the time Capsule disappeared from Airport utility.  I can see the wireless signal and connect to it.  I use the time for constant Time Machine backups Capsule and continue without any problem.  I can see the Capsule in the Finder, can connect you and the USB that I have connected to the time Capsule, but no time Capsule in the utility.

My future plan must use two of the ports around the House with Airport Express devices to expand the WIFI, but as I can't see Time Capsule in the utility and I can't install Express devices.  However I tried to put in place one of the Airport Express devices and the process has begun to extend the Time Capsule network, but then I got a message "unexpected error".  So, first thing first, problem of Time Capsule.

    Any ideas?

    Let's first, as you note.

Your message did not mention if you had done a full Cycle of power network. If you have not already done so, it would be a good fundamental mission of troubleshooting to be performed, because he will give everything a new departure and will often solve a problem similar to what you experience. To do this...

    • Power off all the devices on your network... modem, computers, printers, accessories, mobile devices, etc. in any order you want.
    • Wait a few seconds
    • Turn on the modem and let it run only for 2 to 3 minutes or more if you want
    • Then, switch on the device connected to the modem and leaves turn a good minute
    • Keep power devices one at a time about a minute out until the entire network is back
    • Check the network

  • How can I change the name of the ion HD my Time Capsule airport

My time capsule airport has changed its name to data and now I can't use it. What can I do?

Not sure why you can't use 'Data' as the name of the disk hard Time Capsule, since it is the default value.

But, if you want to change the name of 'Data' to something else...

Open the AirPort on your Mac utility... (Finder > Applications > utilities > AirPort Utility)

Click on the image of the time Capsule

Click on edit in the window that appears

Click the disks at the top of the next window

Next to Partitions, you will see "Data".

Click directly on the name of 'Data' and the box will change to allow you to edit the name, just as you can change the name of any other player

In the example below, I changed the name of the drive 'safeguards '.

Click Update at the bottom right of the window to save the changes you have made

  • How to share a Time Capsule airport directory (/ Data / media /) with an OPPO BDP - 103 Blu - Ray player with Ethernet (no Wi - Fi) connections?

I have an OPPO BDP - 103 Blu - Ray player connected to my LAN via ethernet cable.  I also have an airport Time Capsule (APTC) connected by ethernet to my local network cable.

In addition to the use of PACT as a backup Time Machine for my MacBook, I have a few movies and photos in the directory/data/media /.  What should I do so that the law of the APTC as a media server to serve/data/Media/and the files in the hierarchy of files in this directory to the BDP-103?  I don't have a wireless adapter for the BDP-103.

Note that I use OS X El Capitan on my MacBook Pro, but I don't want to get involved them in this.  I want to just serve you directly the files on CLTS CLTS.

You can't do it unless the Blu - Ray player is a complete multimedia player.

Apple have no extension of media in a TC... No... nothing... zero... Nothingness... elodie... not a thing.

BTW, Apple do not support DLNA who need of most TV/media players... so they never get to add it in the future either.

To play media files on a TC you can use a WD TV live... because it's a media player... and he can read raw files... not only DLNA used media.
