Connection of windows 7 and windows xp Via LAN

I tried to connect my laptop (Windows XP then) Dell and HP desktop (Windows 7 OS) girlfriend. The overall goal is to play Minecraft together via a LAN connection (linking computers with an Ethernet cable) and not have to worry about the speed of the internet or other players.

That being said, I tried just to connect the two with Ethernet, but my computer wouldn't see his game. (It would be to see mine, but could not connect) So, I tried setting up a WORKING Group (manufacturing name, opening, file sharing, etc.), but now I'm afraid that I've screwed just this respect even more. Previously, both computers said they were connected to something, now my XP said that is "limited or no connectivity." She said "unidentified network"...
I am now at a loss. If I did something that should NEVER be done, please excuse me. I am trying to self teach here and this is my first real tangle. Help us!
Thank you.

  • Unable to connect to Macbook Pro and Photosmart 4580 via Wi - Fi

I can not get the Wi - Fi connection works!  I took all the troubleshooting steps listed for this problem.  Wireless shows that it is active on the screen of the printer and the signal is strong.  When I go through the steps to set up the Wi Fi connection it takes forever to establish a connection, then when I try to connect is says that the network is unavailable.  In addition, the HP Solution Center does not seem to load on Mac OS X.  Is there another way to access the network printer settings?

What kind of wireless router you have and what devices are connected on it?

Can you access the printer's internal web page by accessing its IP address?

If you can browse the printer web page, then we know that the printer is on the network.   The next step is to try to try a simple test only print.  Go to System Preferences and go to the Print & Fax applet.  Press on the + to add a printer and you should be presented with a list of all the printers on your network.  Select the C4580 / Hello 'Use of Print' select HP Photosmart P1100 - Gutenprint v5.1.3 and press 'Add '.  Now check and see if you can print to the printer.

  • Limited connectivity on Windows 8 Pro installed on PC

I installed Windows 8 on PC in my school and then he said 'Limited' on the network icon (the icon on the screen in the taskbar that has exclamation at the front sign) and I tried a few simple tricks like turning off the router then turn on again, delete all the DNS thing, proceed to 'ping' checks, nothing happen... and tried to install the network protocol still the same problem. Anyone could help my school to this problem? Any possible response would be really appreciated!

PS how my router school connected as... Well, there is a black box next to him and there is a wired LAN to connect to this area and then connect to the router and there is a LAN wired connection to the black box, and then I plug the network cable to the router and the LAN of the PC Windows 8 cable for this router It's like... the PC does not detect the internet, anyone could help please? :(

This is an annoying problem (and fairly common, as I understand it)-especially if you have upgraded from OS to work with a working connection.  A few suggestions:

    (1) verify that the operating system is not turn off the power to your network card
Control Panel-> network and Internet-> network and sharing Center
Click the connection that you have problems with.  This will open a status window.  Select the properties button, which opens another window.  Towards the top, on the right, select the button set.  You will now have a window with several tabs (properties of the network card) - that probably says "this device is functioning."  Then, select the power management tab.  Now, there will be a (probably verified) check box that says: "allow the computer to turn off this device to save power."  UNCHECK THE BOX.  Click OK.  You shouldn't, but you may have to restart.
Which is not to fix this?  Try option 2.
    (2) disable the Bonjour service.
Hello gets installed with lots of Adobe and Apple apps - things like iTunes - and has this annoying habit of hozing battery network occasionally on a Windows machine.  Note that is not on your machine, but it's something to check.
Hold the Windows key + R to display the Run dialog box and run services.msc.  Find the Bonjour service.  Double-click the entry and in the box that opens, press the stop button.  Once you've done that, change the startup type to "Disabled" and click OK.  You shouldn't, but you may have to restart.
Still no worky?  Then, try option 3.
    (3) reset the network stack
Applications-> prompt to find and do a right click on command prompt-> Select run as long as administrator-> select OK to fast UAC.
Run this command: netsh int ip reset C:\resetlog.txt
This may take a few minutes to process.  Once done its thing, restart.
    I hope this helps.

  • Can connect with desktop remotely all directions except via internet Windows XP to Windows 7

I have a new computer with Windows 7 Pro to work I need with desktop remote access so that I can work from home and be with the family.  For years I used remote desktop connection from home using Win XP SP3 to my Win XP Pro SP3 computer at work.  I am able to connect my old WinXP computer work on my new Win 7 computer (locally).  I can connect from home computer Win XP Win XP computer via internet (DSL) to work.  I can connect from Windows 7 computer to work at Windows XP home computer over the internet (DSL).

So, I have Setup port forwarding or modems DSL correctly, the IP addresses are correct, consistent remote desktop clients. Firewall exceptions are configured correctly.

What is different.  The new computer with Windows 7 Pro has McAfee Internet Security all others running EAST of Kaspersky.  Win 7 computer is new.  Since I am on various possibilities of connections, changed listening port of 3389 on some computers, including the new Win7 computer (this should not be a problem that I'm able to connect locally).

Disable the firewall (software Anti-anti-virus/IS) on both computers does not help. In any case, I can go to WinXP Pro to work on Win 7 computer to work locally.

My thought is that there may some security policies, or maybe a protocol problem which is different with the new Windows 7 computer that does not have a connection outside the local network (via a public network).

I also tried to set up a VPN connection integrated Microsoft: forwarded port 1723, the GRE protocol allowed to the DSL modem.  Tried all different scenarios between Win XP Home and Win 7 computer at work and cannot configure the VPN connection. I get error 678: the remote computer did not respond.

I spent hundreds of discussions help/knowledge base and discussion review.  I have seen or followed all the instructions on the various sites of tech Web to configure VPN connections and Remote Desktop connections.

Does anyone have an idea as to what could be the solution here?

  • How to connect my Windows 7 PC to Internet via Bluetooth on my Windows Mobile 6.1 phone?

I have problems connecting to the Internet on my laptop under that Windows 7, Bluetooth, plugged in on my mobile phone running Windows Mobile 6.1.

The phone is a Samsung Omnia GT-B7610 and can access the Internet via 3G.

I can pair the phone with Windows 7 via Bluetooth without problem, but I cannot yet access the Internet on the PC.  The process I use is:

-Pairing phone and your PC by selecting devices and printers > add a device, etc., etc.  The device is successfully added.
-Network and Sharing Center > set up a new connection or network > connect to Internet > set up a new connection anyway > Dial-up.  It is supposed to be a Bluetooth option on this screen, but I did not.

    When I do this:
Devices and printers > right click on the paired Bluetooth device > properties > Services tab, I see that Active Sync Bluetooth Service as the only service available.  Is this correct?

In addition, I can't get Windows Mobile Device Center to connect/sync to the phone via Bluetooth.

    Any help is very appreciated!

Hi Kiti, thanks for the reply.  I had just a little work there is, however I came across a program that makes it much easier: WMWifiRouter.  I highly recommend it!

Network connection error 0 x 80070035 - connect a windows 8 home and the computer windows 7. I can access the computer of windows 7 via windows 8 a, but it does not work the other way around. The network and the home group do not work on the windows pc 7. It also will not let me install the windows printer 8 to the computer in windows 7 although it says on the network page that a new printer is available and he has a little "install the printer" button.

I am able to access everything on the pc of windows 8 and was able to access the computer windows 7 from another windows pc 7, which used to be on the network. I don't know what is the issue. Everything on all computers is to openly share.

Hello! It turns out it was my antivirus. I had to add the network in the section Kaspersky trust. Now it works! Thank you.

  • WIndows 8; can't connect to certain websites and games on the internet

So, here's the deal, I have windows 8 and use IE10. I play an online game called World of Tanks and until yesterday, there was no problem of this game. Now for some reason I can't connect to the game on the server, more site of World of Tanks is not connectable for me also.

    Basic troubleshooting I've done so far;

I downloaded Google Chrome and tried the site via the browser, no solution.

I ran the diagnostic Windows programs, they regularly report that the site is online, but I can't connect.

I can easily access both game and website via my sister's computer, so it's not the fault of game websites.

I used a removal tool to rid my computer of McAfee, there is nothing.

I have temporarily disabled firewall programs Windows, still no change.

Sometimes, the game works fine, but usually it is unable to connect.

I restored IE10 default settings and deleted all history, etc.

I rebooted the computer, I rebooted my router.

I don't understand why two different browsers would not connect to a site that I can easily access other computers/devices on the same router. I don't understand why sometimes I can connect to the game and other times I can't.

I would also like to mention it as a local issue, I can chat with 'friends' who are also playing the game, and they report no these failures/challenges.

    Thanks for any help.

I have the same issue, but with several different sites on WIN8/IE10... I couldn't access the site of Ebay in a few days, if I can access hundreds of other sites very well.

However, I don't think that this problem is related to IE 10 specifically, I can't access those sites when you use Chrome or Firefox.   I recently bought three new laptops with WIN8 and having exactly the same problem on all three machines. Can still access those sites very well on any of our old machines running XP or WIN7... same corporate network.  Confirmed that sites are online and working very well; connection is good; router is fine.  The only common denominator is that WIN8 blocking some sites... I can't figure out how.  BTW, I was able to access the site worldftanks very well.  I know this topic question addressing "issues of game", but I suspect that the cause may be the same as what tommay11 knew.  I was curious to know if he has a solution. Any help would be appreciated. Thank you

  • Firefox asked me to upgrade my sound system & in the process, I have installed a Zombie and I can't uninstall it in Windows 7 via my control panel. Prva Nice

Firefox asked me to upgrade my sound system & in the process, I have installed a Zombie and I can't uninstall it in Windows 7 via my control panel. I expected more of Firefox as a privacy feature!

Sorry to hear about this, you should always beware of the pop-ups - never open or install anything, unless it is on the official website. Firefox has built-in features (and extensions that you need to find and install) to protect your privacy and security, but all users must still be careful with their browsing habits. You can report malicious links to the FBI Internet Crime Complaint Center here: http://www.ic3.gov/complaint/default.aspx

You can also report false web documents by clicking on:

    • Help > report false Web, or
    • >

      > Report false Web

Regarding your malware, please follow this guide:

After removing your malware, consider extensions such as Adblock Plus.

I am trying to install Windows 7 via USB, (El Capitan, Macbook Pro - early 2011), but this mistake "No. BOOTABLE DEVICE - INSERT BOOT DISK AND press ANY KEY ' when bootcamp restart my macbook to begin the installation. Any ideas?

You cannot use a USB on Mac 2011 Installer. Please burn the ISO on a physical DVD Windows (a DVD - R Carbon SL on the rate of burning slower is better) and use it to install Windows. The file Info.plist changes only allowing the creation of USB, but does not fully support a USB Installation.

  • Cannot connect to Windows 7 PC via Wi Fi

    I have a Stor.E TV + 2 TB I've tried everything but can't connect to PC Windows 7.
However, it will connect to a Windows XP OK computer.
    Someone at - it solution

I found that connecting to Windows 7 with WiFi or other is a business blindly. The reason is not clear, but probably because the Toshiba is not properly designed to be discovered by Windows 7. Even computers Windows XP need some software utilities installed to be discovered by Win 7. Often the Toshiba appears at the bottom of the page of the network as a disc that is present but cannot be discovered. Sometimes it will appear under network locations if you pass the Toshiba and the new to reset the IP address. In addition to the usual file sharing settings, the drive must be mapped under 'computer '. Very often when the player does not appear under the 'Network' locations, double click the disc 'Computer' open records even if it does not appear in the sites 'network '. Don't ask me why. I worked around this and other issues such as the inability to copy large files, without interface specified Samba, etc, etc.. I installed the updated software, but other issues have slipped now that I've never had before like files FLAC freeze the player and does not properly (noise spikes). In truth, unfortunately, is a * finish without any support, and should not be on the market. I can't even sell it because it wouldn't be ethical it land on a poor unsuspecting, but hours of frustration to work around these problems, just to be able to use it, is counterproductive. I'll be more careful next time in choosing a provider.
