Connection PS3 (DNS error)

I cannot connect my ps3 to my Wireless Linksys WRT160N router. The router does not have a version type, so I guess it's version 1.0?

Whenever I try to connect my ps3 I get a DNS error (80710102) of the playstation. I tried to use the automatic settings and manual settings. My laptop connects fine, but my PS3 doesn't even bother. During the settings auto, he will not even get an IP address, but when I entered this manually, it worked. However, I had no luck with typing manually DNS settings. It fails every time. Help, please!

Thank you

James

First of all every time that you assign a static Ip address to your PS2, the IP address must be different from your computer, if you enter the same IP address, and then due to IP address conflict, it will make your Deivce work offline.

Check the settings of your router wireless? It can be due to a higher level of security on your router. Connect to the router configuration page and click on the Wireless tab, and then click the sub-tab under wireless "Wireless Security" and below, change the Security Mode 'WPA discover' and under 'Passpharase' enter your password and click on save settings... "

Now on your PS3, first remove the static IP address and then look for the wireless network and then trying to connect to it. Once connected to the wireless network your PS3 should be able to go online.

Can't seem to find much info about it online. Anyone know where to start with this error?

Yes, well, if anyone has this problem, I fixed by setting deviceside = false.

    Hello

Thanks for joining us out on Microsoft Community Forums.

From your post, it seems you found DNS error when you access a few sites.

    Quick questions:

    1. What did you solve the problem?
    2. What is the exact error message?

We will try these steps and check:

    Method 1:

Clear the DNS cache forces DNS to query a DNS server rather than using the information stored in the cache.

You can clear the DNS cache that you receive repeated errors when you know that you type an address is correct.

Try these steps and check for the issue:

    a. click the Start button.

    (b) in the search box, type command prompt.

    c. in the list of results, right-click guestand then click run as administrator. If you are prompted for an administrator password or a confirmation, type the password or provide confirmation.

    d. at the command prompt, type ipconfig/flushdns.

    Reference:

    http://Windows.Microsoft.com/en-us/Windows7/DNS-domain-name-system-frequently-asked-questions

    Method 2:

Perform the steps mentioned below and check if the problem persists.

    a. click on start and then Control Panel.

    b. go to the networking and sharing Center and then click on change adapter settings.

    c. right-click on connection to the Local network and select Properties.

    d. Select Internet Protocol Version 6, and then click Properties.

    e. Select obtain DNS server automatically an address and press Ok.

    f. Select obtain IP address automatically.

    g. Repeat steps for Internet Protocol version 4 as well.

Post us the result of the suggested steps.

If you need help about Windows, let know us and we will be happy to help you.

  • Windows 7 dns error

I have a laptop that worked last Wednesday, 15/08/12 which will not have access to the internet.   It will connect to our home network and a Clearwire usb device I have but nor will provide internet access.  I have other laptops working find.  I emptied the dns, bought a new router, run netsh commands and tried a host of other tricks, including hardcode the Google DNS and Open DNS.

The computer show it has been updated 19/08/12, which is the only thing that has changed.  This has been done with the automatic updates.  It is running Home Premium Service Pack 1 64-bit 7.

I'm running out of ideas, any help would be appreciated.

Update of Windows KB2705219 could be the cause and uninstall that solved the problem for some users.

To uninstall an update - control panel, programs & features, [left side of the window] see installed updates. Wait until the system has finished the research for the list of updates. Select update required, then right click and Uninstall.

    But...

    See this notice - McAfee

Some customers may experience a loss of network connectivity and/or errors in McAfee Security Center after a recent update

You should make the fix McAfee, if necessary.

I have McAfee, but the connection has started working again on its own so I thought I was clear of problems. However, when I checked it says he was doing routine checks the updates in vain when I told it to do a manually. So stick with McAfee without following their abduction - Reinstall procedure would have upgraded my PC at risk by not updated. Actually, I removed and then installed Microsoft Security Essentials rather & my answer IE is faster I knew it [even though I had the Add-ons McAfee disabled for centuries].

I had to run the MCPRT deletion a few times before and it caused a problem with the license if the PC was not connected to the internet during the abduction. Due cat of McAfee support reset their files in order to allow the relocation-reactivation. Here is their link cat - McAfee - media contains the link to the cat

  • Why am I messages DNS error since upgrading to El Capitan?

Since I upgraded my OS to El Capitan I was making (Yahoo Search page) DNS error pages when I use an Internet link to leave my email to another site. Its pretty boring and I have to use Safari where it happens. I like FireFox, but if I can't solve this problem I will be forced to stop using it. Help, please. Thank you, Michael.

You might have installed something more. On Mac, this problem is associated with some extensions Spigot, especially one named Searchme.

Open the page modules using either:

    • CMD + SHIFT + a
    • "3-bar" menu button (or tools) > Add-ons

In the left column, click Extensions. Then on the side right, remove or disable Searchme - and anything else that you don't need, like all the other Spigot/MyBrowserBar extensions. Keep in mind that all extensions are optional and none is included with Firefox when you get it first.

Often, a link will appear above at least an extension disabled to restart Firefox. You can complete your work on the tab and click one of the links in the last step.

Is that what helps you regain control?

This could be the tip of an iceberg of malware. When you install free software, you often get the options grouped under silence. I don't know the best way to 'clean up' a Mac of these elements, but you may want to consider the issue.

Hi boriszcat, the details of your Question > System Details more shows that you are infected with the extension of Searchme.

  • This connection is an error code: sec_error_unknown_issuer

Its the this connection is untrusted error, I have recently installed windows 10 but my account is not connected to others and I can not connect to google.com when the firewall is down and disabled. However, I can connect to google.cm I tried to delete the cert.db so that secmod, didn't work uninstalled several times and already have a discount. Also, I can't get into yahoo or most of the other sites like yahoo .com. Also, I can't ping my laptop my modem when I have my windows firewall but with it pings down cross. Honestly, I have no idea what is going on and I can access the same places when I access this computer which also uses firefox and win10.

Hi ruki114, sorry that it did not work - it wasn't a link of tradtional but should open a certificate installation window in your browser. Alternatively you could have tried the manual procedure described in https://support.microsoft.com/en-us/kb/2965142 in the section about firefox.

If you don't want to use this feature of family ms anyway, please doublecheck that you disabled it for your account: http://windows.microsoft.com/en-us/windows-10/turn-off-microsoft-family-settings

If this does not work, could you tell us what software antivirus you are using?

  • Why isn't the exception, I add when I get this connection is untrusted error work?

I recently started getting "this connection is Untrusted' errors every time I connect to google." Although there is a response describing the problem, I have the solution DOES NOT WORK. Not at all. I added google as an exception, many times, but I still get the same error. Since it doesn't seem to be what I can do in the settings options to confirm that I have indeed added it completely, I want to know why I still keep getting this message despite having already added the site to my exceptions?

Since you are using Kaspersky, could test you with the disabled HTTPS connection filtering if Kaspersky is the culprit? This should be in the application Kaspersky itself, not in the Firefox Add-ons:

    Settings > others > network

Uncheck the box for "numerical analysis of connections.
