Connection to Oracle 11g with MySQL 5.1
Hey all,.
I have searched all over the web for this, and I can't find information that applies to my case. I have an Oracle 11 g DB on a Windows Server 2003 SP2 installer and installing the heterogeneous services ODBC driver. I want to connect it to a different Windows 2003 SP2 machine running MySQL Community.
On the side of the Oracle, I set up the systems to MySQL ODBC connection, and it connects successfully. I also configured tnsnames.ora as follows:
mysqlecommerce =
(DESCRIPTION =
(ADDRESS =
(PROTOCOL = TCP)
(HOST = dvlps11.cosine.com.cy)
(PORT = 1521)
)
(CONNECT_DATA =
(SID = mysql_gateway))
(HS=OK))
I have initmysql_gateway.ora with the following two lines:
HS_FDS_CONNECT_INFO = mysqlecommerce
HS_FDS_TRACE_LEVEL = ODBC
and I get the following in the listener.ora file:
SID_LIST_LISTENER =
(SID_LIST =
(SID_DESC =
(SID_NAME = mysql_gateway)
(ORACLE_HOME=C:\Oracle11g\product\11.1.0\db_1)
(PROGRAM = dg4odbc)
)
)
I also created a dblink as follows:
create the 'MYSQLECOMMERCE' of the public database link
connect to MYSQLDB
identified by '< pwd >.
using 'mysqlecommerce ';
Now when I try to run a simple SQL selection such as:
Select 'id_category' ps_category"@mysqlecommerce «»
I get the following response:
ORA-28500: connection between ORACLE and a non-Oracle system has sent this message:
[MySQL] [ODBC 5.1 Driver] [mysqld - 5.1.36 - community-log] you have an error in your syntax SQL; consult the manual for your version of the MySQL server for the right syntax to use near '' id_category' FROM 'ps_category' A1' at line 1
ORA-02063: preceding 2 lines of DG4ODBC
Can someone please help me understand what is happening?
Thank you in advance!The syntax error is caused by your database MySQL does not not in ANSI mode. By default, DG4ODBC sends a code compliant ansi in the foreign database, which means for column sensitive to case and table names it surrounded by double-quotes. MySQL DB not working not in mode compatible ANSI rejects them and uses a back tick to preserve the case - so it reports a syntax error in the case of double qoutes.
To solve the problem please have a look to My Oracle Support note:

application forms client side connection problem-oracle 11g Server
I installed the application oracle 11 g 2 on windows 2008r2 server. Installation of Weblogic. All installations were successful. But when the URL for forms running it prompts for the name of user and password and identification of database information. The application seems to be frozen and we have to refresh and again in the authentication credentials several times to get the application connected to... Please give me a solution for this.

Tried the solutions are (but failed to solve the problem)
1. change the browser and the version of the browser.
2. change the java version.
3. in the paper of the forms it says error fatal client-side...

Hello, I am writing to inform you all to say that I found the solution. In any case, I saw there were some messages saying to change the version of Java on the client side I made, but did not work. But the solution I've found is as explained below.
There are some parameters in the Java on your computer to be modified in order to use it.
- Go to the control panel.
- Select Java.
- After the control panel opening Java go to move the tag.
- Disable the Java plug-in to uncheck 'enable the plugin from new generation... '. ' as shown below
- Apply the changes and restart the browser.
- URL will work.
- Recommended for this IE browser

Hello
I set up a new server with Windows 8r2. Install Oracle 11 g 64 bit.
Mounted 10 32-bit Desktop windows forms [32-bit] Version 6.0.8.11.3 (Production).
I am able to connect to Oracle 9i. but I want to connect to Oracle 11g
Are there measures where I can solve my problem.
already had made the following changes to the server
C:\ > sqlplus/nolog
SQL > connect / as sysdba
Conectado.
SQL > shutdown immediate
SQL > startup restrict
SQL > alter database character set internal_use UTF8;
SQL > shutdown immediate
SQL > startup
Under sqlnet.ora I changed
NAMES. DIRECTORY_PATH = (TNSNAMES, EZCONNECT)
SQLNET. ALLOWED_LOGON_VERSION_SERVER = 8
SQLNET. ALLOWED_LOGON_VERSION_SERVER = 8
SQLNET. ALLOWED_LOGON_VERSION_CLIENT = 8
I'm still not able to connect.
Sandy
1. what error message do you receive forms 6i when you can not connect
2. what level of Forms 6i patch do you have? A more recent patch level may be required.

Oracle Discoverer 4i (Portal db - oracle 8i) connectivity with database 11g problem
Hi all
We have oracle discoverer 4i with Portal db (oracle 8i).
Connect to external databases by using links in the portal db db and reports will use the link db to retrieve data from views in external databases.
External databases, we have been connecting is oracle 10g version and now we have improved these databases to version 11g.
Now I have a created a new database link to this 11g database and I have created a new EUL in the portal to connect to this database 11g.
But when I try to create a report using the discoverer of this new EUL after login for the discoverer we get an "Unable to connect to the database" error.
We all have the privilege of necesscary to the user and the new database link works perfectly well. (when we try to query directly using SQL as database portal using this db link the query works perfectly).
I'm not sure if it is a compatibility issue in accessing an 11g database since oracle disk 4i.
Can any advise if this is the case and if there is no work around for this?
Kind regards
REDA
You say that you are having problems with a link of database from 8i to 11 g (pl exact position of 4-digit versions)? If so, expect as database of links between these two versions are not supported. Is there a reason you can't pass the portal of databases of at least 10 g 2?

Please advice what could be the problem.
Thank you.Your Lstener knows nothing about services. You must configure the dynamic record of service in your database, for example
ALTER system set local_listener = "(DESCRIPTION = (ADDRESS =(PROTOCOL=TCP) (HOST = CBR-SRV-HPORA. CIBER-INDIA. IN) (PORT = 1522))) ';
(for permanent fixing forget pfile or spfile)
After the database records the address und thie services you will see the service when you ask "srvctl services oracle11g_listener.

Oracle 11g remote connection problem
When I try to connect to the Oracle database using SQLPlus or SQLDeveloper remotely I get the following error.
ORA-01017: INVALID USERNAME/PASSWORD; logon denied.
Server details:
Oracle 11g on Linux Enterprise 4
I can connect to the server using SQLPlus.
SQLCASE SHOW is MIXED
Customer details:
Windows Server 2003 enterprise Edition
Oracle 11g Client.
Remote computer my TNSPING to this server works perfectly.
For the same connection string, I can't connect to the client. I don't know that I type wrong password.
Any thoughts on this will be helpful.
Thank you
SmithIf it's a sys user you will need to set the password file to connect to the database as sysdba user remotely. and we do not need to check if the privilege to connect is given to the sys user or not. adding to this remote_login_password check = EXCLUSIVE lock

You can try this (I don't yet have a 11.2)?SELECT xmlelement("topElement", xmlforest( ( select xmlagg( xmlelement("object", xmlattributes(object_id as "objectId", object_type as "object_type") ) ) from all_objects where object_name = 'XDUAL' ) as "objects" ) ).getStringVal() xml FROM dual;
It should give a correct output with any version.
