Consistency of disk for the startup error message

When my G580 is booted up an error message produced by saying that my drive should be checked for consistency. However, when it will check disk this does not happen, instead it says to go to the system restore. When I go to the system restore, it is disabled. I have run the check disk from Lenovo and it appears clear. What can I do to remove this message?

What can I do about it.  I have windows XP, I got this HP pavilion 555e computer 6 years.  I'm still working, but I don't like the error messages.  Please let me know also where I can learn more about the errors of registry and files.

try to click on start > run > msconfig

then under the Startup tab, you will find entries that refer to the programs that are set to start automatically when windows starts.

You can probably find one of the references corresponding to this faulty .exe and you can turn it off.

by disabling, attempt to launch the inoculated program will stop and the error warning should also.

  • Solution for the startup error on siymnctm.dll

Under Windows XP, Service Pack 3, startup error: error loading C:\WINDOWS\System32\siymnctm.dll.  Any ideas how to fix?  BTW, Microsoft Knowledge Base was unavailable for research today.

    Thanks for any help.

A Google search for "siymnctm.dll" grew nothing. When you get no hits for a filename on Google, chances are high that it is a malicious program file. Either you have uninstalled the malware program or your antivirus/antispyware program did. In all cases, a reference has been left in the boot file. You can remove the reference by managing your startup.

Because you had a piece of malware, the chances are too high you had others. It would be a good idea to scan. I recommend to download and install MalwareBytes' anti-malware (MBAM) from http://www.malwarebytes.org . The program is free. (There is a paid version, but you don't need to buy it to remove the malware).

    Manage startup:

(for XP) Start > run > msconfig [Enter]

This will open the System Configuration utility. Look under the Startup tab and find the likely culprit. Uncheck the box next to its name, apply and OK out. You don't need to restart immediately, but next time you do, you will get a dialog box saying that you have used the utility. Just check the box that says in effect, "don't mind to this subject again".

  • 'incorrect type for the socket' error message during the installation of flash player.

MacBook Pro (15-inch) with El Capitan 10.11.5, Safari 9.1.1 OSX Version.

Message received from new flash update. Conducts system preferences to download. Download went to the file downloads. Close all windows including the browser. Opened, dmg began to download. Error message as follows "Type incorrect Protocol for socket AdobeFlashPlayer_21_a".

DMG trashed, uninstalled Flash Player, downloaded from the Adobe site, same message. Started in safe mode. Shut down, started normally, always impossible to download Flash Player. Now, I don't have any Flash Player and cannot download any version.

Help would be appreciated, thank you very much. Pat

It is possible the error of mounting the DMG is related to the 10.11.5 update.  Please see cannot load DMG files after installing 10.11.5 | Apple Support communities.  A number of people get the same error, with various software, when mounting the DMG if none of the suggestions in that work of forum for you, contact Apple support for assistance.

As an alternative, you can also try using the installer in offline mode, posted at the bottom of the problems Installation | Flash Player | Mac page, in the section "Problems", but I suspect exhibit you the same behavior.

Hi, thanks.  I use internet explore.   I downloaded firefox to see if another browser might change things, but he did not.  until I received this answer, I found a site that has detected that I had an old version of java that can interfere with the new version then I uninstalled the old version and restarted my browser and now the video on the site seems to work!  If he gives me again, I'll try your suggestions. It's probably a good idea to optimize internet Explorer anyway.

  • Startup error message: "Microsoft Mobile PC presentation adaptability Client has stopped working".

I recently tried to install SP2 to Vista, but it failed. I tried all the resolutions posted, but it is not always correct it. Later, I started my Vista (automatically restored to SP1) and it came with a mistake, "Microsoft Mobile PC presentation adaptability Client has stopped working". I tried searching on the net for similar problems, but I could not find any solution. He comes back every time you start, after that the background, shortcuts and the system tray loaded. This error started showing when I tried to install SP2, but he failed and returned to changes. I think that something could have gone wrong and that's why it shows this message.   Today I tried the system restore to the restore point JUST before I tried to install SP2, but it ALSO failed and brought me back to the State.
I'm not sure if it's related, but I'm also no longer be able to use Windows Media Center, as every time I start it I immediately receive the error message "Media Center has stopped working".

    Hi zensurferboi,

First, we will check if we get error safe mode, start the computer in Safe Mode reboot and press the F8 key for about four to five times. You'll see the Mode without failure listed in the advanced window options, select Safe Mode, and then press ENTER.

Check if the error mode without failure.

If the startup error message does not appear safe mode, I recommend you to place the computer in a clean boot state, and check if the problem occurs in a clean boot state.

To put the computer in a clean boot state, follow these steps:

    Perform a clean boot

Note If the computer is connected to a network, network policy settings may prevent you from following these steps. We recommend strongly that you do not use System Configuration utility to change startup options on the computer, unless a support engineer Microsoft directs you to do so. This can make the computer unusable.

    a. log in the computer using an account with administrator rights.

    b. click Start , type msconfig.exe in the Start Search box and press ENTER to start the System Configuration utility.
If you are prompted for an administrator password or for confirmation, type your password, or click continue.

    c. under the general tab, click Selective startup, and then clear the Load Startup items check box.
(The box use the Boot file is not available.)

    d. on the Services tab, select the hide all Microsoft services check box and then click on disable all.

Note Following this step lets services Microsoft continue to run. These services include networking, Plug-and-Play, record of events, error reporting, and other services. If you disable these services, you can permanently delete all restore points. Do not do this if you want to use to restore the system with the existing restore points.

    e. click OK, and then click restart.

Once the computer restarts, check if you get the error of starting.

Reset the computer to start as usual

When you are finished troubleshooting, follow these steps to reset the computer to start as usual:

    1. Click Start , type msconfig.exe in the Start Search box and press ENTER.
    2. If you are prompted for an administrator password or for confirmation, type your password, or click continue.
    3. On the general tab, click the Normal startup option, and then click OK.
    4. When you are prompted to restart the computer, click restart.

If you don't receive the start-up error message after placing the computer in a clean boot state, follow the steps below in the link to diagnose the program or service that is causing the problem:

    Thank you!

Well, I'm quite sure that committed Microsoft Support Engineer 'expert' is just send you on another of their many wild goose hunting.

Surely, Imran M will come up with some other ideas - it's their job and they are the ones that Microsoft hired as their "experts".

Tell us exactly the message that see you in its entirety, follow this:

No matter what you use for malware protection, follow these steps:

Download, install, update and do a quick scan with these free malware detection programs (not at the same time) and remove all threats:

    Malwarebytes (MMFA): http://www.malwarebytes.org/products/malwarebytes_free
    SUPERAntiSpyware: (SAS): http://www.superantispyware.com/

SAS will probably report a lot of tracking cookies and you can just let him delete them.

Then stand out my answer as the 'response' (which you do) for other people will see the topic is not resolved and you offer other ideas.

6.2.16: when you try to update ITunes on my Windows laptop, I get the following error message: "there is a problem with this Windows Installer package.  A program required for this teaching to complete could not be run.  Contact your supplier of staff or the package of support ".  There is no associated error code.  I've never had a previous issue with ITunes updates.  Thank you, Debbie

Repair Apple Software Update since the programs & features Panel configuration and then try again.

For general advice, see troubleshooting problems with iTunes for Windows updates.

The steps described in the second case are a guide to remove everything related to iTunes and then rebuild what is often a good starting point, unless the symptoms indicate a more specific approach.

Review the other boxes and other support documents list to the bottom of the page, in case one of them applies.

The more information box has direct links with the current and recent if you have problems to download, must revert to an older version or want to try the version of iTunes for Windows (64-bit - for older video cards) as a workaround for problems with installation or operation, or compatibility with third-party software.

Backups of your library and device should be affected by these measures but there are links to backup and recovery advice there.
