[Consolidation locked] Windows 8 and Lightroom 4.2 tethered shooting
Hello
I'm used to shoot attached with my Canon 5 d MarkII in Lightroom 4.2 under Windows 7. I have recently installed Windows 8, but now Lightroom can not detect my Canon 5 d Mark II more. The problem is that Lightroom is using an older version of Framenetwork (3.5) and in the Windows version 8 (4.5) is built. It is possible to download and install this version (3.5) in Windows 8, but lightroom still cannot detect my camera. Does anyone have the same issue or better an answer for this problem? Thanks in advance!

Atul, I thank you for your response. I had read a lot of comments referred to as before posting my query. Not too encouraging - used LR 2/3/4 with operating system previous Windows without problem. Will sit on the fence a little longer on this one.

QuickTime, Windows 10 and Lightroom
Lightroom will not work without QuickTime, even on Windows.
Now, DHS told to uninstall QuickTime for Windows: apparently, it's a giant gaping security hole.
Apple has announced that they will not support nor QuickTime for Windows.
What Adobe plans to do about it?
Please continue this discussion about this in the official feedback forum Adobe: Lightroom : Quicktime for Windows to be eliminated - is no longer supported by Apple. Photoshop customer family community developers of Adobe products are actively involved in this forum (compared to the species), and news it appears first. Add your opinion and vote for this topic will ensure you are notified immediately. Adobe probably won't see your comments here.
This topic contains links to a State general Adobe has done about it.

original title: the customer service is horrible
After I downloaded beta Security Essentials, my computer say suddenly that he was not a genuine copy of Windows running and locked up.
I called last night and got a foreign person has attempted to resolve the issues and could not, so he told me that I had to call back after 06:00 to speak to someone in the United States. So I called back today at 06:00 and got one of those who are running around things voice control that didn't fix my problem at all. After much effort, I got a live person. Again, it was a foreign person (why make me wait all night and get up early to call?!?!)This woman told me to restart. I told her that I had rebooted about 10 times since the day before and each time he took forever to load back up the box that tells me that I need to activate windows. She has reiterated, "I ask you to restart." I knew he wouldn't do ANYTHING, but I did and after the session it forever (as I told him it would be) she told me that I had to remind once I got up the box again. I called after that I got the box AND HAD TO START OVER again ONCE with someone new. Of course, she was trying to pass me to someone else.Of course, after all this trouble, no MS sells a product key for Vista, it is abandoned. So I need to go buy Windows 7 and she told me that I'll LOSE EVERYTHING when I install it - all my documents and family photos are gone forever. Why not take my money and sell me a product key instead of let me in trouble? The worst ever undertaken. Of course, MS doesn't care because they have a monopoly. You should not need to buy anything except the recovery disc for your machine (if the built-in recovery partition does not work), unless you really need Win 7 for some reason any.
That being said - the COA sticker on your machine is readable? If Yes, then you should have no problem with a Windows 7 upgrade version - but you will need to either use activation by phone, or installation methods described here...

I use Lightroom 6.6 (non - CC version) and for months, I have noticed the degradation in performance on my machine Windows 10 the more Lightroom runs. LR restarts solves the problem for a while, but anywhere from minutes to an hour, Lightroom performance down to the level where it becomes unusable.
Finally, I think I found a reproducible indicator in the Task Manager which may lead to the reason for this - it seems to be linked to the process "System and compressed memory" which is new for Windows 10. Maybe it's a coincidence, it could be the correlation instead of causation - but that's what I want to know.
When I start Lightroom and edit some pictures, everything seems normal in the Task Manager:
Lightroom uses about 6 GB of memory, which is OK, as I 24GO of RAM in my machine. The mentioned system and compressed memory process currently maintains that a low profile with the use of memory 204 MB and Lightroom performs well at this point.
Some pictures later, however, things start to get worse:
The system and compressed memory process increases its memory footprint and Lightroom memory footprint decreases. At this point, I think Lightroom is already slower - but this could be just imagination. It isn't so bad so I can be sure that it really is.
But a few minutes and retouching of photos later, system and compressed memory past Lightroom in the memory usage and which are how things always become really bad:
System and compressed memory draws a memory more and more away from Lightroom, and meanwhile, Lightrooms performance is killed. As I understand the system and memory tablet, it's intent is to compress the memory instead of disk paging-, but it seems he has high performance here and there of the implications would not even be necessary to page or compress memory because there were a lot:
Perhaps a Windows problem, may be a Lightroom problem - chances are, it's a combination of the two. With 24 GB RAM and Lightroom be gourmet applications in memory just running, this should not occur or cause problems. I use other applications in memory such as Visual Studio, or sometimes first - this does not occur when you use this application.
I can't believe I'm the only one knows than that on Windows 10 - yet I have not found much about it online, just a few remarks on this subject in some support threads here and there, but no solution.
So-, here is my question d ' others have experienced this too? Someone was able to get this under control? It's really frustrating relaunch Lightroom every 30 to 60 minutes to get a good performance.
Thanks for the tips
b.
There is a leak memory known in Lightroom 6.6. You might want to try to go back to Lightroom 6.5.1 and see if the problem goes away. See How do I restore a previous version of Lightroom? The Lightroom Queen and where it says Lightroom 6.1.1 you insert Lightroom 6.5.1

Hello! I have a 32-bit version of Windows 7 and I subscribed plan creative mgoe (CC 2015 Photoshop and Lightroom). Unfortunately when I try to use photoshop there is a ram (out of memory) error. I have a 8 giga of ram, and I have already raised the photoshop preference range.
It seems that the installation of a 32-bit version of Windows is your mistake. This limits each app to not more than 2-3 gigabytes, no matter how much RAM you install.

How can I download and install a second copy of Photoshop and Lightroom on a Windows computer after you initially install on my Mac? I just want a Mac version and a version of Windows on both computers.
Cloud license allows 2 activations http://www.adobe.com/legal/licenses-terms.html
-Install on a 2nd computer http://forums.adobe.com/thread/1452292?tstart=0
-https://helpx.adobe.com/creative-cloud/help/sign-in-out-activate-apps.html
-Windows or Mac has no importance... 2 on the same operating system or 1 on each
-Two activations on one account CAN NOT be used at the same time (to be noted in the link above of the license)

Hello. Can I reinstall CS2 with its upgrade CS5 and Lightroom 3 on my new computer in Windows 10?
You need not install CS2 if your real intention is to install CS5. You should be able to simply provide the serial number for CS2 as the eligible product when you activate CS5.

Oops... .the everything in the title... My apologies!
Tips for Lightroom 6 help indicates again that if "using a graphics card AMD/ATI under Windows 64-bit with the AMD Catalyst driver 15.7 and Lightroom CC/Lightroom 6 hangs or crashes during launch or when you edit an image in the develop module.» This problem may occur when you use AMD Radeon HD 5xxx card graphics series 8xxx running versions of pilot 14.501.1003, 14.502.1014 and 15.200.1062.1004. For the Solution of the page install the AMD Catalyst 15.8 Beta Driver for Windows (posted August 31, 2015). However, there are now a 16.1 driver... would this work with Lightroom 6buttons Photpshop CC without problem or should I stay with 15.8 beta for Windows driver (Windows 8.1.
Thank you very much
Paul Winstone
Hi Paul,.
This article was created when users have faced problem with old drivers for AMD graphics card.
Yes, you can upgrade to the last 16.1 pilots and who should work well however, you should have 1 GB VRAM or more to take advantage of the GPU processors.
Kind regards
Claes

I have Photoshop CS6 and Lightroom 5.7. They are currently installed on a PC with Windows 8.1 Professional 32-bit and 4 GB of RAM. I want to move to a PC with Windows 8.1 Professional 64 bit and 32 GB of memory, because I have a problem with the large RAW from a Canon 5 Ds R. What should I do?
You install exactly in the same way you did the 1st time... Put your disc in the drive, and enter your serial number when asked
Download & install instructions https://forums.adobe.com/thread/2003339 can help
-includes a link to access a page to download the Adobe programs if you do not have a disk or drive
