    Hi wooly62,

What is the error message when you try to videos?

Windows Media Player 12 is integrated in Windows 7 and is not available for download.

You would usually experience problems with streaming Internet videos if Windows Media Player is configured to use "UDP". You can try the following steps and check the status of the issue.

    (a) open Windows Media Player 11 and right click on the toolbar at the top of the window.

(b), select 'Tools' and 'Options '.

    (c) click on the 'Network' tab, clear the check box next to "RTSP/UDP. Ensure that there is a check mark next to "RTSP/TCP" and "HTTP" and click "OK".

This should allow Windows Media Player 11 to stream video.

Hope the helps of information. Let us know the status of the issue.

  • update the suspicious requests updated media player?

for the last few days everytime I open windows media center I find another window opens upward behind, asking me to "update my Media Player" or "Download HD... Click here to continue "but those aren't sources of windows, which make me suspect me." Am I wrong?

    Hello Dana,.

I think you're 100% right, even if its not more than one approach "cannot be too careful...". ", that's a healthy attitude to have.

Besides that do not download from unknown sources being a red flag - Microsoft only will do things through anyway "official" channels - the other red flag is how to manage a unknown window open without any overt act by you. You have a firewall up? Is it strong enough? Any source, but above all an unknown, must automatically be blocked by a firewall unless you have expressly authorized to open.

By this I want to say, some act manifests as open a browser window, clicking on a link to download or from a download manager, sending an e-mail, something that a firewall has been formed has a message "It's OK" attached to it. If not, its an automatic block.

If you do not have this type of protection, I highly recommend you get this protection. I use and recommend the application freeware PrivateFirewall, download it here: http://www.softpedia.com/get/Security/Firewall/Privatefirewall.shtml .

Let me know if this helps you.

    Kind regards

  • A Blue Ray disc with a digital copy of the film sends me to a page to update Media Player security, but the button updated it does not work

I bought a 3-disc Blu - ray Star Trek film set.  The 3rd disc is a DVD-ROM with a digital copy of the film, for transfer to a PC.  When I try the transfer, there is a message saying update Windows Media Player to my system with the functions of security necessary to play protected content.  Then a link in the transfer of Star Trek dialog box sends me to http://drmlicense.one.microsoft.com/Indivsite/en/indivit.asp where there is a button to upgrade.  But it is faded, as when a disabled function is grayed out...  If clicked, the button will not activate.  What should do?

I ran Windows Update and updates was not available in Media Player.  I have Windows 7 Starter on a netbook Gateway

1/2 hour later, well, what do you know?  After many attempts and refresh in Internet Explorer, the upgrade button finally loaded and worked.  Problem solved.  Transferred film and plays very well.

  • Impossible to update Media Player list library

Use a vinyl to digital converter for several years now. Read the album, enter the name of the artist and album to get the files in the desired files, type 1 or 2 garbage character for the title of the track, and then use Media Player to find info on the album. This process worked until dawn Saturday, October 20, 2012. Nothing, that I converted from shows and then up in Media Player. There are the titles that I deleted from my hard drive that always appear in the list of Media Player and I can't delete them. There are other tracks, that I can't change. This morning, I followed the process described above, and I saw the album in Media Player with the titles of the correct tracks, artist, composer, etc. after going through the process to find Album Info. I went back later and it's gone. Click all music, path and extra date added column, and the more recent things shown are starting on Saturday morning. Thought that maybe some automatic updates screwed things up. There were a few updates on the 19th and we the 21, but nothing is 20. Read the messages in the forum similar questions, but they were 2 to 3 years old and I didn't try the solutions that may not be valid/no things worse work/screws. Any help out there?

    Hi GregCowling,

Thanks for posting in the Microsoft Community.

I understand it's frustrating, but no need to worry I'll be more than happy to help you.

1 were there any hardware or software changes made on the computer before this problem?
    2. do you get an error message? If Yes, what is the exact full error message?

Follow the steps and check if that helps.

    Method 1
Run the troubleshooter in Windows Media Player settings and check if that makes a difference
Open the troubleshooting Windows Media Player settings Troubleshooter
    http://Windows.Microsoft.com/en-us/Windows7/open-the-Windows-Media-Player-settings-Troubleshooter
Also, click on the link and run the fixit tool.
    http://support.Microsoft.com/mats/windows_media_player_diagnostic

    Method 2
Try to run in a boot minimum state see if that fix it. If so, allow some programs to try to determine what software is causing the problem.
To help resolve the error and other messages, you can start Windows 7 by using a minimal set of drivers and startup programs. This type of boot is known as a "clean boot". A clean boot helps eliminate software conflicts.
    Click on the link:
    http://support.Microsoft.com/kb/929135
Note: Follow step 7 to reset the computer to start as usual after the boot process.

    (d) develop the features of media; Uncheck Windows Media Player.

    (b) click on programs and features.

  • Impossible to update of Windows Media Player and Microsoft Security Essentials and the error is "access denied error 80070005."

Apparently an involuntary change of administrative privileges or permissions (Windows XP Pro, SP3) keeps me updated Media Player version 9 to 11 v. and updated virus Security Essentials definitions.
For Media Player, wmsetup.log reports access denied error 80070005 and UpdSpAPI.log reports access denied for the HKLM\SOFTWARE\Microsoft\MediaPlayer\Settings\MP3Encoding\LowRate registry key. In regedt32, I'm blocked from display HKLM\...\MediaPlayer\Settings and below, and "are allowed to view the current permission settings, but... can make a change." Except that I can't. I can enter the change but get «...» Access is denied"trying to apply them. So this is the first problem that I need help.
But of course it's more than a registry key and the subkeys, because MSE too is affected and will download but not install virus definitions. WindowsUpdate.log reports: failed to install with error 80070643.
My user account (it's the only one!) is part of the Administrators group and all that I tried to verify administrative permissions is positive. This is a new issue. No virus/malware, according to MSE, Lavasoft Ad-Aware, MalWarebytes Anti-Malware.

  • disable automatic selection of media player

I don't want the auto playlist in Win 7 Media Player.  How can I disable the unwanted constantly updated? I read how to create and edit and save, but not how to disable.  Thanking you in advance!

I don't want the auto playlist in Win 7 Media Player. How can I disable the unwanted constantly updated? I read how to create and edit and save, but not how to disable. Thanking you in advance.
Sorry for not being clear enough. On the tab reader, under options, it says "Customize updates and player settings '. You MUST choose one of the 3. I DON'T WANT automatic updates. I don't want a music player to update anything. I made changes to the titles of mp3 files and updating process apparently ignores "apply media information changes" and returns info orig. that makes me do 'i' of messages when you try to play a playlist I created. So if the selection is long of 20 songs, after the update process it cannot long 8 songs. In addition, this has happened so many times, I tried your assistance. If there is no solution, please advise anyway. I want all the * information provided by internet update.

    (1) you cannot remove the automatic selection feature, you can only add, change, or delete specific autoplaylists.

    (2) this setting search updates media player.  It doesn't affect or change your content (mp3) or playlists.

If you don't want playlists this automatic update, create autoplaylists not... create regular playlists.  They will change only if manually change you them.
  • Media Player 9.0 has stopped playing DVDs

Windows XP Media Player 9 has stopped playing all commercial DVDs with message about multimedia digital protected.

Restore the system back a month when it played DVD and by removing all updates Media Player does not help, same message.

Tips on how to restore playback of DVD?

    Thank you

    aquaries

The WMP for DVD is correct. You need a DVD encoder (software)

This gives you digital rights to read the DVD. ATI video cards has a free, NVIDIA

fees for it, or go online for others...

  • Media player cann't sapport

my computer is turn on aromatic update of those it update media player 11 but it could not work when I open it just open up and say this validity of windows
program, I have but this pack does not release its genius for windows by name but I don't want to use it. I want just the previous windows media player.

    Hello

    1. what update was responsible for the problem to occur?

You can check the installed updates in Add / Remove Programs.

I would recommend you restore your computer to its previous state and install the updates manually and to refrain from installing the update which seems to be causing the problem to occur.

    Hello Russ3220,

Thank you for your message.  Your problem is probably caused by a Codec conflict.  Try to download and install the Codec from the link below.

  • Windows Media Player cannot play the DVD because the disc prohibits playback in your region of the world. You must obtain a disc that is intended for your geographic region.

    Windows media player dvd region

After you apply an update to the media player, I now get the error message

"Windows Media Player cannot play the DVD because the disc prohibits playback in your region of the world. You must obtain a disc that is intended for your geographic region. »

natuarally ive checked the area defined for the reader and even tried to re applying the region

I then noticed its doing the same thing with dvd stored on my media server, and while he would not even play MPEG or avi stored on my hard drive

I went to my comments to logon (standard user) media player works fine

so I'm back and tried to reinstall the mediaplayer to my admin login, it wouldn't let me not delete it, ran Media Player microsoft penalty shooter, he said everything ok

so I changed the guest account on an admin account to try to remove it from there, but as soon as I did this mediaplayer stopped working in the feedback connection that leads me to believe its a sort of level access virus, that has permeated the media player or a defect in this connection required to complete admin update media player
