• Retarget account Contact object?

  One of my retail customer has Contact/customers as principal on which they work or report.
  
  Is it a good idea to reuse the Account for the Contact object since it is the parent for almost all default CRMOD, IE object camapign, occasion etc.? And do not use contact object at all? Is this a good idea?

  VK, I wouldn't recommend retarget the account contact object. This would have an effect on other features of CRM On Demand as EMOD, OEI and merge and merge. Many customers use the contact without the account object object.

• Problem of phone calls

  We receive several calls a day from someone who says they are Microsoft Windows & our computer receives errors that must be corrected. This call comes attest 999-910-0157 & 999-910-0103. Are these calls actually coming from Microsoft Corporation or that they are Spam?  Please let us know that we're going to get inundated with these calls!

  They are spam (actually worse, because they are a type of phishing scam). Microsoft does not contact customers unsolicited.

  This a complete scam and one that has become very common these days. . Don't think anything such a caller said, do nothing that he tells you to do and hang up on him immediately.

  At let them into your computer? If you did you are at serious risk for what they could have done it (installed spyware? Steal the passwords?), and I highly recommend that you do the two following:

  1 reinstall Windows properly

  2. change all your passwords, especially those of the financial institutions and online stores.

  I have Windows Vista HP on my laptop.  Last night, I received a phone call from someone who said he was from Windows & my computer is slow because I had so many unnecessary files.  I was skeptical, but he did as he asked, via start > computer > etc, then typed in 'unwanted Prefetch"as indicated by him who brought up a list of files, which many have been marked! Error.  He kept saying: ' Oh my God ' when I told him this topic, but that Windows could help solve this & not to worry.  Guests were about to happen, so I asked if I could remind him.  Wasn't the answer, but he was going to call again on Monday night.  "Are you in India?", I asked.  "No, Oxfordshire, but I'm of the India.".   I again asked her name/number - he said Sam Hoggard and began to give me the - 5210-01865 - number when my phone battery ran out and cut the call.

  I can't find that any info on this situation from the web, so my question is - is this likely to be a real call?  Windows are proactively calls users?

  Thank you for posting and this bring to our attention.  I can assure you that Microsoft DO NOT contact customers by phone this way.  The engineers of the technical support of Microsoft with customers by phone, only time is if the client contacts the help desk first and asks that we call them.  It looks like the command he had run just listed files but just to be on the safe side I am you provide a link to a post in our security and our Forum of privacy that deals to get rid of spyware or malicious software.  I highly recommend that you read and follow the instructions in the Microsoft MVPs.  The scans are free and I invite you to run all 3 they recommend.  Here is the link to this post:

  Let us know what are the scans.  If they detect viruses or software malware and you need assistance with remove them if please post a reply and let us know.  Make sure that you include the name of the detected virus/malware, error messages Word for word on the screen that you get, and a description of any behaviour of Bazaar that you noted with your computer.

  Keep us informed and, obviously, if this character happens to you call back do not respect its instructions!

  I got a phone call from someone claiming to be from Microsoft - I was very suspicious, but it was not long after that a few errors on my pc today so I me asked if Microsoft never contact customers by telephone on error reports? • Windows 8 and Photoshop Elements 9

  I bought and downloaded Photoshop Elements 9 on my Windows XP computer.  I had to buy a new computer with Windows 8.  I want to download Photoshop.  I'm going through all the steps (including contacting customers FIVE times) and download Akamai download manager (it take 3-4 hours).  Once completed, it disappears and Photoshop does not download.   I've looked everywhere so he thinks, missed me something, but nothing.  Is Akamai compatiable even with 8?  Or, in the alternative, where can I find download Photoshop or... just throw the whole thing out the window.  Thank you.

  This just happened to me today, the person said in English that they were from Microsoft Windows to D.C. and I got the 2 refunds coming, one for 49.99 and one for 300.00. When you press on for more information, that they finally gave up. They wanted me to turn on my computer, so they could process this information. I never contacted Microsoft for anything, ever. Sounds like a scam to me.
