Continuous backup

If I understand the RMAN does not continuous (24/7) save files of data EVALUATION in real time and once a day (for example, 02:00) unload data to external media either on tape or disk and/or it clouding over the internet.

If data files has been corrupted, the data stored in the FRA to restore them. Then if the FRA has been corrupted, external backups can be used to retrieve them. In this case, there will be a gap/gap between the data saved in the FRA and on the external media. This means that even if the system finally gets recovered, some data will still be lost permanently.

Is it possible for the external backup system point to the FRA and save data on a basic continuous (24/7)? This will interfere with the Oracle performance?

Thank you

Scott

If you really want the newspaper archive so you can recover forward since the last backup RMAN.

A few ideas

1. send a copy of the archive in a facility outside the server (could be easier than to try their streaming backup)
2 set I/O different path locally (by telling your database on a San, you could add a local drive and have a second DEST_ID for archive)
3 data Guard (OK, I like Data Guard...)

Does that help?

There are several books of high availability white which can also provide solutions:

How can I delete the history of backups to free up some space and maintained all the data while restore or recover any catering MBP?

Identical to this thread, I just answer.

Just the archives outside the TC, wipe it and start over.

    Hello

If you have any security software installed on the computer it would take more time for the backup center to back up files. Try to disable security software and try to make a backup and verify.

If it works fine afterwards, enable the security software.

Follow the link for more information

    http://Windows.Microsoft.com/en-us/Windows7/disable-antivirus-software

You can also run the disk cleanup utility and check if that helps.

    Start disk cleanup

    http://Windows.Microsoft.com/en-us/Windows7/start-disk-cleanup

Also try to run a check disk to the hard drive.

    To run the disk check

    1. open the computer by clicking the Start button, click computer.

    2. right click on the hard drive you want to check, and then click Properties.

    3. click on the sur l' onglet tab Tools and then, under error-checking, click check now. If you are prompted for an administrator password or a confirmation, type the password or provide confirmation.

To automatically repair problems with files and folders that detects the scanning, select automatically fix file system errors. Otherwise, the disk check will simply report a problem, but not to fix them.

To perform a full disk check, select search for and attempt recovery of bad sectors. This scan is trying to find and repair physical errors on the hard drive itself, and it may take much longer to complete.

To check for errors file and the physical errors, select automatically fix file system errors and search for and attempt recovery of bad sectors.

    4. click on Start.

Depending on the size of your hard disk, this may take several minutes. For best results, do not use your computer for any other tasks while it checks errors.

For more information follow the link

    http://Windows.Microsoft.com/en-us/Windows7/check-a-drive-for-errors

After performing a check disk try to run the backup process and check if this is useful

The backup is supposed to DO NOT backup disc "S" anyway. How can I backup me to stop trying to save a file that no longer exists that where there it resides on a drive that backup was supposed to ignore?

    Hi John,.

Thanks for posting the query on the Microsoft community.

It seems that you are facing problems while performing the backup. It would be great if you can answer the following questions:

1 have had any changes made on the computer before the show?

    2. What is the full and exact error message?

Follow these methods to solve the problem:

    Method 1:

First of all, I suggest you to refer to the article and see if it helps:

Set up or change automatic backup settings

  • Migration of Time Machine to the new drive, backups are larger than the Original drive

I am currently migrating my Time Machine backups from a 2 TB WD My Passport for Mac to a new WD 6 to my book for Mac. I have 63 backups on the old disk, and Finder says that the reader has TB filled 1.96.

However, each individual backup is about 350 GB, which certainly does not. I think normally it was something weird with the Finder listing the wrong sizes, except that when I copy the backups to the new disk, they copy effectively to 350GB a piece. I initially tried to copy everything the ~ 2 TB Backups.backupdb at once, but it was so great, she didn't, then I copy on each both a backup in a folder that I had planned to rename "Backups.backupdb" at the end. At this rate, I will fill new TB cases 6 drive long before copying all backups on.

    How is that possible?

Just to be complete, I'm using a Macbook Pro of the retina 2012, 2.6 GHz Intel Core i7, 16 GB 1600 MHz DDR3 graphics card Intel HD 4000 1536 MB, 512 GB of storage, under OS X 10.11.3.

Time Machine saves the previous backups for the continuous backup size to become more wider until there is no more space on the backup drive. It is quite normal because Time Machine is an archive backup utility.

    Hi Ray,

Welcome to the Microsoft Answers site!

You can check if the backup and restore services are started when you try to make a back up of files.

    1. click on start

    2. in the start search box, type Services

    3. click right on - RUN as ADMINISTRATOR

These are the services that must be running when you try to make a return to the top.

    Automatic started Windows event log
    Task Scheduler started auto
    Backup Windows stopped manual

Security/antivirus/antispyware products also have been known to cause this problem. Try disabling the security software and check if you are able to go back to the top.

    Hope this information is useful.

  • HP Slimline 450 desktop computer - a60n: "prepare windows."

    Hello

I bought the HP Slimline Office 450 - a60n last month.  He has often used to freezing. I downloaded Office 365, then Windows 10 and have a 3 TB Seagate drive and backup HD.  When the PC has frozen it cannot close by the Task Manager and I had to turn the PC off by avoiding the normal shutdown procedure.  I've been ripping of CD and recently it started to freeze in iTunes as well as on Google Chrome.  The PC was fine this morning with a gel, but returned upward again normally.  I went out for a few hours and turned the PC on to find the "prepare windows" message to arrive.  After a few moments the windows screen came, but everything changed.  He was missing a lot and what icons were left returned to the original size.  Office has dissappeared as had my photos and documents. The PC freezes if I try to restore the files.  "Preparation of windows" message every time and some work I did between start-ups is lost.  It's square. Please can someone help me because my computer knowledge is low. Thank you.

    Hi Sargoza,

Thank you for picking me up in it.  I apologize for the delay in answering this is only because I was only using my nephew more in computer science that we could work on it yesterday.  We had the impression to have obtained, by trial and error with only a few minor questions functionally remaining.  If we have the problem once again, we can miss all the - ass-in-bag that we went down.

The only way we could get this to work for him was the creation of an administrator with full administrator access privileges account and then create a new user account for the PC.  To transfer only the most important things through like photos, documents, music, etc. and the items selected in the folder of the Aps.  We believe that the problem was corruption or conflict within the folder of the Aps.  I asked the removal of all the Aps that I am unlikely to use (Wintangent was an I wasn't happy) and he also removed Trusteer? because research, he found that this approach had caused some problems with crashing.  It of early days but no crashes yet.

We noticed that the backup drive Seagate doesn't seem to be back up whenever the PC was the 10 Windows, but don't come back for me since September 15. It is a continuous backup and so we re-set the back-up and if everything goes well on the next day or so I'll be able to see if this is working properly now.

It is difficult to transfer contact in Outlook through addresses, but all my mail is held on the server of my ISP and came home once that Outlook has been reconfigured. I now also use the Onedrive and copied through all the precious objects as that contained in addition to rear up nicely with the help of 'SeaTools' would indicate that the Seagate drive is functioing normally.

So thank you once again for taking the time to help me, I hope situation now resolved.

  • Airport Time Capsule and change provider to wide band

I recently changed my broadband provider and need help with my Airport Time Capsule. I currently have backup via an ethernet cable wireless for Macbook Pro and iMac, Plug and connect every day (although I've never been certain that it's the right or even the simplest method.)

    (1) that I have to back my TC and, if so, should what steps I take?

    (2) should what changes I make on the iMac and Macbook Pro?

    (3) when I bought the TC on the local Apple Store, I was told there was a way in which I could have the TC located in another room of the House, connected wireless constantly and discreetly safeguard to avoid Plug and connect the cable manually each time.  I have sought confirmation of this but could not find any instructions.  Expert advice would be very welcome.

    Thank you very much.

If your router broadband main has changed, it is often necessary to reset the TC factory and redo the installation.

I don't know if your main router has been changed as well as the offshore service provider broadband, but if so, then, reset is necessary. Only if the TC was bridged it can be left to himself... so to speak.

    1. to answer this, I need to understand why your backup is not configured for continuous backup now.

    2. of course, it is difficult to answer this question without knowing 1. but I'm not sure why you are constantly plug and unplug the TC.

How the iMac's internet? It is connected by ethernet to the main ISP router and then you are exchanging autour cables because the TC is not configured in the network?

    Same thing with the MBP...

    3. what said you was not quite correct...

The TC, FAILED to connect on the main wireless router or the modem... it must use ethernet. However, ethernet can run in the next room in the House and can backup from there without problem... more wireless computers.

You can do wireless links by adding a second router wireless to apple... but makes it much more complicated but also less reliable. Wireless links are unreliable enough without adding a second.

The best configuration is the TC directly connected by short cord to the main modem or to the router provided by your ISP. Then tell me the make and model of this device.

If you were hoping for hitting the autonomous TC and connect wireless to the main router which is not going to happen. Apple makes their routers NOT interface with any other wireless brand.

Tell me how the iMac connects to internet and MBP as well.

  • How to recover iPhotos videos?

OK, so I'm moving all my photos and videos about iPhoto...  I selected all the photos and videos in a folder and is an export to a new folder on my desktop... Great so far... all original images are exported, BUT videos are just what seems like placeholders - no content in them. When I try to read them, they are all zero second long!

Seem to be a big problem, but the problem is I have not noticed this until I trashed the originals in iPhoto! So, now that I've lost most of my videos that I had in iPhoto - I managed to save some after noticing this "aberration export" in iPhoto - it seems that I need to drag and drop the vids on the desktop, not use export.

So, I thought no problem, I'll just get the missing vids out of the trash... but alas, they aren't either.  They are not in my continuous backup to TimeMachine useless!

So I ask you, kind readers... is there any way I can recover those videos removed from iPhoto?

Please ignore this message... It seems that all the videos, pictures, were not deleted... just removed from his albums... they will all still there in the photo library.

Yet, a bit disconcerting that the export would not export them!

  • How can I move pictures to time capsule

I use a retina Macbook Pro with 256 KB of flash memory.  I approach a Time Capsule purchased and total storage capacity to increase storage.  How can I move photos of the capsule, or in the cloud?

Do not move a library of photos to the TC... photos is designed to operate from a local disk or iCloud.

Move the library to icloud, you should ask in the photos section.

There is a lot of help documents to find out how.

iCloud Photo library FAQ - Apple Support

You can also move the library on a USB drive that you plug into the Mac.

Still, there are a lot of instructions on it.

How can I move my library of photos on an external drive?

    http://Apple.StackExchange.com/questions/183318/how-to-put-photos-app-main-Libra ry-on-an-external-disc

If you move the photo library to the TC... it might work for a while, but because of the way the library is open when you change directly a file inside the library... If wireless fails, it can let the corrupt library... Some people ignore the problem... some people take care to use it for storage and run a small library for current materials on the Mac... and Exchange libraries... which is fine... as long as you don't change on the source of the network.

Be warned... the photos are perhaps the most valuable items on your computer, once moved to the TC you have no backup and no way Time Machine can do backups of disks of backup network... so, if you're moving not the CT library... Please make continuous backups either manually... or knowing human frailty to buy a tool like carbon copy clone which is not limited like Time Machine for disks of local backup only. You will need to know where you're going for the backup of... but if it's a USB on your computer then you are simply running it the wrong way. The library must be on the local drive and backup on the TC as it was always intended to work.

  • Save the question

I am on os 10.6.8 and and use just for logic, we was told by tech apple I can upgrade, but backward speed up my system to external hard drive using time machine. wouldn't it be better if I me copied hd on my external rather than use time machine?   Help, please

It depends on what you are doing. A bootable clone is a one-shot copy of the contents of the internal drive. It has the advantage to be bootable and is more easily restorable, but is not a continuous backup. It should be done several times to create a review of the mode of operation of Time Machine control system and use it for that would take much more space to do the same thing with Time Machine.

If you have enough external drives, make the two for optimal results.
