Contribute Publishing Services and Windows Server 2008

Someone was able to install contribute Publishing Services 1.11 on a 32-bit Windows Server 2008?  Any information would be greatly appreciated.

I was able to get it "installed" by copying a previous installation of Windows Server 2003 to Windows Server 2008. Got a ticket to blog about it here:

I think our next rev of the website won't probably use Contribute more. Too bad, really - I rather liked it.

When first pose the problem? Was it before or after the December updates?

KB3004394 and KB3024777 appear in view update history? Or do they appear in installed updates?

Gerry, thanks for your post. I have the same problem as Joachim started this thread. I am running Windows 7 sp1. I have a Dell computer and it's certainly a legitimate copy of Windows (confirmed computer 'properties' and it is enabled).

By your post, I saw just to update and the KB3004394 (installed on 12/10/2014) and KB3024777 (installed on 12/12/2014) show as comfortable. I usually leave the Windows download updates automatically and I install them to stop. I watched the second update and according to Microsoft.com:

Install KB3024777 to fix a problem with KB3004394 on Windows 7 and Windows Server 2008 R2

The KB 3004394 update which was dated December 10, 2014 can cause additional problems on computers that run Windows 7 Service Pack 1 (SP1) and Windows Server 2008 R2 SP1. This includes the inability to install future updates. This new update is available to remove KB 3004394 from your computer.

My problem is, as of today 14/12/2014, I still get the pop up "this computer is running not windows genuine', even with KB3024777 installed.

    Any thoughts?

  • PowerEdge 2600 and Windows Server 2008 R2 installation problem

    Hello.

I have a Dell PowerEdge 2600 server. Here is the configuration:

    BIOS version: A14

    2 x Intel Xeon 2800 MHz 533 MHz, 512 k (SL6VN)

    4 x 1 GB of RAM

    2 x 146 GB (IBM-IC35L146UCDY10-0) in RAID1

    6 x 147 Gb (Fujitsu MAP3147NC) in a RAID5 configuration

Firmware for the PERC 4/Di 2.52D

It has worked well during the installation of Windows Server 2000. But now I need to install Windows Server 2008 R2.

Here's the problem: when I boot server to Windows Server 2008 R2 installation DVD, it starts to load the files and after a few minutes shows an error (I copy the exact error number) who said he's trying to run the 64-bit application, but unfortunately, this processor does not support 64-bit applications.

I was able to find a download for Windows 2008 x 64 on the page Support of Dell PowerEdge 2600. This means that you can install an operating system 64-bit on this PE 2600, is it not?

I know that Windows Server 2008 x 64 and Windows Server 2008 R2 are different operating systems, but 64-bit is always 64 - bit.

Also, I know that Intel Xeon 2800 MHz 533 MHz 512 kb (SL6VN) is a 32-bit processor, but if it was delivered with these processors, and there are downloads for 64-bit operating systems exist, it should be able to install these operating systems.

Please tell us how can I install Windows Server 2008 R2 on the PowerEdge 2600.

    Thanks in advance.

The list 2008 x 64 in the list of OS for the 2600 is clearly a typographical error / support/web content team:

You pay for 2008 x 86 as the latest OS on 2600... or get a newer server (starting with the 8th generation of servers as the PE 2800) to operate 2008R2.

"2008R2 is a 64-bit operating system that is not as forgiving as 2008 x 64 on the execution of threads of 16 bits."

16-bit applications are not supported in 64-bit operating systems:

  • Difficult communication between Windows Server 2008 R2 and Windows Server 2008 R2

I have a client-server application. The application server is installed (Jboss 4.2) on a computer that uses Windows 2003. The Jboss does not have Local system, but a user who has administrator rights. Among other features, this application communicates with other servers that use Windows Server 2008 R2, to find all the services of Jboss that are installed on these machines, their status, the databases that are connected to them, the ports (by checking the file jboss - service.xml, oracle - ds.xml). This communication is done by sending orders sc, as (and other controls to start and stop services):

    Status of request \\server SC = all | find/i 'jboss ' | find/i 'service_name ' | find/i "_q".

My problem is that I have to migrate this application from Windows 2003 to Windows 2008 R2.  After I installed it on my new machine, I saw that the application is not behavies as it should. I managed to observe that the response time to send the same command (the one above) to Windows 2008 R2 to Windows 2008 R2 takes more time that sending the same command from Windows 2003 to Windows 2008 R2.

Is something changed in the sc command or there's a problem with the security rights?

If you have an idea, please give me a feedback.  This problem is beyond my knowledge.

  • T61 and windows server 2008

I get to level my t61 of xp to windows server 2008. Yet, the bluetooth does not work. the pilot said he could not find bluetooth device. Secondly the fn keyboard shortcut does not work either. FN + f4 is ok, the fn + pgup/dwn is ok, but not fn + f2, f3, f5. any thoughts?

    Thank you.

Most of these function keys is related to a specific program (Fn + F3 to change plans with power management program)

If the associated program is not installed you have no functionality.

more information can be found here.

To solve the problem or the other vist hereto manually download drivers and software

    Or

Click hereto use the system update drivers and software download and instlal for you

PS bluetooth radio must be powered first before they recognozed by windows. Having been current on windows will install the default microsoft drivers. FN + F5 function is used to do this. Hotkey driver/utility must be installed to use Fn + F5.

  • How do I dual boot windows 7 a physical drive and windows server 2008 R2 to a second drive

I don't want to run Server 2008 from a virtual hard disk... but rather a native installation.  Is this possible... • 11 GR 1 material OBIEE and Windows Server 2008

    Hello
I tried to decipher certification matrices but came short and thought I would ask here.

    Hi kremer,.

OBIEE 11 GR 1 material is certified to run on Windows Server 2008 64-bit? That is to say if it will support Oracle?

OBIEE 11 g is supported on Windows server 2008 64-bit, but component RCU is only supported on 32-bit windows and 32-bit should be downloaded from the oracle site.

    (2) IE 7 supports only with OBIEE 11 g, the suggestion is go with MOZILLA 3 or higher.

    This has answered your question.

  • CSA and Windows Server 2008 crashes

We have a problem where we install CSA 6.0.2.130 on a Windows 2008 server running IIS and the server hangs after login.  Screen turns off, the mouse pointer is there but the system does not respond.  It is possible to start the Task Manager, and it shows almost all services stopped (but the CSA running).  Stop the CSA service returns the function on the server.  However, once all services have started, if we try to start the CSA, the server hangs and then again.

Research in newspapers CSA files does not show something important.  There are a few references to the center of management not being is not accessible, but they resolve.

Any ideas where to look?  We have tried to turn off A / V, resettlement, etc..

This looks potentially like bug CSCtg98849.  There is a solution that should allow you to continue to work with the CSA helped:

Edit the "Base - Digital Signing of Downloaded Executables" rule module and disable the file access control "Send downloaded executables for scanning if opened for read". Save the change. Generate rules and deploy to affected hosts.

  • I'm unable to start the service for the name of the account to Network Service on Windows Server 2008.

Original title: name of the account network Service can be resolved correctly on windows French

I have a service, I want to run under the network service on windows French account. Computer is not in the field, but in the working group.

Service is installed via install and uses the WinAPI functions to get the name of a valid account of localized, which is the AUTHORITY NT\SERVICE NETWORK.

The problem is that service fails with errors in the following event viewer:

    (1) service depends on the Net Logon service which failed to start because of the following error:
    The operation was successful.

    (2) this computer is configured as a member of a workgroup, and not as a member of a domain. It is not necessary to perform the service access network in this configuration.

However, if I go to the properties of this Service, Log On tab and button Browse... to address the NETWORK SERVICE account, it sticks "Network Service" value in field and function successfully starts. Note that it may not resolve the display name 'AUTHORITY NT\SERVICE NETWORK'.

Another thing is that when I put the computer in the domain that manages all the service suddenly starting with 'AUTHORITY NT\SERVICE NETWORK' account but the system does not transform it in "Network Service" on English windows.

So is this a bug on a French OS? Is there a solution? How can I get programmatically "converted" version of the account name ('AUTHORITY NT\SERVICE NETWORK'-> 'Network Service')?

  • Windows 7 and Window Server 2008 license

I got Dell workstations with WIndows 7 and Windows 2003 OS. I want to know if these licenses are related to hardware, which in the case where all my workstation fails and replace it with the new job, can I use a license for the OS on the new workstation. If this isn't the case, then what can be done to make this current independent license machine.

    Thanks in advance.

Its the same as the OEM license, it has no transfer of rights once his load on this machine. Windows 7 Embedded is used in solutions of the industry such as kiosks, retail point-of-sale devices to and other types of retail basic scenarios.
