External Microphone problem - Splitter?

Hello

I just bought a thinkpad t410i, as well as a helmet of lenovo p550.

Problem is, there is only one socket in the thinkpad and two sons on the helmet - one for the helmet, one for the microphone.

When I plug the cable from the headset, the headset works fine and the microphone does nothing. But when I plug the microphone instead, nothing happens.

I searched this forum and found a post from gsfriend:

Im trying to get my headset external to work, but with no luck. One internal works, but this isn't the quality mic I want. I can't disable internal one very well. I checked the headset with another computer and it works fine. The headphones work fine when plugged into this layout as well. The problem is that even with the internal MIC is disabled, I can't do anything with externally. The configuration option is not even highlight. I see that this is a common problem with Dells apparently.

I think I might need just better/different software. The driver for the controller is just the basic "device high definition audio. IM using a Dell Lattitude D620 but with professional Windows7 installed instead of this horrible system of Vista.

All suggestions/help with this problem would be much appreciated.

I think I might need just better/different software. The driver for the controller is just the basic "device high definition audio.

Often catches do not work with the native Windows driver. Install the Sigmatel audio driver. There is no version of Win 7 If you install the version of Vista using compatibility mode. The driver is Sigmatel R171788. Download and extract the files (unzip or decompress and take note of the name of the folder created) but cancel the installation process. Go to the folder on the hard disk to which you have unpacked the driver files, probably
    c:\Dell\Drivers\R171788

Find the setup.exe file and right-click on it. Select Properties. Find the Compatibility tab and select Vista.

  • Y50 external microphone does not work do not

Bought the Y50 because it is decent spec for video editing (which works well), but - can not get the external microphone to work.

    Tried a headphones/mic adapter.

Tried all the different settings in Realtek HD Audio Manager

I tried Control Panel / its parameters - this allows me to use the ' Mic in towards the front (black), even if it's on the side of the laptop - the volume indicator shows a signal comes from the microphone. The other "Microphone" device also shows that it works for the built-in microphones. I can type each microphone independently to see the answer in each Panel.

But - I can't get any software on the laptop to record really any external microphone signal, what I need for the voice-over.

The Installer 'Configure your speech recognition' "Assistant configuration of the Microphone" show a small volume entry but repeat myself "the computer did not hear you clearly.

    Update

Feel a bit of a numpty - the microphone works now - whenever I tried to hear the recording of the test and I got the silence - that as a failure - I just needed to unplug the microphone from the socket to allow the speakers to play confused recording. Read white noise headphones - must deal separately with this!

Thus, the headphone splitter adapter is the key.

    Hello

Yes - as I posted in the update - separator solved the problem thanks.

  • External microphone not detected and faulty internal mic on Satellite Pro U400

I have had several headphones with microphone and taken headphones 3.5 and the laptop just will not detect them. I tried to disable the internal sound system, or just the MIC internal, but not luck.

The internal MIC is a (stronger if the external microphone is plugged) whirring background noise which means I can't use it for work.

    Any help is appreciated!

    Which is really strange.

  • Cannot get Equium A200 to recognize external microphones, or detect sounds

    Hello
I have a problem with my Equium A200-1V0 (running Vista Home Premium).

It is equipped with a microphone input, but I can't do recognize external microphones, or detect sounds.
He won't let me launch the Windows Sound Recorder software, because it signals that * no. recording device * is installed.
I've seen this mentioned on other external forums, but have yet to find an answer.

If the sound card is equipped to record / captures sound via the external microphone jack?
If so, what should I do to activate it?
    Otherwise, why have a microphone?

Thank you very much in advance for any response.

    Hello

It looks more like a hardware problem, I mean a problem of external microphone jack what you think?

    Just a question;
It is perhaps a silly question, but are you sure you used a right sleeve to 100%? Maybe you mixed the headphones with mic jack

  • Satellite A215-S4747 (internal and external) microphone does not work

    Hello

I write about my wife by Satellite A215-S4747 running Windows XP.
A few months ago as the built-in microphone and external microphone has stopped working.

This made me think it was a driver problem, although no issue in
Control Panel > sounds and Audio devices > equipment for all drivers.

I went through the Troubleshooting Wizard, but that did not help.
I went and downloaded drivers RealTek HD Audio (R2.67), but that didn't fix it.

    Any help is very appreciated.

I want to emphasize that this machine is about 6 years old, making the possibility of some parts break most likely...

    Hello

Sound works. Right? Well well, in that case I n t think that it is an audio driver problem.

First of all, I think you should check some basic settings.
    (1) mic device.
Go to the control panel-> sounds and Audio-> Audio-> sound recording devices
Here you check if device right microphone has been selected

    (2) mic volume
Go to the control panel-> sounds and Audio devices-> Audio-> audio-> Volume
Here you check if the volume is at max level
Additional button Advanced should be available at the bottom of the mic volume control click that it and check if the mic push in checked.

Have you installed some tools or software which may affect (disabled) the microphone?

  • Satellite A200 - 1SM PSAE6E - impossible to record with an external microphone

    Hello.

I have problem with my microphone, maybe not microphone but my entry into the laptop.
When I connect something to the entrance, and I start the program to save, there is nothing to just silence, and when I log off (microphone or something like that) program is sound recording.

I don't know what is happening. I turn off the drivers of the device...
and I reinstall audio drivers, maybe more just, I have format my computer and still nothing.
Seriously I don't know what the problem...

Please help because I'm going crazy :D

    Hello

I recommend checking out the settings first.
In Control Panel-> sound, you should check the volume of the microphone.
The volume must be set to the highest level.

In Control Panel, you should also find the Audio from Realtek Manager. There you can change some options too.
On the right side (right column), you'll find options called advanced settings. Here you can change the settings for the headphone and microphone Sockets.

By the way; don't forget that your external microphone to which you connect to the laptop is ok

  • Satellite L750 does not recognize an external microphone

My laptop does not recognize any external audio input device plugged into the mic port.

I have a Satellite L750 running Windows 7 with the Conexant HD Audio Smart.

I want to record using external mixer. I am connect the output of the bureau in the 3.5 mm microphone port, but it seems that it is still just using the internal mic.

When I go into the sound properties, under the recording tab, it is only the internal mic. There is no option for an external mic.

I tried updating the driver for sound card, remove the card driver sound and re - install, check all the properties under sound properties, but there is no option for the external microphone.

I tried Googling the problem but nobody seems to have a viable solution.

Please can someone help me get the laptop to recognize an external mic.

    > I want to record using external mixer. I am connect the output of the bureau in the 3.5 mm microphone port, but it seems that it is still just using the internal microphone

Start a test: take an external microphone, connect it to the laptop and use a Windows 7 Audio Recorder utility (can be found in all programs-> Accessories) to record an audio sample.

    Is this possible?

I think that the microphone that appears in the control-> audio-> recording tab panel is the external microphone jack.
You can also click right in the recording tab and must mark the options: show disconnected devices and devices to see the disabled.

  • Paviliion dv7: external Microphone not Picking Up Sound

    Hello

I recently bought a product that works better with direct external headphones. It was my first time ever using one with my laptop. When I went through the set up process, the microphone would pick up all the sounds and I couldn't hear anything through the external listener.  I tried to use the microphone and headphone port as well as the helmets of the different with the same result. Headsets work very well on other devices.

When I use only ordinary headphones connected via the helmet, I hear very well.

I went to control panel > hardware and sound > Sound > manage Audio devices to solve problems, but nothing has worked. I tried to update the latest drivers and I was told later are already installed.

Is the name of the product: HP Pavilion dv7 Notebook PC

Product # (NOT the serial number) is: B5R46UA #ABA
The external microphone is called: IDT High Definition Audio CODEC

    Please advise,

    chriscinthed

    Hi @chriscinthed ,

You can do a System Restore. System Restore will help if something is automatically updated and wasn't on the laptop. It will also fix the sound.

When you perform a system restore Please note remove all USB devices and headphones. Disconnect all non-essential devices because they can cause problems.

Speaking to Rosetta Stone said headsets for use with the software here is for Plug-and-Play technology for the connected USB headset. Other computers you've tried have the Beats Audio.  To turn on or off the Beats Audio, press the fn in combination with the b button. Decision-making has influence on the Beats Audio which may need to be turned off. Then, try the microphone.
You guarantee that you plug the microphone headset in the selection for the helmets on the laptop.

    Thank you.

  • External microphone realtek Y580 has a lot of comments/quiet

I have the Y580 and the external microphone is extremely quiet. The works of micro fine on other computers and problems, is that the microphone is very quiet with many comments. If I use any help at all, I get too much feed back.

I tried to use the REALTEK drivers on their website for the RealtekHD, but this done so that the microphone was super quiet, and that the MICROPHONE AMP would not affect when changing it.

The new drivers seem to solve the problem of your comments, but then leave the external microphone too quiet, and since the amp microphone does not work with the latest drivers, I'm stuck with the 'old' who have far too many comments.

    not y580 drivers, y570.

Recently, I bought this camera to record clips video and audio of my daughter playing the piano.  She would like to create an audio CD to give to family members.  We use a micro external pro rode video mic.  The problem is that all audio is recorded at the same volume.  This means that all parts of the music that are softer or the lounder when registering to go unnoticed.  I was hoping that the device was set to auto mode, but I can't find out anything.

Any help is greatly appreciated - thank you!

  • Inspiron 7559 refuses to activate the external microphone (speakers work well)

    Hello

I have a new inspiron 7559 (about a month), 10 windows, updated everything, no conflicting antivirus, etc.

Since the beginning, I was unable to use my external microphone. I have a headset with microphone, on one of these micro + combined speaker 3.5 mm plugs. When I plug it in, the sound system detects my headset very well and his career to it.

It bugs a bit me that the system does not display the individual devices and windows to perform a control instead of the reports just one audio device, but okay fine, I can understand from a technical POV.

However, the real problem is that no matter what I do, only the built-in microphone is used, never my external on the plug 3.5 mm taken. He appears as a device, there is no setting for it in the sound system, and the system is not automatically switch to it when it is plugged. I can not all the sounds of it (no, it is not broken).

Any help would be appreciated, thanks.

    Faziri
By "no adjustment for her", I meant that the driver is not exposing the detection or allow you to replace everything. All you get is the combined unit, and if it doesn't work, it's too bad.

Many or most models computer Dell laptop with material Reatek'a have a Manager named application Audio Dell or just the Audio from Dell, which is a truncated version of the Audio Realtek Manager found on other brands of computers. I don't know if the 7559 is supposed to have or not, but if so it should be installed at the factory and also the part of the support of the notebook page download driver Realtek.

Anyway, if you have the app it might give you a little more control.

    Faziri
Any chance of dell step in and take care of an update?

I can't speak for Dell, but I want to emphasize that its roadmap is not good about the audio problems are fixed.
