  I think it's a problem with the flash plugin, since the problem started right after that I was updating it (even if I have to I guess). And that leads to another problem; I tried to update since instead of videos on the profiles of the people I get error saying I had Java Script disabled or old Flash version - it was wrong then, it is wrong now - now, cause it gives me always this error.

  I post here, because on Google Chrome YouTube works perfectly well.

  I tried to reinstall flash, did not help. Some suggestions?

  Interestingly enough, I had this problem and has spent the last 3 hours stalking with the help of several virtual machines and about: support... but unknown although I searched Dom.storage.enabled (the key of the solution) and ended up here through google, even if this string is nowhere on this page... strange (old copy cached? if yes) why this comment/response [re] moved?).

  Anyway, I wanted to say that I fixed that by searching my variables in all: support it filters the only the main browser vars that have been modified by the default values, there is much too much to sort if you have to root through: config looking at each extension vars. I could watch videos of youtube individually, but would get the "Hello... javascript is disabled or if you have an older version of flash" msg on the homepage of any channel. Also, I couldn't click on java?-function such as controls on youtube, type/aversion and. Al. below the videos, the menu that dropped down when you click on the name of your profile at the top right and many other issues as well. I could not click on any "javascript:" links (nothing happens), e.g., Asus's support site, one of countless other quirks which have all been fixed with the solution below. I don't know that this all would make them perfect sense if I knew a bit more about the DOM Storage, but for now a raw practical description will do.

  For those who jumped paragraph above, here's the quick fix: go to about: config and dom.storage.enabled set to TRUE and that, unless you have other problems as well, you should be in a good position.

  I uninstalled and reinstalled Adobe Flash and that did not help. I think there must be a setting I'm missing in Firefox, because I can visualize using other browsers. My settings for Shockwave are "always enable" and is not checked to activate Adobe Flash mode. I can't watch Youtube, MSN or any other videos. It just shows a black box with a clickable button of 'F' but clicking on it does nothing. I remember when Adobe has become a problem, he asked me to block or allow sites that I visited, but I do not think that I clicked on block on any of them.   Hi Spuds13, could you do a right click, 'f', and if you get the context menu of Firefox (not the Flash Player menu), choose inspect element (Q). This will open the Inspector in the lower part of the tab and can help identify what is insertion as a layer in front of the video. Or maybe not, but that's what I would try.
