Controller 521AP IOS

I have two independent 521AP and 526 controller. I would change my standalone mode controller 521AP. How can I get the controller IOS mode? I have an account of CCB, but that doesn't let me download the software. I have to buy new mode controller IOS?

Thank you.

You have three options you can try.

1 contact you are the seller and ask if they can download software for you; or

2. contact the provider and ask if they can provide you with a valid Service contract so you will be able to download software ONLY (don't tell them on the opening of the TAC/SRs or they will refuse).

3. if #1, #2 fail, contact the Cisco's Service Centre and give them your login ORC and the S/N of your AP and controller and ask if they can provide you with a Service contract valid.

I'm in the same situation as you so I did option #3 and now I can download software create the SRs and the TAC for RMA.

Hope they work.

NOTE: I hope you didn't buy your equipment to [email protected]/ * / because the options will not work.

I'm brand new on wireless and I would like to findout if AIR-AP1142N-T-K9 is stand-alone or light weight. I read some documents and they say that the series 1140 is autonomous, but nothing special to 1142 NTK9. If it is a stand-alone can become light weight and which WLC series support the converted AP.

    Thank you.

I am brand new to wireless and i would like to findout whether AIR AP1142N-T-K9 is standalone or light weight

Your product code says it is autonomous (independent aka), but the best way to check is to console in the AP and see the IOS.  If your IOS is "C1140-K9W8- M", so he focuses on the controller of IOS.  If your IOS is "C1140-K9W7- M", then it is autonomous.

Conversion from IOS autonomous (aIOS) is quite easy.  Everything you need to do is copy the file "RRS" TAR in the AP, it starts from him.

Mac aren't game machines really great in any case, now, and not a lot of flight or simulation driving games for Mac and OS X, either.

  • iOS 9.2 bluetooth pairing

Does anyone else's problems do with Bluetooth pairing once upgraded to iOS since iOS 9.1 9.2? As soon as I made my Garmin Forerunner 630 was no longer able to communicate with my iPhone 6 (Note: it worked perfectly, while running iOS 9.1 before nightfall iOS which should be upgraded).

Measures taken to try to resolve the problem

    1. Forget the camera and rematching. This has compounded the situation - the iPhone could not 'see' the device to try to match.
    2. Pairing my Garmin 630 with a friend (Android based) phone - it works immediately - he can see the Garmin and cannot pair it, no problem.
    3. My Garmin 630 with my iPad Air matching - the iPad is also running iOS 9.2 and he too can not even 'see' the device.
    4. Pairing my iPhone 6 and iPad in the Air with a bluetooth (EU Boom) speaker - it works.
    5. Complete reset of my iPhone 6. Twinning with 630 Garmin still does not work.
    6. Reset complete my Garmin 630. No change.
    7. Following the advice of Apple here: Wi - Fi and Bluetooth: potential sources of interference wireless - Apple Support

    Conclusion

In summary, it seems that Bluetooth still work on the Garmin 630 and the iPhone and the iPad, but Apple has made some sort of change in 9.2 iOS that prevents matching with certain types of Bluetooth device.

    Similar reported problems

I've seen a few similar reports on support for other devices forums (not "seen" / "detectable") after the upgrade to iOS 9.2:

Does not connect via Bluetooth, iOS 9.2 to my home theater of sonny,

Since iOS 9.2 my Bluetooth PlayStation keyboard no longer works

iPhone 5 sec bluetooth not working after iOS 9.2

as well as more general questions of Bluetooth for devices that are already paired:

    No bluetooth after 9.2

iPhone 5 sec bluetooth not working after iOS 9.2

    iCade/bluetooth controller + iOS 9.2

None of the posts that i reference above gives no real solution.

    Questions

1 Apple Please recognize that there is a problem with iOS 9.2 on Bluetooth?

2 - is anyone else seeing problems similar to what I reported and the posts that I've referenced?

Problem solved, a bit of a schoolboy error.

For some reason, the iOS to 9.2 upgrade means that the phone and the Garmin 630 were no longer able to communicate. Try to pair again via the iOS Bluetooth settings screen did not work (the unit has not appeared).

It seems that matching works only if launched from the Garmin Connect app works on the iPhone / iPad. Once you have coupled the app will Garmin 630, then appear in the Bluetooth settings screen standard iOS, showing as connected.

    In summary:

    (1) not all Bluetooth devices will not necessarily be available for matching in the iOS Bluetooth settings screen (didn't know it until now), and

    (2) previously associated device no longer works after update iOS. Not a huge problem, but a bit annoying.

  • Airport Utility iOS advanced options disappear

This morning, I noticed that my AU on iOS has none of the advanced options. The option restart also disappeared. There are two changes that have taken place:

    1) instituted by domain controller of origin with AD, DNS, and DHCP. Always had advanced options immediately after and was able to restart remotely HQ Airport Extreme.

    (2) upgraded to iOS 9.2. Did not consider new utility until AFTER the update.

Basically everything I have now is the following:

Base station > name and password

Network > wifi ssid and password

    network invited

Internet connection > ip and dns settings

all other parameters have completely disappeared on ipad and iphone. Note that are present on mac os x (10.11.2) and have not changed. All others this experience or comments?

The answer came. It's a bit delayed by protesting, but apparently if you provide a domain, DHCP and DNS internal controller, these options are not available. As soon as I stop the server, default DNS settings my ISP and open the DHCP range, everything is back. Pain during the execution of some servers, but at least I know now.

  • All 1300 wireless bridges have IOS sw?

    Hi all

I just wanted to know. The 1300s have IOS software on them.

    Thank you very much

    Hi Amanda,.

    The 1300 can work with IOS (stand-alone) or as a lightweight AP (LWAPP);

The Cisco Aironet 1300 series is available as part of the Cisco Unified Wireless network or as a stand-alone gateway or bridge. The Cisco Unified Wireless network is a complete solution that provides integrated wireless and wired network end-to-end. By using the features of radio and network for simplified deployment Cisco Unified Wireless network management, the Cisco Aironet 1300 series extends the security, scalability, reliability, ease of deployment and management available in the cable to the wireless LAN networks. Unified access points operate with the Lightweight of Point access (LWAPP) Protocol and work collaboratively with LAN wireless controllers (WCS) wireless control system and Cisco. When it is configured with LWAPP, the Cisco Aironet 1300 series can automatically detect the controller wireless LAN Cisco best-available and download appropriate policies and configuration without practical intervention information.

Autonomous access points are based on the Cisco IOS software and can possibly work with the CiscoWorks Wireless LAN Solution Engine (WLSE). • Is it possible run a single AP 1510 without wlan controller?

I am eager to test a 1510 Aironet Wireless AP without running a wireless LAN controller, is it possible? I can't find any documentation to be able to do this.

    Hi Jason,

Unfortunately, you need a wireless controller for the operation of the series of 1510.

The 1510 is a fist light access; in other words, there are firmware and options that only a controller can provide.

If you need a full air mesh AP, you can check in the 1520 series, which is available with a standalone IOS. If you just need a robust outdoor AP, the 1300 series is available as a standalone AP.

Is it not possible with the IOS and the AP I have?

    Hi Eric,.

I'm just curious, did you convert the AP to IOS already?

    This can be converted to a standalone/stand alone AP you want;

    Here is a method of conversion;

    Returning to standalone Access Point

You can convert an access point of the mode light return to autonomous mode by loading a Cisco IOS version that supports stand-alone mode (Cisco IOS release 12.3 (7) JA or earlier version). If the access point is associated with a controller, you can use the controller to load the version of Cisco IOS. If the access point is not associated with a controller, you can load the version of Cisco IOS using TFTP.

By using a TFTP server to revert to a previous version

Follow these steps to return mode LWAPP stand-alone mode by loading a version of Cisco IOS using a TFTP server:

    --------------------------------------------------------------------------------

Step 1 the IP address of the computer on which the server software runs TFTP should range from 10.0.0.2 to 10.0.0.30.

Step 2 make sure the PC contains the file access point (for example, c1200-k9w7 - tar.122 - 15.JA.tar for a 1200 Series access point) in the TFTP server folder and the TFTP server is activated.

Step 3 Rename the access point image file in the folder of the TFTP server c1200-k9w7 - tar.default for a series of 1200 point, c1130-k9w7 - tar.default of access for a series of 1130 access point and c1240-k9w7 - tar.default for a series of 1240 access point.

Step 4 connect the PC to the access point using an Ethernet category 5 cable (CAT5).

Step 5 disconnect the power to the access point.

Step 6 push the MODE button and hold the button while you reconnect power to the access point.

Step 7 hold the MODE button until the status of the LED turns red (approximately 20 to 30 seconds), then release.

Step 8 wait until restarting access point, as indicated by the LEDs become green followed the status LED flashes green.

Step 9 after the access point reboots, reconfigure using the GUI or the CLI.

    I hope this helps!

  • Successor to the 5508 controller?

    Hello

I am currently using some 440 x controllers and I guess it's almost time to upgrade. I don't really want to buy a 5508, just because it is already > 4 years and so probably not very future proof (we have a 5-year window). On the other hand, the controller of 5760 seems to miss several features and has not even more since WLC 8.0 has been released. Currently, I'm also quite confused on the controller of Cisco strategy...

Anyway, did anyone of you has heard a successor 5508 or what's going to happen with the two not synchronized release threads (ios and wlc based)?

    Thank you

    Patrick

Anyway, has anybody of you heard about a 5508 successor or about what will happen with the two not synchronized release threads (ios and wlc based)?

The answer is 'yes '.  The long answer is "talk to your Cisco AM / SE" and NOT to your authorized dealer/seller of the Cisco.

The new materials are planned for mid - to end-2015.  That's all what I can say with respect to the subject of what is going to replace the venerable 5508.

Now, the time to strategy.  Cisco SALES' mantra since always this: IF, for example, the 5508 announced today, users have about three to five years to find financing to replace them.   Here's the deal: the wireless IOS, not aircraft operating system, does not do well.  Not at all.  So that alone dictates the WISN/5508-2 is going to be around for a few years.

Now, your biggest concern isn't when the EoS will be announced to the 5508/WISN-2.  Your biggest concern is your APs.  Have you read / seen the Release Notes for the firmware 8.0?  All APs 802.11 g only, as the 1130 and 1240, will be NOT permitted features 8.0.  They can join a controller with firmware 8.0, but they will have no 8.x features enabled.  So my hunch is this: the next major release, perhaps 8.1, all non - CleanAir APs, such as the 1040, 1140 won't 8.1 features enabled and the list will light.
