Controllers host USB Icon

The icon USB in the notification area of the controllers list 4 bar and my tasks C:\ drive.  I use Win 7 as guest on a Mac book OS using OS Snow Leopard.  The listed controllers) 1 Enhanced PCI to USB Host Controller.  (2) universal PCI to USB host controller.  (3) pro/1000 MT Network Connection.  (4) Hign Definition Audio Controller.  (5) VMware Virtual S SCSI peripheral drive Local C drive. \.

Is this normal?  If this is not how to resolve this so that they do not show here.

It is normal and expected, however, you can add the following parameter value in the configuration file .vmx to remove the dialog box remove the device safely.  Note: It reappears when you plug an external USB device but you see not the internal devices on the dialog box remove the device safely.

devices.hotplug = "FALSE"

Note: Modify the configuration file .vmx with stop the Virtual Machine, not suspended, and closed VMware Fusion.  Stop the Virtual Machine of the guest operating system, and then ctrl - click on the entry of the Virtual Machine in the Virtual Machine library and then press the option (alt) key and select open the Config file in Publisher, and then closing VMware Fusion.  Add the value of the parameter to the .vmx config file, save the change while closing the file then open VMware Fusion and start the Virtual Machine.

  • An additional USB icon on taskabr

    Hi all

I have an additional USB icon on my system tray in Windows 7. I have the vmware installed on this machine. The USB icon shows my HARD disk drives!
I think it appeared when I uninstalled app Intel Rapid Storage Technology (IRST). I uninstalled because I do not think that TSRI does nothing useful on my desktop PC.
Now to get rid of this extra icon I have to reinstall that TSRI! What will actually in my PC please?

It is a problem that occurs if lack you the appropriate drivers for your controller for internal hard drive.  It allows Windows think that these "removable" readers, as a USB drives, even if they are not. More details here.

As this discussion says the best thing you can do is perhaps make sure that you have the chipsets and drivers from the manufacturer of your system up-to-date.

But you can also remove the icon with a change in the registry as shown here.  There is also a lot more information online here as well on how to remove it.

  • Satellite L755 - 1 6 - host USB 3.0 controller shows yellow flag suddenly

I bought a 6 w / Windows7 L755 - 1 x 64 a few days ago. "Renesas Electronics USB 3.0 Host Controller" was working properly, I am using a CnMemory Core 1.5 TB drive. I used the drive in the last days and the transfer speed was fast.

Unfortunately today the drive suddenly recognized no more. In Device Manager, the controller is marked with a yellow sign and the error that says "the device cannot start. (Code 10) ». There is no hub listed for this controller.

The driver version is 2.0.32.0. I've already tried
    -removal of the device
    -uninstall the device
d ' use the version of the driver www.station-drivers.com 2.1.28
but without success. So I returned to the official driver Toshiba 2.0.32.0 version.

I searched the forums and google this error but I couldn't find a working solution. In the Windows Update history there are only two updates for Windows Defender listed since last week, so there is no system of major updates that could cause this behavior.

  • Host USB 3 controller not found

I use win 7 Home Edition desktop samsung laptop core i7. This laptop has 4 usb ports including 2 of them have stopped working and I get this message 3 host controller: usb not found

First, whenever a computer is fitted with a USB 3.0 port, ports should have blue plastic in the middle of the port connections.  This seems to be a standard that has been adopted for the USB 3.0 ports.

If the ports have stopped working, you must:

    (1) check the manual of the user of the computer and check for all possible controls, in the BIOS or through key / ports / button functions, which can disable USB 3.0.

    (2) find the right drivers for the USB controller 3.0, off the coast of sections of the manufacturer support site download and try to re - install these.

If the suggestions of two 2 above do not help, you may need to contact the technical assistance service and you may need to get your laptop repaired.

  • How to access a host USB Virtual Serial Port from a VM Application?

I have a Linux VM running under VMware Player 5.0.2 on a Linux host machine.   I have a development system running on the computer, virtual trying to download the code on an external device connected via a virtual serial port USB host (ttyACM0).   Anyone doing programming Arduino device will be familiar with my software/hardware config.  Dev VM system does not directly hear the ttyACM0 port I need to establish some sort of connection bridge between "ttyACM0" host port and the port of VM-configured "ttySx"?   Someone did something like this with a VM Player?

FYI, I found the answer to my own question in an old post on a similar topic. Here's a response provided by the user 'Worker' in the former post office that was the solution to my problem.  I followed its general approach and mounted my own virtual *.vmx machine configuration file to change the serial port set of ' / dev/ttyS1 "to" / dev/ttyACM0 ' I can now download code on my device directly from the Arduino IDE running on the guest VM system.

Worker (1 positions since November 23, 2010) November 23, 2010 12:56 am (in response to AnthonySowden)

A bit of an old thread here, but I wanted to say that I was able to do exactly this yesterday using VMware Server 2.

It wasn't easy, but I managed to hack in there.  I guess that this trick works also on VM WS but I have not yet tested.

    Here are the steps:

    Start your VM turned off.

Add a serial port of your virtual machine through the normal interface. -J' I just let it use/dev/ttyS0.

Go to your virtual machine folder and edit the .vmx config file.

    Find the line:

    Serial0.filename = ' / dev/ttyS0 ".

    Replace:

    Serial0.filename = "/ dev/ttyUSB0 '.

and off you go.  The guest operating system sees it as a real physical serial port and is fortunately out my system through series console!

    Hope that helps other people.

  • NB 100: How - top connection Orange UK mobile broadband (usb icon 225 stick)

I just managed to get my connected nb100, here's how:

Step 1 - enter the SIM card - instructions provided with the device

Step 2 - upgrade of the network manager

#Right click the icon of your management network at the top right and select "about". If it is less than 0.7 (such as mine) upgrade is necessary.

    #upgrade to the network manager > = 0.7
    > sudo gedit /etc/apt/sources.list

#add the following at the end:
    > main deb http://ppa.launchpad.net/network-manager/ubuntu hardy
    > deb - src http://ppa.launchpad.net/network-manager/ubuntu hardy main

#save, out, run Manager Update, install updates and restart the computer. If the Network Manager icon is not present - stops completely. Should appear after turning back.

Step 3 - install the driver OHSS and ozerocdoff
Locate and download the latest version (1.9 in my case) here: http://www.pharscape.org/forum/index.php?board=14.0

    > cd Desktop /.
    > tar zxvf ass - 1.9.tar.gz

Here are things I tried.  I've tried everything else.  I am convinced there is a corrupted file, but it's beyond my ability to find and replace.  I could really use help... This printer has worked for more than three years.  The ports worked with other devices until I uninstalled all 7 of my USB HOST controller drivers.  Now my logitec mouse (wireless) no longer works.
