Controls the size of retouched Photo file

When I edit a photo using the PS Express editor and save the edited jpg file, I find that there is a significant file size reduction (7.1 MB to 1 MB).  How can I save the modified file using the edited version and retain the same approximate file size than the original?

I have the same question when I change using PS Express on my iPad.

The differences in behavior between web and mobile versions are known, and at the time when they were designed, responding to the needs of the users or the realities of the platform for every type of environment.

The quality setting used for saving the file is another design, choice that allows intentionally smaller size of the file (in bytes).  A lot of iPhone users and Photoshop Express iPad rely on our application to make quick changes before downloading and sharing.  Some users rely on 3G connectivity and prefer smaller file (in bytes) for a faster download.

Regarding the last question that you mentioned, it seems that Photoshop Express the thumbnail and not the original RAW image.  Some cameras have a setting to save an image in RAW + Jpeg formats simultaneously.  If this is possible for you, please try this approach.  Otherwise, I recommend that you use iTunes - you import pictures into iTunes (which converts images to a size and a format suitable for Photoshop Express) and then sync them to your device.

Thank you very much for your thoughtful and insightful comments on Photoshop Express!  Comments like yours is valuable, because it helps us to understand the evolution of the needs of our users.  If you haven't done so already, please make sure that you post your requests for features for quality and preservation of the resolution while editing the files here: https://www.adobe.com/cfusion/mmform/index.cfm?name=wishform. This will really help to increase the visibility of your request.

Thank you

  • ImageIO reduced the size of my photo file?

    Hello

    I used the code below in an attempt to write an image file in the DB
    BufferedImage originalImage = ImageIO.read (new File("c:\\test.jpg"));)
    ByteArrayOutputStream Baos = new ByteArrayOutputStream();
    ImageIO.write (originalImage, "jpg", baos);
    Baos.Flush ();
    Byte [] fileBytes = baos.toByteArray ();

    Save fileBytes DB if the column accepts the value of type BLOB.

    I used the code below in an attempt to read from the database and write to the file system.
    Bais ByteArrayInputStream = getFileBytesFromDB();
    The BufferedImage = ImageIO.read (bais);
    ImageIO.write (consulterles, "jpg", new File("c:\\test1.jpg"));)

    I noticed that the resulting file size has been reduced by almost half after writing to the file system. Anyone know why?
    :)

    As he says, do not use ImageIO. It's re-encoding JPEG format which is morphing your data. Just copy it in the form of bytes using input and output streams. Much faster, too.

  • How can I control the size of the BMP file created by freeze frame tool?

    I use the first 13 items on Windows 7

    When I run the tool freeze frame it creates a still image (bmp file) from an image in my video clip.

    The bmp file size can vary from 6076 KB, 2701 KB or KB 1013 and seems to be independent of the type of item (MPEG, MOV, AVI), size (1366 x 768, 1280 x 720, 1920 x 1080, 320 x 180, 720 x 480) or rate (29.97, 29,55. (29.04 25.00, 24.00) video.

    The size of the image seems to depend on the project folder, in which it was created.  The same clip can produce a 6076 bmp or bmp file 2701 whereby one project (prel) the tool Freeze Frame files was performed.

    I searched everywhere for a project setting that could establish a size by default files for output, but it seems not to be.

    Is it possible to control the size of the bmp file generated by freeze frame?   I need consistency,

    Thank you.

    Re thinking, try a few things and this sentence convinces me that you mix dimensions of the image in pixels and the size of the file in KB.   In addition, digital images have in. up to put on paper or screen.  All they have is the pixel dimensions.  Each pixel can have a lot or little information based on the color, brightness, etc. so the KB of size can vary even if the pixel dimensions only.

    I've set up a project in 640 x 480, put in a clip and freeze box a. BMP.  If you look at a file in Explorer and you pass the mouse over it, you get a date, size in pixels and size KB.  The result (you can see in the picture as an attachment) is the file with an image of 640 x 480, as the setting for the project.  In this case, a 900KO file size was necessary to store the data of this particular framework.

    If Visio is happy with JPEG files, there is a way through the publication & share > Image to better control the dimensions in pixels with settings under the Advanced button.  Using this method, I made a jpeg from the same exact with 1920 x 1080 pixel frame and 1,2 MB in file size.

    I am convinced that your changes in the size of the text are due to dimensions in pixels and have nothing to do with the size of the file.  Of course I was wrong more than once and tips can be useful what you actually pay!

    I would like to be able to reduce the size of a photo in Photo Mac or Photoscape 6 MB to 800 KB. Before I could do this in Picasa when I exported photo.

    If change you a file standard .jpg you can reduce 'quality' option to reduce his smaller size. You can use the shareware, GraphicConverter for this application. You may also be able to do in the Photos when you export the image. Overview, may be able too, but I have not used for this purpose.

  • How can I control the size of the active output of Flash CC, when creating an animation HTML5?

    I am converting an animation Flash CC to HTML5. The flash movie contains a picture that is a 6 K transparent GIF. However, when I convert this animation in HTML5 and test it in my browser, this image file is output as a PNG 15 k.

    I had hoped that it would be just out of the 6 K transparent GIF. Instead, she's a PNG which is more than 3 times the size. Could someone tell me how I can control the size of the assets that are released when Flash CC creates an animation HTML5?

    I need very small file size for my animation HTML5, when Flash triple the size of my original images is a big problem. Thanks for any advice.

    You can use www.tinypng.com to reduce the size of your images. Should end up being a similar size to a gif file, but it can contain a true alpha, not only a key color.

    After that you posted once you can process images in order to optimize their and disabling images editing settings. In this way your optimized images won't get crushed, and editing will be faster.

    I tend to work slightly differently, especially if we often have to do some tests with files on a server. I put the optimized versions of the images in the folder images from the server, in Flash, I make a regular test film (with it not optimized image export) and if I changed or added new images, I optimize those and put them on the server. The test server will be a good indicator of performance for other people.

    A huge performance improvement is to add this line of setMaxConnections in the HTML code:

    var loader = new createjs. LoadQueue (false);
    loader.setMaxConnections (6).

    that alone can make the page load six times faster.

  • Controls the size of window

  • Import of SVG images in DITA topics / controlling the size

    Hi writers,

    I am currently evaluating DITA using FM9 p250 and the DITA FMx plugin. If we adopt DITA, should be a replacement for vector graphics formats, that we currently use. I am considering the SVG to cause the return options. We could use Illustrator or Visio to create. I created a few sample files and imported in a DITA topic, but I can't seem to control the size of the screen.

    When I use the - import - file, the size in the import dialog box settings seem to have no effect. I can then scale the image via the properties of the object, but I lose these changes when the topic is closed.

    I think that someone has reported a problem with SVG and 8 FM in this forum. This behavior is a known bug, even in FM 9, or I do something wrong when importing?

    Are there attributes DITA, I could put to control the size?

    Thanks for any help

    Susanne

    Hi Susanne...

    It doesn't seem to be a bit of a bug in FMx when it comes to SVG. If you have activated the option 'Use fmdpi', you should turn that... It seems to conflict with sizing of SVG. If this option is not, when you insert an SVG image, you can then resize the image as necessary using Esc, g, o (or graphics > properties of the object) and by setting the values of width and height. Do not set the values of height and width in the attributes, use the object's properties dialog box.

    Also... remember to set the size of the image, not the framework. FMx "shrinkwraps" the frame to the image in order to select the image you just click in the middle of the image, not the edge... by clicking on the edge will probably choose the framework. After you set the size of the image, the framework must readjust to the new size of the image... If it doesn't, try saving the file, this re-shrinkwraps images.

    You should be able to set the size of the SVG but... works for me.

    See you soon,.
